The Essence

What exactly makes up one's essence?[break]
Is it something they're born with or something that's created?[break]
Perhaps it's a combination of both, if so then how can one determine how the essence grows?[break][break]

People with happy upbringings often grow into bad people as subjective as that may be. Vice versa people with sad upbringings often grow into caring people.[break][break]

Our subject is a good example of this. We theorize this is because he doesn't want people to feel how he feels. At first his desire to help people seemed to be a defense mechanism to save the subject from his own sadness. This mechanism seemed to grow into a personality trait of sorts as the years have passed. Regardless of conjecture and theories we all have agreed that adopting the boy was the best possible choice offered to us, he brings us and the rest of the facility joy each and every day.[break][break]

The Body

We've made sure his upbringing was as normal as possible, as the subject's adopted father I realize not only am I extremely biased in my evaluations of the boy, but I've come to care for him far more than anyone could have anticipated, in fact we all have. He currently has dreams of joining the Pokemon Ranger Association,[break][break]

"I want to do for other people, what you've done for me dad." [break][break]

I can't be prouder. The experiment's success or failure in my eyes is now irrelevant as we've done something greater than science could achieve, as people We here at the Fortree center have managed to successfully raise a good human being. [break][break]

I've given him my full consent as long as he can meet the physical standards of the organization. Even as I write this he's out training himself for the trials to come. Out of respect for my fellow researchers I plan to continue my correspondences, but I will not allow any negative interference from the organization or anyone for that matter concerning the mental and physical state of my son. [break][break]

The Mind

While I understand the project has been deemed a failure I still reserve my right and duty as his parent to protect him from any who wish him harm. As such this will be my final correspondence to the organization, not to say it matters. After all, The subject has already left to join the ranger academy with the blessings of both myself and all my colleagues at the center. My sixteen year old son is now free to live life as he pleases and with that complete we all at the Fortree center have chosen to resign.[break][break]

We thank you for the years of support and while our relationship did not end on the 'kindest' note even you, monsters as you may be, should know that without your help we would not have had the resources to raise the subject, my son, Venti Zabac. As such we recognize that you have played a quintessential role in his development as a person. If nothing else take pride in that.[break][break]
