Numb. It wasn't just his wounds that left the silverette feeling empty but the dour setting of his ward which he had to deal with for yet another week. His good hand would trace the edge of his bandaged shoulder, an attempted test for any sort of sensation. None. He sighed. The spy's shoulder felt lifeless - - it never bled that day yet was singed from the inside and warranted surgery. His leg was no different.
The sickening torture he was put through that day had left him wanting revenge. Although at the moment, it made him feel terribly helpless. Crimson eyes would stare at the ceiling most of the day as he sat reclined upon his bed, at times only looking forward to being visited by a select few. Select few, for Adrien refused to meet anyone apart from those he was closely affiliated with, paranoia running high after being assaulted a second time.
Knock! The man would snap out of his train of thoughts when there was a rap on his door, his hand instinctively reaching for the pokeball by his side. He wasn't expecting a visitor for at least another hour. Then who...? Did Jason arrive early?
"Yes...?" His voice remained shaky as his shoulders stiffened.
haunted, the spy felt haunted by his actions. he was once someone who had moral values, who believed in something, who wanted to abolish all violence, and now it seemed like he's lost all of his beliefs. he's constantly been the one outputting violence. the one attacking first, the one torturing. countless number of sleepless nights have led him here today, standing outside the hospital room of the man he tortured not so long ago.
he had waited about a week after the incident to let everything cool down first. he wasn't sure if lena knew, or if she did she hadn't confronted him about it. the thought made his stomach turn, to be known and regarded as a torturer to someone he cared for was sickening. he needed to fix things, needed to free his guilt and set things right, for both his conscious and the people he cared for.
knock knock. what was only a few seconds long felt like forever, the pause before the man finally answered. his heart pumped fast, stomach uneasy, but he had to do this. he shut his eyes and took a deep breath, a hand rotating the handle before slipping through the door.
"h-hello..." he spoke, his voice a bit soft. he closed the door behind him to stop people from listening in on their conversation. "i'm not here to hurt you, i promise." his eyes finally met the man's but only for a split second before averting away. he couldn't even look at the condition adrien was in, his eyes instead finding peace with the floor.
"please don't attack me, i'm only here to talk." he still stood by the door.

Eyes widened, pupils constricted and suddenly Adrien found it hard to breathe. Of all the people who could have entered, it had to be him. "Y-You?" The spy's voice barely escapes his lips, blood pressure rising as fear and anxiety struck him. It all happened so quickly and then... Panick dissolved. "YOU?!" His voice grew. Fear was replaced by anger, hatred and a taste for vengeance. He couldn't think straight, the pokeball in his hand would expand at a tap of his finger.
With a weak toss, the spacious ward would be occupied by a third as Dusknoir stood between its master and the enemy. The massive pokemon would stare down at the azure-haired male, ready to strike on command. "You want to talk?" His voice was forced and oozed poison. He wanted to get his hands on him.
Without forethought, the man would push himself out of bed and attempt to stand. "Gah!" Pain shot up his crippled leg the moment it touched the floor, dropping Adrien down on one knee. Fuck it. "Let's even the playing field and then 'talk'" He'd bark as he struggled to push back the pain.
"Thunder punch!" The Dusknoir would immediately flicker away and reappeared inches away from the azure haired male, a powerful punch rippling electricity raised and aimed at the spy.
he could see it; the fear, the anxiety, and then suddenly, rage. soon a dusknoir would appear, standing in the middle of him and adrien. a hand instinctively reached into his pocket, grasping at a red sphere just in case he needs to use it. then he realized; he can't. he couldn't come here asking for forgiveness then call out his pokemon. the battle would most likely level the hospital as well. so he refrained, his hand sliding back out as he stared at the dusknoir.
"calm down." words meant nothing at this point, even he knew that. he watched as adrien struggled off the bed, his eyes once again shooting away as soon as pain sounded. he gritted his teeth, trying to isolate the sounds and cancel them in his head.
when he shifted back into reality the dusknoir was in front of him, its fist glowing electric. no time to react, the punch connected, hitting liam by the shoulder. sparks danced across the spy's arm before being sent back hitting the wall, the back of his head bouncing off the wall as he grunted in pain. his body shook violently, the electricity flowing throw. what was only a few seconds felt like forever before he regained control.
"i... i know what you're feeling..." he spoke, words soft as he panted. "you want revenge..." he slowly slid back up to his feet, using the wall behind him to help. he clutched his left arm, the one that got hit. he lost all feeling in the arm, numb from the electricity.

Wild red eyes fixated themselves on the enemy, not once flinching when the thunder punch struck. Instead Adrien grinned, elated for reasons he couldn't quite comprehend. This wasn't him, he disliked violence and yet here he was - - out to kill. "Gladly..." The silverette didn't think twice when Liam taunted him.
"Brick Break. Fuck his legs up! " The cyclops had no objections in carrying out the order and would swiftly use the blade of its hand to attempt a chop on Liam's legs. His master's unpredictability was a trait he was all too used to.
Unfortunately, the ruckus from outside the ward sufficed in alerting the hospital staff. "Barricade the door..." That was all the instruction Dusknoir needed to pulse an ice beam around the edges of the door, sealing it both ways.
He grinned. He wasn't sure why, but to see Liam in pain was what he wanted. "And revenge? Oh no, I want you dead."
he felt a pokeball shake in his pocket throughout the entire situation. zu, his one true pokemon, the one that could never be replaced. he wasn't even sure if it was the mole but he wanted to believe, wanted to believe that somehow he could get out of this situation alive.
when the brick break attack came there was nothing the spy could do, nowhere he could go. he did however manage to turn his body sideways, resulting with only one leg being hit. crack. "fuck--" the sound coming from his shin most likely. he recoiled in pain, the impact making his body spin, his grip on the floor losing as he fell, luckily not on the broken leg.
scared eyes look on as he slid back, moving away from the ghost type, his back now against a wall. "i'm not going to fight back." he spoke, eyes shifting to the side to look at the man. his breathing was heavy as he spoke, shaking from the pain. "i'm sorry." those two words would most likely mean nothing, but there was sincerity behind his words. a hand quietly reached into his pocket, identifying the pokeball he needed.
"p-please stop attacking, i want to explain." he pleaded with the man, his eyes now locked onto the dusknoir. there was fear in his eyes, fear of death.

When the man fell Adrien's crazed grin just grew. He'd attempt to slowly raise himself back up on the bed, barely keeping his balance - - the pain ignored this once just to see the enemy get maimed. Murder was not his thing. Pulling a trigger was fine, but to kill in cold blood was a new concept to him. One which at the moment he was ready to try out. The banging on the door got louder but the ice did well to keep the door sealed.
"Explain?!" He'd scoff, half-amazed that Liam actually returned. "Very well... Explain," HIs voice was raspy and condescending - - exhaustion and excitement overwhelming him. The man snapped his fingers and the dusknoir would attempt to raise the azure-haired male up by his neck. The grip wasn't too tight and Liam's feet still touched the floor (albeit barely).
"Go on... " He sneered, eyes narrowing and fixated on the spy. He only wished to hear reason to satisfy his subdued curiosity after which he had already fixed a plan on how he'd end the man. The apology Liam had offered was completely ignored.
he was surprised that the man had listened to his pleads and stopped the attack. the dusknoir still came forward, a hand grabbing his neck as he was lifted. he grunted in pain, having to balance himself on one leg while he had no control over the other. the broken leg hovering a bit above ground, toes touching. he only hoped he wouldn't get dropped.
"i-i never meant for this to happen..." he spoke, every passing second adrenaline would fade and the pain would increase. "when you said her name i just snapped." that was when it clicked in his head. you idiot. was he really going to involve her in this? would she even come? options were limited, so he took a chance.
inside his pocket was also a phone, the last app being the text app he used to communicate with lena. this was going to be hard to do without looking, but he tried his best, first unlocking his phone which was already loaded to the messenger page. there was a call button, conveniently placed somewhere near the top of the screen. all he had to do was randomly mash it till he got it, but from memory he knew it would be towards the top right. so he mashed away quietly. please pick up.
all the while he was still talking to the man, distracting him for as long as possible. "you don't belong in a hospital, adrien..." it got harder to breath with the grip around his neck, he even let out a cough at one point. but the message was intended for someone listening on the other line, hopefully.
"don't kill me yet... please." the spy actually feared for his life at this very moment, even though he had called for help, even though the aerodactyl was just a click away. he felt powerless.

Her name? The man was just further irritated now. "It's all cause of that woman in the end, huh..." A quite comment. His words were bitter - - Lena Ruddy had been nothing but trouble and a face which he wanted to distance himself from. He was angry although as time lapsed his temper began to dissipate, confusion taking its place. Why was he even doing this? What was going to archive... Why--
"you don't belong in a hospital, adrien,"
Eyes snapped back to the boy, rage flooding back at what he assumed to be was a taunt. "And who's fault is that?!?" He'd yell as he snapped his fingers once more. As if on command, the Dusknoir would fling the man across the room and at the opposite wall.
"You and you're bitch, both..Tch, fire punch." He'd mumble as he notioned to the man, the Dusknoir nodding obediently and prepared a fire punch. Flickering away, he would once again appear close up to Liam - - it's fist now engulfed in flames and ready to strike.
The phone rings. This would be a welcome development, had the voice on the other end of the line not be one straining for air, or life in general. It's Liam's, of course. She told him to stay away from the both of them, but noo, he had to go and be a hero. From her place in Hearthome, he seems to be completely and utterly screwed, no way around it. Of course, she's already on the Staraptor the second she hears his voice. Veilstone is just a stone's throw away and, with haste, she makes it toward the tail end of Adrien's rage. Fire punch.
Shit.
She can barely see in through the hospital window, only the Dusknoir's tail is visible, but Lena recognizes the shoes on the ground as Liam's. "Turn around, give me speed back toward the window." Her hand falls onto a pokeball, the surface hot with energy as the cranidos inside rages, begging to evolve. Its energy is burning hot, and it was time to put it to use. It wouldn't be the first time Infant and Adrien had met, and she doubts it would be the last.
Aster was going to have her head for this.
Lancer turns, wings folded as it makes a direct and lightning descent for the window. Only when he pulls up does Lena react; using the split second of unfurling wings to release the Cranidos in mid air, sending the thing flying toward the glass. It can't hold back. The excitement, the anger, the energy- Infant evolves as it hits the glass with a zen headbutt, emerging a rampardos on the other side. His pokeball returns to her palm like a boomerang, and she keeps a vice grip on it. The broken glass has nothing on the thick-skinned dinosaur, and Infant roars in triumph as thick claws scrape against glass and tile. Jaws open to release an ICE BEAM at the dusknoir, the sharp stream aiming for the firey fist it threatens Liam with.
Lena hears screaming from the inside.
Shit.
Too late. Her actions are rash, and her mind is on a one-track setting. Lancer makes his move, the bird making a dive for the window, talons extended and reaching for Liam in an attempt to extract him. It will hurt, but he'll be out.
across the room he went, literally being manhandled by the ghost type. his legs hit the wall first, his ankle, the same side as the broken shin, dislocating from the impact, the other luckily was still fine. next was his body, then his head, bouncing off the drywall which created a hole. he was bleeding from his leg, the shoulder, and now the back of his head even if only slightly. he found it difficult to stay conscious, realizing this was probably how adrien felt but much worse. his hand even after the fall still found its way back into a pocket, it's safe haven.
he said nothing. the ghost pokemon reappeared in front of him, about ready to burn the man, then suddenly, a crash. shards of glass scattered across the room, liam turning his head away, escaping with only a few minor cuts. he panted, yelling out in pain as he tried to move towards the window. though a bit dazed by the impact, his vision was still functioning. a small smile grew across his lips, thankful that help arrived.
the rampardos now evolved attacked the dusknoir, the blast of ice too bright to directly stare at. and then he was picked up by the bird, the talons practically digging into him as he was dragged away, his broken leg scraping against the floor but eventually they got out. with the way the bird was carrying him he couldn't see where lena was, and that worried him a lot.
"no, no--" he struggled, fearing that the girl would be left behind. it was painful, every bit of movement killing him slowly but he managed to reach for a pokeball, releasing the flying dinosaur that lurked inside. no whistle came from the man, instead, an order.
He's already enroute to the hospital, today he'd discuss business with Adrien the man even after his ordeal was still his sarcastic albeit wise self, and so gaining insight and his opinion on possible moves for the organization, was something he'd plan to do regularly until the man was released. Someone like Adrien was sure to get stir crazy existing in a hospital bed for days on end. Keeping him company was the least he could do seeing as Aster was to blame for his attack.
He's nearing the hospital as he sees a rampardos hit the third floor a window shattering.
That was Adrien's floor.
He wastes no time on the outside calling out two pokemon In seconds he's mounted nine riding the pokemon to the crash site it's as he arrives he sees him. "Swords Dance, and fly ahead."
The flying scorpion does as ordered more than happy to sharpen his claws and fangs to an unneeded extent entirely. By the time the two arrive he sees the man attempting to escape. What had he done this time, the boy was so brazen he can't stand it this was far beyond testing patience, no this was a challenge now.
There's a murderous glint in his eyes now, he'd given him chance after chance to back down to stay away to even join him. Two smiles as he sees the boy in the air this was it.
No more chances. No more mercy.
Liam's life belonged to Two now, and it was finally time to collect.
He leaps off the Luxray. Keep the the Aerodactyl distracted with Thunderbolt if it attempts to interrupt strike it down immediately.
"Cut him, don't kill. Not yet."
Scar only grins at the order the already malicious pokemon immediately zig zagging in the sky almost stealthily. No one would know he was here this would be an awakening for everyone involved. The pokemon upon reaching the child would attempt run his claw through the boy's chest it wouldn't reach his heart but if it succeeded the man would be left with a deep horizontal gash across the majority of his upper body.
It was Two's mark on the boy, this was discipline.
Gliscor, Ground/Flying (Hyper Cutter)/ Luxray, Electric (Intimidate) Gliscor used Swords Dance Luxray used Thunderbolt Gliscor used Acrobatics on Liam

And the punch never hit its target.
Crash! The glass windows gave in and light inundated the room with a sole silhouette charging through it. Lena's Cranidos. Or heck - a Rampardos. Ice hit the dusknoir and took it by surpise. "Tch!" The wave of glass and the heavy pokemon landing upon the floor had Adrien fall off the bed and on his seat, a cringe as pain coursed through his body. It hurt but thankfully helped avoid the rain of glass with only minor bits and pieces scrapping him.
But apart from taking a fall, Lena's entrance did wonders in snapping him out of his fit. It struck him that he was out to murder someone -- take revenge for... What?
And then another arrived. One who he was in fact expecting albeit not so soon. "Aster...? " He'd mumble, eyes widened as he spectated. The dark-skinned male would immediately go for Liam, ripping through his chest. For once, the silverette flinched realizing the atrocity he was about to commit.
"Hades... " He'd finally call out his Dusknoir's name, the pokemon immediately flickering to its master's side as it assisted him in getting up. Did he want to stop Aster? Nay. Did he want to finish off Liam?
"No!" It's a muffled scream, drowned out by the roaring wind as Lancer maneuvers his way out of the hospital, Liam in tow. His Aerodactyl towers over them, and the hand off is almost complete-- until Aster arrives.
Liam's resentment for him transfers as watched the Gliscor rise, followed by the ripping sound of a shirt and drops of blood on the ground. Her mind goes static, rage taking over. "Take him, and get out of here!" she commands the aerodactyl who, ultimately, is in charge of its own master's safety. His safety matters, but her revenge matters more. Inside, Infant towers over Adrien, glaring down the Dusknoir. Its nostrils flare, its whole body shakes with each breath. A headbutt from it now would have ripped Adrien in half. A whistle draws its attention away. "Infant, kill." Her voice is going to go hoarse after this, but it will be worth it if the Rampardos hits its mark. It's the command it's been waiting for- mutilation, poke-homicide. It roars as strong legs launch it from the hole it made in the hospital, jaws open as it soars, aiming to clamp around the retreating Gliscor as it still soars in the air.
Whether strong jaws clamp around the pokemon or not, the Rampardos lands with a ground-shaking thud, the EARTHQUAKE created absolutely merciless for all ground units, its head lashing furiously, an ICE BEAM gurgling from its throat in a victorious cry. Lena scowls from her place on Lancer as they circle. Aster is given 5 seconds while the next pokeball falls- it seems like an eternity to her. The cloudless sky and the shining sun are drowned out by thick clouds, hail falling mercilessly as the Abomasnow towers over the field, its summoned BLIZZARD engulfing anything and everything in front of it. Infant obviously isn't pleased with the development, taking shelter behind the behemoth to escape the icy storm's rage.
Lena has to squint, but anger fuels her to go further. She doesn't care if she ends up in the hospital after this. "K12, suction." another pokeball, this time much smaller. The octillery wraps itself around her right forearm, SUCTION CUPS holding fast. "Make your mark. Aim for this legs." The pokemon turns into a weapon- a dangerous sniper that she has full control of. The OCTAZOOKA fires akin to a bullet, shark and direction, freezing into something solid, something more threatening as it covers the sub-zero terrain.
And there the blond bitch herself sits, pulling her shirt up to cover her mouth and nose, weaving through the hail clouds, ignoring the damage her own team has the potential to take in exchange to get a message across.
slash. for a moment everything was still; the skies, the city, the people below, everything felt surreal, somewhat peaceful. then came the pain, and the snap back to reality was accompanied by a whimper, not enough power for a scream. he struggled to keep conscious, vision blurring, hearing muting, everything numbing. the swap in the air happened, now in the grasp of the aerodactyl. blood oozed out of the gash, dripping down as the dinosaur flew.
he wanted to say no, wanted to scream, wanted to stay. a battle was looming, the skies going dark before hail fell. a pokeball shook violently in his pocket, his excadrill understanding that something was wrong. no efforts could be made, instead the spy remained lifeless as the dinosaur flew towards solaceon, a journey that didn't take long. he was gently placed by a building with a big plus on it. it only took a few moments before help came, horrified look son their faces as they looked at the condition the spy was in.
but nothing could stop the aerodactyl from taking off again, remembering the order given to protect. it wasn't one for taking orders, it just wanted a battle. its wings mighty as it rippled through the air, entering the dark clouds once again before landing near the girl.
