Finally, it was time for North to begin her gym journey. Oreburgh gym was the first one she had to flatten in hope to become champion.
Entering the gym she shouted to the top of her lungs. "IM HERE TO CHALLENGE YOU ROARK!" One could mistake her for a troublemaker if it was not for the large smile on her face.
The poor gym leader going around his daily duties had to clear his ears after the loud entrance of North.
The guy was ready and waiting for a battle. It hadnt been a while since he was last challenged so the stadium was already prepared for battle.
"Lets get this show on the road shall we?" he stated sending out his geodude.
"Lets do this Saph'" Sending her new bagon Saphira, it was time for North to debut her new pokemon.
"Ready?" North asked Roark as she was eager to get her first badge.
In a response to her question he instructed his geodude to use Stealth Rock.
"Lets go Saphira, start it off with flamethrower!" as the little dragon hopeful released a torrent of spewing flames from her mouth straight at Roarks geodude. It was not very effective but it was enough to do some damage to the rock pokemon.
As Roark commanded his geodude to also attack, his geodude started throwing rocks at Saphira, who could not move as fast as she hoped in attempting to dodge the move. Although she dodged some of the oncoming rocks quite a few hit their target sending her rolling back wards towards North.
"Okay Saph' lets take this pokemon out."
Roark's face could only show the annoyance of North's comment to her pokemon as she was telling her pokemon she could beat him. Commanding his pokemon to use Rock Throw once again.
Seeing this North had an idea that she could use, via Saphira's rock head ability.
"Use Double Edge through those rocks!" As she registered what trainer told her, she could only run head down with a hope to break through the rocks. This surprised Saphira very much as she broke through the rocks with ease as she basically headbutted through the rocks.
"When you get to the geodude use Dragon Claw"
As she saw this she got alot more confidence as she bulldozed through the attack recieving a few grazes every now again, but she was right infront of the geodude now, attacking with a Dragon Claw just as her trainer just instructed her.
Seeing the Geodude faint from her attack she praised herself and was extremely happy, as she ran straight back to North and jumped onto her. Even North was quite proud of her little cutie pie.
Roark sent out his onix and seeing this North told Saphira to sit this one out as now she wanted to take it slow with her not pushing her too hard.
"okay Temp' roar." Releasing her starter pokemon North let loose her most prized possession her Garchomp.
Roaring upon entry Tempest eye'd up the onix and the trainer behind him, as Roark could be seen gulping slightly scared of North's Garchomp.
"Rock Throw!" Roark managed to get out to his onix. As the rock snake pokemon complied with its trainers instructions Tempest stood there taking the attacks to the face, effectively insulting Roark and his pokemon.
"Earthquake." With the releasing of Tempest, North's entire demeanour changed. Saphira now upon the top of North's head didnt notice it as she was too engrossed in watching Tempest. It was the first time she had ever seen him, but was told stories about him through her other pokemon.
By this time, the stealth rocks had kicked in, all of them honing onto Tempest who just did nothing once more. Causing dust to rise from the floor, North took this opportunity to attack once more in the confusion.
"Metal Claw".
In a blur, Tempest was above the onix, with its claw and fin glowing white signalling the move in motion. Slamming his fin right on the crown of onix's head, the rock snake pokemon collasped and fainted.
Roaring in Victory Tempest was signifying his dominance once more, and little Saphira, watched from afar on North's head.
Sending out his cranidos, Roark was fairly scared now. Cranidos assessed the situation and saw the large garchomp looking down at him. The poor pokemon knew what his fate was, but that did not stop him from putting up a brave front.
"You know what to do." North did not even instuct Tempest, but rather left it to his own devices as he once again shaked the earth using earthquake, causing the once revived fossil pokemon to faint.
Having the match ending, Norths personality came back all happy and smiles. "Thanks for the battle!"
Roark was astounded from the change in personalities but didn't question it as Tempest was still out staring him down.
