IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
Adrien's answer had her stunned, the woman not expecting that type of comment from him. Her eyes trace his features as it trying to find a flaw within them that gave away hints of a jest. Her failure to find one had her unsure how to respond. Unable to find a smart remark to make about his train of thought, she cautiously parted her lips in some attempt to respond. "Uh... huh," she mused with the uncertainty obvious in her voice. "Right..." Really her response wasn't really much of one at all. While she figured that his end goal might have been to make her hot and bothered (for lack of a better term) all over again, in some ways it felt sort of... endearing to have him trying so hard for it. That thought alone had a smile threatening to dance on her lips, the corners of her mouth curving slightly to indicate this. Of course the onset of it the ginger attempted to cover up by forcibly taking another bite out of the sandwich to finish her first one.
Nevertheless her question about the reasoning for his inquiry were promptly ignored, Adrian raising a brow at his apparent disapproval at her answer. The further prodding for a different answer made her realize that he was clearly fishing for something here. What he was fishing for however was lost upon her as she couldn't understand what he was after. Her apparent lack of interest in most things would come to haunt the woman at this stage as her efforts to come up with a viable answer left her drawing an absolute blank. Closing her eyes as if in defeat, she crossed her arms over her chest before speaking. "I can't say anything immediately comes to mind." If he asked for specific things, such as her favorite food or flower, then perhaps Adrian would have been able to answer easily. As it sat now after rejecting her athleticism and alcoholism, she was left at a loss.
"Why?" she'd repeat herself with a subtle raise in tone. The obvious answer was that Arkwright was trying to impress her somehow which she was highly skeptical of. Referencing her past experience with being hit on, Adrian wondered if he expected her to say something materialistic to which she had hoped after all this time that he would have known better. Yet perhaps he didn't? Might as well test this theory in the most blunt way possible then. "I hope you weren't expecting me to say something like flowers and chocolate, or something stupid like that." Her eyes focused on Arkwright's face in anticipation of a reaction. Sure she could have actually said something and waited to see if he would get it, but that would have been equivalent to lying seeing as how she legitimately was not interested in anything at the moment. Plus that would have made her no better than those superficial women preying upon the hearts of men waltzing by on the streets.

The small smile she nearly expressed was lost to Adrien, the man distracted as he'd stare into the distance behind her. The brow she cocked in question wasn't paid much heed to either, the Arkwright male far too preoccupied with his own thoughts to answer or explain himself. There should have been something, anything she liked. The question also arose as to how she lived so contently without actually wanting anything. That, or she was playing dumb which wasn't too hard to believe. He'd reciprocate her sigh when she said nothing in particular came to mind. This just became harder. Again, she'd ask as to why he was interested and yet again he'd bid his time answering that question.
"Chocolates and Flowers... " He'd repeat blankly as the thought set in, letting his imagination take over. "..." The man eruptedi nto a soft laugh just moments later. He couldn't help it, just the mere thought of her going wild for either of those was amusing and rather comedic. As romantic as either sounded, they didn't suit her style. And besides, it wasn't Valentines Day, not that she'd even accept anything from him if it were. Finally recomposing himself, Adrien would clear his throat and answer. "That'd be the day. One day maybe," He'd shrug his shoulders idly, not really giving her remark deep though , the comment mayahps harmless if she didn't catch onto it. Anyway, the redhead was far from normal, and even he knew she wasn't shallow enough to aks for such...Menial gifts.
"Buuuuut, right, "He'd move on, a small frown forming on his lips as Adrian really didn't give him anything to work with. Refocusing behind her again, he'd drift off into thought when he caught onto something in the distance and brows knitted immediately. Imaginary gears clicked and turned as a small mischievous smile formed on his lips. His good eye refocused on her visage, a finger tapping the armrest as the man hoped for some positive answer this time. "Do you like scenic views? Heights?" He'd ask, his smile turning wry. "I know a place, but!" He'd pause and lean forward, an elbow now leaning on the table. Truth be told, the ginger probably already knew of this place but it didn't stop him being vague. He'd continue with a half-truth.

Again he didn't answer any of her questions. The woman was beginning to wonder if Adrien was even listening to her anymore based on his distinct lack of any response other than a sigh. Just as the woman was about to give up the repetition of her mention of flowers and chocolate on the man's tongue would catch her thoughts. A brief pause formed from this. Adrian was unsure of where this was leading but considering that Arkwright had taken to laughing moments after, she didn't expect it to be anything good. "What's so funny?" she'd ask accusingly, assuming that he had imagined something incriminating about her without a doubt. Whether or not he heard her, his words essentially allowed her to assume exactly what he was thinking which resulted in her rolling her eyes.
Taking another sip of juice, something struck her attention as odd. "One day?" She repeated the words with uncertainty, unsure if she had even heard him correctly. Sure he was laughing about something stupid but what did he mean by 'one day'? He wasn't honestly going to try to send her chocolates and flowers one day was he? It certainly seemed like something Adrien might have done as a joke to get under her skin. Or perhaps she was thinking too much about an offhanded comment.
Arkwright's disappointed tone had not escaped the redhead's notice as she peered up from her thoughts. From there her eyes fell upon the small frown on the male's face, no doubt because of her answer – or rather lack thereof. A slight twinge of guilt would shoot at her side however no matter how hard she actually sat there to think no answer would come. Thus she ended up sitting there gazing wordlessly at her date as he went through various diverse facial cues. Once again the woman could not tell that he was not actually looking directly at her so the onset of his impish smile came rather unexpectedly and that always meant something bad when it came to her.
Another question, this time about a specific topic that simply required a yes or no answer. In spite of the suspiciousness around the entire subject, she’d answer honestly. "Sure, I like them enough." For a moment she wondered where this was going. He seemed way too ebullient for this to actually end well. Almost as if proving her right, Adrien would lean in and say some dreaded words.
Dress Code.
At those words Adrian would roll her eyes out of compulsion. Unfortunately, she wasn’t too sure where this was going. Due to her not being a native of Sinnoh she was at a loss as to what Adrien might have been referring to when he said he ‘knew a place’ which were already red flags in and of themselves. If not for her dedication to complete this ‘date’ and go along with whatever the playboy himself had planned, the term dress code would have turned her away from the idea instantaneously. However, the woman gritted her teeth for a moment and sighed instead. "Ugh, alright. What's this dress code?" She was trying...
But if he had said she was required to wear a dress though, she was out.

"Sure, I like them enough."
Hearing an affirmative answer at last caused the Galactic admin to look up at her, visibly intrigued by her reply as a cocked brow followed. After some disagreement and false leads, Adrien had finally managed to garner a affirmative from her. "Finally~" The man would comment as he heaved a sigh of relief, content that this date had that potential he desperately tried to cling onto. Fingers ran through his cobalt threads, the male reclining once more as mental plans were being chalked down.
But of course Mastry wouldn't make this easy, the query she followed up with causing Adrien to momentarily hesitate. Adrian was unpredictable, that was established, however even then there was little to a non-existent chance that she would agree to his next two words. "Semi-formal," A single, self-explanatory answer provided as to the theme, his inflection void of that initial excitement he had expressed. "But I'll make it worth it!" Recovering from his brief slump moments later, Adrien's voice would pick up as he'd hope to convince her. Jolting forward the male's sole eye got lock onto her, "Please?" A plea as lips pursed outward to form a thin line.
The Sky Tower had no dress code, at least the observatory deck and terrace didn't, the code only adhering to the restaurants housed within the tower. His small lie of sorts threatened to mayhaps anger the woman when the time would come and he knew well of the consequences. But he'd already convinced himself that he would cross that bridge when he got there. Or even if they'd get there. "I'll make it up to you in any way you'd like if you're disappointed"
A final attempt and if she still said otherwise, he wouldn't force her.

The verbal exclamation had the woman wary of what Adrien had up his sleeve, restraining herself from flinching outwardly. The creeping feeling of uncertainty brushed against the back of her neck as watched Adrien recline further into his seat. The following hesitance to her question felt as if her concerns would be further validated. Making mental note of the man's facial expression as he gave a reluctant reply, the ginger rose a brow inquisitively. "Semi-formal?" She'd repeat the words as if questioning their meaning, her eyes narrowing distrustfully. "What... does that even mean?" a mumble under her breath this time as if searching herself for the answer. Until this moment the ginger had no need to know about these types of things, her lack of interest in fashion demonstrating as such.
However the man's rush to follow up those words with reassurances made it evident to her that he knew that whatever it meant she was going to dislike. With bated hesitance the woman eyed Adrien as he pleaded for her cooperation, but pushing past her instinctive impulse to do otherwise was not so easy. "..." The hesitance was etched on her expression. This wouldn't have been an issue of Adrian had not fixated that she would attempt to go along with whatever Adrien had planned. Plus when he pouted like that, the ginger's steeled nature faltered as she debated considering his plan. It took her a moment of contemplation before she would release a sigh and a slow nod of affirmation. "Alright, fine... only because you asked nicely."
Despite that she had now agreed to whatever it was that the playboy was scheming, the woman still felt uncomfortable with the entire ordeal. This would likely continue as such until the redhead got further explanation that she would no doubt not receive. She had since given up on getting him to respond to her questions as he clearly had no intention of answering any of them, an unpleasant reminder of his refusal to answer any of her questions the last time they were in this city as well. That said she fully intended to make him hold his word to make it up to her if he didn't meat whatever nonsensical expectation he believe she had. "Looks like we have to go shopping after all" With this in mind she broke her gaze away from Arkwright as she signaled the waiter for their check. "And this better not mean I have to wear a dress."
Mentally preparing herself for the damage to her bank account, the ginger casually reached for her bag to find her credit card. She intended to pay for the meal before Adrien could notice otherwise in case he tried to stop her, hoping her comment would serve as enough of a distraction. After he had already paid for all her medical bills and spent the entire time with her at the hospital, she felt she had to do cover some of her own expenses lest her pride began weeping more than it already had.

At the mention of the theme and Adrian's lack of an outburst thereafter caused Adrien to tilt his head slightly downward, brows furrowing as it soon became apparent she didn't know what 'Semi-Formals' were. "It-..." Lips parted to speak, although paused momentarily as he'd contemplate against answering her question. She had on, multiple instances today, refuted the idea of getting dressed up and now was on the verge of doing just the opposite. Could he take advantage of that? A momentarily scenario flashed by his head, whatever scheme he was formulating quick to be discarded, for no matter what route he took in his head -- it ended up with Adrian either yelling at or assaulting him.
A sigh. There was no winning this. Not in his head anyway.
Fortunately, Adrian agreed blindly to whatever it was -- a hint of guilt creeping onto the male at the sudden bout of trust she had displayed. "Thanks," He'd grin, pushing back that terrible feeling as he reconsidered this plan of action. At the mention of shopping to do, Adrien would eye the tower behind, "Yeah, we've got time though," He'd quietly comment, taking note that there was still time before nightfall to dally in the district and make appropriate arrangements. And speaking of which, he had to make clarifications lest he wish to ruin this date.
"Y'know dress isn't absolutely ne---What are you doing?" Eyes reverted back to the scene just in time to see the waiter approach their table with the bill and Adrian leaning in for her purse. It took just a moment's observation to answer his own question, Adrien picking up his own wallet from the table at that. "Hey-Hey! I'm paying here," He'd exclaim, the thought occurring that Mastry may have assumed that they were to be paying for their own purchases. Mayhaps that was why she was so reluctant to go shopping?
"Mastry, it's fine. I've planned today's date and I will be paying for everything," He'd stress on the last two words emphasizing that today's shopping was also on him. Hopefully she'd listen as he'd attempt to slip his own card into the bill folder.

Adrian's attempts at a seamless transaction from her purse to the bill were thwarted before they even began. The waiter had come with the bill as she had requested and the timing worked in her favor. Furthermore, something had managed to catch the man’s attention which made this all the more reason for the woman to continue with her plan. However right as she was about to slip the waiter her credit card Adrien's voice had stayed her hand. Flinching as if caught doing something she wasn't supposed to, the woman carefully shifted her attention back to her date. "Please, I can pay for my own food," she’d reply defensively, watching him reach for his own wallet.
Locking eyes with the navy haired man, the redhead repressed another sigh at his proclamation. It was almost as if she could feel her pride slipping away at her fingertips as he emphasized the words ‘everything’. "You've already paid for my hospital bills and I'll let you buy me clothes or whatever, but I can't let you pay for everything," she began to explain hoping that the male would be considerate. Regardless of her protest, the waiter acted in a way to take Adrien’s side as his credit card alone would be the one that was taken away much to the ginger’s dismay. In the end Adrian would sit in her seat defeated, removing her hands from her purse out of pure reluctance.
It was not as if the woman was ungrateful for his assistance, far from it. With how meager her paychecks tended to be, the ranger couldn’t imagine how she would have managed her medical expenses otherwise. Then came the issue with having to buy clothes that would no doubt have extravagant price tags. All these things couldn’t be helped and Adrian was aware of the fact that she hadn’t expressed her gratitude among others things. Yet judging from the adamancy on Adrien’s face, the woman doubted that she would be able to have her way this time around. Thus deciding to allow the topic to drop with some hopes that Arkwright would forget, she'd seek another opportunity to pay for something later.
Now what was he saying again?
"So you actually do have plans?" she'd question in an effort to shift subjects, dropping her purse to her side as if ceding to her defeat for now. While the foreboding sensation of dread continued to loom over her, the woman still wished to know her pending fate. Knowing Arkwright, he was going to have his fun and whether it was at her expense or not was the question
Post by adrien arkwright on Sept 24, 2016 5:21:04 GMT
The woman put up a defense and despite having caught onto each and every word, Adrien wouldn't respond as his card was taken away. She could make a fuss all she wanted but why did she even want to bother doing so? It wasn't as if he was tight on cash and she knew that quite well. Yet she refused to let something as insignificant of lunch to pass without raising alarms. Difficult didn't begin to describe her at this point and honestly the woman needed to learn how to br a little selfish. "Just relax and try to enjoy yourself," A nonchalant, offhanded sigh as he'd await for the waiter's return, gathering his belonging while at it. He could never understand how paying for the hospital bills was something to go on about it because he wasn't being generous, but found it obligatory to save a life of a friend. But apparently she took it as a favour.
Turning his attention to her, he was about to continue when she'd move on, a gesture he appreciated and loathed at the same time. Dropping the subject was impressive but the fact that she caught onto his words was not. A plan he had said although it was more of things he was formulating as the day progressed. "More or less," Answered sharply although whilst being as vague as he possibly as he could. The admin would finally stand and await his date as his eye scanned the plethora of stores that burrowed deeper into the plaza. "Sooo, pick a store and we'll begin," He'd mumur and exit the cafe's vicinity whenever she did. Still staring out into the district, he'd continue - - his mind visibly wandering elsewhere as his slip up crossed his mind once more. "Just tell the attendant what you're looking for and they'll help you out," The man suspected that the simple mention of 'Semi-Formal' would give way to a plethora of options...and dresses.

IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
As expected her pleading went absolutely nowhere, her concerns being dismissed with a single phrase. "Easy for you to say," she'd grumble to herself. Running a strained hand through her amber locks, Adrian groaned in dissatisfaction. Somehow it was not difficult to imagine that events would unfold in such a way, however it was remained a hard pill for her to swallow. As she recalled, Adrien had used a similar line when she was recuperating in the Celestic hospital which was even more of an unreasonable request than it was now. At the time she had little choice but to cooperate and agreed to do so on the condition that Arkwright had kept his word. Why the man thought that the redhead would be able to take the torment laying down now was beyond her. It took reminding herself that he was trying his best that allowed her some recourse.
As Adrien would stand from his seat the ranger would wordlessly follow suit. As always his vague responses were noted and all Adrian could do was roll her eyes at him. At this point expecting the man to answer any of her questions in a straightforward manner in any capacity felt as if it meant having to sell parts of her soul to him. Thoughtlessly following behind her date as he led the way away from the café itself, his words would pull her back into reality of her present situation. Her eyes would reorient themselves from staring at Arkwright’s back towards the arrays of stores that scattered the busy streets. The instructions were simple enough, as meek as they were. Honestly Adrian was eager to walk into the first store they had come across to get this chore over with as soon as possible, and that was actually her full intention until the next set of instructions were posed to her.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Her tone took on a disbelieving inflection, turning to Arkwright as if expecting an explanation. His apparently attempts to detach himself from the actual shopping experience earned him a look of frustration as the woman brazenly reached her hand out to grab his wrist in case he tried to escape. She was assuming the worst and after all the stunts she had seen Arkwright pull, it was justifiably so. "Oh hell no, you’re not getting out of this. If I have to go through this torture you're doing it with me."
Post by adrien arkwright on Sept 24, 2016 9:10:48 GMT
"Whaaaaat?" The exasperated sigh he received caused Adrien to shrug and feign innocence as he'd continue walking towards the district. It wasn't like he was going to dissappear or leave her to her own devices, just not be part of the commotion when she eventually did erupt. Adrian's sudden grip around his wrist caused him to stop and turn, a quizzing look aimed at her before she'd clarify her. "Oh, don't worry. I'll be around in the same store... somewhere," An assurance of sorts before eyes lowered towards her grip if she hadn't already let go. A wry smile formed as he'd turn his head back to face the streets.
"But if you want to hold onto me, there are less awkward ways to do it y'know," He'd scoff and yanked his hand closer to himself. If worked according to plan, the tug should have brought the ginger closer to his side to the point where their shoulders would touch. "Less torturous this way, no?" A chuckle. His hand would slip into his trouser pocket as he'd glance at her from his peripheral view, hoping that way enough to fluster her or make her let go. But if not then he wasn't complaining, this was nice. It also made them look like they were on a proper date rather than seeming like he was being handcuffed to move along with her.
Besides, escape at this point seemed inevitable.
"Let's go then," Adrien continued to walk (and mimic his date's pace if she still held on) until his eye settled on one of the larger boutiques of the area. Rather fanciful gowns were put on display and the dresses inside seemed just as alluring. "Here?" He'd suggest and whether or not she agreed, he'd enter and scan the plethora of party wear kept on display. But as for the enquiring, he'd leave that to Mastry.

IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
Of course Adrian hadn't released her grip around Arkwright's wrist once she had gotten a hold of it. Despite the look she received and the words that he spoke, Adrian was not particularly inclined to believe him. It was not that Adrian was particularly insecure or intimidated, however the fact that entering a store to buy extravagant clothes was quite a few ways out of her comfort zone. The thought that the man would wander off to his own devices if she let go on top of this fact made her grasp tighten slightly as she looked Adrien over. "That's not what-" She had caught onto the smile on the man's lips a little too late, the sudden tug causing the ranger to stagger to keep balance.
In doing so the ginger had stumbled forwards exactly as planned. Her natural impulses drove her body to brace herself as she released Arkwright's wrist, taking a step forward that resulted in the gentle nudging of her arm against his. It took her a moment for her mind to catch up to the chain of events that lead her to leaning against the Galactic admin's shoulder, much less processing what would no doubt be classified by the man as 'playful banter' or what-have-you. "Wh-" Less torturous he would say. If anything it made it worse for the woman as a surge of heat threatened to color her face once again.
Her brows would bunch together from the discomfiture, her lips pursing from the sensation that was wrought on her form. "You're impossible," she’d gripe. She felt like she should have hated this, that she should have hit Arkwright for his little antics, yet for some reason she hadn’t. Somewhere in the back of her conscious whispered that she didn’t mind this – which was wrong. It had to be. He was teasing her again and she knew it. So why was it that her hand moved to grab hold around his arm instead?
This didn’t make sense. Adrian found that she couldn’t bring herself to face Arkwright either as she spun her head away from his view in favor of eying the stores that she had previously cared little for. Anything would have served as a proper distraction in case the Arkwright male decided to further provoke her as they walked through the streets. Without any input, the ginger was taken into the boutique of choice before she even recognized it herself. That was until one of the store clerks had greeted them upon entry which reeled Adrian back into cognizance.
This was weird.
The woman would gather this awkward laugh at the greeting as her emerald irises took to roaming the venue of the storefront. To her dismay the most prominent pieces appeared to be elaborate dresses and assorted garments ladened with lace or ribbons. Already she could tell this likely was not going to end well in her favor. Regardless the employee questioned if they needed assistance to which Adrian took as an opportunity to speed up the process of shopping, by letting the clerk potentially do it for her. ”Ah, I was looking for some semi-formal wear." She’d pause momentarily, the warmth at her side lending her consideration to Adrien before might have tried to wander off. ”For both of us."
If she had to suffer through this then he had to as well.
Post by adrien arkwright on Sept 24, 2016 22:39:33 GMT
Adrian's behavior as of recent had turned rather unpredictable and uncharacteristic of her such that it began to worry the blue haired male as to whether the medicines she had been prescribed had begun altering her demanour. Because while, as expected she did had released his wrist and grumbled, the woman had instead roped her arm around his and closed the distance between them. Adrien was momentarily stunned as warmth enveloped his arm, his head immediately turning towards her. While the woman had chosen to look away, it didn't change the fact that her hand firmly held his arm now. "..." There was no comment the Galactic admin could muster, not immediately anyway. Instead a nervous hand would run through his cobalt locks as a small smile formed on his lips, for while the gesture may have been unexpected, it was more than welcome. "You're full of surprises these days, aren't you?," A sober mumble uttered as he'd recompose himself while they walked.
Mastry seemed to have no qualms with the selected place, the woman quitely following along with and yet to release his arm. As she'd pose her question, and while he part didn't want to - - the man would slowly attempt to pry her fingers off his arm. Whether she noticed or not, her next request to the attendant had his look up in slight confusion. She had expected him to get dressed up as well and while he wasn't opposed to the idea, dealing with Mastry while she threw a fit about wearing a dress was the last thing he wanted to be subjected to. "Oh no, that won't be necessary. I can find a blazer myself. Just for her would do," He'd wave off the female attendant. He didn't need to get all prim and proper, to roll down the sleeves of his shirt and buying a blazer would have sufficed The attendant would just nod at that, her attention now on Mastry as she'd scan the woman before requesting her to follow.
"Mastry, you should go," He'd plant his feet firmly on the ground and hope she released him, forcing the best smile he could. Because whether or not the ginger chose to follow, the attendants heels would click as they approached, one of the store's latest dresses held by the hanger in one hand. It wouldn't be long before she'd emerge from behind a rack of clothes to present the lacy dress to Mastry...

Adrien's comment would be left lingering in the air without retort, the woman unable to notice the hints of unease as they continued forward. Which made it truly unfortunate that what she had taken notice to was the attempt to break her hold instead. Her gaze momentarily shifted towards where her hand had been clinging to Adrien's arm and, as if understanding the implications that were being made, scoffed lightly. Being caught up in the moment she had forgotten that this was all a big joke meant to tease her. That this didn't actually mean anything to the playboy. And really she felt stupid in retrospect.
Thus she took the hint and listlessly dropped her hand by her side. Turning her head away from the conversation being had to where Arkwright would reject the notion presented of being dressed up as well. She would have debated his mandatory participation had it not been for the attendant's prying eyes already scanning her form. The request to follow on top of the suggestion to go along with them however was met with a disapproving click of the tongue. Taking a few steps forward in what would appear to be her yielding to the request, she'd take a momentarily lapse to speak with a touch of resentment in her tone. "Don't act like you don't have any part in this Arkwright." He had made it clear he wasn't trying to actually help her through any of this part of the ordeal rather than solely paying for the expense of it. The knowledge of such irritated her to no end as she took to warily eyeing the man every so often to take note to his location as she proceed down the aisles of clothes racks.
It wouldn't be long after that her attention was snatched away by the sound of rapping heels on the floor, Adrian turning to the source that resulted in having a dress flashed in her face. Instantaneously a scowl would take hold of her expression, "The fuck?" It was an imprudent outburst on her part as the attendant was visually taken aback by that reaction. The colors weren't too bad in regards to matching the woman's hair and complexion aside from perhaps being a tad bright, but that wasn't the point here. Extending a hand to assure herself of what she had seen, her fingers brushed against the thin amount of fabric. "You've got to be kidding. You can literally see through this."
While the ranger was not exactly apologetic about her swearing, she had realized her place within the store. Recognizing her failure to clarify anything about her preferences aside from the provided words 'semi-formal' to which Adrian still had limited knowledge of, she rose her hand to cover her eyes with her palm. "Can we please just not do lace? Actually no dresses in general would make this much easier on me." As the employee would scramble back to satisfy the demands of the woman, Adrian would glance over her shoulder to make note of where Arkwright would have wandered to. She didn't expect him to actually assist her anymore in this ordeal nor assist the poor attendant left to deal with her.

"Don't worry I'm around," A blithe reassurance offered to the woman as he'd step away from her. Mastry had finally released his arm and Adrien would make an immediate beeline to the men's section, not once looking back at her. But despite what appeared to be his utter disinterest, it was more so a precautionary measure as the man would station himself at an aisle that was a decent earshot from Adrian and the attendant. While he couldn't quite catch onto their conversation, that sudden outburst of hers was definitely crisp and audible. A hand was raised and pressed against his mouth as he'd hold back a laugh, a board smile already having materialized on his lips. That reaction, for once today, was called for and part of him wondered if his absence from the scene downplayed her reaction.
Part of him felt bad for fleeing the scene although would remind himself that she was in good hands with the boutique staff; the attendant trained to out up with shenanigans of the more troublesome members since they all, in the end, paid the hefty price tag without raising issue. Either way he was adamant to make himself scarce for a little while longer, unable to pick up on anything else that followed said exclamation. His good eye continued to shift through blazers for a while longer, really nothing but finding the right size and cut his task in this place.
Another ten-fifteen minutes would go without incident on his side, Adrien finally to re-emerge with a blazer held in one hand as he'd approach where Adrian was last found to be, curious as to what he was returning to.

give it up
IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
By the time that ten to fifteen minutes would elapse, Adrian would have expended most of her energy. With her set criteria in place, the attendant had taken to scouring the store for articles of clothing that might have struck the ginger's fancy. Having little to no interest in actually exerting herself by keeping up with the attendant as they sprinted up and down the entire store, the woman stood immobile from where she had stood. Gradually several combinations of outfits were piled into Adrian's arms and she was promptly escorted into the dressing rooms to try each of them on.
Of course there were protests against this. The redhead would have been quite content with selecting the least flamboyant clothes out of the garments that were gathered without going through the hassle. Yet, no matter how much was time was invested in conveying her disinterest in the idea to the employees, the end result had remained the same. Thus the tedious task of trying on every single outfit garnered the ranger's growing exasperation, trapped within the confines of enclosed space and being made to parade in front of eager store clerks that complimented each one in hopes of maximizing the sales.
For the entirety of the time, Adrian considered whether going through this was truly worth it. To hold up her word was one thing, however the idea of throwing her commissioner title around to get wherever she needed to occurred to her. Nevertheless Adrian sighed, tugging on the edge of the form fitted blouse that adorned her body as she exited the dressing room for the umpteenth time. This time around however the woman would spot Arkwright in her field of vision, a face that she had lost to the sea of hangers and other assortments of clothes. She bit her tongue to keep herself from yelling obscenities at him from across the store as she tried to distract herself by redirecting her eyes downwards and brushing nonexistent dust from the black pants that accented her form.
"So am I supposed to be wearing this for the rest of the day or am I supposed to change into it later?" She still didn't even know where they were supposed to be going in the first place, a fact that continued to linger in her mind.
