'Sandgem, huh.'
Adrien would hiss the name to himself, bored eyes searching for something, anything, other than the long stretches of sand which went for as far as the eye could see. Then again, taking a hint from the name of the town, it became quite obvious that the place had absolutely nothing to offer.
Well not including the beach, that is.
Coming from a landlocked little town, Adrien always had a little fascination with the sea. It seemed endless and was the closest thing to infinite space he read so much about. And so, after a short break at the pokemon center Adrien would take a little stroll alongside the shores of the Sandgem beach, his helioptile by his side as it enjoyed the waters.
Seeing how warm his attire was, the man would hang his blazer on one arm, loosen his ascot and chose to walk barefoot. His electric type, Helix, on the other hand would merrily splish-splash in the warm waters.
Lost in thought as he dallied about the seaside, the silverette would be a bit careless with his pokemon only to look up when his restless lizard pokemon had splashed a decent amount of water on a passerby. 'Tch...' Making haste, the galactic member would walk towards the offended with a apologetic hand raised. "Uh, sorry about that! He's a bit...restless." He'd speak with a smile, eyes shifting sideways to the lizard for a moment.
The helioptile would immediately get the hint, it's ears flopping downward as if offering an apology of its own.
[attr="class","cobbody"]While coming back to retrieve his bag was unpleasant, Sandgem is not. A small town that bordered the ever-gentle waves of the ocean. It's something Jason has grown to appreciate, despite the slight inconvenience. In fact, he'd decided to stay for the night -- he reckons that it'd be good to spend a day to relax.
Kaede splashes in the water next to him, enthused at the return. Last time she'd gotten beat by that Riolu, but today it was nowhere to be seen. In contrast, Jason relegates himself to only ankle deep water, where he won't get cold and where he can keep a close eye on his pokemon.
Unfortunately, his day of relaxing comes to a sudden halt. Jason hears a sudden splash of water behind him, and before he has a chance to react his back is drenched cold. He whips around, water sprayed from his hair as he gets ready to fight.
The trainer of the pokemon comes up, with a blazer hanging off his arm and his tie - or something? - hanging loose. He makes an attempt to apologize, but Jason's too angry and prideful to let that run by him.
"You ruined this shirt, asshole. Control your pokemon before you get hit."

One edge of his lips twitched ever so slightly, an eyebrow cocking simultaneously as the stranger spoke. For a split second there Adrien couldn't quite process the redhead’s response. At worst he was expecting a bit of winning, mayhaps even to be lightly reprimanded. But was he expecting such a shocking retort?
Definitely not.
So instead of bowing his head or backing off sensibly Adrien would instead let out a deliberate, deemably insensitive, chuckle. The apologetic expression he held a few seconds ago had been flushed out and replaced by an impish smirk.
To say that he was triggered was an understatement.
“That's quite a mouth you've got there, Redhead. Maybe you need to cool down a bit” Running a hand through his hair the silverette would take one long stride backward, gaze firmly locked on the Umbreon’s trainer.
“Helix, go on. Have.Fun." He'd emphasis on the last two words, it's context completely lost to the helioptile. The innocent pokemon would just take it as approval to continue splashing about the waters, and in turn inadvertently attempted to drench the redhead in more water.
As for Adrien, he'd just spectate with a charming smile.
[attr="class","cobbody"]Jason sneers as the smile suddenly fades, replaced by a smarmy smirk and laugh. He'd known that this guy hadn't been genuine. With this length of his blazer hanging off his arm and the clothe untied from his neck, it just screamed asshole. He grits his teeth in anger, because it's entirely justified and this guy knows that.
He ducks under his arms to shield himself, but it's no use. He's getting drenched. Jason backs up, the water wading and splashing around him as he attempts to get to land. He reaches into his pocket and hurls another pokeball into the air. With a flash of white light, his Psyduck's materialized before him.
"Wash this guy's shitty attitude away, Psyduck."
Jason coughs, and luckily it's smart enough to understand what he says. It turns to the offending person, and with a slightly regretful quack it shoots a water gun in his direction. Blazer and all.
Were they both childish? Probably. Jason's been called that more times than he could count, especially by the other rangers, and if this guy joins in on it, than he's sure to be called a hypocrite. Any notion of politeness had been thrown out the window, the moment Jason felt the spray of cold water on his back.

The smile he wore remained as such only to lessen when the redhead called out his Psyduck and issued an attack. Adrien quickly raised a hand infront on him, bracing for impact as trying to evade the spray was impossible.
'Tch' He could only curse under his breath when the psyduck's attack drenched him from head to toe and did a grand job of completely soaking his blazer.
"Really, now?!?" Irritation was adequately present in his intonation as he raised his head, water dripping from silver threads down his face. He back pedaled a few more steps as he tried to squeeze the water out of his blazer. Maybe right now would be the perfect time to apologize and call it a joke, avoiding further conflict altogether. Maybe he co-
Hell no. His ego just didn't allow it.
Instead eyes refocused on the helioptile who was now more worried than enjoying himself. "Tail whip" Spoken calmly as a finger pointed to the sand right before the adversary's feet. "Let's dry him off!" Eager to 'help' out, the lizard pokemon would hop, skip and let loose a powerful tail whip on the sand. The loose sand would erupt upward and possibly coat the already wet trainer in a fine amount of sand.
[attr="class","cobbody"]Jason's glad to see the guy's smirk wiped right off, his posh accent stained with irritation. The guy's not the only one who has pokemon at his disposal. He snickers, grinning in satisfaction at the site. It may have been more mature to just leave or even stop, but Jason doesn't seek such glory.
But their debacle is far from over, and the enemy just keeps going. It sends sand flying with a powerful sweep of its tail, and the wetness makes it stick to his clothes and ruin it further. Jason coughs as the sand comes up in plumes, and he can feel it settle on his hair and clothes.
For everything that Jason's been training for -- how his ranger academy taught him the ways of customer service and calming an angry person -- he hasn't made much use of it. He had never really started, and he wouldn't now. He reaches into his pocket again, ignoring how the loose sand grinds against all the wrong places, and throws another pokeball.
The Joltik is small and unassuming, but it's a nice pokemon to have, especially when he's being spiteful. "Tie him up before he gets too out of control!" He counters with his own snappy line, however cheesy, and watches as the Joltik sends a SPIDER WEB right at the guy.
[attr="class","cobtags"]adrien arkwright✖ haha theyre going to fight legit
Post by adrien arkwright on Jun 4, 2016 9:29:16 GMT
Seeing how the redhead first responded and then retorted, the silverette did not expect anything less than a direct punch right for his face after that stunt he pulled. Hence, Adrien was on alert and prepared to brace himself should it come to that. 'Joltik? Tie?!'
Crimson irides widened at that statement and immediately Adrien brought this arm upon which the blazer rested as a form of defense against the approaching web. Taking a step to his right, Adrien would spin his arm counterclockwise and had the web entangle his suit and half his arm. He'd stare with disappointed eyes at what a mess his posh blazer had now become.
Eyes refocused on the Joltik's trainer, the mischief in his expression slowly but not very evidently turning into aggression. "Helix. Let's give him a wakeup call." He'd order and the helioptile would spring into action, releasing a minor, almost static-esque thunder shock at the redhead. Seeing as he was already drenched, the weakened thunder shock was only meant to have the hotshot's hair entirely frizzled up.
"Out of control, really? Says the guy who's pokemon directly attacked me." He'd scoff as he tried to tear off the webs encasing on arm. "Two can play at this game." The silverette readied himself should the punk have anything else up his sleeve
[attr="class","cobbody"]He retaliates with another shock -- a slight one, however he can still feel the jolt as the electricity flows through him. His hair stands up as he does so, and Jason tries to shake off the tingling in his limbs. He stares back in anger, taking a moment to really think.
It is at this point, with his clothes muddied and wet, with his hair frizzed and out of control, that Jason really evaluates his character. He may be ranger, yes, but that doesn't exactly mean that he's a good person. What does a good person do in this situation? They would walk away and apologize. Heck, they could even shake hands and move on as if nothing happened.
"Says the guy who fought back!" Instead, Jason runs forward, throwing his hands forward and using his momentum to attempt to tackle him into the ground. He's probably going to get charged for assault and get arrested, but he doesn't care at the moment.
He is probably the farthest from a good person right now.

And he finally fused.
Just moments after the spark hit, the redhead would come charging at Adrien's, arms outstretched and ready to tackle him. "Of course I'd fight back, idiot" He'd retort as he readied a fist to strike the man square in the face.
If only he hadn't tripped.
The punch missed the smug trainer's face and instinctively, to balance himself, Adrien would bring his hands to grip onto the man's shoulders. Alas, the lack of balance would indeed have him fall back and hit the sand.
Except...not the way either expected or intended.
Lip locked against lip. in the beach. in-front of a few pectators. For a moment, Adrien's couldn't think straight, the shock of kissing another man all to much to comprehend. "MMM?!?!" Shocked and unable to talk, Adrien would quickly bring a hand to try to shove the trainer back and break the lip-lock, the fact that he was pinned down completely making it a bit too difficult to do so.
For those few around, this just looked like a simple lover's quarrel which was escalating into something more.
[attr="class","cobbody"]Jason flings himself at the stranger, and he's expecting at least a punch or two to land on his face, but fortunately, it misses. His foe, however, manages to clutch to his shoulders as they both fall to the ground, sand flying up between them.
It wouldn't have been a problem if they hadn't kissed.
And they stay in that position for a few split seconds -- which felt like ten or twenty minutes to Jason, and he's shoved out of the way, too shocked to even be angry anymore. It's a couple seconds before the reality of the situation catches up in his mind, and he sputters, coughing and wiping his mouth.
He's kissed a few girls before surely -- but this is an entirely new feeling he's not sure how to react to. And considering that he just kissed someone he was just about to fight, makes it worse. Someone in the distance whistles, and his face turns a brilliant shade of red. He's not even angry anymore, just confused and embarrassed. Jason closes his eyes, pinches his nose and counts to ten, because he can't possibly lose any more of his dignity at this point.
"You know, if you wanted to kiss me before the fight, you should've asked."

Even after the redhead got off him, the silverette remained flat on the sand for another second or two as reality slowly set in. When and after it did set in, he'd sit up just in time to catch the trainer make another remark.
"What?!" He'd sneer in disbelief as he fixed his gaze upon the redhead and then immediately looked the other way. The awkwardness of what happened a few seconds ago made it all too difficult for him to look the trainer in the eye.
"You're the one who kisse-ugh!" There was no point in arguing any further. The deed had been done. He'd wipe off the remnants of the kiss with his shoulder, his face turning a slight hue of red as he recalled the event - he had kissed a man . on the beach . in front of an audience.
Right now, all he wanted to do was get out of Sandgem without facing anyone; not the pedestrians, not even his helioptile and definitely not the redhead he just locked lips with. 'What was that anyway?' It wasn't very different from kissing a woman, but even so, sent a chill down his spine every time he recollected the memory.
Adrien let a few moments pass before breaking the silence again. "And what're you waiting for? Go! I'm not going to kiss you back." He'd genuinely remark, his silver-tongue all tied up and his smug smile now replaced by a twisted frown.
Even so, he wasn't going to flee just yet. His pride hadn't allowed that even now.
"You kissed me." Jason emphasizes, because he was entirely expecting a fight. Right now they're supposed to be littered with bruises, but instead they're sitting awkwardly on the beach, the feeling of a kiss lingering on their lips. It'd be romantic if they weren't just fighting. And well, he's assuming Adrien isn't gay.
Jason isn't either, but he would say that he's at least more comfortable with his masculinity than the other at least. The kiss didn't particularly feel bad, but Jason doesn't seek such affection, especially from this guy. He shrugs and does what he would in any situation -- joking and teasing.
"I'm waiting for that other kiss. And name." He snickers, although he's entirely bluffing. It's strangely satisfying to see him flustered after everything, with mud on his clothes and his hair practically standing on end. It's both embarrassing and comical, and Jason can't help but enjoy the moment, however embarrassing it may be.
"...Lighten up a bit. Don't you think this is a little funny?"
Post by adrien arkwright on Jun 9, 2016 9:46:50 GMT
"Sure I did." The silverette would snap backed his voice dripping with sarcasm. While he wanted to oppose him again, there was honestly no hope on arguing back and forth seeing as this could go on forever.
Taking a gander at himself, the silverette would sigh as he inspected the damage done. His clothes were utterly ruined. Another day in the Sangdem Inn then. It didn't help that a cool wind was blowing and the man could feel a cold coming along.
For the longest time, he wouldn't respond as the redhead made light of it. He was still too irritated to converse properly. "Haah..." Then almost suddenly a lengthy sigh escaped his lips as he brought both hands to dig into the sand behind him and support his frame.
"You'd like that, wouldn't you?"
He'd scoff as he looked out at the horizon, a small smirk reappearing on his lips. It was hard to stay weirded out for long with such beautiful weather. Maybe he did take it a bit harshly. "Alex." A name given out, one of the many aliases he was assigned.
Eyes shifted to the male besides him. "Yeah, maybe it's a little amusing. And you are?"
He supposes that there's no salvaging his clothes from today -- with electrocution, water, and sand stains combined. Nurse Joy will have a riot when he comes to the Pokemon Center. Jason of course, being prepared as he is, always has spares in his room. But he's not rich. Like this guy, with his tailored black suit and all.
Jason may feel a little guilty for ruining such expensive clothing, but Alex brought it upon himself, with that uncontrollable pokemon of his. Jason returns his own. Except for Kaede, his faithful Umbreon that'd stayed out of this for the entire length of the mini-fight. He pets her as she climbs into his lap and smiles.
It's quiet for the longest time, Jason waiting for a reaction while Alex thinks about his. Eventually the other leans back and scoffs. Their anger evaporates, although a sense of irritation still lingers.
It's somewhat pleasant, for once.
"Can't say I enjoyed it, but can't say I hated it either."
He shrugs, admitting the truth with a nonchalant smile. It hadn't felt particularly different from kissing a girl, but it's still a little weird. It'll make for a good story, at least.
"Jason."
He suddenly shifts, getting to his feet and brushing off what sand he could. Kaede lays herself on his shoulders, a safe haven compared to the rest of his person. "Well it that was fun, but I gotta go, and let's agree never to speak of this again."
He grins, looking down his nose at Alex. If there's anything that Jason always does, it's making a good exit. He turns, flicking one hand in a form of a wave and walks away.
