"Calm down, Sir" The silverette calmly requested of the man the stood before him, his courtesy utterly misleading as his intention and purpose of this visit to the factory were all but harmless. Twas a simple task; escort a certain Mr. Evans of the Fuego Ironworks back to the one of the nearby bases. Simple questioning really, although he wasn't authorized to do the interrogation himself. Not yet.
And so here he was, trying his hardest not to resort to more 'persuasive' means to have the man comply. 'Get out! I'm not going anywhere with you!' The bespectacled male would gesture towards the massive doors of the factory. 'Haaah." An exasperated sigh escaped Adrien's lips, his arm reaching back to his belt to retrieve a pokeball. His lips pulled taut into a wry smile as the pokeball expanded.
"Last chance. Let's not make this difficult."

“Hey!” A voice echoed from the back of the warehouse.
A silhouette stood in one of the accesses to the outside, less than fifty feet away. Light from the outdoors made it hard to make him out, but his message was unclear in the same manner. It had no intention behind it other than to call upon the two men passing back and forward. A second piece added the icing to the cake.
“Beat it.”
This was something you said to a child, but it wasn't like Jack could make out the two this far back. Troublemakers always found their way into this place, and this ranger made it apart of his habit to scare them off. He didn't expect any trouble, but he did know little about the exchange going on in front. He'd remain in the door way, positioning his back against it. A response from either of the two could confirm his next action.

"Hey!"
Ears perked up at the third voice, albeit he didn't turn to its source just yet. Instead his head turn slightly over his shoulder, pausing as such until the 'intruder' spoke again at which point his lips curled downward for a mere moment. Turning his whole frame to the silhouette, Adrien would roll his eyes ever so nonchalantly.
"Why?" Asked with the most casual of tones, unfazed that he was caught in the act. He didn't know what did the third wheel caught wind of, but he wouldn't let give up his identity just yet.
'Yes, yes. You there! This man won't leave me alone!' The bespectacled little man would speak up, an arm outstretched and pointing at the silverette.
"Haah, Mr. Evans. You need to rethink this." Adrien would just side-eye the man before reverting his focus on the stranger. Being vague was key here. "We're discussing business here, child. I suggest you don't interfere." The last bit added intentionally if only to spite the stranger.
Not a single word of response was returned as his own actions spoke for him. Long limbs made a rhythm across the concrete floor as the door slammed shut upon release. Two hands worked together to unfasten the tie around his throat as a blue-hued passenger climbed aboard his shoulder. Cold and stoic. It made the scene something right out of an action movie. Right at the part where the bad guy gets his ass kicked, or so the viewer believes.
“What'd you say to me?” Jack's voice spoke calmly as his position rested only a few feet away.
That was the joke, really. This had little to do with Jack, and he knew that, but this was something too easy to work off of. Twenty-one surely wasn't old by any calculator, but being called a child put some youth back in his veins. However, this was all beside the point of the matter. Obviously someone was in danger, and a troublemaker decided to make ways with his mouth. An ass-kickin' appeared to be the only solution and Jack wasn't going to turn down a fight.

The silverette instinctively closed an eye as the metal door was slammed shut, the impact causing a loud 'clang' to resonate throughout the room. Instigating the enemy seemed to have worked well. Maybe a bit toowell, If his guess was right, it seemed the man that stood before him was a ranger. 'Troublesome.' Oh, but he wasn't going to let the raven-haired male know that.
"Yes, yes. Loosen your tie and call out your toad. Be the hero." He smiled attempting to instigate the ranger again. While the pokeball was gripped tightly in hand, Adrien had no intentions of getting into a Pokemon battle just yet. Or at all for that matter. "Like I said, we're just talking business. Your kind wouldn't understand" He'd speak nonchalantly with a slight condescending undertone. Even though the situation looked bad, Adrien wasn't about to panic or give in. No, instead he'd try to worsen the situation if possible.
As for that loud Mr. Evans that stood besides him, 'Ugh! Finally. Get him out of here. That damned TV station is always sending its agents here. They're always getting in the way!' He'd push up his specs and move to the other side of the room where his desk was at, seeing Jack's threat as nothing more than method to have the apparent 'TV station agent' out of the factory. The galactic member's smile just broadened, posing as a Jubilife city agent had apparently paid off.
"See...? I'm just having a sliiiightly hard time in having Mr. Evan come along with me to TV station in Jubilife." He'd run his hand through his hair as he began to slowly walk away from the man. "So! If you don't mind, can you please just leave the room and close the door on your way out? Thank you~" An exasperated sigh would escape his lips.
The ranger's next move would determine whether he'd indeed need to get aggressive or not.
It was a fine tactic; acting clueless to any trouble, while remaining open to any questions or appeals. Something innocent was presented, but Jack had a clever way of knowing this wasn't this case. Unfortunately for his adversary, Floaroma was this ranger's hometown. Tourists always carried a slight stench to their exterior. There was nothing regular about being kind to any type troublemaker, granted his reasoning could be justified by some cooked up lie.
“Well don't mind me then.” Jack's words lacked any sort of offer.
Yellow hues on the shoulder shifted with a frown. Dart didn't appreciate that guy either, probably more so than Jack. Something wasn't right, but there wasn't exactly enough time to pick out what. Pushing against the current would scare the guy off or pressure him enough to reveal his intentions. Two could play at this game of wits.
“I'll make sure everything operates smoothly between your exchange.” Jack shifted his fingers into his pocket out of habit.
This opponent could sigh all he wanted, but it would be his choice to decide where this meeting went next.

"Stubborn" A single word escaped his lips indifferently, almost absentmindedly, when the raven-haired ranger offered to over see their exchange. He had no qualms in expressing his disdain with the ranger's presence in the room. But then again, perhaps they could all benefit from this exchange.
"Well, if you're so suspicious whichyou obviously are..." He'd stress on certain words as he casually approached the ranger.
Just as they were a few feet apart, the silverette would extend an arm and gesture towards the Fuego manager who was busy at work at his desk. "Why don't you convince him to come to Jubilife with me? Make life easier for all of us~" Turning his head to the man, he'd smile ever so casually.
Jack let the criticism pass through. Transparent wouldn't be the proper term, but he was getting good at biting his tongue. Kicking ass was something he took pleasure in, but a rangers had a code of ethics. Although he'd never be the one to truly follow them down to the nail, in settings like this, it was best to sharpen his skills.
“What makes you think I'm a ranger?” He'd shoot back with a single moment of weakness.
Surely the guy didn't know, but it was a good guess. Word of mouth passed like the petals do in Floaroma Town, but only few and between knew of his change. Jack's thoughts couldn't waste any further in this area as time would refuse a pause to anyone. It was like two detectives bouncing off of each other. Different truths and ideals. The two just happened to be on different sides. As much as Jack would like to finish it with a couple of blows, a chess battle of egos encouraged something more from him.
“Why don't you tell me why it's so important for him to go with you?” Jack could badger right back with the questioning. This could be an endless battle.

“What makes you think I'm a ranger?”
Shots fired in the dark was all the silverette was working on. Pride demanded that Adrien work with whatever he had, whether or not it hit a target. And so, the immediate response to his question was an eye-roll as if the answer to his question was an obvious one.
"A good Samaritan jumping in to the rescue would've backed out when I introduced myself as a TV station agent. You on the other hand... " His glare shifted from the raven-haired male to his partner pokemon perched on his shoulder. "...speak with authority. So either you're a ranger, or some hotshot trainer looking to butt in. I suggest you either help me or leave respectively" He'd flick the front of his hair back, tousling it ever so casually with nary a care given that he was caught in the act.
"As for why? For questioning, of course. My superiors want to interview the man; a few questions concerning his research~!" He spoke with pride. It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the complete truth either. Being vague was key again.
"But if Mr. Hot shot wants, they're always other ways to settle this..." He'd mumble under his breath, the words nearly inaudible.
A response followed the order of a pause, a grin and an ever so slight chuckle. This guy was a real piece of work. Maybe he did come on a little strong. Or maybe this guy was messing with him. A battle of wits didn't require much work out of the two, but someone was hitting close to home. For the moment, Jack had no intention for causing a fight. Not yet, at least.
“I'm not hauling this guy around if he doesn't want to go.” Jack's clear statement left no loopholes, but also ignored the tidbits of conversation from before. Jack wasn't keen on those in the Fuego Ironworks. His grandfather wasn't a huge fan, so neither was he. Even before his title, his goal was to protect others, and the city he held dear. Not even a small punk could cause a ruckus here. “So if you could settle this here...” Jack's words trailed off into an imaginary meaning. It left his worthy opponent something to answer for. To keep the conversation going as long as it had to. If a fight had to start, so be it. Jack lived for it. If he could scare this guy off, it would be easy for everyone.

"Uhuh.." The crimson-eyed man would unenthusiastically acknowledge the hotshot's response, 'negotiating' not going as well as he hoped. "Fine" A curt response as he stepped back and raised the pokeball he was holding on to during this whole conversation. "We'll settle it through pokemon, mm?" With a click of the button, the pokeball wouls expand and snap open, a larvesta appearing right besides him.
Probably not the best match up, but he wasn't bothered. "A two vs two sound good?" He'd ask as he reached for his belt. A pokemon battle was alright with him, but if the ranger was looking for an actual fistfight then well...
Well that was easy. A lot faster than expected, even. Jack met the conclusion he asked for sooner than he thought, but this ending was more of a beginning. He could of lived with scaring the guy off, but if this is what it came down to, he wasn't against it either. A two on two? Sounded fair.
“Fair enough.” Jack summoned his amphibian ally into the battle field. This was common to them by now, or at least to an extent. A single hop had Dart placed in front of his opponent, but with feet in between. A fire against a water was definitely not in his favor, but he did ask for it. “Go ahead and take the first move.” Jack's call almost acted like an order to his pokemon. With back legs pushed inward, a single right arm stretched back to the bubbles on his backside. Although the water-type did not attack, he readied himself for battle rather quickly. Even if this fire-type had the disadvantage here, you could never be too ready.

Retrieving the second pokeball, Adrien would just hold onto its collapsed form, only smiling when he was offered the first move. "String shot" He'd quitely order and the larvesta would immediately respond as it spat a string of web out at the froakie. There was adequate confidence in the silverette's voice even though he was at an absolute disadvantage against a water type.
With a single switch of Pokeballs he could averted this disastrous matching but pride and an attempt to dominate clouded his judgment. Whatever, he wasn't going to give up just cause of a bad match up.
LARVESTA LEVEL 16 FLAME BODY EMBER - STING SHOT - LEECH LIFE
“Quick, use Dig!” Jack's order gave little relation to a 'free-hit'. However, he did only agree to allow the Larvesta to move first. String shot wasn't much of an attack damage-wise, but being slowed by silly string wasn't exactly enjoyable for trainer or pokemon. If they could stick it through, Protean could give them a real advantage here, and Dart's vast movepool could be the determining factor.
Following the command itself, the frog leaped through the mess of string and into a self-made hole carved in the warehouse's concrete. Whether it was pressurized water, or the rubbery paws themselves, the cut was clean from the surface to the edges. The bug would be at a loss for a proper attack upon his turn, but the frog also had to wait for his time to shine.

Eyes narrowed and locked onto the burrow created in the earth, the silverette coming to realize the gravity of the situation. "Tch..." And then, for the first time the smile wore off, his brow knitted and he inadvertently brought a hand to cup his chin with other arm across his torso. As much as he disliked it, it seemed that the larvesta was expendable this one time.
Eyes closed for a mere moment. "Leech life when he resurfaces..." Twas a murmur more than an actual command, the firebug now at slight unease as it's trainer's usual demeanour sank. It would vigilantly keep an eye on the surface, ready to strike the frog whenever it were to resurface.
