 Fishing was a plebian chore, one which Adrien Arkwright wouldn't usually indulge in. But when you needed to train with a little type advantage, sometimes such drastic measures had to be taken.
And so, seated by the tiny pier at the Sandgem beach, the silverette would begrudgingly hook slimy bait onto the hook of his fishing rod. The heliolisk would be seated right next to its trainer, pumped after a good night's rest and ready to battle.
"Well, let's give it a shot... " He'd mumble in slight protest. With a whip of his arm, the man would set the spincast loose and into the sea.
Hopefully he'd catch something. | HELIOLISK

The hook dipped! It seemed he had finally caught something. The man would pull back at the coil as fast as his hands could move. It wasn't a very heavy catch seeing how the reel rapidly receding. "A poliwag?" His lips twisted as he spoke in an undertone of dissatisfaction.
Well, at least it was something.
The poliwag would shoot a stream of bubble beam at the pier and it hit too, although failed to do any real damaged.
"Haah. Finish it with thunder... " The Heliolisk would fray it's frills and charge up a powerful electric attack. The attack, despite its inaccuracy, would hit this time frying up the poliwag almost completely.The poliwag would cry as it fainted and flopped back into the sea.

This time he'd hook a remoraid. Twas an alright Pokemon, nothing too exception which meant just one thing.
"Let's give parabolic charge a shot!" He'd order and the heliolisk once again frayed it frills and shot a poweful electric beam at the remoraid. It hit and singed the fish badly, sapping an adequate amount of its health and transfering it to the heliolisk.
The remoraid however endured the hit and retaliated with a water gun attack. It hit the heliolisk in the torso yet again wasn't very effective.
"Hm, parabolic charge again.." This time, the parabolic charge would properly have the pokemon faint and recover a little of the heliolisk's health simultaneously. | HELIOLISK

Did an hour or five minutes pass, he couldn't tell the monotonous task of fishing getting old rather fast. With the bait hardly moving an inch it was easy for the silverette to slip out of reality and into a daydream. From his peripheral vision, he'd see something slithering from the pier end towards him, though disregarded it until...
'Hiss'
"THE HELL?! " Adrien literally jumped out of his seat and dropped the rod. The rod would roll till the end of the pier and stop just before toppling over. Helix, on the other hand, was joltef awake by his master's yell and sprang infront of his trainer with a quick attack aimed at the ekans. The attack hit and had the snake pokemon scuttle backward.
"Haaa... again! Quick attack and then finish it with parabolic charge!" Having calmed himself down, Adrien was adamant to get rid of the ekans. The quick attack hit its mark though before it could follow up, the snake type would counter with a bite causing the helioptile to cringe.
"One more time - Parabolic charge!" This time, the lizard would successfully fray its frills and deliver a critical hit. The ekans receded back and under the pier, too exhausted to continue.
Back to fishing then.

This time he'd hook a stunfish, it's appearance and overlapping element with his party immediately earning Adrien's disapproval. But instead of having his heliolisk take it on, the silverette would instead return the pokemon and send out another.
The duskull would float about the sea surface, it's eerie gaze looking onto the confused stunfish. "It's not going to be easy, but give it all you've got. Ice beam. Twice!" He'd order and the skull type, eager to show off its skull, would immediately prepare an ice beam. A direct hit it was and the stunfish would flinch.
Gathering itself, it would retaliate with a thundershock that did a decent bit of damage. "Don't worry. Disable and the ice beam." Giving out a pumped out whisper of a cry, the ghostly pokemon would disable thundershock and finish it off with a super effective ice beam. | DUSKULL

Adrien sighed. While the fishing trip wasn't a complete failure (he was at least able to get a hook or two), it wasn't as exciting either. All the pokemon he had baited were... Mediocre to say at the least. And the next pokemon he hooked wasn't up to expections either.
"Tch. Ice Beam." Without a moment wasted in forethought, Adrien had the duskull aim a powerful ice beam at the bidoof. It hit and the bidoof would only resort to using defense curl. "...." The man was already packing up as he gave out commands.
"Leer then finish it off with Ice beam" The duskull lurched forward with a eerie stare causing the bidoof to quiver and then quickly finished it with another Ice beam. The bidoof would flop back into the waters.
"We're done here. .. " He'd sigh again, fishing was a thoroughly exhausting task. | DUSKULL
