witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.

[attr="class","afir4"]taar’s time at the ranger academy drained her entirely, not as much as the physical necessities but the constant reminder of being a honest soul and to punish anyone who ever dared to mistreat a pokemon had her wondering whether or not she was worthy of given title. the emotional state of the sergeant approached a certain dangerous edge, meaning she had to get up and get away, far away. as of now she controlled her own agenda, even if just for a couple of days, and her first wish was to get in touch with some living creatures, her two favorite ones.[break] the spot she picked up, just outside the city by the beach, seemed productive enough to work with. she placed her bag on the ground, taking a small container into her hands. before getting settled, she made sure her pokemon wouldn’t wander off like some (more precisely, fields and wick) had when she let all of them out of their respective pokeballs for the first time in a previous route. “hey! stay close, okay? i don’t believe any of you will go enter the water, but if you do, stay by the shore.” her eyes squinted at wick and fields’ unresponsive frames. “nod if you got it.” it took a while for them to do what she demanded, but as soon as their pride lowered and caved in, she let out a grin. “go on, then. i’m always here if you need me.”[break] the ranger reached for her seeds inside the compartment she’d previously gotten from the bag. as she stared down, her options seemed countless (although there were, like, seven different types) and thus they were left by her side so she would figure out which one to plant whilst preparing the seemingly fertile soil.
[attr="class","afir5"]0300 words - @anyone - !!! pretty pls
the beach on route 219 was one of the more secluded ones, and for someone trying to avoid people it was the perfect place to go. he made the most out of the travelling, even battling a few wilds on his way over. his team has gotten stronger now, much stronger than when he first started out not too long ago. the torchic now a blaziken, and a whole bunch of other fire types. the drought team was the dream.
though a drought wasn't needed right now as the sun shone strong in the sky, waves of heat reflecting off the white sands of the beach. every step he took sunk him into the sand, making him trudge his way through. but he enjoyed it for the most part. the evergrowing problem of sand in shoes and socks could be solved later.
along with him walked a small pupper, a growlithe, no taller than a child. it was a recent capture which meant that little to no time had been spent training it yet. so it was still rather wild, running off on its own often like it would do now. "stop--" he tried to stop but failed miserably as the growlithe ran off towards the side. fine, he'll follow.
it didn't take him long to catch up but when he did he saw the growlithe with a much larger version of itself, though evolved. "you could look like that if you fucking listen every now and then," he laughed, tone more playful than serious. he didn't approach the arcanine, instead his eyes wandered off to the side to see what he assumed to be its trainer. so he walked over there.
"hey, is that your arcanine?" he greeted. it was then that he noticed the other pokemon running about as well, so his question was pretty much rendered useless. instead he turned to the girl and smiled. "it looks powerful." he commented though more for himself. eyes drifted downwards to notice the seeds and the activity. "what are you planting?" he asked. he would then lower himself to one knee, kneeling on the other to match heights with the girl before extending out a hand, not minding the dirt she may have on them from the soil.

[attr="class","afir4"]words that were not hers met the sergeant ears, still fully aware of her surroundings giving the fact she hadn’t started working yet. she turned her head to find the voice’s recipient. the region taar had established herself had been crowded by a trainer and its growlithe. they were sided by a fortunately well behaved fields, whom nosed around the pokemon of its kind.[break] the person approached her stay whilst verbalizing a compliment regarding her arcanine. “uh-” before she could motion to get up, taar watched him kneel before her. she left the patch of soil unattended to properly receive the newly found stranger. palms painted in brown texture were brushed against one another in order to expel the excess dirt and take the extended hand, squeezing it lightly. person’s name was rory. she repeated it twice to herself. “taar. nice to meet you.” once her hand is freed, she gives out a restrained courtesy smile. due to the previous inquiry, cerulean and coral orbs dart from the human to her seeds, untouched. “still haven’t decided yet…” brows furrowed to her own dilemma and gazed back to him, illuminated by the sun’s ray. “i’ll probably end up planting all of them…” she grinned in delight as it did sound extremely accurate.

if he had even shown a tiny bit of interest in the other rangers then he might have recognized her but unfortunately he didn't, so they'd have to continue their encounter with neither parties knowing of the other's affiliation unless she's heard of him before. his handshake was accepted and he responded with a smile when she pulled away.
eyes would follow hers as they drifted down to the seeds. he had no experience with seeds or gardening so he didn't have anything to comment on. so instead he thought he'd offer some help. "do you need help planting them?" he asked. planting seeds seemed easy enough, just put it into the soil and cover it up. but still, the thought was there.
"might as well plant all of them," he chuckled. he momentarily shifted his gaze away and back to the growlithe who was still over with the arcanine, its puppy eyes staring up at the magnificent creature almost in awe. "i think your arcanine has an admirer."

[attr="class","afir4"]she obviously did not need help seeing the terrain had already been prepared, but his offer seemed genuine and thus a longing and thoughtful phrase was restrained to a sure. though the shyness remained, she slowly came to register the man’s frame as a familiar sighting but threw it off due to how unimportant was noting such a scarce finding. “since you’re helping me, i don’t see why not.” she holds a calming gaze.[break] taar’s lips twisted once again into a broad expression of joy, humming a short yet lovable laugh due to the vision and upon hearing his comment. fields would look at his first evolution in apparent condescending matter, making of his pride and looks to impress them. “fields doesn’t look bothered at all.” she stated, taking some seconds to come back to their conversation and eye her companion. the sergeant takes half of the ten seeds in total and motioned to give it to him whilst she informed. “here. the shovel by your side, right there.” she pointed. “want me to talk you through it?” she offered patiently.
gardening was not in his list of hobbies so he gratefully accepted her offer. "yes please." he replied as he stuck out his hand to take the offered seeds. he could only look at them in the palm of his hands as he closely examined them, almost fascinated by them as a finger ran through them, counting each one as it brushed past. five in total, enough for an amateur like him. he also grabbed the shovel but his gaze lingered on the two fire pokemon in the distance.
"i think ra wants a battle," he laughed. the smaller of the two dog pokemon would wag its tail, circling the bigger one playfully. it playfully nudged against the arcanine's leg, almost imitating a tackle of sorts but not quite. rory knew the growlithe had some real strong moves but none could compare to what the arcanine knew, he guessed. so a battle would be almost a waste of time lest it be for fun.
"right. what do i do with these? i assume just toss them into the ground?" he asked, making it sound like a joke but honestly he had no idea. with a shovel in his hand and seeds in the other he could only stare at the girl with confused eyes as he waited for instructions.

[attr="class","afir4"]her frame lighten up to the growlithe’s name, a fascination towards the religious spectrum across the many regions of the world. the thought of a friendly battle didn’t cross her mind as trouble. fields would never refuse to do so, especially when he knew it was a chance to show off everything he’s learned to his previous version. “oh- i’m sure fields won’t mind.” she gazed at him, eyes slightly squinted in delight of her pokemon’s upright posture. “at all.” she paused only to come back to the blonde haired. “if you’re up for it, we can have them spar for some fun.” it is oblivious the decision would be made after they fulfilled their gardening duties.[break] she lets out a soft chuckle and guides her own hand to the earth in order to mimic her worded instructions. “well, it really is simple. you can start by digging up some significant amount of dirt in four different spots. two seeds that are going on same hole because they’re kinda hard to get, specially so close to the beach.” she looked at him and with a smile reached for his full palm, pointing to the two similar ones. she’s quick to grab her own set of seeds and plant them on the opposite side, making sure to leave room for the other and free visualization.

[attr="class","mtnsndb"]it seemed like a battle was bound to happen. he didn't mind, the growlithe wasn't as strong as the arcanine was but it would make a good battle, or at least good practice. it would also give rory a good idea of the potentials of the growlithe and whether it was worth to keep training it or not, because quite frankly he wouldn't mind keeping it as a growlithe. he's grown quite attached to the small thing in such a short period of time, despite it not listening to him at all.[break][break]
but for now it was back to gardening. he listened intently, almost a polar opposite of what he did back in school. he nodded every now and then to let her know that he was listening and by the end he felt confident enough to try. he placed the shovel down gently as his hands mimicked hers on the ground, digging a hole before planting two seeds in them. "like this?" he asked. there was a hint of determination in his voice for some reason. he wasn't sure why but he was more interested in this than he ever was back in school or even in the ranger academy. maybe it was the girl, but then again when was it not about a girl.[break][break]
soon enough he finished planting however many seeds he had in his hands, which were tinted with dirt. he didn't mind. eyes would look at the girl, almost looking for approval but not quite as he spoke again. "you did a much better job than me," he laughed. he stood back up and offered the girl a hand to help her back up if she needed it. "do you do this for a living? i forgot to ask." eyes would then avert from her to fix on the two dogs.[break][break]
"right. take it easy on us, yeah?" he laughed, implying a battle was about to happen. [break][break][break]

[attr="class","afir4"]“exactly like this.” the sergeant is soft to her core. she finishes up and observes the other. when it came to planting on a prepared soil, it didn’t have any rules or technique to be evaluated. even if everything was placed rightfully, the seed might not grow. it was an unsure measurement that she did not mind at all to pursue giving her mind was troubled enough by her daily doings. it had been a long time since she’s touched fertile earth and eased down to appreciate its every aspect. rory seemed to be enjoying himself, or at least she hoped.[break] upon hearing his closured phrase, she shook her head dismissing it. “i didn’t do anything different. you’re fine.” the worded insurance came with a grin. she’d gently take on his offered hand and listen to his query, brows slightly quirked, while brushing off the mixed grains on her shorts. “no.” she paused long enough to reveal she tried to place her thoughts together, not an attitude of a talkative master, in which she’s never been. “my mother does.” taar appeared blissful to the referral. “i’m a ranger, actually.” she’d fill him in on a small part of her life and follow his attention to the two canines.[break] “what do you say, sun god? ready?” hand placed itself on the growlithe’s head before walking back to the post whilst greeting her pokemon with a kiss on the top of his scalp. the ranger’s team would gather up in curiosity, her resting posture demonstrating there was no danger to the stranger and his companion. she sought to remember if they even battled another fire type but it might’ve slipped her mind. however if his puppy had flash fire like her vulpix, they might take her and fields down to second best. [break][break]

[attr="class","mtnsndb"]a whistle and the growlithe would come running over but not before stopping for a pat on the head from the girl, which garnered a smile from the man. when the growlithe reached him he lowered himself once again to give it a pat on the head, a hand placing on top of the dog's head to turn it to face the arcanine. "that's your opponent today," he whispered. the growlithe didn't seem fazed, if anything it was more excited than before. "you got this." he lied, it was going to lose and rory was sure of that as he got back up to his feet.[break][break]
"oh, i don't think i've seen you around hq," he replied. then again he was rarely ever there in the first place, unless it was for a meeting or getting called in for messing up, which sure happened a lot recently. but he quickly dismissed that saddening thought and focused on the battle and on the girl. "sergeant? elite?" he asked, because again he didn't keep up enough to know all the faces.[break][break]
the growlithe wagged its tail and stomped on the ground, telling rory that it was ready to battle. "fine," he whispered to it before taking a step back. "i like that name, sun god," he spoke. hands would find the comforts of his pockets no matter how dirty they were before ordering the growlithe to move forward. "agility then take down." no risks needed to be made to use a fire move, seeing as the arcanine could have flash fire as its ability the same way the growlithe did. and just like that the small dog pokemon sped up, running ever so speedily as its speed increased from the agility. once it was close enough it would literally fling itself at the arcanine, attempting to ram it at great speed.[break][break]
"how long have you been a ranger for?" he asked, keen on having a conversation while a friendly battle was raging on between them. [break][break][break]
