Despite the events earlier this week, Adrien had managed to get up and on his feet again albeit not turning a few heads his way. His gait had stiffened up considerably as he tried not to move his torso too much and his head still felt heavy. Plus, a few would recognize him as the man who got hit by a goddamn cranidos. Crimson irides would only look down at the floor as he briskly walked through the doors of Veilstone's Gym.
The brat of a gymleader Maylene would bump into him soon enough. "Hi, I'm Maylene. The third gymleader. I don't kn--" Not this again. "Nice. Let's get going." He'd cut her off as well as he walked towards the challenger's box. The Pinkette would follow soon after, slightly offended at being snubbed off. First up, Meditite.
"Duskull! Shadow Sneak!" The man would toss out the requiem pokemon and immediately dictate an attack. The ghost type would immediately race forth and inflict a rather damaging attack. Being a super effective move and the more powerful pokemon of the two, the meditite would be thrown down to the earth behind it. Alas, it was not done just yet. Despite being at a disadvantage, the pokemon would retaliate with a confusion attack.
Hit and damage dealt though not enough to down to duskull. "Repeat..." With another well-timed shadow sneak attack, the meditite would be down and out for the count. "Good. Return," Adrien would indifferently call back the duskull as he equiped another pokemon. Twas time to test this next specimen out. "Tank!" He'd call out as Metang took the field against the machoke.
"Confusion!" The bulky pokemon would lose in a test of speed as the machoke would move before it and hit with a powerful brick break. Nevertheless, the confusion attack hit its mark and dealt some decent damage. "Again. Until it's down!" With another two confusion attacks, the machoke would hit the floor. A victory though not without consequences as the machoke was able to hit the steel type with yet another brick break before its defeat.
Adrien would beckon his pokenon towards him as he applied two potions. Just a little precautions as it were to face the lucario. "Magnet Rise..." Twas the first move asked of the Metang as it reentered the field, Adrien's eyes narrowing as the Lucario prepared a Bone Rush attack. Engulfing itself in a sheath of electricity, the metang would levitate off the ground and evade a severe attack.
"Confusion. Twice! Wreck it." Adrien would smirk as one confusion after another would land on the Lucario. The fighting type, now irritated, would attack with metal claw and attempt to finish it off with force palm. The metang would hit the floor, barely moving as it tried to get up. "No! You're not done yet. Get it!" The metang would slowly put surely respond as the lucario would pause, charging up after that force palm attack. "Com'onnn...." Adrien would grit his teeth as the lucario prepared a bone rush attack.
"NOW!"
Just before the bone rush attack would hit, Metang would pulse out a critical confusion attack, stopping the aura pokemon dead in its tracks. It hit, no doubt. And the lucario would soon slump over. Both trainers would watch as Metang soon followed after, the results however crystal clear.
"The challenger wins!" Adrien's flag would be raised and with a clap, Maylene would approach him and hand him over his badge. The silverette was exhausted, that matcha s close as any.
