when you lie i cover it up when you hide i cover it up when you cry i cover it up
| After the turnout in her hometown, Scarlette had decided to stretch her legs a little, get some more experience under her belt, and see someplace new. She'd been cooped up in Sunyshore city so long that any trip away from there was strange and kind of upsetting to her. Of course, she'd never admit that. Scarlette wasn't a trainer in the sense of the word. She never had been a huge fan of travelling long distances. She'd been a pirate, sure. But they always returned.
But here she was, wandering Soleceon to try out her new legs. It hadn't really been that hard, and it was kind of exhilarating if she was going to be honest. She'd heard ominous stories from the townsfolk about the lost tower. Of course, they'd been so invested in these stories that they hadn't noticed whatever she had been pickpocketing. Her interest had been piqued though. Capturing some kind of a ghost type Pokemon would be incredible for her team.
Keeping in mind that she would, eventually, need to battle some gyms if she was ever going to gain any kind of respect in Galactic, she figured she could use some extra manpower to help her reach those goals. Did that mean she was a trainer? That was the weirdest thought she'd had all day.
Romeo the Murkrow had been sitting on her shoulder for a while now, weighing on Scarlette's tiny shoulder. For the better part of an hour they'd been wandering rather aimlessly around the lost tower, looking at inscriptions on some tombstones. Most of them were pretty depressing, speaking wonders about the person and how much they'd done for their family or community. Although she showed no emotion, it was kind of sad for her to think about, too.
"Romeo, get off of me. You must be stealing food or something because you're starting to get fat. Go do something useful and find something." Scarlette shook the dark feathered beast off her shoulder, which annoyed the bird, whom quickly took off into the mist. "Oh, don't be dramatic about it!" Scarlette scoffed, irritated.
The pair had climbed several steps by now to reach the uppermost levels of the tower. It had grown quite spooky up here, which both excited and worried Scarlette. What would they find?

| It didn't take long for a Pokemon to come out of the shadows. Either Murkrow has exceptional eyesight, or their new arrival was just curious, and approached at the sound of the two bickering. Either way, it floated nearby a little timidly. Romeo eyed the Pumpkaboo a little less than nicely, hungry and malicious intent glinting in his eyes. Scarlette tilted her head at the small ghost type. It wasn't.. quite what she had expected to find. "It's.. cute I guess? Romeo, why don't you attack with feint attack? I think we'll catch it."
Murkrow circled the Pumpkaboo, to which it responded with fright, cowering as it hovered in place. It was easy for Romeo to land his attack, his vicious talons terrorizing the ghost type with terrible dark energy. It seemed to have really taken a blow, it's skin where it had been attack growing puffy and sore. In its fright, the tiny Pumpkin reacted with an astonish that spooked even Romeo a bit. He beat his wings to fly backwards to try and avoid any other attack, but none came.
Scarlette, puzzled as to why it wasn't really attacking, halted Romeo's onslaught. Frustrated, he landed on the floor of the tower, scraping his claws into the wood and shaking his tail feathers. The Pumpkaboo seemed extremely on edge, and almost sad. Despite how much of a hardass Scarlette was, even she felt a little bad for it. "What's this things deal?" Taking a step forwards, the creak of the floorboards making her heart quicken just slightly, she peered down at the trembling Pokemon. It was now looking over it's shoulder ominously, making scared little cooing noises.
Murkrow also seemed a little rattled, flying up to perch on Scarlette's shoulder, pulling at her red locks of hair. Was there perhaps something else in the tower with them? Was it not really Romeo the Pumpkaboo was scared of? Scarlette made the decision to capture the scared little Pokemon, out of some weird feeling of kindness. "You can come with us, you cowardly little thing. Let's figure out what it is you're afraid of." She felt kind of excited, or maybe that was just the anxious butterflies giving her some false emotion.
With a click, the Pumpkaboo was captured without much struggle. Romeo cawed into the darkness of the tower, as if in warning. There were lights on along the hallways, but they weren't all that bright. It wouldn't be hard for anything spooky to sneak up on her.
CAPTURED PUMPKABOO, CONTINUING ON
