give it up
IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
Huh. There were quite a few water references when first entering the Pastoria gym. Honestly Adrian did not forsee herself doing many more gym battles, especially after her sudden promotion, however there was a need to train her pokemon... and thoroughly at that. Since she was passing by Pastoria on business anyway, she figured she might as well take the time to challenge the gym while she was at it. Crasher Wake was certainly a character and the ginger couldn't help but shake her head in disappointment.
"Yeah whatever, let's just get this over with." There was not much doubt in her mind her pokemon could take on the gym easily enough using brute force alone.
The water type gym leader laughed off Adrian's words before sending out the first pokemon. To her surprise, the first pokemon actually looked rather formidable, the Gyarados roaring as it entered the body of water that was the field. The ranger on the other hand sent out her pokemon and the slender figure of Absol gracefully appeared on one of the several platforms floating at the surface. The dark type distributed his weight with relative ease as his red eyes honed in on his opponent as he exerted pressure. "Let's make this quick Absol. We have to go back soon." There was an affirmative grunt from the Absol but neither of the made effort to shift their attention away from their opponents. As the battle was called to begin, Absol moved first as he slammed his front paws onto the platform. Rather than stone pillar emerging from the ground, several stone shards raised up and encircled the dark type as if in orbit. These shards would then shoot directly at the water type snake who recoiled into the water harshly. A bit too harshly. As it fell the water type unleashed a dragon rage towards Absol which the dark type stood his ground from. It had stung but not too much. Shard continued to encirle the dark type so as the Gyarados reemerged from the water, the bombardment would not end until it had collapsed from exhaustion.
Another laugh from Crasher Wake later resulted in the Gyarados being switched out for Quagsire. The strange derpy looking pokemon remind the woman of Adrien's stupid face which resulted in a groan of annoyance. Regardless when the battle began, Absol took a different approach and began with shooting Psycho Cuts at the part ground type. In response a large amount of mud began spewing everywhere on the field. It marred Absol's pristine white fur to which he did not appear concerned about but Adrian wondered the point of doing such a move. Nevertheless the Quagsire was hit by Psycho Cut and without giving it any chance to recover, Absol ruthlessly leaped forward onto the same platform and used play rough to knock it out. Again brute force.
Here might have been where Crasher Wake might have began giving some concern to the situation, however he was still laughing cheerfully. Adrian did not share this sentiment. Absol was being undisputed in battle and it was intriguing to see how far the dark type goes. The final pokemon for the gym was then sent out and was identified as Floatzel. It was certainly not as intimidating as the Gyarados from earlier and momentarily the woman questioned whether this was a mistake or if he had given up. Once again the same tactics were used by Absol ruthlessly as a Psycho Cut was formed and sent to the Floatzel. The Floatzel countered this with a swift attack which had also homed in and hit Absol as well who had attempted to rush behind the floatzel with Sucker Punch. The attack hit but not without being hit by swift. Not taking too well from being attack from behind, the floatzel turned around and with icy jaws tried an ice fang attack. The ice fang was evaded with some effort as Absol once again played rough with his opponent. The floatzel tried to attack back in the meantime however Absol won out in the end.
It was to no surprise of the ranger as she sighed at the sight. It looked as if the training was paying off as Absol returned to her side. "Badge. Now."
