major news alert!
witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
when gerald reached out, her heart paused with terror. a reaction she was never able to overcome. even after years doing his biding, her body never seemed at ease. the directions of his messenger were clear, she was handed a package and her task was to deliver it to a certain illegal organization. one that caused harm to those she’d vowed to protect. she exercised her mind into character, someone who wouldn’t tremble to the thought of wrong doings. [break] although she’d always felt, on the back of her head, a sentiment of betrayal, it wasn’t the first interaction she had with a galactic member. for said reason her father wouldn’t flinch to the thought of her, being a ranger, meeting a rival, as his daughter was too self-aware to risk her own family.[break] a red scarf masked her face, a hidden identity kept her integrity as a ranger completely intact, at least to others. the rest of her body was dressed with a thick white coat and gloves to prevent exposing more of herself to the unsettling weather of the region. since the route was painted in snowy ink in its entirety, it took her a while to find the meeting place, which seemed exaggerated even for a secretive deliver. she hoped for the other to arrive soon. it wouldn’t be long for her to be buried in snow and join the wilderness in its climatic disguise.

When a mission came through earlier that day, Molly had assumed it was easy. Pick up a packet at a rendeavou point and take it back to headquarters. It didn't look difficult at all, at least, until she looked at the designated polace.
Snowpoint.
She exhales angrily, slightly upset at being sent to such a remote, cold place. Birds don't bode well in this type of environment, so Cuddles the Swablu is kept in his pokeball. Her Vulpix, however, snuggles futher into her arms as she makes her way to the secret area. Her face may be freezing, but at least the rest of her body is warm.
Snow crunches at her feet as she makes her way further into the wilderness. She's not even sure if she's going the right way, but then Molly spots a bright red scarf, a sharp contrast to the blanket of white behind her. It's the messenger she heard about.
"Venus?"
She calls out, crisp and clear in the silence of winter. Molly waves and smiles, putting up her friendly persona despite being annoyed at the mission. Upon closer inspection she can see that the person has a thick coat on that blends into the snow behind her, with gloves to match.
She's glad they're wearing that bright red scarf, or else she would've never seen them, although it'd be nice to have a glance at their face. "What's this?" She starts, taking a couple steps closer. Molly leans over, probably too close for anyone's liking, and waves a hand over their scarf.
"You trying to hide something?"
Taar Godfrey i hope it's ok!! tell me if u need an edit 4 anything
she first spotted the vulpix, which made her recall her companions held on a belt around her waist, most precisely hale whom hated being trapped on the container. however for deliveries like this, she’d prefer her team didn’t take any part of lonesome role. [break] after hearing the unfortunate alias designed to her, she immediately took the package out of her coat, unbuttoned nearly enough to take it out, eager to end the transaction. it seemed the feeling wasn’t mutual as the galactic member approached her. the wind whistled reaching for her exposed skin through the coat’s opening, leaving her to impatiently stand erect before the woman. taar’s gaze searched for memories apparently lost, regarding the other’s familiar frame. unable to recognize a probably known feature added to the list another reason to prevent her cover of being blown. “everything you want is in the package.” she grunted in her breath, voice muffled by the velvet fabric. her head signaled to the box, which hung midair supported by taar’s hand and the other’s torso seeing she leaned in closer to the ranger.

Molly watches from afar as the person suddenly returns their pokemon, obvious in the white snow. That's strange. Maybe they feel the need to make her feel comfortable? Molly doubts it, but she'll take it unless proved otherwise.
They take the package out of their coat, holding it out to her with stiff movements. Molly lets go of Chanel, her Vulpix dropping to the ground with grace. It's not heavy as it rests on her hip, and when she takes it, she clutches at it. She holds it close to her chest and shivers against the cold winds. She sucks in a breathe through her teeth.
"Thanks."
The stranger's a little taller than her, and that's the only thing she can infer from them. Their frame is lost under the thick coat, and their voice is muddled under their damn scarf, but she recognizes it from somewhere. Molly tilts her head, curiosity taking the best of her. It's far from recent, but the voice is distinct enough for her to know that she's heard it before.
"Hey, you didn't answer my question." She insists, reaching up to poke them, and even hook her finger around their scarf if they'd let her.
taar sensed their encounter might have led out an impression that they were on the same side. actually for the sake of the mission, they were. rivalry aside and she still couldn’t let anyone see that side of hers, one who would contact a criminal and do nothing she was taught to by the academy.[break] she took a step back, her hands immediately crashed onto the other’s palm, preventing them from poking anywhere they weren’t invited. that kind of curiosity, an intrusive one, had been her first. she wasn’t exactly sure how to act upon the threat, but she voiced husky enough for the girl to understand their meeting was over. "no, actually. you can’t. we’re done here." she motioned to leave, whilst buttoning her coat. she didn’t not look back to galactic agent, hoping her persistence ended back at the marking point.
Her hands push away at hers, rather aggressively, and Molly knows that she's hiding something. She furrows her eyebrows, her face twists into a pout, and she suddenly angry because she can't get what she wants.
"Aww really?!" She yells, putting her hands on her hips. It may have been childish, but she can't help it. The stranger brushes her off like she's nothing, buttoning her coat, and motions to go away. The stranger doesn't glance at Molly as they turn away, presumably back to their base or whatever.
But Molly considers herself as stubborn as she is pretty, and she considers herself very highly. She huffs, watching the stranger walk only a couple steps before Molly launches forward, package forgotten in a flurry out snow, and reaches to clutch at the stranger's arm.
that reaction. taar’s disappointed at herself for not recognizing her sooner. her name was molly if she remembered correctly. they’ve met before in another setting, at the ranger academy. she wondered where the girl went after she noticed the other dropped out. she’d never think she would pursue a criminal intake. well, no one would think that of her either, but there she was staring back at the supposed enemy begging to see her face. the strangest encounter she’s ever had, to be noted.[break] “i’m sorry. but do you think its safe engaging a complete stranger who clearly doesn’t want to be bothered, in the middle of nowhere?” she calmed her tone, but hardened the words not to break character and tip her off with her soft manner. she reached again for the girl’s hand, now locked in a tight grip on the ranger’s arm. taar slowly took her hand off of her whilst reassuring the other that they weren’t missing anything not knowing who she was. “leave it alone. go back to your hq or something, make your bosses happy by delivering that package to them.” well, that was an awful lot for someone who doesn’t communicate so often.
Molly reluctantly lets herself get pulled off of the strangers arm. Despite their insistence that they're not safe, their touch is surprisingly gentle. Molly pouts, and makes sure she stands in front of them in case they start walking away again. They make no move to do so, even though they're a little irritated. She smiles.
"Well nothing's happened to me yet."
Her answer is simple yet naive, and Molly is completely aware of it. The only time they were aggressive is when she tried to take their scarf off their face. It must be an identity thing, although she can't fathom as to why this person would want to hide themselves.
"Don't you wanna be friends?"
She suddenly turns her gaze away, thinking of the possible options. They're probably not going to be swayed by talking, and she doubts that they'll stay long enough for her to get closer enough.
Drastic times calls for drastic measures.
She launches herself forward, hands outstretched towards the red target, eyes locked on her scarf. Molly is far from the best fighter, but she's banking on the element of surprise. She's not looking for a fight, but she'd be lying if she thought she'd get through this without a couple bruises. Or more.
if she left the moment the mission was completed, she might’ve been arriving at the cabin. although it had been rented with gerald’s money, anywhere would be warmer and less risky than where she was, standing in the cold with a pretty insistent galactic member. taar watched the other’s responses, maybe it was the sudden familiarity she had with the girl that made her stumble on her thoughts. when considering maybe showing her who she was, wouldn’t be the end of the world, seeing she might not even remember her, taar shifted her gaze for a mere second dismissive of the last words directed to her. upon a closer examination of the situation, she decided to simply walk away from the imminent trouble molly was subjecting both of them to. it wouldn’t be worth continuing their transaction.[break] the attack was surely unexpected for an apparent naive figure, crushing taar’s late decision, in which would’ve prevented reactions like that. molly’s hands came locking on the fabric of taar’s scarf, too close. the ambush, although clean, was troubled by taar’s years of experience in martial arts. the cadet instinctively batted her own wrists against the others, in order to spread the girl’s arms, keeping her noisy fingers away from her identity. she managed to grab one targeted wrist, the other skilled hand landed on molly’s shoulder, turning her back with a twist. taar’s palm pressed firmly against the neck of the attacker as she pulled one of molly’s arms just enough to lock her into position. “seeing my face isn’t worth this. you don’t even know me. do this again and i’ll break your arm.” this time around taar made sure to give her best authority figure performance, basically she just mimicked gerald when he visited.[break] due to the motion, she noticed her own feet unable to move, buried in deep layers of cold. she decided to stay still, up until the girl’s surrender, only then she’d brush of the snow keeping her in place.
Molly's inexperience shows in the fight, and it's a blur until she finds her face crushed into the snow, her arm uncomfortably pinned against her back, and another hand on her neck. She flails her body anyways, hoping at least to curtail what diginity she's lost in her attack.
"But I do know you! I don't know where but you sound so familiar!" She cries. She suddenly slumps, turning her face to the side, and simmers into a pout. If there's one solace in this, it's that she managed to nearly take the scarf off.
It's then that Chanel comes to the rescue, unnoticed as time passed. She's as cunning as her trainer, sneaking up behind the stranger as Molly struggles and provides a distraction. A ROAR would surely startle her, if not blow her back slightly.
If the opportunity presented itself, Molly would launch herself up, diving again towards the scarf, knowing that she's probably going to get her arm broken because of it. She must know. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but she doesn't care at the moment she'll do anything to just know who it is.
familiar. she wondered how molly could’ve sensed something even with the precautions she took covering every inch of her body and the change of voice by the mask. taar’s expression tensed itself, her stomach complain and her consciousness shouted. she felt sick and wet from the melting flakes. the ranger turned her face away, remaining her strength on the other, incapable of staring one more second at that whole situation.[break] however, the unfortunate other attempt to make a surprise move ended up working on the cadet. she jumped to the unsettling noise that caught her ears, resulting on a lighter grip on molly’s wrist and a jerked body. "fu-." her trapped feet and a surprisingly rushed frame caused her to crash onto the snow covered ground. a successful pull was enough to make taar sigh in disappointment with herself, her face now uncovered received cold wind to previously warmed lips. “god.” eyes rolled exasperatedly, head signing in disbelief on the snow. “never thought i’d be defeated by ice.” in that position, she knew there was nothing else to be said or done.

"You got defeated by me, too." She giggles, straddling her new victim. With her face uncovered, Molly can see her face clearly. She pulls her face close to the stranger's, and finds that they're not very stranger at all. Her eyes light up in recognition, a childish, victorious grin on her face, and she suddenly straightens.
"Oh! I remember you!" She says, "You were in a couple of my classes. Tara? Tessa...?" She starts, her memory hazy. She'd dropped out a little before she graduated, the names of students quickly forgotten as she moved on with her life.
She flashes an apologetic smile. "What's your name? Mine's Molly." Chanel walks up, peeking her head from behind her trainer. She stands and gets off of her, because the snow is cold and relentless, especially in the face, and she's sure that the former stranger is already angry enough at her.
Molly brushes off whatever snow had gotten on the red scarf, and offers it to her, slightly sheepish. She can't help but feel guilty. Molly realizes that she may have crossed a line, especially considering that they took so much effort to keep her away from it.
"I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't have done that. Can I make it up to you somehow...? Coffee?"

the ranger’s frame remained the same for most of the conversation, a lightly confused disappointed mess. her brows furrowed to the constant invasion of space. the other seemed amused enough giving her victory. only then, under a smaller less trained figure, taar realized how much she didn’t try to overcome the situation. keeping a conversation? stopping to take molly’s hand calmly off of her? it may have been a way to overcome her father, to stop being weary of others whom had nothing to do with what she had been through and show him that she was her own person.[break] upon hearing the former cadet guesses, she envied her lack of memory. one of her most daring wishes was, indeed, to forget everything and everyone she’s encountered. in addition to that, with some help of the universe (maybe?), everyone else would forget about her too, specially a certain man. she wouldn’t mind that at all.[break] still underneath, her mind returned to the conversation. as of now the query seemed harmless and she had no excuses whatsoever, nor did she want to have. "uh.. i’m taar." there she was, her common self. the softest of speaker whom missed the innocent girl she was before. no venus and definitely not a messenger. she mimicked molly’s motion, getting up as soon as she didn’t have another’s body pressed against her. now on her own two feet, her body was hit by the amount of snow she’s been in contact with. the cold punished her from head to toe, reason she accepted the scarf back with a content smile forming on her lips.[break] the apology crashed her ears, already sensitive to the icy wind. her gaze previously on the vulpix that once attacked her, wondering if the pokemon was afraid of her or even pissed for jumping on her trainer, came back to the galactic member. the offer caught her off guard, specially due to the sincere tone. it wouldn’t hurt to make an acquaintance once in a while. curiosity worked her this time as she thought of the reasons molly had to join such hurtful organization. accepting it meant turning her back on principles, ones she’s been breaking for years. there wasn’t a excuse that could’ve worked, she just had to admit to herself the thought of having coffee with the other painted a warmer setting than where they’re standing. she just had one set back. "i’d love to take you up on that… but i can’t be seen with you." for someone who was on the ‘good’ side, she looked too remorseful.

Molly says, smiling. Taar was the quiet girl in class. She hadn't said much, but she was nice. Molly was never one to stray too far from her own social group, although she was far from mean. At least, outwardly. Meeting her now is a great opportunity to reconnect.
"Why're you all the way out here?" She asks casually, brushing away the specks of white snow on her sleeve. She's adequately clothed, but her face remains uncovered and red from the cold. Molly picks up her Vulpix, who looks at Taar with caution. She cooes at her pokemon. "Relax. We were just um. Playing." She says, although Chanel's reluctant to believe that. She's not hostile, however, and instead lays limp in Molly's arm.
With her other hand she picks up the packet she'd originally came for. She shakes away what snow has settled on top, and tucks it into her jacket for safe keeping. Her attention is directed back to Taar. Fortunately, she's open to the idea, and whatever hostilities that marked their earlier meeting has disappeared. Molly hums while she thinks of the possibilities.
"Uh. Well like, I can buy the coffee and meet you at place that's discrete?"
Taar Godfrey NO i like it it's just that molly's a il new i hope it's ok ;aa;
taar’s head tilted to the query. with a brow quirked she replied. "uh… this was the marking point." the pause typified her wandering eyes. "of the… y’know." she pointed awkwardly to the package, swallowing dry. the fact the other remembered her was kind of a big deal, seeing she made sure to vanish from people’s eyesight in the academy, even if she contacted them once or twice. she didn't want to mention it, the less she brought the academy up the more they could focus on the present. a quick smile was directed to the vulpix when molly turned to it, trying to clarify the situation, by lying.[break] there was no point of keeping her intentions a secret, she was tired of doing so for the past eight years anyway. "you know what?" she responded rather enthusiastically for a shy figure. they might as well make the best of an unfortunate situation. she thought. "my employer rented me a cabin north from here. it has everything you can imagine in there." one of the perks of being the most efficient doer and abused child of gerald's business. she grinned, making sure to talk as fast as she could so they could leave that white inferno. "may i have your phone, please?" she motioned to take her gloves off to receive the device. if the request were to be accepted she'd insert the destination of the cabin along with a hurried 'XTRA SUGAR PLS' on the screen and hand it back to its owner. taar would take off as soon as molly's eyes left her.
NOTES then pls tell me if you cant see molly in this situation pls !!!! | TAG |molly rhodeWORDS | 200 MUSE | x
