Ever since Dakota decided to get more involved with covering more dangerous stories and the gym leaders and pretty much everything else he could get his hands on, he was almost constantly looking for more pokemon to add to his team. The strawberry blonde was on Route 201 this time, again taking some time out of his busy schedule traveling around Sinnoh almost constantly to look around for some new additions to his team. It was nice to just relax for a while, too, the trainer going on a scenic jog towards Sandgem Town along the road. Slowing down to catch his breath, he diverted to walk through the forest a little bit, taking a few large swigs from his water bottle as he glanced around. It didn’t take him long to catch his breath, and his adrenaline was pumping as he sought out pokemon, practically itching for a fight at the moment as his hand didn't move far from the filled pokeballs on his belt. |

The Skiddo made Dakota pause, the blonde seriously considering if he wanted the little goat or not. While in normal circumstances it wouldn’t be of much use, he couldn’t help but think that an evolved Gogoat would be good at scaling mountains. Then again, he could just get a flying type, which would be even better still. With a sigh he ran a hand through his strawberry blonde locks, looking over the grass type for another moment before he shook his head and moved on. He already had Knuckles, too. Moving a bit further into the forest next to the route, he was careful not to go too deep so he wouldn’t get lost. |

Seeing a Woobat up in a nearby tree, Dakota’s eyes lit up. It was an adorable ball of fur. Plus he knew the evolved form was rather fast and he already had the perfect name for it. “Rogue,” he muttered as he grinned wide, thinking it was too perfect. “Alright Amy, let’s do this,” he said as he plucked the pokeball for his Eevee off his belt. The small pokemon was summoned, and he immediately started the battle. He told Amy to merely use three quick attacks. The first was followed by an air cutter that hit Amy dead on, and after the second the Woobat used imprison. It did nothing. The third quick attack was followed by amnesia, which raised the Woobat’s special defense. That hardly mattered to him, honestly.
With the Woobat weakened, Dakota tossed out an empty pokeball at him. He watched excitedly, wanting to add Rogue the Woobat to his team. |

While Dakota was cheering at the capture of his Woobat, he noticed an Electrike out of the corner of his eye. Two fast pokemon in a row? It must be his lucky day! With a grin, he withdrew Amy and sent out Sonic in her place. While the Sandshrew wasn’t really fast, it was the pokemon that looked most like Sonic, and that was good enough for him. He first told Sonic to attack with fury cutter, but the electric type hit with thunder fang before it hit… Not that it did anything, with Sonic being immune to the attack. Not understanding, the Electrike tried a spark attack next, but again it did nothing. Fury swipes hit the new pokemon next, and after three that hit was a critical, Dakota tossed out a pokeball to catch the weakened Electrike. |
