witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
7pm. Fully rested, and having beed in need of every hour she possibly got, Lena has cleaned herself up. Showered, clothes washed, pokemon healed, the works. A small headache still reminds her that she's damaged, but it's easy to ignore for the moment being. She checks her phone about a thousand times before she finally gains the courage to tell him she's on her way over. It's about another a thousand times as she makes sure she has the address, floor, and room right. On her way in she gives in awkward wave to the clerk, while poiting up to signifiy her destination. The clerk couldn't care less, and looks down to continue reading. Lena scurries off, contemplating her life choices in the elevator.
She figures she was only cleaning and eating, completely innocent. All she'd done was make a friend out of a bad situation, that's all. Now she was going to clean his apartment and deliver a criminal organization's package for him.. for money. The more she thinks about it the clammier her palms get. She adjusts herself a couple hundred times before she's released from the elevator, after what seemed like years. Look at phone, look up, repeat, until she finds the door. Lena knocks softly twice, twiddling her thumbs and balancing back and forth between her toes and her heels.
She wipes her hands on her skirt-- god forbid he go in for a handshake.

[attr="class","sorry"]after picking up the package there was nothing else to do in this bore of a town. so he did what he wanted to do on a sunday: relax. he spent the whole day locked up in his hotel room. he has basically made the couch his home for the day, barely leaving it. later on in the day he texted the girl the address and the room number, and not long after that there was a knock on the door.
with a movie still playing on the tv he rolled off the couch and headed towards the door. he's cleaned up since they last met, had a change of clothes, healed up his pokemon, gotten ready for whatever this was; he still wasn't too sure what this meeting was.
the girl he was met with when he opened the door looked different to the one he met earlier; not so angry, not so dead, cute.
"hey," he greeted, not going for a handshake or a hug. instead he just took a step back and let her enter. "sorry about the mess," he said out of nature, looking around the medium-sized hotel room that was scattered with junk: clothing, food containers, bottles, the likes. there was no smell though, which was good.
She nearly jumps out of her skin when the door opens, body twitching as he speaks. Her hands intertwine with with each other as she offers him a small smile, unsure of how to act. Just cleaning. Then again, she hadn't professionally cleaned in her life. "Hi," she steps inside, taking in the scene. It's messy, for sure, but it doesn't seem to be much more than a surface mess- turns out, Liam was just bad at putting things away. "Don't apologize, it's supposed to be a mess. Wouldn't have much to clean if it wasn't." She sets her bag down by the door, pokeballs nestled inside. Only Toad's remains on her waist-- she's decreased her load anyway. Lena had come to realize that six pokemon was just too many to train-- but she couldn't part with more than two, her heart wouldn't allow it. Croagunk and an earlier captured Pawniard had been traded off to some rando she met on the way here-- Lena figured a sharp lookin' guy like that would need them more than she would.
The first thing she does is tie up the very full trashbag, heaving it out of the can, wobbling with it to the door, and placing it down. She rustles around under kitchen cabinets. "You have more of those, right...?" Then again, the supplies were probably the hotels. She comes up with nothing, sighing. "Guess the empty can will work," even though it goes against everything her parents taught her. "What have you been up to?" God knows she's not going to let some kind of awkward silence take over as she flits around the hotel room, starting with the trash that litters the floor. It's mostly in the corners, but she doesn't dare leave one bottle or container go unnoticed.

[attr="class","sorry"]liam was not a messy person by nature, but when presented with an opportunity to be lazy he'll take it. the hotel room wasn't his and he knew the staff would have to clean it when he left anyway, so being messy here was no problem. it was a huge contrast to his room back in canalave.
his eyes followed the girl as she circled around the room, heading from one place to another picking up after his mess. he shook his head at her first question, shrugging his shoulders. "probably not," he replied. he really didn't know since he did no cleaning.
"i got the box," he replied, pointing at the sealed box on top of the kitchen counter. "no idea what's inside though," he said. it wasn't as heavy as he hoped it would be but it still weighed enough. "i also healed up the milotic that you bullied," he joked.
he walked over to the kitchen counter and sat on a high stool, letting his elbows lean against the counter. "and you? looks like you cleaned up," he chuckled.
She starts moving the clothes into a pile near the center of the room, not bothering to look directly at what she's picking up. As long as it's cloth, it goes in the pile. Upon mention of the box Lena can't help but perk up with curiosity, staring at the sealed thing. She hesitates. "What happens if we open it?" Hypothetically, of course. She gets back to her job, but now that mysterious object is glued to her mind. She needs to know what's in it right. now.
Lena feels her face burn up on mention of the earlier battle; a nervous laugh rattles her body. "Yeah, ha, well.." She couldn't exactly say the same, since she forced Liam to beat up her pokemon. "Me too," she comments, looking around for some kind of laundry basket. She finds one in the small closet, dumping the pile of clothes inside before setting it by the door with the trash bag.
"I fell asleep for about ten hours, showered, got my clothes washed, y'know, normal stuff... It had been a really rough night." Even thinking about being back out in that bone-chilling downpour gives her goosebumps. "Never travel at night." The one item she did bring was a cheap bottle/spray of disinfectant. She starts in the kitchen, for the sake of conversation, spraying down the counters and wiping them down with a washcloth she had grabbed from the bathroom. "Elbows up, or I'm spraying you next."

[attr="class","sorry"]"we lose the job most likely," he replied. he wasn't too sure what would happen since there was no rule about that in the galactic manual. the client would most likely not accept the package which meant no payment would be made. it might also get him into trouble, but that was something he was no stranger to.
"ten hours?" he snorted. he didn't get that amount of sleep on a normal night, let alone a nap. "how do you sleep that long?" he asked, lifting his elbows off the counter.
"what happened last night?" he asked. a hand reached into his pocket to pull out a phone, checking the recent messages as he listened. "pizza's on the way," he quickly commented before placing the phone on the counter. he noticed the box as well and curiosity got the better of him; or maybe it was the girl. either way he wanted to know what was inside.
"what do you think is inside?" he asked, gesturing at the box.
Lena contemplates that outcome. "I mean.. how bad would losing one job be?" She's staring at it now with hungry eyes; she almost forgets she was wiping down the counter. "We could always re-seel it, couldn't we?" She finds herself leaning over the counter on her elbows to stare at it more closely, as if she'll magically attain x-ray vision. His inquisition makes her look away, with a slight laugh. "I really needed it, I don't usually sleep that much!" She cleans up under him, moving to the small kitchen appliances around them. "I stayed up all night to get to Oreburg... it started raining and a bunch of wild pokemon showed up, and, and, I got a really mild concussion last week so I've been pretty out of it lately. Feels better today but, headache is still there. I blame it for everything," she laughs it off with a dismissal wave of her hand. "Oh, yum~"
He brings her attention back to the box. She throws the cleaning cloth in the washbin and just sits to stare at the mundane looking cardboard. "Illegal stuff, like guns or firecrackers. Big ones. Firecrackers I mean." Then again, the box doesn't seem big enough. "Pokemon? Like.. balls? er.. no, um,"balls, really? "Rare items?"
I ALWAYS WANTED TO ASK IF YOU UNDERSTOOD JUST A LITTLE OF MY FEELINGS ALTHOUGH I NEVER TOLD YOU.
[attr="class","sorry"]"it's not that bad, we just don't get paid," he responded. more importantly she wouldn't get paid her share of the money. he really didn't need the money but he just did not want to upset the galactic superiors. there was only two ranks above him now and he was so close to taking down cyrus.
all in due time. "jubilife to oreburgh isn't that far. maybe you just suck at traveling," he joked. it only took him a few hours to get to oreburgh. granted he traveled in the day where there was sunlight, but he wondered how different traveling in the night is.
"balls?" he laughed. their interest in the box was never going to go away; so he decided to forfeit the job. he slid out of his chair and walked over to a drawer in the kitchen, pulling it open to grab out a pair of scissors. there was a knife too, but that might have scared the girl.
he walked back to the counter and slid the scissors over. he sat back down and waited patiently, staring at the box.
"Well I could always go without the extra money, not like I'd have it if I hadn't run into you anyway," she comments, watching him rustle around his drawer. Her cheeks puff in defense, "I'm not shitty at traveling, I just don't like the rain.. it was cold.." she huffs. Any semblence of embarassment or poutiness disappears when he gives her the go-ahead. She nearly drops everything, and has to remind herself to be gentle with the package. Happy to know the scissors aren't to slice open her throat she takes them from him (albeit with some hesitation), and starts with the edge tape.
"You sure you want me to do it? What if it's some ID-test thing?" And yet, she keeps going. Frankly, Lena doesn't care at this point, she just wants to know what the fuck is inside. Once all tape has been cut through, she takes a breath. This is it, the big moment she's been waiting for. She nearly forgets to breath as she prys open the cardboard top, eyes locked on whatever is inside.

[attr="class","sorry"]"really? the rain is amazing," he commented. the rain was one of the things that made him want to travel. nothing beat walking in the rain or even running in the rain; and if it got too heavy there were trees everywhere to take cover under. granted people aren't supposed to do that, but he took risks.
"you seem like you want this more," he replied. he watched her slowly take the scissors and cut around the edges of the box. "it might explode but we'll be fine," he shrugged. he stared curiously at the girl as she finally opened the box.
"what's inside?" he asked, now curious too. he got off his seat and walked around the counter to where the box was, not even waiting for a response. he too peeked inside.
"Not in the middle of the night" she mutters under her breath, waving the topic off. They obviously weren't going to come to an agreement, and now the mystery of the Galactic package was much, much more important. The mention of it exploding never even occurred to her- he was right. What if it was something lethal? What if it was supposed to kill someone, or explode on the wrong person opening it?! For a brief moment a look of horror is on her face; it's quickly wiped away when she realized he's already exposed its contents. She stops. She stares.
What?
"What.. is.." she extends a hand, curious, hesitant; is it going to explode on impact? A frown shows her anxiety and she looks at him for some kind of hint or help. "What if it's.. something huge and mean and scary, or something.."
it was clear that the girl was afraid of the contents; worried that it might possibly explode. maybe he should not have made that joke in such a tense situation, but he saw an opportunity and he took it. he looked at the girl then back at the pokeball, wondering what to do next.
the only thing he thought to do is to call out whatever was inside the pokeball, but he knew he had to do it cautiously since the girl was already worried enough. he reached inside the box and gently grabbed the pokeball.
"don't worry, i'm sure your team can handle it," he laughed. he stuck out the pokeball, offering it to the girl in case she wanted to do the honors.
but in case she didn't, he would push the middle of the pokeball to open it; revealing a solosis.
"B-but they're so little right now and they're not even on me-" she stutters, the pokeball now cupped in her palms. Her fingers linger over the release button. She could have cut the tension around her, but it's released when the hotel phone starts ringing. She nearly shits her pants, her knee-jerk-reaction pressing into the pokeball, the small green psychic type inside emerging into the space in front of her. Her eyes have been squeezed shut; she realizes she's dropped the ball, literally. "P-p-pizza?" she can only stammer as she admires the fine work of poke-biology in front of her, staring wide-eyed and curiously at the little green slime ball.
It's adorable. She wants it. She needs it.
"Who.. is this going to again? In Eterna? Do they really need it? Want it? I mean if they don't, then I.."
the phone ringing didn't make him jump but it was her reaction that did. a little blob of slimey goo appeared out of the pokeball. he had to admit that it looked somewhat adorable, but he's seen cuter. he was still impressed by how it was floating around though.
he shrugged his shoulders as he walked around her and headed to the phone, picking it up. it only took a few seconds before he hung up and walked towards the main door.
"some sort of research lab in eterna," he replied. he opened the door and was greeted by the pizza delivery guy. he took out a wallet and paid the guy, thanking him then closing the door behind him as he walked back to the counter.
he placed the box of pizza on the counter before turning back to the girl and the solosis.
"it's probably better off with you than in a lab," he said. he sat back down on his chair and examined the blob. it looked interesting, that was certain.
"i hope you don't mind pineapple on pizza," he added.
She's left to admire the new friend while he takes care of the food; she doesn't even have time to offer up her own money to help, just out of politeness. "Will you get in trouble if they don't have it? Will Galactic like.. torture you or anything?" She has to remind herself not to get too close with the little pokemon, just in case. Still... how many solosis would a lab need? Surely they could just go and catch another one.. she doesn't notice any special markings or coloing in the pokemon. And life in a lab wasn't a way to live, he was right. "I'd really like to,but I have to train my full team. It's hard enough to train one pokemon, let alone 6. She was supposed to be cutting down. And yet, here she is.
She places the shrunken pokeball clip onto her belt, next to Toad's. "I've had it before, it's not bad. I'm so hungry that I'm up for anything anyway," she laughs a little, gently raising the pizza box top just a little to peek inside. The smell only makes her stomach twist and growl. The solosis seems happy to be idle; to just sit and experience world outside of a ball. It makes her happy, and she's relucatant to recall it so soon.
