How did things end up like this?
That was the thought running through Adrian's mind as she sat in the waiting room of the ER on her day off. Her right hand was cradling a makeshift ice pack and pressing it against the burn wound on her left arm. That alone was fine though. It wasn't uncommon for rangers to be injured on the job and be sent to the hospital to get checked up on. The wound itself wasn't even severe though noticeable from the some occasional sharp pain stabbing at it. No, what really bugged the woman was that somehow for some reason the man that had inflicted the injury had flirted with her and was now with her in the wait room. Perhaps that couldn't be helped as he was supposed to pay for the expenses for this visit, but Adrian wasn't fully convince it would be worth being seen with the man that shared a similar name.
The ranger didn't much for appearances but she did feel some level of pride. Having just met Adrien, the woman knew that she didn't want to be associated with him. Looking over at the man in question, she sighed as she began to hesitantly ask. "And you don't have anything better to do than to tag along?" She was hoping he would remember something and leave her be. Course that was holding high hopes.

When Miss Hothead just mumbled and walked out of the park, Adrien had no choice but to follow despite his absolute perplexion about Adrian's erractic behavior. She left him without a means to contact her about the ehospital charges and her parting words didn't do much help. Either way, he'd follow her to the hospital in the most nonchalant way possible since she's left him with no other choice. "Nu-upe," An almost instantaneous response as Adrien reclined and looked down at his phone, fingers busy sending text messages to a variety of people, Jason included.
"I'd leave but you haven't given me a way to contact you about the expenses. Had no choice but to tag along~" He'd scoff as his eyes remained fixed on his phone. Seated besides her, the man had absolutely no issues being seen with her and even though he was able to discern her reluctance with the situation, it didn't stop him from probing further casually.
"Why'd you just walk out?, "

The answer what instant and expected. Dejected, she leaned back in her seat with curious eyes glancing at the male apathetically. He was texting and if they had actually been dating that could have been seen as rude. Adrian cared fairly little but she did turn her head to look away once she noticed what he was doing. It wasn't because she did not want to eavesdrop either but more of a simplistic reason of not being able to do the same. It must have been nice having friends he could text to pass the time. Some vague form of envy that crept up when she did not expect it. That alone kept her from turning back to Adrien and kept this to herself.
Adrien would prompt the reason he was still here being the promise to pay for the hospital expenses. It was logical yet the woman still felt adamant about not giving the man her number. She did sigh though... and a rather audible one at that. "I'd send you the bill. You're an Arkwright, that shouldn't be too hard." Her snide tone remained present despite the developing events. As long as he was not lying about who he was then she would have forwarded the bill to the company itself. That was her plan but who knew if it would have worked.
"I said I would come to the hospital didn't I?" She said as the answer to his next question. As it likely wasn't adequate enough for his tastes she provided further commentary. "And I didn't want to give you my number. Who knows what you'd do with it." Her eyes focused on some of the medical posters hanging from the walls to distract her thoughts.

As always the redhead was being difficult which, unfortunately, just further fueld Adrien's curiosity. From turning her head away to sighing as if he were a nuisance in her way, the spy couldn't help but look up at her with a small frown. Never before had he been treated so coldly by someone; that too by a woman. While it shouldn't have bothered him, for once, it actually did to the point where he just wanted to probe her further. If only to break that cold exterior of hers.
"More hospital bills to the company huh... " He'd mumble to himself as he continued to look down at his phone, the context of that comment left unelaborated. An exasperated sigh escaped his lips as he put away his phone and turned to her, another frown expressed as he was unable to meet her gaze. "Well, that 'I don't understand' wasn't the surest acknowledgement you gave me," A scoff as he raised a hand and performed a finger quote. Her next few words were midly irritating, a comment such as that most suited to a stalker or thug.
"Wow, you need to lighten up, kid," A sigh as he rolled his eyes. "Holding a grudge for an accident is going a little too far. Not everyone's out to get you," He'd mumble as he turned his head away from her. By now it seemed Adrian had some sort of personal vendetta against him. That least, that's what he thought. Meanwhile it wouldn't be long before Adrian's name would be called out.

Even though it was a mumble, sitting near each other tended to lead let people hear things that weren't meant to be heard. While she was mildly curious what he meant by 'more hospital bills to the company' she didn't ask. Her gaze remained fixated on the miscellaneous posters that littered the walls. The exasperated sigh from Adrien she figured was towards one of his text messaging friends rather than to whatever she said or done, not that she would have apologized for it if she had known. While he did put his phone away, Adrian had yet to gain this knowledge due to her looking away from him. Of course, had she known that doing this put him off then she would have kept doing so regardless.
"You baffle me Arkwright. Not sure if there's much more explain," she said in response to his comment, again missing his gestures. Nevertheless at his next words she turned back due to his sound of his voice. It sounded like her's: irked. Still it seemed he had the wrong idea and Adrian responded to that. "It not just because of our accident you know. Maybe you're missing the point." And then the head turned and for some reason Adrian got some satisfaction from seeing that. Nevermind that she had done the same thing moments prior, she raised her uninjured hand to prod his cheek with her index finger. "Oh are you pouting?" She chuckled at this despite herself as she got up, hearing her name from one of the nurses. She refrained from commenting her opinion of thinking it was a better look on him.
Not sure if Adrien would go as far as to follow her into the examination room, though not convince he wouldn't try like he was related to her in some way, she did go back to the topic. "So you're saying if I gave you my number you wouldn't do anything weird? It's only for paying the medical bills?" At this point she could care less about the jacket that was burned up. She was still skeptical that he'd send her strange texts and phone calls but those could be blocked as necessary.

"What point?," Adrien would shrug his shoulders and ask, unable to get this so called 'point' if there was even one. Woman just over complicated matters most of the time and it didn't help that this one took even casual banter to heart. And just as when he was about to shut his mouth, Mastry would poke his cheek and make light of him. "...No. " A rather solemn response as he pulled his head back while still looking the other way. There were people around and right now he looked and felt like a defeated child. Definitely wasn't healthy for the ego.
"Wait, what?" He'd turn and look at her with a cocked brow, irritated by the way she posed that question. "Weird? Please, don't get ahead of yourself," He'd snap back with a scoff. While Adrien messed around with her, at the end of the day, he was commited to someone and wasn't going to take things further than playful banter. Although she didn't know that and apparently though he was trying to creep on her. Well, Adrian Nastry needed to be knocked down a peg.
A wry smile faced on his lips, imaginary gears at work. When Adrian's name was finally called, Adrien would stand and follow too, a nurse eying him doubtfully as he did. Catching her glance, Adrien would just smirk and nod at her knowingly.

The fact that Adrien lashed back with the question of what the point even was meant that Adrian was right. The redhead had rolled her eyes at that, already haven given up ever since leaving the park like she said she did. After today's events she was too tired to entertain him further. Thus she would only shake her head at that and fail to even try to elaborate anymore then she already had. That said the topic moved on as she poked his cheek. While Arkwright had remained looking the same and pushed away from her, she mentally kept that new image of Adrien in her mind. Somehow he did look, dare she say, cute when he was pouting but she would never say anything of the sort aloud and chalked it up to his baby face. Nevertheless he would bounce back at the final words she said and again he wouldn't answer her directly. If he had actually agreed then she would have given him the number and shooed him on is way out. Instead she simply huffed as she walked away towards the nurse.
Now what she expected to happen was that he would try to follow, to her dismay, and get stopped by the nurse. Which did happen, her eyes catching the glimpse of the interaction. But that smile... Adrian squinted her eyes and wondered what he was planning. It didn't take long for her to learn as with her next words her eyes widened. "Oh fuck no." This was par for the course as she was back to yelling, her brows furrowed and her cheeks flushing from the embarrassment of people even believing it. It was almost as if her anger was fueling her with more energy just so she could scold the man. He couldn't leave well enough alone and instead of leaving gracefully he pulled this stunt? If Adrian did not have high blood pressure before then surely she did now.
Ignoring the attention that this brought about, she glared at the silver haired man yet again. "That. That's my point. You don't just say things like that." Being in front of a nurse and holding her injury held her back from trying to punch him straight in his face. It was like he was five and didn't know right from wrong. "Do you even know what that means!?" Nevertheless the nurse shook her head and seemed to believe the confrontation as a couple's quarrel and led them both in, much to the infuriation and rejection of the actual patient.

Adrien wasn't very surprise when she didn't answer him and just got up and left. She was difficult that way and the few hours he spent with her sufficed in determining that. Although it didn't stop his shenanigans. Because when Mastry barked at his claim that he was her 'husband', Adrien would grin and enter the room casually. "Yes! It means I just got a free pass into the examination room," He'd lean forward and murmur, careful to keep away from her fists before straighening up again.
"Honey, please. Calm down. I said I'm sorry~" A apologetic smile faked as he entered the room and stood by the side, a mere show put on for the staff around. His phone would beep in his pocket although the Arkwright male would ignore it for now. Probably Jason, it could wait.
Focusing on the examiner, he'd clear his throat and continue after a moment with a more concerned tone. "Is it bad? She's very clumsy,"

The fact that he was successful and felt no remorse for what he had done had Adrian in a state of bemusement. Her jaw and fists clenched mostly out of stress and rage that came with this entire ordeal. "..." Even as he whispered in her ear, even if he had not moved back she was helpless in the situation. Exerting any physical violence here meant more issues and giving her an even further bad reputation. If we are talking about bruised egos, whenever Adrian had to swallow her pride was like hitting her with a truck. Just like today.
Instead her eyes gave Adrien a hateful glare with killing intent in them and at that point she wished looks could hurt. This was further enhanced at the fact that he called her honey. Oh this was fucking rich. It honestly disgusted her how he could say those things without batting an eye. It was also impressive in some way but Adrian's blood pressure was surely spiking. Nevertheless she would not respond to the second statement he made and would take to ignoring him the best she could. As she sat down on the examination bed, she removed the ice from her arm to allow the examiner to look over the wound. Her fake 'husband' could also look over the damages he caused if he had wanted to.
As the examiner looked her over, it appeared that the 'husband' provided some further commentary. His tone shifted and for a moment the woman wondered how he could be able to act like that without feeling sick. "Oh I'm the clumsy one?" she lashed back in a harsher tone. This felt humiliating. Adrian wanted nothing more than to punch Arkwright in the face and never come back to this hospital again. That said she would have to get out of this situation first and against her will, she would have to swallow her vehemence and try her best to put him in a situation to leave. "You should go home. We can talk about this later dearest," she so badly wanted to append the words dead meat to the end of that, yet somehow managed to withhold the urge.

"Shuush, It's okay, love. You're cute that way," Adrien would chuckle and respond without missing so much as a beat, not phased a bit by the words that poured out so fluently. He was enjoying this despite knowing all too well he was testing her patience. Adrian's examiner chose to ignore the 'couple's' dialogue, uninterested in whatever quarrel they were going on about.
Leaning against the wall, Adrien would shoot Adrian a mischievous smile when she played along as sorts and asked him to basically get out. While to continue teasing her seemed tempting, even the spy knew when to back off and keep it from escalating too far. Mastry's growing killing intent was intimidating enough even though he'd never show it. Besides, he could ask for the bill at the receptionist right now. "Okay, Okay," He'd stand up straight and put a hand infront of him as if pacifying her.
A nod as he'd moved to the door and open it while looking back at her. "I'll see you outside, honey. Love you~"
When Jason signed up to be a ranger, he had never expected so much paperwork to come with it -- and as he kept progressing, it only got worse. The sheer amount of forms and waivers that he needed was ridiculous, although he reckoned that it came with the job.
Today was no exception, and he needed to deliver a form to the local hospital. He'd planned to go on the way home, and it didn't take long for him to appear at its glass doors, with doors so clean and the smell of disinfectant in the air.
It's not long after he enters that he hears a familiar voice behind one of the doors. Jason pushes the paperwork into the nurses' hands, leaving her to herself as he makes quick steps towards the origin of the voices. Jason reaches for the door, but it's opened before he can even touch the handle. He spots the back of Adrien's head, and catches the last of the words as he's retreating.
...outside, honey. Love you.
He holds out a hand to grip at Adrien's shoulder, eyebrows furrowed and thoroughly confused. There's flashbacks to when Adrien had sent him a picture kissing another girl and the argument that ensued afterwards. He was far from insecure, but such words couldn't go without question.

Adrian did not expect the man to agree after all was said and done. He was most definitely having fun with this judging from the smiles and the chuckles. He was making fun of her. While her emerald eyes burned with hatred, she remained still for the medic to continue treating her wound. She'd wince as the antiseptics were applied right as Adrien was headed towards the door. Part of her expected him to do something smart ass or try something funny as he left. She'd carefully eye him as he began walking and it was only to the point when he had opened the door when he would turn back and say something. The words almost made her cringe as much as the stinging in her arm. The ginger wouldn't respond with more than a glare, but as she had she spotted a hand reach out and grab onto the silver haired man's shoulder.
Her glare lessened as there was now another person in the picture standing at the doorway. She did not recognize the male that stood there but she took it that Arkwright did from what was said. Love who? The words did not sound as if they were casual words from a passerby. Suddenly the redhead was gaining curiosity. "Who are you supposed to be?" she'd question the blonde male swiftly. Part of her figured that the man was akin to a friend or work buddy but she'd ask anyway. Suddenly like that, this simple hospital trip was turning into a korean drama. She shouldn't have cared but with as much suffering as Adrien caused her in a day, any chance of dirt she could gather she would. Actually she was also curious to see how Adrien would react to this encounter.

The azure haired male had his fun and despite wanting to continue, he had to remind himself that he was here for the bill. Alas, just as he was to exit the room a hand would latch into his shoulder, Adrien reflexively turning his head to lock eyes with a very familiar face and even then it took him a moment to come in terms with who it was. "Jason...? Why are..? " A solemn almost confused voice escaped his lips as his skin paled and eyes tried to hide momentarily panic. Of all the people, why was he here? And at the worst of times too.
It didn't help that Mastry chimed in from behind, suddenly curious to know who the random blond was. Fuck. A pause as he calmed his nerves before he'd move past the ranger and try to grab his arm. Jason didn't look like he was hurt or here for an examination and with that assumption in mind he'd execute the next move. "Uh, tell you later. Let's go," His innotantion denoted adequate urgency, set on getting the two away frome ach other. Dodging the question, the spy would try to pull him away before he could answer Adrian's question.
Adrien pales considerably, eyes widening by fractions, although Jason can tell. He's caught in the act. "I'm running errands." He explains curtly, motioning to his ranger gear. His eyebrows suddenly furrow, and he narrows his eyes. To say it was suspicion is an understatement.
"Why are you here?" Jason says. His hot-headed temper gets the best of him. How is it not exactly what it looks like? He looks at the woman, a burn decorating the length of her arm, and only grows more confused at such a sight.
"I'm Jason. Adrien's...significant other." He admits, face growing red at such confession. He rubs the back of his head and sighs. It's already awkward enough. "Who are y--"
Adrien's hand comes to grip his am, his tone suddenly urgent. It's a sharp contrast to his normally joking personality, and Jason can tell that he's trying to get out as soon as possibly now. He doesn't budge, choosing to stay put and attempts to gently tug his shoulder away.
