Sirius' mind is always racing and thinking and processing information and drawing diagrams of anything and everything she thinks of and sees. She's a genius in the most logical of ways and people explained to themselves it was the fate of two professors' daughter.[break][break] THE FAMILYProfessors Yue and Apollo were famous among medical researchers. They created new medicines, curing what could not be cured, and spent their days and nights camping inside ancient caves, swimming to the darkness of cold waters, all to collect samples from nature. Their work schedules, often months of staying at their lab, forced the Descartes family to have little memories together. But the ones they shared were the ones they all held dear. Reading math and medicine books-on rare nights, with her parents-were part of Sirius' bed time routine and she developed a love for logic-though grew distant from emotions. Everything she learned, she learned from her parents.[break][break] THE BIRTHSirius Selenity Descartes was born with a genetic disease that paralyzed her legs from a young age. The disease would overtake her entire body and eventually stop her lungs and heart and brain. Sirius didn't understand why she had to be born this way. It wasn't fair. Her parents explained she was the reason they worked so hard-she was their star and she guided them and allowed them to have a goal, a dream, of finding a cure for her. She was their hope and aspiration. Sirius made herself believe them. If she didn't, the only thing left was to pity herself.[break][break] THE JOURNALYue and Apollo's names were printed on the missing persons list after disappearing for six months with no contact to anyone. Their fellow doctors and professors hadn't heard a word from them. Not even Sirius knew where they were. Sirius was taken in by Professor Artemis, a close friend of the family, and for the next six years she studied her parents' notes and recited their work like prayer. Professor Artemis was kind and Sirius grew to love him like family. But she wasn't satisfied with her missing parents. Surely their lab had clues to their whereabouts. After finding a hidden safe deep within, she cracked it open and found their journal. It detailed everything about their trips to where they were and who they spoke with and what they found. Surely the journal would lead her to her parents![break][break] THE FEARSirius knew she'd need permission to access areas mentioned in the journal so she joined the Rangers. However selfish her reasons, she was good at what she did though didn't care at all about the war. If it meant keeping her license, she'd do it. Professor Artemis did not agree to Sirius leaving to finding her parents but knew she wouldn't change her mind. She wasn't the kind who took decisions lightly. But she was afraid as well. She was starting a new chapter in her life. How could she not be afraid? But, more than anything, she had to believe her parents were waiting for her. Just like she had been their star, they were her moon and sun. She needed them. However afraid she was, she moved forward.[break][break] THE TRAGEDYThough her parents created a pill to help her disease slow down, that was all it did. Slow it down. Without the cure, Sirius will eventually die. Even now she feels her time drawing near. She must take her pills every six hours otherwise her body goes numb and all sorts of things start breaking down. Her dilemma? Use her remaining time to find her parents-or find a cure. [break][break] THE MOONThe journal often mentions the moon so Sirius is obsessed with going there, believing her parents are waiting there for her at a space station on the moon.[break][break] [PTab=ROLEPLAYER]
