major news alert!
witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
[break][break] Lake Acuity was often hailed as one of the best tourist destinations Sinnoh had to offer with people from various regions visiting the lake what was supposedly home to the legendary pokemon - Uxie. But tonight, the lakeside is deserted - not a soul in sight as a dense cold fog shrouded the vicinity, a sheet of cold ice layering the grass you plow upon. The cries and hisses of Pokemon can be heard in the thick tall grass and silhouettes flicker pass you as you make your way to the pier. [break][break] A plethora of boats have been docked, although all have been abandoned as guides refuse to take passengers to the island at the center due to the recent phenomenons at Acuity. Whether you choose to ride your pokemon or take the boat, the destination remains the same. Head towards the island at the center, but be cautious. [break][break]The waters aren't as still as they seem... [break][break]
With his hands firmly jammed into the pockets of his brown jacket Corbin Cole made his way onto the pier of lake Acuity. Being a ranger admin he was told to report to the lake to check out what was going on before some of the other rangers had. Which was actually all he was told, well it was all he remembered at least.
To be honest he didn't even remember what exactly was going on here that required his attention. Although it was pretty damn easy for him to tell that it had something to do with whatever fog was covering the lake and the area around it.
Shivering slightly the man would pull his jacket a bit tighter to his body as he looked around on the pier, at the moment he was the only one here in the strangely cold fog. Figuring that some other people would show up eventually the dark haired man would simply stand around on the pier for the moment, reaching down to grab a pokeball off his belt. He vaguely remembered something from the call from hq about another ranger showing up as well.
Besides any other rangers that showed up Corbin guessed that some civilians might show up too, trying to be thrill seekers or something like that. And well if they wanted to check it out they could, they just had to deal with Corbin escorting them to the middle of the lake then.
With a click of the pokeball he pulled off his belt the Admin's Barbaracle would appear in a flash of white light, the water fighting type hybrid just landing directly in the water. "Hey Killer, just wait there for now. Gonna see if anyone else shows up, they might need a lift from us."
In the fog nothing was clear, it was almost ominous, you could barely see in front of you. But sight does not affect hearing.
Not far off, mumbling can be heard, a raspy voice, that is then replaced by one that sounds young, you couldn't be sure until you had seen it for yourself. Gradually, the mutters get louder and louder, you can make out the words "Eat, Flesh, and Chewing." This may or not scare you but as the mumbling grows closer and closer two shadows can be seen in the fog, barely noticeable, one small and one large. Slowly they creep closer and ever closer, talking but not in earshot just yet to make out what they're saying. The voices replace each other every so often and suddenly, they stop moving and stare ahead at Corbin. One stops and the other seems to no longer be there.
Corbin being the only other person there would feel something pass near him. Once, twice, thrice?! And suddenly, it stops, it's dead silent. If he were to look ahead the larger shadow would still be standing there. But as you turned around, what's that itching at your leg? A RAVENOUS GRUE!
The Sableye stares at Corbin for a bit before making his way back to Fawkes. As Fawkes makes his way up to Corbin he looks him up and down before giving a slight wave with a soft smile only saying "Yo."

[attr="class","postarea"]"Boy, do I fucking love the cold." That was the only thing Augustus could say as he trudged through the sheet-like ice that covered grass. He rubbed his hands together hoping he could get this mission overt with, though he wasn't exactly sure what Team Rocket wanted to accomplish at these lakes, the male only hoped that they too were going to try that reset the world bullshit Galactic is trying to achieve. He might just shoot himself in the face if all criminal organizations had such a stupid cause. He tried not to think about it for too long, instead he chose to believe they thought whatever was causing the flashy phenomenon would sell for a decent price.
Fortunately for Augustus he would be accompanied by his brother on their mission today. He'd hope this would go as smooth as his other missions, though he doubt it'd be as simple as an in and out sort of thing. Naturally Trainers, Rangers, and Galactics would be drawn to the lakes and he'd have to either go covert or crush them with his Pokemon. Hopefully any they encounter wont be too strong to handle or too smart to deceive.
Seamus had walked ahead, leaving Augustus all by himself. Though it didn't really feel like he was all by himself, from every angle it felt as if something or someone was watching. It made the male feel a tad bit uneasy. He shifted his gaze to surrounding bushes before following Seamus' footsteps. It'd be best to stick together in these types of situations. As he slowly caught up to his brother his stomach grumbled loudly.
[break][break] The empty boats creak and rock ever so gently, the cold breeze that blew getting unusually stronger as the few faces that dared venture forth all gather by the pier. The shroud of fog which had settled upon the vicinity has begun to clear out, the icy daft now rattling everything that dare defy it. Just seconds later, the winds would carry with them ice and hail with sizable bits of them capable of causing bodily harm. By now it would become obvious that this isn't another phenomenon, it's a blizzard. [break][break] With that realization comes the strengthening of the blizzard, vicious winds destroying the sheet of ice laden upon the grass and uprooting grass and shrub. Just moments later, two massive shadows would emerge from the depths of the surrounding forest; Abomasnows wasting nary in a second in attempting to bury the trespassers in another blizzard that followed. [break][break] The temperatures drop considerably and choices are limited. A few items can be found sprawled over the boats - an escape rope, an ice-pick, a torch and a pokeball, it's contents left a mystery. But with the blizzard raging on and your destination just a few minutes away from shore, what will you do? [break][break]
"Suuup." Was all the response that the sudden Sableye near his leg warranted from the man. After all Corbin was a guy who sometimes ran around in a mask and physically fought criminals, it actually took a lot to scare him. Shivering slightly the dark haired man would reach down into his pocket, pulling out a pack of cigarettes before lighting one up. As he took a drag of the cigarette, the ember from it sticking out through the fog, he'd blow out a puff of smoke, noticing two other human like shapes in the fog. "Hey Klaw, you can come on out alright?" He said while glancing over his shoulder, moments before his Barbaracle climbed back out of the water to stand behind him.
Glancing around the area Corbin would suddenly shiver again as the blizzard started, the cigarette falling from his mouth. "What kind of winter wonderland bullshit is this.." Corbin began to say before noticing the two larger shapes in the distance, Abomasnows. He had spent plenty of time out around Snowpoint city and had been accustomed to some of the pokemon that could appear out here. Plus the pokemon had a pretty unique shape compared to actual humans. "Oh shi..." He began to mutter out before the blizzard intensified once more.
Without a moments hesitation Corbin would dart off to the side, running right for one of the abandoned boats before scrambling on top of it. Looking around deck while he shouted out, "Killer Klaw! Shell Smash and Cross Chop one of them!" With that called out Corbin's fighting and water type pokemon would flex its body, rocks flying off of it as the pokemons attack, special attack and speed were immensely increased. Only for it to then charge off at one of the Abomasnow's shadows, sprinting right through the blizzard. Since it was resistant to ice type attacks Barbaracle had no problem with running through it, though it still took damage of course. Once near an abomasnow's shadow it would leap forward at it, swinging its arms down with a cross chop attack.
Still scrambling around on the boat Corbin would grab the Torch off the deck, flicking his lighter against it until the torch caught flame. Its light piercing through the fog as well as providing the man with some type of heat. Sighing slightly he'd also grab the pokeball off of the boat, tossing it Fawkes' direction while yelling out. "Hey sableye dude, catch!" Not even bothering to see if it was caught or not he'd instantly follow up by yelling out. "Alright everyone, get on this boat! It'll give us some kind of cover from the blizzard and I think i might be able to figure out how to pilot this thing!"

[attr="class","postarea"]And then, it got colder. "What the fuuuuuuck." That'd be his only response to the oddly powerful blizzard that was whipped up. At first Augustus had no idea where it was coming from, he could barely even open his eyes to see anything around him, so he quickly sped up to catch up with his brother, who wasn't too far away from him. Once there he'd simply ask his brother. "What the fuck is going on?"
Augustus followed his brother to the boat, though he wasn't quite sure who'd be actually willing to stay out here now there was a fully fledged Blizzard raging all around the lake. He turned his attentions to the Abomasnow's and shook his head. "Good grief. Is that what's causing all this?" He quickly took a Pokeball and slammed it into the ground releasing his Machamp, who began to shiver slightly in the cold. "Yo, I hate it too dude."
His Machamp clearly wanted to retreat back into his Pokeball, but Augustus wouldn't allow that not until the Abomasnow's were taken down. And so his Machamp leaped forward and to use Revenge on the Ice Type. Augustus then turned to he other male that had called them onto the boat. "Do you know how the fuck to operate one of these things or do we have to wing it?"
[break][break] The Abanasnow staggers back in pain as the barbaoch's attack is successful and the Machamp's and Hitmontop's followups would prove to be just as successful. However, while hindered in their strides, neither behemoth would succumb just yet. If anything, the audacity the intruders expressed only served to fuel the ice types rage with a icy wind attack now sweeping through the premises. Right now, the two Abanasnow wanted nothing more than to off the four intruders, being unusually aggressive tonight. [break] [break] However should all four intruders embark the boat, and whether or not they had even reeled in the anchor and taken off, they'd find the boat beginning to gleam a dull pink. Psychic was being used by an unknown entity. Within moments the whole vessel would creak and rock as it would be tugged away from the pier and towards the island in the distance. But while the boat slowly sailed towards the island, the waters aren't as welcoming. [break] [break] With a blizzard still raging on, the waters begin to unsettle and waves begin to form. Soon, sharpedos would surface ane encircle the wooden vessel, their presence not the mosr soothing sight. Should you take note of their eyes, you'd notice that they've been clouded a shade of red and it seems the fog has affected them as well. CRUNCH! Almost suddenly a sharpedo would lurch forward from the waters and with maws ajar, chomp on the side of the boat where Augustus was seated. Teeth sank into the wood and metal, taking a chunk of the boat along with it as the pokemon's jaw would finally unhinge the boat. [break] [break] And with that intial attack, the sharpedos wohld begin their relentless attack - - simultaneously trying to detroy the boat and make a meal out of its passengers. Despite the assault on the Vessel, the boat would continue to be dragged towards the island. [break][break]

Fawkes was so flustered by the sudden events that his instincts took over. After catching the pokeball he hopped into the boat after seeing Corbin do so, while having the Sableye latched into his back. He hardly noticed him command the Barbacle to attack the Abomasnow and just sat in the boat staring ahead looking to see if he's got everything on him.
"What the hell?" he said as he looked off the edge of the boat and lunged back as the Sharpedo bit into the boat. "OH SHIT!" As the Sableye latched into his back he sent out a Toxicroak into the water it shivers and looks up at Fawkes with an expression of betrayal. "I-I'm sorry Ruby, but we're gonna die if you ain't out, Poison Jab them to keep them away from the boat, we at least need this boat to make it to that island." The Toxicroak makes it way closer to the boat and poison jabs the Sharpedoes enough to keep a few away, it can only take the side it is on.
Fawkes sweats a bit and looks at the ball in his hand wondering what it could be for then stops wondering as the boat is rocked from the Sharpedos and started worrying.
As soon as the boat began to take off towards the island in the lake Corbin would fall over from the sudden change in momentum. Holding the torch up in the air to make sure he didn't set the damn thing on fire. After a few moments he would climb back up to his feet, looking back to the shore where his Barbaracle had still been.
It was pretty easy to make out which one of the silhouettes of the pokemon were his, after all it was only one of two with four arms, and the only one with another hand for a head. Clicking the button on the pokemon's pokeball again, a red beam of light shooting out before returning Barbaracale back to its ball.
Since they were moving away from the Abomasnow now at a pace they couldn't really control Corbin didn't really see a reason to keep the pokemon there. After all if they were leaving who knows how long it would be since they were back in time to retrieve the pokemon, or if they would be back.
"What in the..." He began to mutter as he felt the ship rocking, before moving over to glance off the edge of the boat. Only to see a bunch of red eyed sharpedo assaulting their new water vessel. Needing to do something to help keep the boat afloat Corbin would hit the button on his pokeball again, sending Barbaracle right back out. "Hey Killer Klaw, take out those Sharpedo's alright? Cross chop em too!"
With that order given the water and rock type pokemon would begin to swim throughout the water, before slamming into the side of one of the Sharpedo's with a super effective Cross Chop attack.

[attr="class","postarea"]As soon as Augustus was on the boat he immediately returned his Machamp not wanting to leave it behind, it wouldn't be able to survive out there all by itself, especially in this weather. Once the Fighting-Type was back inside its Pokeball, the rocket immediately called it back out to its annoyance. "Don't give me that fuckin' look, you need to protect me. Got it?" A frowned creeped across both trainer and Pokemon's face as they sat down briefly.
Augustus would begin to think to himself as the others did whatever they were doing to get situated. That was until a blood thirsty Sharpedo leaped out of the water and chomped down on the boat they were traveling it. "Yo! What the fuck!" Was all the male said as he tumbled forwards evading the attack. His Machamp would begin to punch the Sharpedo as it clamped down on the boat.
"Yo, bro fuck this shit." Augustus muttered as he looked towards Seamus, he was hoping the male would bring out his Aerodactyl just incase things went to shit even faster than it already was.
"Send out your Aerodactyl if they actually start ripping the boat apart."
[break][break] The intruders efforts to protect their vessel would prove to be effective as most of the shark pokemon would recede back into the waters soon enough, eyeing the boat as they'd continue to circle it. By now, the boat had taken considerable damage and water had begun flooding the base of the boat. THWACK! The boat would groan and begin to sink as it'd hit the side of the island before eventually completely submerging itself near the shores of the rocky island. The waters wouldn't be too deep, but dallying about in the sea would be an choice you'd regret seeing how the sharpedos aren't too far away. [break][break]
Once on the sandy shores of the island, you'd notice that the premises is void of pokemon -- perhaps a boon on this strange day. Not a shrub nor tree grew in the vicinity, with only rocky boulders dotting the island and its surrounding. At the center of the small island stands a cave, it's entrance sealed by an ancient albeit sturdy slab of stone. [break][break]
Old and intricate designs are etched upon it and you see two protruding blocks that can be pushed in. The block on the left depicts a sword while the block on the right depicts a quill. Unless you push in one of the two buttons, you will remain stranded on this island. Of course, attempting to break the slab is also an option, although the results of doing so remain a mystery. [break][break] pick your poison. [break][break]
"Oooooh shit.." Corbin mumbled out as the boat began to sink from the sharpedo's attacks, at least the two rangers managed to stop them from doing more damage. With a grunt he'd throw the torch as far as he could, managing to land it on the island. Not wanting to leave anything that could be useful behind the man would then run across the boat, snatching up the escape rope and ice-pick before tumbling off the side of the boat, splashing down into the water.
As he tried to get his barrings and make his way to the island Corbin would be snatched under the water by something. Though it wasn't anything dangerous, it was just his Barbaracle! Grasping its trainer with both of the hands on the right side of his body the water rock hybrid pokemon would dart through the water. Using its Surf attack to help it move faster in the water.
Not much longer after that Corbin and the Barbaracle would surface on the island, the man and pokemon both soaking wet. Still holding the ice-pick in one hand and the escape rope in the other he'd make his way over to the entrance on the island. Getting a closer look at the symbols on them despite being kind of creeped out by the fact that there was no vegetation on the island itself, or any pokemon.
"I say we go through that one?" Corbin blurted out as he stepped back from the button on the left, the one with the sword on it. "The one with the sword. Or we could just break through the slab?"

[attr="class","postarea"]Augustus sighed as the Sharpedo's swam away, he thought they were kinda cool and wished he had caught one at least. He turned to his brother as he refused to take out his Aerodactyl. "It's alright I guess, they swam off, but the boat doesn't look so good." He frowned, he wasn't sure if this thing could survive a return trip, or even survive docking at the island. If it didn't, he'd probably force his brother to use his Aerodactyl.
The rocket returned his Machamp and looked towards the island. As the boat docked or well sank against the land Augustus hitched a ride with his brother's Aerodactyl, not wanting to go down with the ship. Once on the island he quickly made his way to the door with the other males. "Yeah, who the fuck even are you?" Augustus asked looking towards the other male, he didn't seem to be the ranger type or well he seemed a bit on the younger side to be one. Probably wasn't very high ranking, unlike his friend.
Augustus looked at the door a frowned. "Oh hell no, not again." He shook his head looking at the buttons. "Last time I pressed a button during one of these situations I almost got crushed by a Golem and nearly drowned. I say we smash it." He expected the males to disagree with him, but they'd probably never been through something like this before.

As the Sharpedos swam away, Fawkes gave a sigh of relief and looked towards the land as they apporached it slowly.
As Corbin swam away with his Barbacle, Fawkes wondered what he would do to get to land as well, luckly one of the brothers was nice enough to have the Aerodactyl come back for them. Returing the freezing Toxicroak to its ball, Fawkes hitched a ride on the Aerodactyl before it took off.
As he made it on land with the Sableye still clinging to his back, Fawkes made sure he still had the ball Corbin threw at him and wondered what it was for.
If the question of "who are you" was directed at him he would simply say, "I'm Fawkes Winter, ranger recruit." He then looked at the door and says something along the lines of, "Whatever leader guy picks I'm fine with, decisions aren't my strong suit." Everything here was new to him and he wasn't handling it well mentally, at this point he's just rolling with the punches as they come.
