IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
The two sighs and the shift in tone was indication enough that her boyfriend was getting aggravated and had it been about any other matter than one that so heavily concerned their relationship the ginger might have relented. At this stage Adrian always prioritized things in regards to the navy haired man and things between them, this time they were spending being proof of that. Yet as much as it pained her to have to argue with him and see him upset, it hurt more to imagine unnecessary distance being wedged where they weren't desired.
Truthfully the stalwart ranger did not even notice that she gave him a pet name in her minor rant, but perhaps if she had then the blame as to why Adrien had now removed his arm from her form could be placed there. Her frown deepened, her hands balling into fist to prevent herself from reaching out to grab hold of him again. To stop herself from flinching at the use of her name and again when he refused to meet her eyes. "..." The pause that formed, masked by the clamor of civilians passing them by, made prominent by Adrien's slowing pace to which the ranger would take notice off a second too late and end up turning back towards him as he thought. Was answering really so difficult when he was the one asking her to lie?
When he had answered however, that sole statement had caused the ginger to purse her lips into a thin line. "Adrien..." she murmured softly, her infuriation consumed by that sense of affection. That wasn't exactly the answer she was expecting and not in the manner she wanted to hear it either, making this about him instead of protecting her. It was obvious that Adrian cared little about herself but when his answer was phrased in such a way, it was difficult to argue against him. The further he delved into his concerns the more the vermillion haired woman wanted to assuage his fears, hold him close and keep him within her reach. Yet at the same time a part of her was indignant to the fact that he was rejecting her feelings on the matter, disregarding her ability to defend herself despite the memories of her failure arising at the reference to the past. The title might have been a bother but she was commissioner for a reason.
But before that she was a person.
As headstrong and austere as the woman was, Adrien was her weakness in every aspect. Being able to listen to his worries when it came to the possibility of losing her was touching if not unfounded in her eyes to which she wanted to remedy immediately. There was an impulsive step from the ginger to move back towards her lover after Adrien deemed it suitable meet her gaze, but would amount to only that and nothing more as she spoke. "You won't lose me. I told you I went into this relationship knowing what I was getting into and I accepted what it means. I'm more afraid that I'm going to lose you... again." Adrian voiced her peace, albeit this time with a pleading earnest. However when it came to the next line of thought, despite the fact that Adrian herself had essentially offered to do the same, the statement stunned her.
"I..." she tried to speak but only managed a bit before her voice trailed off in thought. She remembered remnants of this conversation in the hospital, screaming why he was in galactic and why he'd tell her such a thing. He told her, though in a rather vague way that she didn't delve into for one reason or another, and at the time she didn't question it. She was in no position to then and certainly not now at the risk of straining their relationship. Which is why the suggestion came as a surprise.
But did she really have the right to ask him to do something like that for her?
"I'm sorry," she muttered defeated under a lowered head, breaking the short-lived eye contact that was established. "I know you have your reasons and I might not understand or agree with them but I don't want that to ruin this." Adrian knew the answer, knew what her heart wanted to say. It would solve their problems for certain. No one would know that her boyfriend was in galactic and she wouldn't have to lie about him. Never again would she have to worry about crossing him on any battlefield and potentially having to clash due to their ideals. She'd voice those thoughts honestly of course, her tone taking on a crushed tenor. "I knew that was part of who you were going into this..."
But this was her being selfish. Putting her desires before his for something as insignificant as her own gratification, something she most definitely had to apologize for to complete her train of thought. "-so I'm sorry I'm so selfish..." It was the same thing that she had done when she had demanded Adrien's attention at the ball and then bombarded him with her feelings. She was just being selfish and Adrian had to wonder when she had become this way.
Unraveling her fingers from her palms, she'd bring a hand upwards to run through her hair in an effort to comb back her crimson locks out of her face. Doing so however wouldn't bring the ginger be able to reconnect her eyes to his much less ask for his gentle caress. She had no right to after what she was asking him to consider doing. "I asked you once before and my offer from before still stands but I don't want you to hate me for it. If that's the case I'd rather leave the rangers and be one less hassle for you to worry about."

The voice that addressed him was still upset if not more indignant than before. Fingers were raised to pinch the bridge of his nose as he'd calm himself and listen to her speak on. Irate irides sobered down as she spoke, realizing that her words held a blend of anger, pain and sadness. He was asking a lot from her, it was certain. Parts of him always tried to reason that Adrian was a strong individual and she could easily cope with such a predicament with ease. But part of him had to remind himself of how broken she was back at the ball, how he had caused her to break. And right now, just watching her speak of her qualms brought back those painful flashes. Frustration faded and guilt took its place. There wasn't much he could counter her statement with. Lips parted ontp to grasp air at first, and after a moment's pause, would part again. "You won't lose me again, ever..." He'd comfort her to the best of ability, his hand reaching out to grasp onto hers. Alas, how much truth his words held even he wasn't sure. He couldn't even promise on it.
At his offer and query to leave Galactic, Adrian would be at a surprising loss of words. The Galactic admin would cock a brow and tilt his head slightly as she'd think over his question. Was she hesitant? The man couldn't understand as to why seeing how it would in the end be the best for both of them. She wouldn't need to leave, he wouldn't need to hide. Besides, after he had accomplished what he wanted in Galactic Adrien had every intention of leaving. Why would he want to recreate the world? Especially now that his ideal world consisted of the ginger alone that stood before him. She was everything to him.
Adrian would finally answer and a soft expire escaped him at her hesitant words. She was being Adrian Mastry again - - doing things for his sake and compromising for him alone. How could one be so selfles--"so sorry I'm so selfish," Eyes widened in bemused disbelief. "What,?," He'd exclaim to himself, not quite looking for an explanation but more so unable to come to terms that she had just said that. Ugh, he felt disgusting. And they were talking about this here? The hand that grasped onto hers would tug and pull her along as he'd move to the side of the path and towards the railing that overlooked the sea below. "Adrian... What are you---" Adrien's murmur would be cut off as the woman spoke again.
His heart melted. His stance on their argument dissolved instantly. He'd release her hand and bring his arm to hold her head from behind as he'd close in the distance in a gentle embrace as if to hide her defeated visage from those that passed them. "You don't need to leave. You're not a hassle. You will never be a hassle for me, " Despite the gentle gesture, his voice remained firm and unwavering. "And don't apologize to me. You have every right to be selfish," Spoken as he'd recoil his head to meet her visage. Hands would slide down to the sides of her face as he'd gaze into emerald irises. "You've been the most selfless person I've ever met. And you have every right to be selfish. Be as selfish as you want. Please." He'd plead again. He meant it. "Ask whatever you want from me, Adrian. Ask whatever you want of me," Adrian had never wanted anything for herself and if this waa what she wanted, then he'd cave in. He had to.
He'd close the distance between them as a kiss was planted on her forehead. A kiss meant to vanquish her worries, to rid that somber expression. "You're my everything. Understand that. " He'd smile, nary a care given to the fact that people may be watching. He wasn't about to let his lover's insecurities get the better of her just because people may be staring. Eyes lowered to lock onto her features as his head hovered inches away from hers. "I'm sorry for what I said. We'll cross that bridge when we get there. Forget about it, okay. You don't need to lie," Adrien would try to comfort her - - genuine about each work spoken. His voice turned unexpectedly blithe suddenly as his forehead touched hers and nuzzled it slightly.
IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
She wanted to believe him. She wanted to trust him when he tried to assure her that she wouldn't lose him ever again, but how could she after listening to him ask her to distance herself from him by lying? The single thing that had given her any form of solace in that regard was the fact that Adrien assured he wouldn't lie to her anymore. She had to believe in that. As if to reassure her of that, a gentle warmth had reclaimed the hand that had fallen lifelessly at her side. Unfortunately even his touch had done little to revitalize her hand after the first time it was left, unable to form even a slight grip as it remained seized his grasp.
Why did they have to have this type of conversation here when they were in public? Why did it have to be now when Adrian was still high strung from work? Why couldn't they have just been happy together with no strings attached? Once Adrien had exclaimed in his perplexed disbelief, her heart dropped with the weight of an anvil falling from the sky. Of course that was going to be the answer. She should have been content, accepting him for who he was and what he wanted; not asked for him to abandon his goals and ideals for her. She had known better and yet expected so much out of someone else for her own sake... it made her feel disgusted with herself. Honestly the woman wouldn't have blamed him if he had indeed turned to hate her for her selfishness, unable to bear the thought as she was pulled along towards the overhanging vantage point. Having fallen silent after her spiel, she turned her head away in shame, enduring the heavy beating pounding against her chest.
Naturally the crestfallen ginger didn't anticipate being comforted in the slightest, the sensation of being consumed by a warm embrace feeling oddly foreign despite her body welcoming the gesture without question. It overwhelmed her, baffling her to further speechlessness. After all that she had said, why? She didn't deserve this. She didn't deserve to be comforted as if she was the one hurting - as if she was being reasonable. Yet at the same time she'd consent herself to it all the same, hiding her face into his shoulder as he held her close and spoke in that soothing voice of his.
With every sentence he spoke it felt as if he was unraveling a knot at her core, easing the entangle mess that was her insecurities. Even now Adrien was being considerate and accepting of her, yet all she could do was be selfish and critical. The caress of his fingertips as they traveled down her jawline and force her eyes to drown in his mesmerizing golds made her lose all will to fight back. Taking in every word he had to impart, incapable of speaking against him at this stage, an odd type of superficial happiness welled inside her. How could he say that with such a straight face and accept that fault? To ask her to accept that fault by having her embrace it? And with that blessing that was that sympathetic kiss to her forehead with such an audacious statement, the ginger could only exhale a haggard huff while she made note of his smile as reassurance.
He truly was her specialized drug.
"I love you, Adrien." Those words came from the bottom of her heart. They always had but this time they weren't said in either desperation or reverence, rather in complete devotion. He'd apologize, take back his demands and ask her to forget, going as far as to ask for forgiveness when it should have been the other way around. Adrian was in awe at how lucky she was to have someone like him as she returned his nuzzle. "I don't deserve you," she whispered sincerely. Finally finding the energy necessary to raise her arms, they were brought around Adrien's lower torso in a loose hold. How he could ask her to be selfish and still accept her she would never know but, "If you want me to be selfish then..."
There was a hesitant pause, the guilty redhead thinking over what to say as she swallowed a breath. Her gut demanded that she speak her mind, to not hold back, to let him know what she wanted. 'It's want he wants' she mind tried to reason. So she had to say it. "I want you to leave Galactic. I want you to believe in me. I want you to be safe and stay by my side forever." At first the request came at a murmur meant for only their ears, but with each sentence came with an increasing volume and a growing conviction. Those were important to her however what she wanted most of all was, "I want you to promise me that we'll stay together, no matter what."
Adrien didn't need her forgiveness. Adrian understood he was trying to protect her because he cared about her well-being as undeserving as she was to it. Perhaps that was why she felt so comfortable in his arms and took quiet delight whenever she got to see his smile. He didn't need forgiveness but as long as she was being selfish - as long as he was so close - then what she needed to bring ease into her being was...

Adrien's smile faded immediately at the ginger's intial response. She sighed and the man could only assume that his words and actions were ineffective. Feigning another smile, the cobalt-haired male would swallow down his dejection as he'd gentle recline his head to give her the space she apparently wanted. "O-Oh..." Genuinely bemused for a moment, he would blankly stare at Adrian as her words set it. Despite seemingly out of place, those three words meant a lot to him when she spoke of them and the sentence that followed just brought back a childlike elation he couldn't explain. "Ahah..." An awkward acknowledgement of sorts escaped him as the amber-eyed admin would refrain from making a light comment lest risk ruining her volatile mood further. Her arms would wrap around him and the Arkwright followed suit as his hands would release her face and rest on her shoulders.
She had taken his word concerning her lack of want and desires, or at least the lack of making them apparent. Brows furrowed when she paused, keen to be made aware of what she wanted. Adrien's expression hardly wavered as she firmly spoke of what she wanted - - from leaving Galactic to remaining steadfast besides her - - they were all possible. To leave Galactic for her sake could be arranged in the near future. To trust and believe in the woman he loved came naturally. The mere thought of staying by her sight forever warranted a broadened smile on his features. However, it was her final demand that caused his to nervously break eye contact for a split second. No matter what, she had appended that and requested that he promise over it. Reality hit the man like a freight train, for while Adrien had conceded on coaxing the woman to lie, he was still adamant on using other means to prevent her name from being tarnished.
"Adrian, I ca-... " Reverting his gaze on hers, there was momentarily hesitation eminent in his inflection as he sought the best way to evade swearing upon it. Because even if it killed him, Adrien refused to break her trust again. A sharp expire would resound as he'd finally answer, unable to precisy formulate his words. "I promise," Eyes lowered in defeat, realization settling in that the woman had triumphed over this argument entirely. The dejection was momentarily however as he'd affectionately settle his sights on her. "I will never let us drift apart, I promise," His intonation held genuine passion as he stood by every word spoken. He had given his oath and now, even if all hell broke loose, he would abide by it. All because - - 'I love you,' - - and nothing else.
Adrian's final demand caused a wry smile to surface on the male's lips - - grateful that sole request had managed to lighten his mood significantly. "Do you even need to ask?," Murmured as hands repositioned themselves on the railing either side behind her. Leaning forward, lips parted as he'd attempt to engulf her own a good while. He'd refuse to part until the lack of oxygen mandated it. But until then, Adrien would savour the sensation of her lips. This was his paradise.

IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
While there was hardly a response from the navy haired male towards her rather bold proclamation, appearing to accept her opinion here as fact amidst the blank expression he was giving, he had returned some of the affection regardless. Adrien had made his stance known from the firm grip of his hands on her shoulders and the furrowed appearance of his brows to which the ginger could only take heed to. As she began from start to finish not once did Adrien give a verbal response of affirmation or rejection to her demands, though her emerald eyes did make note of his constantly shifting features as she spoke. Honestly she wasn't sure how to feel on that. On one hand it felt as if he was actually considering her selfishness, the smile on his face giving her a brevity of hope. On the other however she understood that she was asking for a lot that she couldn't possibly expect to be fulfilled and, as selfish as she was, still wished for some sort of vocal indication from him.
It was only on the final request that Adrien would hint dissatisfaction, the faltering gaze of the male not missed by the ranger's watchful eyes. He'd start speaking again and from the beginning of his attempted statement alone did she instantly regret making that silent wish for a response. Why else would he hesitate as he was and sigh as if he was disappointed? Reactively her lips pursed as if to prevent another outburst and prepare for the worst. The statement that he couldn't promise because they couldn't stay together no matter what.
Because it wasn't possible...
But as if to eradicate that doubt, those two words signifying an oath that been voiced. They sounded reluctant as they did melancholy to which hardly moved the frown inset on the commissioner's features, unable to determine if he truly meant to keep his word on the matter. The next words helped mend her apprehension however as a newfound vigor was placed into delivering a new promise. To never let them drift apart. Somehow it had given the uneasy ranger something to grasp, for this was not directly part of her demands but fed into them by his own volition. She still wouldn't know what he was thinking but at the least that promise had given her solace in the longevity of this relationship they had together.
When it came to her final demand, Adrian held back the compulsion to answer the apparent rhetorical question; holding back the 'yes' in her throat despite the taunting smile on his features as he had come in closer to oblige her. After all of the selfish requests that she had made, it felt only logical that this equally as selfish one was presented all the same. Yet at the same time, as Adrien's arms had trapped her between him and the metal rail behind her, she thought herself all the more foolish. This was what she wanted and thus as Adrien's lips came for hers, the ginger would lean towards him eagerly and indulge in the succulence that was his kiss.
However long it lasted, Adrian wouldn't notice. It didn't matter how many people saw her like this or how rapidly Adrien had stolen away her breath each time. This simple act had performed wonders to her stress levels, the tension in her body melting away from the seductive warmth that consumed her. Her entire mind emptied itself in favor of focusing entirely the passionate sensation from his capable lips. Of all the things that the ginger imagined she would regret, asking for this was not one of them.
Once they were forced to part, Adrian could barely bring herself to pull backwards as she stared into her lover's eyes adoringly. "Thanks," she whispered breathlessly as a delicate smile returned to her. Honestly it amazed her how reliant she had become on those brief moments of blissful delight as an aide. "You're really good at that."
Without removing her hands from around him, the crimson haired woman leaned backwards to have her arch of her back pressed against the railing so she could have a better view of her lover's visage. Honestly she should have just been satisfied with him being there and part of her was tempted to leave the conversation at that. It would have left an ambiguous conclusion though and made their argument essentially unresolved.
Unfortunately being the type of person Adrian was, she didn't want to be left with more questions and worries, so with a halfhearted sigh she continued. "Will you consider it?" she managed to utter softly among her passing thoughts. Of course she meant at the least the first part about leaving Galactic. A tall order given he had already denied her the first time despite having suggested it himself. The rest could come later and fall where they may, but the root of how this conversation started rested in their allegiances. "I know I'm asking for a lot, but I'll make it up to you somehow."
Because if he wasn't going to leave Galactic, she was going to leave the rangers - even if it was against his wishes. It was better than the alternative and Adrian was hard pressed to think of any other way.

As their lips finally parted, Adrien's intial frustration over their argument would completely dissipate. Her hold around him mandated that he lean forward slightly and his hands released the railing behind them to rest his forearms over them now. There was some solace in being able to share a kiss and drown their worries. "Mhm," The Galactic admin would dismissively acknowledge her gratitude for the kiss, finding it unnecessary since the gesture was enjoyed mutually. However the compliment that followed brought about a smug smile on his lips. "Yeah, I know I am," He'd chuckle shamelessly, unwilling to break eye contact.
Eyes would settle on the sea behind them and in the distance as he made himself comfortable. It was only when she spoke again that Adrien would show momentarily confusions in his amber irides. "?" Lost was one way to put his perplexed expression, Adrien was unaware that he hadn't quite conformed to her demands. "Ah yeah," A small exclamation as the cobalt-haired male would be nudged back to the conversation at hand from his momentary bliss. "Yeah... I'll leave Galactic. Don't worry about it, I've just got minor tasks to get out of the way and I swear, I'll leave after it." He'd answer casually. He wasn't lying - - once Liam was neutralized as a threat and Aster's vision for Galactic had been made into reality - - Adrien would distance himself from the organization.
As for her other demands... "I believe you, I always have," Half-lidded eyes would stare at her supple skin as he'd gently rest his head on her shoulder. The ginger hadn't ever lied to him and he doubted she would in the future. If anyone, it was he who had to to mend his less than morals ways... And he would, only because she asked of it. "And I'll stay by your side. Forever if you'll have me," There was nary a hint of hesitation eminent in his tone. He wasn't objected to this arrangement at the slightest.
A scoff escaped him as she followed. "Yeah, you'll have to make it up to me..." He'd murmur as a sly smile was made apaprent on his features. Adrien wasn't kidding -- if it helped coaxing her to do a few things she wouldn't otherwise, he'd take it. But for now, eyes closed as he'd nuzzle his face into her neck, closing the distance between them into a sort of embrace. People could gawk and stare all they wanted, all he wanted was her and staying this way for a while longer was something he hoped she'd oblige to.

IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
A scoff was all the ginger could respond with upon staring into her lover's eyes amidst his egotistic boasting. That was to be expected considering his cheeky attitude and it was her own fault for enabling such a comment to be made. That said, it did help lighten the mood and oddly enough was a reminder of how things hadn't changed much. Adrien was still that same pretentious idiot, but at the very least he was her pretentious idiot. Thus as he had shifted to make himself more comfortable, the green eyed ranger would bring her arms upwards to lovingly tighten her hold around him. The more often she was exposed to doing actions like hugging and things like this, the more used to it she was becoming.
While the ranger had caught onto the puzzled look, she wouldn't have the chance to say any explanation before an exclamation followed suit. It was as of he was reminding himself of their conversation and a tinge of guilt struck her upon recognizing it. Yet he'd still indulge her all the same, remaining lighthearted as he began to assure her of all the things she had demanded. He'd leave Galactic, going as far as to swear on it, after concluding these so called 'minor tasks' that he claimed to have to do. While tempted, Adrian knew better than to start asking about whatever galactic affairs that her boyfriend might have gotten himself involved in. Knowing him, these tasks that he intended to accomplish were far from minor and it was better for now to stay ignorant lest her sense of duty get the better of her. Sighing at that knowledge, she nodded in agreement to the stipulation. Having him entertain her selfish notions, she was hardly in a position to disagree or rush him into it. "Alright. Just be careful." Concern laced her tone as her mind thought over the possibilities of having to interfere with whatever these 'minor tasks' were or even whatever lengths it would take to actually leave Galactic as a whole. Being chased afterwards was a matter that Adrian didn't give a second thought to. It was the during that the worries laid. Almost as if to convey that, she'd speak up cautiously. "Don't get into any trouble." For now she'd accept Adrien's word without question and resolved to wait patiently... at least until it became a larger and unbearable concern.
As for the rest of her demands, the ginger hardly expected such wholehearted and forward statements to be made so quickly with such certainty in his tone. It certainly put to rest some of those lingering doubts that silently plagued the woman's conscience. The belief in her, the statement that he always had, definitely dissolved that fear in her system. She wasn't sure what she had done to deserve it, but once she felt a small weight placed upon her shoulder, she wouldn't question it all the same as her gaze shifted to the cobalt strands that rested so close. With him so close to her, so affectionate and vulnerable, Adrian wanted to hold him closer and keep him safe in her grasp no matter the cost. The final statement he'd assert was the one that had solidified the smile that lit up her face however, her lips settling into that unfamiliar position that was so foreign to her up until those weeks before. Stay by her side forever. That concept being possible alone on top of the fact that Adrien agreed to it made her feel as if this was just some perfect fantasy of a dream. "I wouldn't wish it any other way," she whispered tenderly into his ear without moving an inch to keep this dream alive as long as possible.
She was hopelessly in love, there was no denying it. Plus with their latest proclamations it was almost as if they had just said their vows for marriage. A funny thought considering the current set of circumstances. Nevertheless a soft murmur would reach her ear to affirm the intention to make up for her selfishness. Again it was to be expected and the ginger had no reservations about fulfilling her word on the matter despite the dubious implications held within his voice. "Of course. I said I would." Because no matter what was demanded of her, she was dedicated to doing whatever it was that her boyfriend requested. Even if it was to wear a dress again or even having to lie about anything except her relationship with him, she'd resolve to do it. A resolve that was then doubled upon his nuzzling that tickled her neck. A soft chuckle was released at the sensation as a hand was withdrawn from the hold to brush up his back in an effort to bring her fingers through those silken blue threads. "Whatever you want."
It was then that the ginger deemed it safe to close her eyes and embrace everything about this moment herself, taking in his warmth and the mingling sounds of the whistling breeze against the ocean's sloshing waves. It didn't matter that she was in uniform or how many people had taken notice of this little public display, blocking out the chatter and the footsteps of everyone else around them not a difficult task as it was a skill that the ranger had honed long ago. For now she would be content here until forced to do otherwise or by the will of the man in her arms. "For now, how about we just relax and enjoy the rest of the day?"

"Just be careful," Adrian's immediate response to his question garnered both his amusement and concern. In lieu of the anticipated satisfaction, Adrian expressed concern to an answer which he was certain would jave satiated her demands. The cobalt-haired male could only assume that the woman had some notion of his plan of action. That, or she still remembered their conversation back at the Celestic Hospital. Either way, he appreciated Mastry's choice to stray away from questioning him further about it. While badgering him for information wouldn't help the rangers much, his 'tasks' themselves would perhaps cause their day to go downhill. "I'll be careful," He said as he soberly affirmed to her request as he'd attempt to quell her apparent unease.
Her breath brushing against his ear caused his lips to broaden, the adorable words that accompanied it making the moment even more enjoyable. In one way, they had indeed vowed to stay together through thick and thin. Twas a thought that didn't strike Adrien too deeply, however felt different nonetheless. Emotional connection to such an extent was something he hadn't experienced before. To flirt and to have flings were superficial and were some form of entertainment. His previous relationship, despite amazing on its own, was void of this depth, too. Before Adrian Mastry had entered his life, the Arkwright would have dismissed and ridiculed such dialogue as 'sappy' and 'pathetic'. Fortunately or unfortunately, that wasn't the case anymore.
Perhaps he should have felt ashamed, but there some sort of security in being in her arms - - almost as if he was the one being protected. Her presence was something he had come to cherish and depend on; a presence which without there was little purpose. Adrian spoke again about making it up to him and the cobalt-haired male almost felt bad about how understanding she was being. Almost. This was one favour he wasn't going to pass on. "Mm.. " A curious murmur escaped his lips when the woman chuckled upon being nuzzled. So the ginger was a bit ticklish... Noted.
As slow minutes drifted, gold eyes became heavy and the man was ready to completely sink into her shoulder when her voice would cause him to stir. "Oh, yeah... " He'd mumble to himself as he'd finally lean off her frame. Planting his feet properly on the ground again, Adrien looked disheveled and drowsy from having grown excessively comfortable. The cool sea breeze and pleasant weather did little to counter his soothed demanour. "Yeah, that's what I dragged you out for..." He'd smile lazily as a hand ran through his hair and tried to set it back into place.
The fact that they reached such a disheartening subject was honestly his fault and he knew it all too well. Twas time to keep the rest of the day as light as enjoyable as possible lest he risk ruining her mood after a close save. "A long break. Basically you're off the rest of the day," He'd scoff and grin as a hand extended out to grasp onto hers. He'd gesture an arm outward and towards the path before them motioning her to walk along side him.
Rich, gold sands soon would soon come into view as they'd tread forward. While he wasn't a beach person, the cobalt-haired male would turn to the ginger as a peculiar question came to mind. "So what do you do for fun?" He'd ask as he'd eye her. "And don't say paperwork," Adrien would append moments later under the assumptions that his girlfriend seemed to be trapped inside the Ranger HQs most of the time. Her presence was probably necessity there, but otherwise, he wondered how she spent her days off.

IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
The lethargic response and the following sluggish motions from the man in her arms as he shifted away had the ginger stifle the initial onset of disappointment that threatened to appear on her expression. Reluctantly releasing her hold from around Adrien as he recollected himself, her gaze lingered on the languid expression he wore. It felt almost as if she was witnessing a novelty; a peaceful face from a visage that normally held either a taunting smile or a more somber appearance. How was it that one man could look so enchanting? "You can take a nap if you're tired, you know." She'd speak lowly in case the suggestion was considered. It was quite obvious that Adrien had gotten comfortable and dozed off, and since she hardly minded the prospect of holding him as he slept, it felt like a pleasant way to spend part of her day.
To reaffirm her original suspicions that the rest of her day was going to be taken over, the remark of taking a long break resulted in an amused scoff from the commissioner. "Right." At this point she could hardly argue against the prospect, rescinding herself to the fate of having such a spoiled boyfriend as the warmth of his hand slipped into her palm. "And next thing you're gonna tell me is that I need to change out of my uniform into a sun dress or something." Mostly the comment was said in jest but there was some curiosity of whether he'd bring up the subject. While it wasn't as if she disbelieved in the golden eyed rogue's ability to steal her away, she wondered if he actually intended to have her take the day off with him so abruptly.
Nevertheless Adrian pushed herself off the railing to follow alongside the navy haired man towards whatever destination he intended to travel to. The sight of the opulent sand-filled coast as they approached however did bring a puzzled look to the ranger's brow. Again she could hardly bring herself to make a complaint, but she would silently question why Adrien had brought her here after confirming he wasn't a beach type of person. It lasted for only a moment of course and, regardless of the reason, it was still time spent together. Thus she'd suppress that fleeting thought just in time for her focus to be entirely directed to the words being spoken to her. The question posed however had brought about an equally bewildered expression.
Yet perhaps that was fair. While they were dating now, most of their interactions before then were instances of irrefutable disdain or controversy. It was a good mix of Adrien being a pompous prick and Adrian herself not being interested in divulging anything about herself afterwards... at least before the incident. It was undeniable they still had a good bit to learn about each other, though when paperwork was brought up as a potential thing that was done for fun was when the ginger would huff in denial. "I never will. I hate that kind of thing," she'd proclaim adamantly. That said while there was quite a lengthy list of things that the temperamental redhead disliked; when it came to things she liked, it became a more difficult task to muster a proper response. She'd take a minute or so to think it over, the idea of this question being vaguely familiar from the last time they had gone out together, and ironically a unintentionally similar answer arose from it as well. "Mostly sports related things, so things like surfing or jogging? Though I hardly have the time anymore."
There was a shrug that was provided along with the answer and for the most part it was all truth. Before being promoted, Adrian had spend much of her off time training along with her pokemon or drinking herself under the table provided she had the following days off. Nowadays, that time she had taken for granted on the field was spent cooped up in an office going through papers. The thought was depressing to say the least, hinted as such with a heavy sigh. However, the more she had thought on it, even if she did have time there wasn't too much of an urge to go out drinking anymore. Once that thought had come to mind, her gaze would shift from the expansive road ahead of them towards the man at her side. "Spending time with you is now high on my list though," she'd finally offer with a slight nudge of her elbow into his side.
Her lips parted slightly to reflect the same question before a memory had stopped her. "I don't know...? I don't remember." The memory that lingered haunted her and she had to bite her tongue to keep from recounting the emotions that had run through her that night. Part of her hoped that if she had asked again there would be a new answer but a fraction of a doubt stopped her, forced her to amend the question in hopes of having a more fruitful response. The last time she had gotten infuriated and she didn't want to have a repeated experience. "What about you? What are some things you like?"

"Maybe later," Adrien responded almost instantaneously and lacked forethought at her considerate offer. He was not opposed to such a suggestion and in-fact was tempted to indulge in it. But the navy-haired male had to bear in mind that he had persuaded his lover to leave the confines of her office in order to spend time together. She was definitely not about to be used as his personal pillow. When it came to the subject concerning her break, sarcastic responses from the woman poured out one after the other. And unsurprisingly so. The cobalt-haired male had grown accustomed to her sarcasm although it was quite obvious that her inflection lacked that vehemence she spoke with before they had officially established their relationship.
"Sundress, huh?," The Arkwright male mischievously mused over the thought as he'd eye her. A sundress would look adorable on the woman, although seeing how they were heading to the beach another sly suggestion found itself surfacing in the male's mind. "A sundress would look nice on you. But a swimsuit would look nicer, wouldn't it? " He'd chuckle softly as eyes gazed at her for any sort of reaction. Anything apart from her ranger garb would suit her in his opinion although he was curious as to how she'd respond to that suggestion.
Either way, he'd keenly pay heed when Adrian graced him with an answer. She hated paperwork? He'd scoff lightly at her answer, unsure of why she was tormenting herself then. "Why do you do it then?" Asked as he'd piece things together - - from Adrian eager and ready to quit as commissioner to the fact that she abhorred paperwork. Why'd she take the mantle then? Whatever it was, Adrien refrained from making a face at her list of apparently fun things to do. While the man knew his girlfriend was the athletics type, the things that entertained her were... "Exhausting," He'd murmur to himself unable to quite imagine himself 'enjoying' physical activity and more so indulged in a few numbers for the sake of his health.
The sigh that parted her lips hadn't gone unnoticed and Adrien could only wonder what caused her to show momentarily dejection. He was about to ask when the last of her quips caused his smile to turn slightly bashful, unable to retort to that. Instead his hand tugged her closer when she nudged him. "Likewise," A mumble as his grasp tightened, the urge to kiss her held back for now. It wouldn't be long before they'd reach the concrete set of stairs that led down to the beach. And it was around now that the ginger would pose her own query.
"What I like?" He'd repeat as he'd give her question a moment's thought. Apart from a few materialistic goods he liked to indulge in, the cobalt-haired male couldn't think of anything. He could tell her he liked to play around and harmlessly flirt but the man was well aware she'd disapprove of such an answer. But there was one thing he was into and couldn't deny it whatsoever. "I like uhm, antiques and books," He'd finally answer after giving his answer some thought. A pause before he'd provide some elaboration of sorts. "I like researching lore and history, and knowing more about Pokemon," There was a glint of excitment in his eyes as he'd speak, ready to rant on at the smallest hint of invitation to do so. He was passionate about it there was no doubting it. But even then,
"But there is something else I like even better," Spoken with a tamer inflection as shoes sank into the sand. Gold irides turned to face emerald ones, a wry smile flashing on his features before the distance closed between them momentarily. "You!," A quick kiss was planted on her lips if she so allowed. He'd savour the warmth of her lips for those few seconds permitted before recoiling his head. "Yeah, I love you," He'd grin and keep the mood light whilst satisfied with claiming his reward for that answer.

IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
The immediate rejection of the suggestion to nap didn't much faze the woman who merely raised a brow at the response. While she was going to voice that she didn't mind, the man had already looked to have brushed off his fatigue with ease and was tugging her along by his side that made that idea moot for now. Once the words 'sundress' was repeated however, that was when the ginger pursed her lips and began bracing for some kind of playful tease in regards to wearing a dress. Thus once the term 'swimsuit' came into play, she'd scoff at the very thought. "No," she'd answer promptly, not willing to entertain that thought. "And that wasn't a suggestion."
It made sense why such an idea came into being since the two were headed to the beach, however there was no doubt that the cobalt haired man was imagining something entirely different from what would be realistic for her own tastes. Thus as if anticipating the suggestion, she'd speak against it before it would even arise. "You also aren't buying me a swimsuit so don't even think about it." In some ways, perhaps that hinted that the ginger was willing to wear something swim related and that would be true to some extent. Adrian didn't mind wearing a swimsuit in general if they intended to actually do beach related things, not only did they both clearly not have any swimsuits to go along with the idea but there was some apprehension that was previously unknown to her tugging at her conscience. She couldn't tell why that was, only that it was stemming from the idea of wearing a swimsuit specifically.
In any case at the scoff made to her statement followed with the question, the green eyed ranger would raise a brow incredulously as she gave a sideways glance. Was he being serious? Wasn't he the heir to some elite company of some sort? Or perhaps he truly was that spoiled that he didn't have to suffer through tedious things for his own company. Regardless the woman would answer seriously, if not reluctantly, as she shift her gaze off into the distance ahead of them. "Because I have to. It's part of my new responsibilities," she'd state somberly. Bringing her free hand to run through her scarlet strands, she'd halfheartedly continue without giving her words much forethought. "How do you think the rangers are still functioning as an organization? The commissioner has to keep everyone and everything in order or no one else will."
As much the callous redhead had complained about it all, she had performed her duty knowing that each task that was mandated from her as commissioner was some sort of necessity. All in an effort to keep knowledgeable about things in regards to the region and the organization, and be decisive for the sake of the branch of rangers in her control. That said, she didn't think that meant that she was important as a person in any capacity. Any competent person could have done it with some effort, and Adrian was simply the person that had that responsibility passed onto her.
Course the efforts made by team galactic and team rocket against them to disrupt the peace they tried to uphold didn't help, but she'd refrain from mentioning that in the face of her current galactic lover. At least for now lest she ruin this time they were spending together further.
Speaking of which, she was eager to stray from the topic of work which is why she had continued upon the original line of thought of the question at hand. While Adrian could hear the low murmur coming from her lover's lips, she'd entirely miss what he had said altogether, the conflicting noise that surrounded them had overlapping and overpowering the low voice. Yet the fact that he had murmured... perhaps he expected something different? If she recalled correctly, he had done the same thing when she answered at the Jubilife Café that further contributed to whatever strain of despondency was in her sigh. However upon receiving the tug that brought her closer to his side, her arm now pressing against his, those thoughts would fade away as the corners of her lips teased upwards. A simple whisper, the word that returned her sentiments, was all it took to alleviate the ginger's worries. There was a brief appreciative exhale of a laugh as she felt the grip around her hand tighten, her eyes trailing to their interlocked hands as she made note of how it comforted her.
While it took the golden eyed incubus a few moments to answer her question, Adrian wanted nothing more than to actually receive an explicit answer. Thus she'd wait patiently, keeping her gaze on his visage as they descended the steps to bring them towards the sandy beachfront. Thankfully he had indeed provided a solid answer, but it was certainly one that the female hardly anticipated from her flirtatious lover. She could have questioned the authenticity of the answer but as Adrien had continued, she felt no need to do so. Instead she'd wear a satisfactory smirk upon catching glimpse of an eager Adrien. "I didn't take you for a scholar," she'd muse offhandedly with a slight trace of elation in her tone.
Yet whatever happiness she attained from receiving his answer paled in comparison to the one that filled her upon his next declaration. Pausing once offered the idea of another thing that he had cherished, a faint blush of red would light up her cheeks upon the swift delivery of the line and the sweetness of his lips onto hers. It was unexpected but certainly not unwelcomed, the woman relinquishing herself to the pleasurable sensation of the kiss for as long as it was granted onto her before it had been taken away seconds later. "You idiot," she'd mumble adoringly after his affirmation of his affection. While the reclusive woman was still a far ways away from being able to hold a large grin onto her features, it felt undeniably easier to bring a larger smile onto her lips after seeing Adrien doing so for her with such a silly line. "I love you too."
Though they had finally reached the beach, the serene sounds of splashing waves with wingull cries indicating as such, Adrian couldn't bring herself to shift her emerald eyes away from her lover. "So what's the plan?" She'd bring herself to ask as an endearing term would play at her tongue.
Surely after bringing her to the beach her boyfriend had some plans as to what to do there, right?

The woman would immediately shut down that chain of though, causing Adrien’s lips to purse in slight disappointment. It wasn’t as if denial was not expected at such a request, although the fact that she didn’t give it even a moment’s thought caused him to sigh in defeat. “And what if—“ Lips parted to verbalize another suggestion when he was beaten to it and Adrien blankly stared at her at, frightened at the thought that the woman was able to read his mind. Buying her swimwear did cross his mind – a day such as today where the beach was sparsely inhabited was perfect for what he was imagining. But if not today, then…”Mm, maybe someday,” He’d shrug his shoulders as he’d drop the topic for now.
Adrien didn’t ask further concerning her job despite a number of questions inundating his mind. He certainly wasn’t satisfied with the entire Ranger HQs being run by a sole commissioner. Even a crime organization such as his maintained more order with Admins in place. There was always a system in place be it at the company or at Galactic, but by the way Adrian answered, apparently not at the Ranger Headquarters. It irked it him only because it meant his girlfriend was overloaded with work and couldn’t find as much as free time as he’d hope. Because of that, Adrien was ready to throw as many tantrums as he could if it meant he could enjoy her company.
Her slight disbelief at his answer caused amber irises to flicker up to her and his lips to twist into a wry smile. “What sort of answer were you expecting?” He’d eye her and ask lightly, now curious to know. He wasn’t surprised – not many took him to be into history and research. That is, unless they stepped into his room or office where books were stacked and stuffed at every spot on his desk and shelves he could manage. But whether she answered or not, it didn’t matter for the kiss they shared caused him to drift off again. “Aw, you’re blushing,” He’d tease as he’d recline back, eyes affectionately gazing at her as she reciprocated his love.
And he could have continued staring at her, lost in his own world, if Adrian hadn’t spoken up. “Plan?” There was some degree of bemusement in his voice before he’d catch himself. "Right, about that…” Eye contact was broken for a moment as he’d rub the back of his neck trying to think of something to do. And when eyes shifted back to her, he’d take note of another aspect of her person. “Y’know you should really change. We aren't exactly inconspicuous with you wearing...that,” He’d suggest as he’d scan her frame. While he had no objections being seen with the ranger commissioner, it didn’t exactly scream low profile. Besides, that gaudy orange looked terrible on any and every one.
He’d cock a teasing brow at his next offer, a thumb sticking out and pointing over and behind his shoulder.

IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
"Not that one," she'd respond back honestly towards his inquiry. Truthfully she hadn't given much thought into what things her lover might have liked, never having the need to think about those types of things before. The thought of Adrien being into history and books did feel oddly out of place the more that the ginger had thought on the topic though. There wasn't one inkling given by the cobalt haired man in terms favoring such things so that she could make such a guess, their past experiences making him appear more of a rich socialite than anything else. It wasn't a bad answer and definitely something she would keep in mind for future reference. In fact, perhaps it was the best one considering that money couldn't always buy artifacts or texts of olden lore.
Regardless after the brevity of bliss that was the small kiss, the questions and answers funneled towards the back of her mind whether she liked it or not. Nothing else mattered anymore once she was enraptured from those lips. Not even the fact that the sight of her reddened cheeks would deter her, at least not more than the flustered feeling from his declaration of love and his affectionate gaze already had. "And whose fault is that?" she'd retaliate amorously with the resisted urge to nuzzle into him to conceal it. It definitely wasn't fair - having a boyfriend that could make her flushed at will like an idiot while she hadn't been able to make any progress on doing the same. There was nary a hint of bashfulness to catch a glimpse of during their little moments such as these, but perhaps that was to be expected. This was from a man that she used to call shameless time and time again, and even so she loved him nonetheless.
Even when she caught the tone of his voice that indicated confusion towards the concept of having a plan, she'd gingerly chuckle at his sheepish reaction. Their time in Jubilife was the same way at first if she recalled correctly. It wasn't what she expected but the ranger couldn't bring herself to feel surprised at her lover's antics. He'd choose the beach despite not being a beach type of person, then persist to go after being told they could go anywhere else. Honestly it was nonsensical no matter what way one looked at it... and again another part of him that Adrian had fallen for all the same.
Upon the reference to changing clothes however, the woman blinked in befuddlement at the statement as she watched those golden orbs look her over. Didn't they just get off the topic about changing clothes? "We were trying to be inconspicuous?" she questioned absentmindedly as she tried to reel herself back in from the bewitching spell. He had emphasized the word that which led her gaze away from his features to follow his eyes towards her uniform. Truthfully the ginger hardly cared about her looks and so the outfit didn't quite garner as much resentment from the ranger to think much on changing out of it. Not that she minded the prospect aside from the fact there was nothing to change into at the moment without buying-
And there it was
"No," she'd respond abruptly the moment the suggestion of buying clothes was made, recovering adequately from her loving daze at the prospect. Releasing an elongated breath, the woman shook her head in the case that a rebuttal was attempted. While she had brushed off his earlier statement about someday buying her a swimsuit or seeing her in one, it seemed that had come full circle in terms of trying to buy things for her to wear rather quickly. "We talked about this. You aren't buying me clothes again." There was emphasis on the word again as her gaze shifted back up to meet his earnestly, knowing there would be an attempt to persist. It had become a consistent occurrence that whenever the two had spent time together, Adrien always somehow bought her more clothes to the point that the redhead became concerned her entire wardrobe would expand in size and become overrun with reminders of how much money was being spent on her.
With that in mind, her thoughts went to work to circumvent the idea of having to buy and change clothes. "I'll just take off the jacket." The issue was the uniform, or at least that was how Adrian saw it; so all she had to do was lose the jacket and that would be it. Thus with a reluctant nudge, she'd attempt to slip away from her lover's grasp to shrug off the orange garb from her frame.
Post by adrien arkwright on Oct 30, 2016 20:27:13 GMT
“Well, it’s part of the problem…” His lips dryly pulled taut at her question of being inconspicuous. It wasn’t as if they couldn’t enjoy a date with her current attire, however Adrien couldn’t deny the slight disappointment that came with Adrian’s seemingly uninterested and dismissive approach to their dates. Perhaps her casual and dismissive demeanor in Jubilife was understandable seeing how she had forced herself to keep her word. But even now, just getting her out of her office to spend time with her took coaxing from his side – something which apparently had to become routine if he wanted his girlfriend's attention. That, combined with the fact that she disliked even trying to look good for their outings was dejecting to say at the least.
But as if to further spite him, Adrian would then refuse his offer to buy her clothes. A frown surfaced on his lips at that, the man unable to comprehend her issue with him buying her stuff. “And why not?” He’d question immediately as brows furrowed together in mild indignation. For as long as he was accustomed to, Adrien was under the impression that women liked being gifted and spoiled. While realization in the past had eventually dawned upon him that they were just gold diggers, he had just come to accept the fact that buying presents was one way to show his affection.
But when it came to Adrian…”Why can’t I buy things for my girlfriend?” A sort of whine presented itself as he’d tilt his head and sigh in exasperation. Eventually however, the vermillion haired beauty had obliged to take off the jacket which only earned a scoff in disbelief. He’d let go of her hand at her notioning and cross his arms above his torso as he’d watch her take off the outer garb. The Arkwright male would remain absolutely silent for a while as he’d eye her blankly. Amber irides would finally shift away from her frame to the sloshing waves behind her as he’d idly scan the scenery. Despite not being the type to frequent the beach, Adrien couldn’t help but appreciate the view and pleasant breeze that accompanied them. It was refreshing…and perhaps gave the mischievous male a rather sly idea.
“Well, since you’re not going to change..,” He’d murmur as he’d kneel and quickly pull out his shoes, not quite finishing his sentence until he finally got them off and turned to her. There was an excited glint in his eyes as he’d smirk. “Maybe I need to force you to,” Upon uttering the last word, Adrien would duck slightly and lurch forward aiming to scoop up the woman’s legs. Once and if her knees were secured between his torso and arm, the man made a beeline towards the sea – hopefully able to keep her from struggling too much as he’d reach the shoreline. Water washed over his feet, slowly reaching his ankles as he paced forward and finally up to his shin.
“Ready?” He’d ask as eyes went upward to meet hers, his other hand grasping onto her waist as he’d ready himself. A final grin was spared her way before his hand holding her waist would shove her backward and the hold around her legs was released. If everything went according to plan, the redhead would fall back on her seat and into the waters.

IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
Adrian wouldn't respond immediately to the frown that appeared on her boyfriend's lips, noticing it but keeping a neutral expression on her features. It was to be expected. Even during the time they spent together in Jubilife, the navy haired man had always insisted on being the one to pay for things to her chargin. It had gotten to a point that the woman almost had expected that it was to flaunt around the amount of money that the Arkwright had possessed and feel lesser about herself. Of course, this was before they had begun dating, and the chivalrous offers hadn't lessened regardless of the beginnings of their new relationship.
Now it was more likely that the golden eyed male was just trying to coddle her for whatever reason, which might have been nice if the ginger didn't harbor so much pride and resentment towards the concept of using men in general. The fact that she did however made it so that she'd resist the notion of accepting gifts as much possible, barring a good reason to do otherwise. The answer then felt easy to her with that in mind, because she didn't need him to, and she was about to say it to had it not been for the following whine that had accompanied the rephrased question.
"It's not that you can't. It's just..." she trailed off hesitantly, her conscience attempting to distinguish the best way to convey her feelings on the matter. That hesitance remained saturating her next few words, as if sorrowfully during her recollection of each and every instance he had wasted his money upon her. "You've already paid for so much." While the woman usually didn't mince her words, the term girlfriend had struck a chord in her chest that made her rethink things. It had verified that guess that he was attempting to spoil her which had a flicker of elation pass through her, but it would make the ginger feel no better about the circumstances.
Adrian was never a materialistic person and knowing that each present was meant to be a token of affection put that much more strain on her to begin accepting the gifts for what they were. Truthfully, in some ways, the ginger didn't mind accepting some small gifts from her lover but when it came to Adrien smothering her in expensive things as much as he could it was different. How could she accept that?
How could she, knowing that she couldn't return such efforts as easily?
Releasing a sigh as brought the distinctive ranger jacket to shield only her forearms; that was when she decided to elaborate. Focusing her gaze into Adrien's, she'd speak as she pulled along the sleeves of the jacket. "I don't want it to seem like I'm relying on you or take advantage of the fact that you're rich. I honestly can't stand those types of people and I feel bad every time you spend too much on me" Her tone, despite being heavy, carried sincerity in that statement. Upon bringing the thin piece of fabric off her form, she'd drop it onto the sands nonchalantly before reapproaching her apparently displeased boyfriend with an extended hand aiming for his. "All I really want from you is you. Isn't that enough?"
But then that sly smile overcome that frown he wore moments after, bringing the ranger to raise suspicions about what thoughts were passing through that head of his. She'd watch with narrowed eyes as the man knelt to take off his shoes, which was quite odd considering what little she heard of those murmurs and the clothes they wore not being entirely beach worthy, she wondered what the non-beach person was planning. "What's that supposed t-" yet almost as if to provide her an answer to the unfinished inquiry, a sudden strength ensnared her legs causing the redhead to go wide eyed as the feeling of her feet leaving the safety of the ground below her left her mildly alarmed.
"H-hey!" she'd shout defiantly against the grip of the arms around her knees, causing them to bend and essentially have her haphazardly sitting on the small amount of space provided by his support. Being relatively athletic had led her to have a generally lighter frame and she had known that, but had never expected to be lifted up in such a manner. The position she was in didn't allow for her to kick rebelliously and with the uneven running motions giving much less stability than she would have liked, the woman instinctively wrapped her arms around Adrien to protect herself from the sensation of a threatening fall. Course, that wouldn't stop her from continuing to yell in hopes that her captor would comply. "Put me down!"
Not that she expected to be heeded in the slightest, the sounds of crashing waves rising in volume giving her indication necessary as to what he was planning. Emerald eyes darted from the path behind the man towards the path below, the cerulean blue waters there laying way for the hazard of what was to come. "Wait!" Another likely disregarded plea stated once presented with the precursor to her fall. Her eyes would meet his in that moment as his arm was brought around her waist and, in the most defiant way, the ginger would be led to tighten the grip she held around the man. Her legs were released and it was a matter of time for her to fall into her watery fate but, rather than falling backwards, the woman brought all her weight onto one side while clinging to her lover in an attempt to bring him barreling down with her.
Whether or not she was successful, a sizable splash would erupt from the impact of her body hitting the surface of the sea. The rush of shivering cold encased her form as temperature of the waters contrasted with her internal body heat and bringing her dark clothing to now adhere disgustingly to her skin. Luckily it wouldn't take long for the ranger to recover her bearings with how close they were to the shore, landing into a position that would force her to shift into a sitting position in the shallow waters as she brushed her hand through her now soaking wet hair out of her face.
