It wasn’t any secret that Adler despised pokemon. But that didn’t mean they couldn’t be useful sometimes, if nothing else as meat shields and distractions. He cared for them very little, and generally didn’t hold their lives in high regard. Now he was down to only one, a Ralts that was almost entirely useless. He couldn’t help but scoff as he rolled the pokeball between his fingers idly, having left the route’s path to go a bit further into the forest. Expanding his team again would benefit him, even if he didn’t think the pokemon would last particularly long.
Adler was sorely tempted to fight the wild pokemon into submission himself, but he knew it wasn’t really worth the risk. One mistake and he could get himself killed, which he really would like to avoid. So he kept his eyes peeled, not feeling particularly picky as long as the pokemon didn’t look utterly pathetic.

The vulture pokemon, huh? Adler didn’t have to consider it for long, the allure of the Vullaby one day being a Mandibuzz that could perhaps be trained to eat away at his victims like scraps was too good to pass up. Whether or not he would be able to train the pokemon to do such a thing, only time would tell. Though if nothing else, he supposed he could either trade it away or just toss out the pokeball later on. Despite knows that his Ralts was at a disadvantage, with the opponent being immune to psychic moves, he still sent the little guy out for a battle.
The first hypnosis didn’t work and the purple haired man scoffed in annoyance, thinking that the Ralts deserved to be struck by the air slash that followed the failure. Again he tried hypnosis, and this time was satisfied to see that it worked. After that, he healed Ralts back up with draining kiss only because it was the only fairy type move that his pokemon knew. After two of them, the opponent was still asleep. And with Vullaby knocked out, he suspected that the bird would be easier to catch as well. Tossing out a pokeball, he watched it wiggle with an even gaze as he waited to see whether or not he was successful. Ralts looked back at him to see if he was pleased, only to glance away in disappointment when he showed nothing as usual.

A satisfied hum escaped Adler when the Vullaby was captured. “Good job,” he praised his Ralts, the thing actually being useful for once. The small pokemon looked up at him with a smile, which he ignored as he continued on. Ralts struggled to keep up with him with how small he was, but managed well enough. Adler didn’t bother returning his pokemon to the ball, wanting it out just in case they came across something else. Luck seemed to be on his side today, as he came across a pond with a Goldeen in it. For a moment he stared at the fins swaying beautifully in the water, before he began another battle.
The Galactic Grunt had his Ralts open up with hypnosis again, and this time it worked on the first attempt. Ralts was able to use two dream eaters before the golden woke up, and he had his pokemon use draining kiss after that just to make sure Goldeen was low enough in health. After that the fish used aqua ring and healed a tiny amount, but it wasn’t enough to make much of a difference. Tossing out another pokeball, he watched expectedly as he waited to see whether or not this one would be joining his team as well.

While the Croagunk standing near the edge of the pond after he caught the Goldeen wasn’t exactly pretty, it still caught his eye. It didn’t run when seeing the battle, if anything the Croagunk looked ready to fight as well. The fighting and poison mixture could be useful on some of his jobs, he mused, if he could get the pokemon to fight alongside him. Ralts was a bit beat up already, but he hardly cared. He was more than willing to push the little guy further to get what he wanted. Besides, psychic moves would be extremely powerful against this pokemon. One good hit would probably do it.
Sticking to the same, boring strategy, Adler had Ralts start with hypnosis again. The first one failed and the Ralts was hit with revenge, which did very little damage. The next hypnosis worked, however, and one dream eater after that had the Croagunk in a sorry state. It should be easy to catch the frog pokemon after that, especially with him still asleep. Regardless of whether or not he was successful, however, he’d head back to town. That was enough for today.
