"Here?" Adrien would whine, brows furrowed as he stood by the stairs that went down to the beach, a hand held above his brow as he shielded his eyes from the beating sun. Unlike usual, the man today dotted a simple white t-shirt and a thin sleeveless jacket over it, the temperatures in Sangdem mandating lighter wear.
And for Adrien Arkwright, someone who rarely dressed in anything lesser than a casual blazer at a public venue, the change was... Different. Private pools were a usual occurrence but a public beach was something new. Stroll by near-vacate beaches were welcomed but today...
"There are so many people here... "
The Arkwright male would squint his eyes and fold his arms over his chest as he scanned the beach. There were dozens of folks and families out there enjoying another summer day, although for Adrien the crowd was too bustling for any peace. "Why here?" He'd tilt his head over his shoulder and at Jason, a brow cocked as he frowned. While he knew the significance of the beach and the memory he cherished of the place, the spy was too prideful to ever admit it.
"Mhmm." Jason affirms, eyes scanning the familiar beach where they'd met. "I can't believe you'd wear a jacket over it, even if it is sleeveless." He snorts, lightly tugging at the clothing. It's hot enough with a tanktop on. It seems as if Adrien will never break free of his formal look, even if it's burning outside.
Jason rolls his eyes at the complaining. "You didn't seem to care when you were drunk the other day." He says, although there's no bite to his words. He smiles knowingly, because Adrien's still completely unaware of the video of him and his cheesy pickup lines.
Adrien then looks back at Jason, one brow raised, confusion on his face. He can only shrug his shoulders in an attempt to be casual, although he's sure that they both know the answer why.
"Sentiment." He admits truthfully, and forgoes any thought of being snarky or mean. Because for all that he can be an asshole, Jason can also be just as sober. He extends a hand, tentatively reaching for Adrien's, and smiles.

Adrien would shrug at the tug at his jacket - bare t-shirts were a rarity to him. "I can manage," He'd murmur as he'd shove his hands into his pocket -- a habit as he preferred garbs with pockets and spaces to place a few essentials in. He'd side-eye his boyfriend at the comment about him being drunk on their first date. The spy was still able to remember it, well at least parts of it -- the small talk and cheesy lines however were never recalled ever again,
"I wasn't that drunk. And that crowd isn't like...well, not like this" He'd outstretch an arm at a child that toddled past with a ice cold slush, tripping over another child building a sandcastle and spilling his drink all over the place. Unsurprisingly both kids began wailing. Annoying.
"Sentiment."
"Oh?" Adrien's lips pulled taut as he turned to Jason, a brow cocked -- impressed that the ranger was able to admit so. "Sentiment, huh? Such a girl," He'd grin and tease as he raised his hand to pull the ranger's cheek in jest. Whether or not his hand was slapped away, the alabaster male would take a moment to scan the crowd.
"Mmmm....too late," He'd firmly grip onto Jason's offered hand and tugged it as he descended the sandy set of stairs, eyes turned away from Jason, a soft hint of red on his features. Despite Adrien's voice brimming with confidence, there was still some awkward shyness in holding Jason's hand before such a large crowd.
"So, Mr. Romantic, what have you planned out for today?"
Jason snorts, instantly recalling the night of their first date. "I'm pretty sure you nearly got us killed drunk driving." He says, rolling his eyes, remembering especially the moment where he felt his life flashing before him. And the video; the perfect blackmail material.
Adrien motions to the children in front of them, who had just started crying, their frantic mother soothing their wounds. Jason can't help but huff a laugh at such childish antics. Adrien's far from a kid person, and he's probably not much of a family man, either.
Regardless, those facts pale in comparison to Adrien himself, lovable despite being a rich asshole. He might just change his mind as he slaps his hands away from squeezing his cheeks, and rubs at it with a side glare at Adrien. Again, asshole. But he digresses.
"Well someone's gotta be." He counters, because as much as he loves to bicker and fight with Adrien, he'd just like to spend time together with him, too. He's sure that the other feels the same way.
"You're just too much of a pussy to admit that you are too, you ass."
To his relief, Adrien decides to stay - despite all the whining - and reaches forward to hold his hand, tugging him down the stairs. Jason grins victoriously from behind him, especially when his ears turn pink. There's no shame to holding hands, even if people stare.
"I wanted to talk to you about something important."

"Mm," Adrien would just purse his lips and try to brush off that statement about drunk driving. He could have sworn it was the oncoming car's fault although the more he thought about it, the more the truth set in that he probably was about to get them killed. A tinge of guilt was felt as he'd begin thinking of ways to make up for that slip-up.
"Yeah, Yeah..." He'd roll his eyes at the jab tossed at him, an exasperated sigh escaping his lips as he weaved through the crowd. True. He wouldn't admit to something like that unless he was drunk. Which, thankfully, he wasn't.
Although the man could still muster up a quiet comment. "And that's why it's my favourite beach..." He'd murmur, eyes averted from the male once more. And it wasn't a lie. Sandgem held quite an amusing memory; from a simple stroll by the shoreside and picking a fight with a stranger to returning here with the very same person, but now they stood by his side rather than against.
He'd weave through the crowd, slowing down considerably to just walk besides Jason, the initial shyness now lowly dissipating as he realized not many stared or gawked at them.
Something important. Adrien froze, a hundred and one different theories racing through his mind as his head slowly turned to meet the redhead's eyes. "Huh? I-Important?" He'd cock a brow and ask, half reluctant and hesitant to know. As far as he was accustomed to, the 'Talk to you about something important' line was one of the more dangerous lines in a relationship. And it didn't help that he was Galactic.
"What did I do?" The spy would impulsively spout out, his intonation taking on a more defensive stance now.
Sandgem's citizens are much more forgiving than Celestic's, and the people barely cast them a glance as they pass. It's pleasant as they wander down the beach, closer to the gentle waves and soft sands; away from loud children in the background. Jason only smiles at Adrien's murmur, unwilling to ruin this moment together.
Adrien grows anxious at Jason's words, and he can't help but laugh a little. "You didn't do anything. Unless you ended up in another hospital again." He teases, referring to the near heart attacks he'd gotten upon each one of his visits.
Jason had refrained from questioning Adrien about them, but he can't help but wonder. He really does care about him. He can't deny the sense of warmth that comes with every encounter, or how his worries seem to melt away when they speak. It's partly the reason why he chose to come here today.
It's mostly empty by the time they reach their destination, the place where they first met. The initial fight and first kiss, to Jason's amusement. At this, he leads them to where the waves would wash upon their feet, the crowds of people far behind them. It's undoubtedly as romantic and sentimental as it can be.
He turns to Adrien, reaching forward for his other hand, and looks him with the warmest expression he can muster. There's a clear idea of what he wants to say in his mind, but now that they're face to face, it's difficult to voice outloud. Jason smiles nervously, eyes darting away from the other's.

"Aha...ha. I see," He'd gulp down his anxiety and put up a smile. While Jason brushed it off, Adrien had already began overthinking the situation. You didn't do anything. That was another way of saying -"It's not you, it's me." A warning sign of sorts. As Jason led him to the more quieter area of the beach, Adrien would stiffen considerably, lost in thought and anticipating the worse. In his panic, he had completely forgotten that this was the place they had met. The ranger would finally stop, turn and take his other hand, and the setting made it all too clear.
He wanted to break up, didn't he?
"Um. Adrien...?"
"Le-Let's not do this," He'd cut the ranger off, his voice carrying a decent bit of hesitation, his hands gripping onto Jason's tightly. "If it's about the driving thing, I'm really sorry. I know I was reckless and I won't do it again," An almost spontaneous response as Adrien tensed up, words pouring out stiffly as he tried to keep a calm face. "And I'm sorry about being such a jerk all the time. I won't anymore. I am really really into you, I promise," Pulling Jason's leg was one way he showed affection though mayhaps he had gone too far as of recent. Being so honest about himself was sickening and awkward.
Eyes drifted downward and away from the redhead, a tinge of guilt in his voice.
Jason's nerves had made him hesitant, but he knows he shouldn't be afraid of what he's about to say. He looks back at Adrien, but he finds that he's more anxious than ever. He's always so confident that it's strange to see him actually nervous. The grip on his hands tighten, and Jason looks at him in slight confusion.
"Are you--"
Le-Let's not do this, he says, cutting him off. Jason's confusion only multiplies, and for a moment he thinks that Adrien might just be breaking up with him. Such a thought makes him uneasy and upset -- they'd only started, how could things end so abruptly? He tightens his own grip and seeks to respond with his own apologies and forgiveness, but Adrien beats him to it.
His confessions both stir of feelings of relief and sympathy at the same time; because Adrien shouldn't have thought it that when he said that he wanted to say something important. Jason shakes his hands, leaning down to take a glance at Adrien's face. For once he's happy to be slightly shorter. Jason leans forward to softly kiss him.
"Hey, Adrien, look at me."
He says, taking a moment to gather his thoughts. "Don't ever change yourself for me. I wasn't even thinking of having us separate, okay? I love you the way you are."
The word slides off his tongue, unfamiliar yet fitting. It may be cheesy and affectionate, but Jason would like to get his message through Adrien's thick skull somehow. He hadn't realized how much his words would've affected him, and Jason can see that he's uncomfortable at being so open about his feelings.
"I was just going to say how much I appreciate you and your asshole-self. But I mean if you're going to cry I can comfort you too."

"Hey, Adrien, look at me."
Can't. Eyes continued to look downward; staring at the sand had suddenly become the most interesting thing in the world. A sigh of sorts escaped his lips as he closed his eyes and prepared himself to accept the harsh reality that was their separation.
If only that were true.
Instead, confused eyes would plant themselves on Jason's visage as he leaned down and kissed him. "Oh...I didn't, I thought..." Confusion was soon replaced by a genuine soft smile as Jason continued, shoulders slumping as worry dissipates. He'd chuckle as he'd inhale, prepared to speak those few words he couldn't before. " Jason, same. I lov--"
Cry. Comfort. Jason struck a nerve.
The spy bit down on his lip, brows knitting together and eyes narrowing at the ranger. "Tch. Idiot!" He'd move back and slip his hands out of Jason's, a palm extended to shove the man back gently. Those words before were beautiful but at the end of the day, Jason had to remind him that he was an asshole. Fingers would run through his silver threads as he turned around a walked a few steps, regaining his composure and laughing quietly at his own slip-up before turning back around.
Adrien wasn't going to let the ranger one-up him.
Quick, brisk steps were taken as he approached Jason, a sly grin across his face as a hand reached for the back of the ranger's head. "My Idiot," He'd attempt to roughly pull the man towards himself and lock lips with him deeply. This guy; adorable, lovable, honest and yet such a jerk. He was girlish, he was snarky and yet, at the end of the day... He's mine.
His words successfully calm Adrien's fears, and Jason watches as the tension suddenly leaves his shoulders, replaced by relief. He smiles, his expression soft and open. Jason captures it in his mind's eye, because so rarely does Adrien ever stray from his arrogant grin.
It's short lived, however, when Jason ruins it. Adrien takes his hands out of his and shoves him back, turning around and walking a few steps away. Jason can't help but laugh. He's slightly guilty for ruining such a serene moment, because Adrien had nearly said the words that he'd been waiting for since the start of their relationship.
But it's a confirmation for better things to come, and when Adrien returns he's laughing. There's a suspicious grin on his face, and Jason can't evade him when he reaches for the back of his head, pulling him roughly in for a kiss.
Possessive. Arrogant. Those things should turn him off. Yet, Adrien's a whole other person with him. Gentle when he needs to be. Sentimental when nudged in the right direction. Jason doesn't know what compels him to Adrien, but he's glad that he gets him all to himself, especially right now, at this very moment.
Jason gently pushes on Adrien's shoulders, breaking away from the kiss. He grins, looking around at the beach. There's a few people around, but it's not hard to miss them. He snickers.
"Wow Adrien. You're suddenly possessive for someone who was so shy about holding hands."

Lips parted and Adrien recoiled his head gently as the ranger pulled back, although the distance between did not widen considerably. "I wasn't shy!" The stark-haired male would snap back and retort, a slight grimace replacing his victorious smirk. Despite being on point, Jason's remark was mildly irritating as the spy had tried his best to keep his cool. Apparently Jason was able to see through the act with ease and even then Adrien would adamantly deny it.
"You love ruining the mood, don't you?" A huff as he shook his head in jest, his hands returning to their rightful place in his hoodie pockets. "How do I even romance an asshat like yourself?" A playful comment as he leaned forward, narrowed his eyes and awaited an answer, before a certain intrusion would having his tilt his head back. "Mm?" He'd cock a brow as a man in the distance called them out for their...shenanigans.
Family beach. Idiots. Public. The ranting went on and on and Adrien would straighten up and was about to move away in compliance when the male just began getting offensive and loud. Turning sideways, the spy's lips visibly twitched -- being yelled in public and told off taken as quite an insult, especially by some fat middle-aged bloke from afar. If the man wanted a fight, he'd get one.
Get out, faggots. The final insult hit hard, Adrien's usual adamance and confrontational stance dissipating with that word and a sense of humiliation taking over. He'd turn his head away and refocus his gaze towards the sea reflexively. Lips pursed, reality hitting hard that his actions were perhaps not acceptable - they weren't in Celestic and alas, apparently not here as well.
"Hehe, forget the creep. Let's go," Despite the dejection, he'd speak calmly as he wore an indifferent expression and began plodding towards the quieter part of the beach.
Jason's shitty grin should be enough to get the message across -- of course he was shy. Adrien's hesitant to show any type of affection, especially out in public. Endearing. And slight satisfying for Jason, to see Adrien squirm at such thoughts. He can deny all he wants, but his actions speak for itself.
Adrien huffs, stuffing his hands back into his pockets, and shakes his head at him. "Like this.." Jason murmurs, ducking his head for another attempt at a kiss before they're rudely interrupted.
He cranes his neck, squinting at the middle aged man from afar. He sees turn back out of the corner of his eye, obviously annoyed. It doesn't get any better from there -- the last comment even includes a slur, one he'd never expected to be thrown at him. At this, Jason glances at Adrien, and watches as his tense body suddenly slump in defeat and humiliation.
He remembers how they wanted to keep this relationship quiet. How Adrien had been from the traditional town of Celestic and how those people were extremely conservative and judgmental.
Public displays of affection was one thing, but homophobia is an entirely other. That last comment is like insult to injury, and Jason will not stand for such an attack. He reaches forward to hold at Adrien's arm.
"Wait here."
He turns suddenly, marching to where the stranger stands. The guy only gets angrier from there, shouting explicit words and how their relationship wasn't 'natural'. At this, Jason's hands clench into fists.
"What's your deal? You better leave before my gay ass punches you in the face."

"Hm?," A blank stare was shot at Jason when he stopped the spy from going on his way, Adrien's indifferent gaze slowly morphing to one of alarm when the blond male headed towards the imbecile. "Jason," He'd call out once although apparently wasn't loud enough. Following his boyfriend, the male would be taken aback by the next few words the ranger spoke.
Oh. God. No. That fucking idiot.
A hint of red appeared on the spy's face when Jason took issue with the stranger's words, Adrien both flustered by the attention and yet found the ranger's sudden initiative endearing and admirable. But there were consequences. Without a doubt the fatass of a beach goer was instigated by Jason's comment and would attempt to yank the man forward by his tank top. Whether or not Jason was caught in it, Adrien would quickly reach the spot and pull back on Jason's shoulder.
"Jason... Let's... Go, " The spy would mumble between gritted teeth, his grip on the man's shoulder tightened as he turned his focus to the homophobe. "The Crasher Wake wannabe isn't worth it," He'd speak a littlr louder this time and hoped Jason would heed his words. A few more insults where thrown their way and Adrien's brow twitched in sheer annoyance. There was a limit to his own paitence too, but alas if it meant saving his pretty-boy boyfriend from getting hit, he'd keep his cool.
But if the man did go ahead and lay a finger on his idiot, then well, Adrien would have already prepared himself to spend a few months behind bars.
He hears Adrien call his name behind him, but it goes unheeded as his vision tunnels on the man in front of him. The man grips at his shirt and yanks him forward, but Jason doesn't break eye contact. If he gets a punch, then he'll take it. Jason shoves himself away, and turns when Adrien grips at his shoulder.
"It's wrong."
The man doesn't hesitate to voice more insults despite them, and Jason's instantly heated. His fist clenches into a fist, and before anyone can really stop him he throws a solid punch right into the guy's jaw.
It doesn't knock him back, but it does make him angry. He's glad that he wasn't in his ranger garb, although they should leave quickly should the scene escalate more than it already has. Jason's eyes widen before he backs up a couple steps, turning tail and reaching forward to grab at Adrien's hand.

"It's wrong,"
"..." Adrien grip on Jason's shoulder loosened up, his gaze turning indifferent at those words. Wrong was an odd word in this context. Being gay was something of a guilty pleasure in Adrien's eyes - he loved a man, but coming from Celestic town, he couldn't help but sometimes feel that what he was doing was 'wrong'. Alas, even then it felt strangely right. And just so perfect. Shaking off his self-conflict, Adrien would pull back at Jason's shoulder once more and sigh. "Jason, let's just g--" THWACK! In one sudden movement, before Adrien could even react, the ranger's fist had plunged into the man's jaw. Oh. Fuck. No. Eyes widened in horror and in those few moments that it took for the blue-haired galactic to register what had just happened, Jason had already grabbed his hand and made a run for it. "R-Right," Finding his footing, Adrien would follow right behind the ranger. Quite the date this turned out to be. Tilting his head over his shoulder he'd find that the heavier male hot on their tracks, one swear after another flying their way.
Fortunately, the man's rather obese frame would hinder from getting too far, the individual soon panting for air as he leaned on his knees. Having made some decent distance and the male soon out of sight, Adrien would slow down and stop taking a moment to catch his own breath. The whole thing was juvenile. And that was coming from him; a man who'd fight to have the last word against a twelve year old. But what bothered him more was...
SMACK! Turning around to face Jason and if he wasn't quick enough, he'd find the Galactic's hand swatting the top of head midly. "You idiot! Was that necessary?!" His voice was loud as he stared at the blond. Sometimes the ranger was just too unpredictable, even for Adrien.
