NOT TODAY [NOODS' PLOTS]

LIAM SUMMERS spy meet spy. seriously though, liam is the weirdest mix of traits that sidney would absolutely love in a coworker/fellow galactic and at the same time absolutely nothing that sidney likes in ally. he seems generally pretty calm and collected, and despite any misgivings he may have about the organization he's still working towards their ultimate goal. yet at the same he does have misgivings about the organization and has an attitude sidney would call "uncommitted".

basically sidney takes the whole party line to heart. he's a distant cold guy in the hopes of being the ideal apathetic that galactic calls for. a living example of how much better life is when you rid yourself of your emotions. and yet he's not. he's gotten pretty good at denying himself joy. smiles are rare and any inklings of joy are fleeting at best. but he's still got a temper and is admittedly pretty sulky and childish at times. and now this sounds more like a summary of sidney, but it does feed back into this plot.

i think their work place relationship for these reasons would lead to a weird kind of tension. they're fighting the same kind of fight with similar attitudes, but there's just enough dissonance to lead to occasional clashing. liam is pretty pacifistic, and seems pretty nice to his pokemon, but sidney denies himself any affection for them and treats them as the weapons he believes they're best suited to be. liam hates bullies, but sidney views it as little more than the powerful doing what needs to be done. sidney is "by any means" and liam is kind of "how it happens". idk. that's what it seems like to me at least.

so, frienemyish? closer to enemies probably, but still coworkers at the end of the day? allies but not friends?
