"A... Hah" A low snicker as he shrugged his shoulders when the woman got drenched in the attack's aftermath. Couldn't help it. A heliolisk with surf was one way to counter that ground weakness. Plus, surprises!
With the heatmor down and solosis out, Adrien would continue with Heliolisk. "A solosis... Huh," A stray comment, it's context left unexplained. The lizard type would brace for impact at the rock shower rained upon him, covering it with muck and grime in the process. "Thunder. Then Parabolic charge!" He'd order. The Heliolisk would fray its frills and begin charging up energy, turning a stark yellow in the process.
And then the beam was released. A magnificent beam of yellow would be directed at the solosis. But whether it hit or not would remain uncertain. Even so, the heliolisk had nary a second to spare and would immediately follow up with parabolic charge, attempting to shock the pokemon and sap a little health from it in the process.
Special attacks was all heliolisk knew, although light screen wasn't going to stop it from getting as many hits on the blob as possible.
She ignores his quips and comments, instead focusing on the sudden storm clouds rolling in-- odd, for a bright, sunny day. Lena's attention is drawn to the electric lizard-- oh. "Move erratically!" she calls out, crossing her fingers as the thunder hits the ground, blocking her view of the battle field. An electric pulse moves on the ground-- that's not thunder. When the beam clears solosis is in all right condition, but it's clear that's been hit by something. Based off the healthier- looking lizard, Lena can only assume it was a different move. "Hidden power, again' she requests, watching as solosis goes over the same drill, throwing the earth at the electric type. The light screen can only soak up so much-- Lena can tell that the little psychic type is much less powerful than the opposing type.
Her hand rests on a different pokeball, ready to change out if this battle continues going nowhere.
"Shut up" she sighs, annoyed with the continued, unnecessary flirting. Too much time has passed to ask his, and frankly she doesn't care much.

The thunder missed, unsurprisingly so even though he was a bit hopeful. Parabolic charge on the other hand hit its mark, Heliolisk glowing a faded green as it recovered a little health. Alas, it wasn't long bbefore another dose of secret power hit and did adequate damage.
"Return," Adrien would abruptly returned the heliolisk, realizing that this battle was going a bit too slow now. So instead... "Que!" A sleeping larvesta would take the stage again. "Go on, Lena~" The spy would just blankly stare at his opponent as he waited for another hit or two to commence. It was the only way to wake up the pokemon anyway despite the rude awakening the bug type was to receive.

She tries not to show her relief as the man recalls the most annoying pokemon in the world. Finally. Something she can fight a little more. The sleeping larvesta almost feels like a trap... Lena eyes him suspiciously, looking between the man and his pokemon. "A-all right.. thunder." the order is hesitant, but the solosis follows through. Residual clouds gather back, lightning crackling. The thunder attacks go in succession of each other, striking down from the sky, right for the sleeping bug type.
And yet, Lena is still suspicious. "Watch out, just in case," she mumbles, still not completely believing that this is going to go her way so easily.

Thunder. He smiled. Powerful and perfect. While thunder was often deemed as a clumsy move, it wasn't going to miss a sleeping pokemon. Well, not unless that solosis was utterly incompetent. Two sheer yellow bolts would hit the pokemon and awaken it in a daze. "Welcome back, " He'd jest and point at the solosis, clearing up the larvae's confusion.
Adamant agitated eyes set themselves on the Solosis. "Flamethrower. Then leech life!" He'd command and the bug would immediately deploy a stream of flames at the solosis. Scuttling forward it would then propel a single sharp needle at the blob, hoping to suck the life out of it.
Even then, the larvesta was far from healthy, the damage from a perfect thunder evident on its singed body.
HIT BY THUNDER! LARVESTA - LVL 26 - 25% LARVESTA AWOKE! FLAMETHROWER + LEECH LIFE LENA RUDDY
Out of the thunder, into the flames. The heavy scorching of the flamethrower breaks the light screen that had previously been shielding the solosis. And, while Lena was busy thinking that was bad enough, a sharp needle pierces into the solosis, of so very close to its core. A hand covers her mouth in shock as the psychic type cries out in her head-- for a brief moment, Lena feels its agony. The first connection? Very possible. And at the very worst time.
She tries to hide the pain on her twisting face by turning her face away from the stranger, stretching her arms while her mouth is open in a silent scream. With a sigh [gasp], she turns herself back, obviously battered from something. "No more defense, just give it everything," she heaves, voice cracking more than she'd expect. Lena clears her throat, obviously embarrassed she let herself slip up again. Double the order, double the hidden power. Solosis musters the last of its energy in an attempt to hurl at least one more hidden power at the larvesta, though a second lies in wait.

"Are you...Alright?," Adrien offered some geuine concern when the woman began to act erratically. Not that she wasn't crazy from the start, but it really seemed that she was on the brink of tears. Even so, he wasn't about to give away a win for her sake. Not yet, anyway. The larvesta would roll and barely evaded the first attack. And just as it relaxed, a secobd wave would hit and toss it backward.
If anything, it was only the prior leech life attack that did the trick in keeping still standing. "Leech life, and then prepare a flamethrower!" He'd dictate as he eyed his larvsta. How it still managed to stand was truly astounding.
Another needle was sent flying at the blob and whether it missed or whether even another pokemon was sent out, Larvesta had a flamethrower readied.

And then it's over. Lena feels the scorching heat against her entire body as the psychic type projects itself onto her before falling into blissful sleep. The solosis falls to the ground with a firm plop. Lena takes the opportunity to catch her breath, dazed from the experience. "Um.. yeah," she sighs, rubbing a hand over her face, recalling the solosis. "Psychic types are just.." She doesn't bother finishing the sentence- she doesn't know how. "Sorry" she says quickly before loosing her Staravia who immediately enters the field in a double team, illusions of the pokemon hovering over the field. "Wing attack, Lancer." The bird and its copies all move toward the Larvesta at once in a dive bomb, wings tucked until they reach their presumed target.
Lena is still trying to figure out what happened on the sidelines; is that the pain that all of her pokemon go through with each battle? Was the solosis just sensitive? She definitely thinks twice about battling with it.. it may make a better companion than fighter. She gains a new perspective in this battle, one that will stick with her for a very, very long time.

There wasn't anything else Adrien could do apart from allow the wong attack to hit Larvesta in no condition to dodge the move. Tch, To see the larvesta cringe and be tossed about by a mere wing attack was a painful and insulting sight to witness. Adrien would just shake his head as he recalled the now fainted larvesta.
In its stead, Trapinch would take the spotlight. "Rock Slide!" The trapinch radiated a dim blue as it raised its front limbs and smashed them down hard onto the earth before it. A fray of rocks would erput and were hurled directly for the staravia.
As for the woman, well, she was eccentric to say at the least.

Once the larvesta is down Lena tries to convince herself it's smooth sailing-- she could not be more wrong. She's forced to remember that dreadful Heliolisk, and her shrinking options. The rock slide pummels Lancer the second he lands; the bird cries out, trying to flutter out of the rubble, eventually shaking himself out and hissing at the ground-trap pokemon. "Wing attack, like the wilds" she offers; it looks grim, regardless. Trapinch was a pokemon made for digging, after all. Lena already sees this outcome, yet she tries to remain hopeful. or naive.
Lancer takes off once he's composed himself, flying and swooping in circles in an attempt to throw the weak-eyed pokemon off his trail. Twice would he dive down in an attempt to batter the trap pokemon into submission.

When you're opponent had an advantage, raw power didn't always work. Twas time for some strategy. So while the first wing attack would hit the trap pokemon square in the face, the second attack would never hit its mark. "Dig." Spoken calmly and the even calmer pokemon would burrow itself into the earth, barely avoiding second blow.
The attack itself wasn't going to do much at the moment and Adrien had no plans out having it reappear anytime soon. Not yet anyway. Instead he'd apparently stall. "Sooo, Lena" With hands stuffed into his pockets, Adrien was at it again. "Is there any reward or consequence for winning/losing? Or did you just challenge me for the heck of it." He'd speak indifferently, a smug smile still pasted on his lips.

"Now! Bury it!" Having spent adequate time with the trapinch, Adrien's command was well-understood by the pokemon. Re-emerging from the ground on Lena's side, the pokemon would hurl a plethora of levitating stones at the flying type.
"Uh huh," A solemn acknowledgement as eyes fixed themselves on the staravia. Her answer didn't help clear out his suspicious. "So you're not a ranger?" A more direct approach, could be seen as small talk if anything.
USED ROCK SLIDE TRAPINCH - LVL 20 - 75% LENA RUDDY
"Protect!" The realization that her staravia doesn't have rely on sheer speed to protect itself hits her like a ton of bricks. The green barrier erects in front of the bird who holds staunch as the rock slide batters against it, eventually sending the boulders to the ground. "Finish up" she quips, hoping that the pokemon remembers why it was in the sky in the first place. It doesn't-- the protect has lowered the Staravia to a normal ground-level, leaving all of the leverage gained on fly behind. Lena frowns. "Wing attack again, then" she grunts, getting annoyed with the slow pace of battle.
A click of her pokeball and Ivysaur is on the field again. "Hope you don't mind," she flashes a toothy smile-- win or lose she was getting ansty, and wanted to stop having this conversation with him. "What? No. I'm not even dressed like a ranger. Why do you ask--" her eyes narrow, she's suspicious all over again. "Were you worried I was? Sleep powder." The second phrase being to the Ivysaur, Lena knows the grass-type won't last long at its health. Still, she can at least try to help out Lancer.
The rock slide failed thanks to that stunt which was quickly followed by a wing attack by the same bird type. The trap pokemon would lunge to its side in an attempt to dodge but nevertheless was struck by another wing attack. Off it's feet and dragged through the dirt, the trapinch sustained a little more damage than expected.
"Trapinch!" Adrien would call out, slight worry carried in his intonation. The ground type would slowly but surely get back on it's feet and gave an adamant cry out signalling that it was fine. Unfortunately by then, Lena had already pulled out another pokemon. "When did..." Eyes widened in confusion as the Ivysaur re-emerged. Two against one. This woman.
"Tch! Dig!" Underground was the only way out of escaping being put to sleep. Meanwhile, "Let's even it out! Helix!" Out came the heliolisk, ready as ever to take on both of them. "Parabolic charge on the bird!" The reptile raced forward as it frayed its frills, ready to discharge a powerful electric shock at staravia. Trapinch on the other hand would attempt to headbutt the Ivysaur on its underbelly.
"No..." A solemn response before his mischievous smile reappeared. "You just looked cute enough to pass for one," He winked. A good cover-up as any~
