major news alert!
witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
Honestly, Adler didn’t like this. He hated being out somewhere so open, but he hardly had a chance in this instance. One of Professor Rowan’s assistants was his current target, and he hadn’t found anywhere safe enough to nab the guy. So here he was, off Route 201 waiting for the guy to leave on his weekly trip to visit his mother outside of town. Behind a large boulder, he waited patiently for his target. From a distance he could hear someone approaching, and he didn’t move as he waited until the man had passed just by him. It was long enough for him to confirm that it was his target. Once he was certain, he moved fast. There was no hesitation for him to cuff the assistant’s hands behind his back, and he dragged the screaming for help and protesting man away from the path.
Reaching a clearing that he found a little earlier, he shoved the man down onto the ground. “Where can we find it?” Adler asked simply, and when the man sputtered and denied knowing what he was talking about, he delivered a harsh and brutal kick to his abdomen. “The research that your lot is doing on the legendaries, where are they conducting it?” He repeated his question, a bit more specific. Truthfully he didn’t even know if this man had the answers he was looking for- the research had been a mere rumor, to start with. But he figured it would look damn good on his part, if it was true and he could present it to Galactic. Still he wasn’t given a straight answer, so he opted for stepping on the scientist’s throat, pressing down firmly and making it almost impossible for the victim to breathe. The strangled sounds that escaped were sickening, but he was used to it. This whole time, the serious expression on his face hadn’t changed one bit.
“Don’t fuck with me, you know what I’m talking about. Dialga, Palkia, Giratina,” he listed off their names as he pushed down harder, completely cutting off the man’s airway for a few seconds, until the assistant’s face began to turn color. Only then did he let up, and the scientist gasped heavily for breath. Despite knowing damn well that the other very well might not know what he was talking about, he sounded so goddamn certain of what he was saying.
If there was anything Ethan could praise about the shanty little town of Twinleaf, it would be the chilly weather and peacefulness. Silver strands brushed would brush against his face as he walked with purpose towards the Pokemon center a few blocks ahead. Dressed casually, today Ethan was off duty and was just running an errand for a more senior officer at the Pokemon Center. Nothing big, but it paid and he had no intentions of slacking off.
The young man didn't look around much as he took brisk, quick footsteps, hands shoved into his jacket pockets before a certain cry had his stop. Brows knitted together as ears picked up on some sort of commotion close by. Curiosity got the best of him and Ethan would divert from his original destination, entering one alley that joined another and delved deeper until...
"HEY!" An almost spontaneous yell, not a moment's forethought given. Wide crimson-irdes would register the scene as a certain violet-haired male mugged a poor soul, hands curling into fists as instinct took over. As a ranger he was instructed to handle the situation carefully; analyze the situation, gauge your options and then take action accordingly.
But fuck that. Ethan just didn't roll that way.
"Yo! Drag-queen! Let the dude go," He'd snarl. He wasn't use what was going on, but no way in hell was he going to turn a blind eye on it.

And there’s what Adler had been concerned about. A soft, sigh escaped him as he turned back towards the yelling man. At least there was only one of them, nothing to really worry about. Not wanting the assistant to run away on him, he stomped hard and fast on the guy’s kneecap. While it probably wasn’t enough force to break or shatter anything, he did manage to dislocate the kneecap itself. The scientist screamed in pain, writhing on the ground as Adler turned back towards the light haired male.
“Leave,” he told the other simply, his anger hardly hidden behind piercing blue eyes. His hand twitched with the need to wrap around the man’s throat for calling him a drag queen, but for right now he was trying to hold back. Right now he was busy working, so he was willing to give the other a break if it meant he could return to his interrogation.
Turning fully towards the interrupting young man, he looked the guy over critically. The other didn’t appear to be much of a threat, but he had learned that it was best not to underestimate people. “Unless you have some sort of death wish, kid, you’ve seen nothing,” Adler added on, entirely serious. He had a feeling his offer would be ignored, with how hot headed this guy seemed to be. This was getting messier than he would have liked, that was for certain.
The violet haired male would finally turn to face him, Ethan getting a better look at his adversary now. Quite the looker but those shitty eyes had another story to tell and while the albino hated admitting it, the intimidating vibe the brute emanated could not be ignored.
As as much as he disliked it, it seemed there was a need to establish a sense of authority with the man. "Not happening," He'd retort, and With eyes fixed on the older man, Ethan would flick at his belt and hold out his ranger badge. An explanation was redundant. He wasn't going anywhere.
The ranger would take a few brave albeit cautious steps forward as he pocketed his badge once more. "Last chance. Get away from him and put your hand over your head," He'd order, his voice raised by a few decibels now, and hoped the male would comply. Eyes wandered as he prepared himself to counter any sort of weaponry the offender may have possessed.
And if Adler didn't comply, well, more drastic measures were in need.

Well, at least he had given a warning. Adler couldn’t help but sigh in annoyance as this guy refused to back down, and his irritation only grew as he recognized the ranger badge. Just his goddamn luck. “Just one hand?” The Galactic Grunt repeated with a raised brow, purposefully pointing out the flaw in what the ranger said to mock him. His eyes lingered on the scientist for a moment, and he was fairly confident that his victim with the dislocated knee wasn’t going anywhere soon.
“Alright, alright,” Adler said as he raised his hands up above his head in fake surrender, taking a couple steps back from the assistant as well. The older man waited only until the ranger was closer, before he spun around raised his leg in a high kick right at the side of the other’s head, easily flexible and fast enough for the maneuver. Regardless of whether or not it connected, he’d follow it up with a quick punch to the stomach to try winding the younger one. The sneak attack wasn’t fair and it was brutal, but Adler was highly accustomed to such strategies.
The Galactic Grunt didn’t even consider using his pokemon to fight, as he generally viewed his Ralts as utterly useless.
"...T-Two," Ethan would murmur when the thug called him out on his slip up despite having no obligation to. This whole ranger rules and regulations were fucking hard to comply by, and it didn't help that he slipped up whenever he even tried to stick by them. Eyes momentarily flickered to the victim, his groans and injuries mandating a 'tch' from the albino's lips.
Pulling out a pair of handcuffs, Ethan would eye the male cautiously as he approached him - quite certain he would be able to catch any sudden movements.
Apparently he was wrong.
SMACK! The handcuffs dropped and his vision went dark momentarily as the kick hit it's mark, Ethan recoiling back in pain with a hand held over his head. Adequately discombobulated, he was in no shape to dodge the second as well, the air sucked out of his lungs when the punch landed.
But he wasn't going to give in just yet.
"You fuck!" Jerking his head upward the albino would attempt to grip onto Adler's extended hand and pull him forward, his other hand balled into a fist and readied to strike the drag-queen straight in the face.
