His expression is the coldest it's been in years, leaning forward he clasps his hand sin front of his face eyes focused only on the 'emergency' sign above the door. A few others sit in the room, but the silence is all consuming. 'What if' scenarios play through his mind constantly.
If only... I could have...
Only for reality to strike time and time again. The hallway is too white the iridescent ceiling lights are suffocating now. If he hadn't kept his current company he'd have forced himself in the room long ago. All he can do right now is this. Sit in silence and let this rage fester in his already troubled soul. The man had just been released the other day only to find himself mugged, the man deserved better. Adrien deserved better. It's apparent he can't change the past, not with his current power, but whoever had the combination of gall to strike the man he'd make sure they paid the price many times over. It was the least he can do to avenge his friend

[attr="class","runwrap"] [attr="class","runtop"] [attr="class","runpic"] This meeting was nothing short of.. awkward. Lena finds herself on a stiff plastic chair with her hands folded over her lap, and a flat, but stressed, look on her face. The buzz of the old fluorescent lights is the only sound in the room besides the occasional blip of the machines that keep Adrien stable. She's too nervous to breath-- her shoulders and back become stiff as the stress from sitting so rigidly for so long takes its toll. Lena doesn't have one fucking clue while she's here. Infant hadn't caused this hospital trip, but he had caused the first, and that was enough for her to want to sprint as far away form this room as possible. Aster sits next to her, though he seems so caught up in his own worry that the awkwardness of the situation doesn't occur to him. "We're waiting for one to begin."That's what she was told. A Galactic she hadn't met, maybe? Lena feels like there's a boulder on her chest. She has nothing to say, and everything to fear. Was this going to be tied back to her? Is she here to be equally injured? Mutilated? Broken? The thought of anything and everything is terrifying, and rational thought is out the window. Had she really left Liam for this? He'd just started on the routes when he gets the call, a nurse from the hospital who informs him in an entirely too calm voice, that Adrien's in the ICU. Intensive care unit. When Jason left the hospital they'd ended on a good note -- a really good note.
What could've possibly happened in a span of twenty-four hours?
There's no use to stay in the wilderness, so he swallows past the lump in his throat to say that yes, I'll be there in a couple hours, and races back to where the hospital lies. When he arrives, the secretary informs him that Adrien's still in the ICU unit, that he's not finished yet.
It's completely silent when he arrives. His steps, hurried and slightly panicked, are the loudest sounds in the hall. Two people have already beaten him there. Waiting. Trace and Lena sit next to each other, wearing expressions as sobering as Jason's, and that's when he knows that it's bad, and that their relationship may be over before it's even started.
Jason doesn't even know what to say to these two. He's too worried to be angry, and he doesn't know whether Adrien told them or not -- but knowing him, he hasn't. At least, not yet. Jason takes a breath to calm his edging anxiety and clears away the tightness in his throat to speak.
"What's his status?"

After that last bite to the thigh there was no way Adrien could keep concious. His body had given in and it seemed death was lingering close by. At least that's what he hoped for. But then the sound of sirens, people trying to wake him up and the unrest of the hospital were all telltale signs that he wasn't dead just yet...unfortunately.
He'd fade in and out of conciousness in the ICU, unfamiliar faces and chatter surrounding him. The familar smell of antiseptic however would jog back his memory; Liam Summers, the arcanine, Lena Ruddy... All of it. His brow furrowed as the memory stung but alas he was helpless. There was nothing he was capable of at the moment and could only drift back to sleep to get away from the confusion.
------------------------------------------------ Eyes flickered open to welcome a quiter scene - - the bickering nurses were nowhere to be seen, just two machines about him and his bloodied garb replaced for more comfortable, albeit plebian wear. Adrien would sigh, it all came back to him now.
One attendant would enter, took note of his condition and walk back out. The spy wasn't able to sit up just yet but would turn his head to scan the room. The pokeballs were at his bedside table which was a relief. And surprisingly, all six of them.
The door would creak open once again and in came a familiar dark-skinned male. "About time..." His voice remained low and his usual smug grin was, for once, sobered down to an indifferent expression. Despite it all, he was glad and relieved to see Aster.
