major news alert!
witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
IT'S THE SAME OLD STORY BUT YOU NEVER GET IT RIGHT
After hours were always the best in the eyes of the twenty one year old ranger. Indeed the woman relished in her time off duty, especially times where she did not have a shift the following day. Today was one such night where she found herself in the comfort of a rather quaint and quiet bar. It was a lucky find for her considering she had never been to this town before today. Clubs were an option but Adrian disliked going to clubs due to how noisy they were and the tendency of getting hit on there. People at clubs had no shame. At a bar she could enjoy a nice refreshing atmosphere while drinking to her hearts content.
Since it happened to be night time at the time her gym challenge had ended, on top of the fact that the gym leader herself did not seem obnoxious, she invited the current leader of the Veilstone gym to drink with her. This was a rare occasion in and of itself. Adrian usually drank alone so inviting someone else was like a miniature honor - except not really. The invitation was left open as the woman told the gym leader where to find her if they were interested. After dropping off her pokemon at the pokemon center to recover for the night, here she was slouching on the bar table waiting for her drink to come through. There weren't many other people around which was pleasant and now it was a waiting game.
It is late evening when she shows at the bar, thankfully uncrowded. Cass does not allow for drinks very often, but today she reckons that she'd make an exception. Most of the trainers that happen to pass by her gym are too obnoxious for their own good. Battling Adrian had been a refreshing experience, even and to the point.
Yet it came as a surprise when she invited Cass to the bar, and she'd left her with a time and place. For hours she'd mulled over her option, ultimately caving into such a prime opportunity to enjoy the presence of someone else without being irritated. She pushes the glass door open, breezing past the rows of people and beelining straight for Adrian.
"Hello." She says, her voice pleasant. She slides into the seat across from Adrian, picking up the menu with delicate fingers, and scans each drink. Cass may not be a stranger to alcohol, but she can't say that she goes out often. Such inexperience with alcohol has made her indecisive.
He doesn't know his way around Veilstone, it's late in the evening and despite not rushed to be anywhere the ranger, could have used a little direction, at least on how to get to the pokemon center. It's in his meandering that he catches a glimpse of a familiar face walking into a bar, from what he remembered the woman had been kind, and helpful during the aftermath of the Floroama attack in fact he'd been meaning to thank the woman for her help, and happening upon a friend in the big city was rare coincidences like this should be celebrated, or so he believed and so with all this in mind he finds himself jogging into the bar, he may not have been a drinker but the setting was familiar. He'd DJ'd for a number of bars in the past and while this one wasn't much for live music he picked up the vibe fairly quickly.
He spots the girl fairly quickly wasting no time walking up it's only when he starts speaking that he notices she's with someone else. "Yo Cass, been a minute I just happened to catch you outside an- Oh, am I interrupting something? Should I come back later?" He gives an apologetic nod to the bystander, the man definitely didn't mean any harm.

As Adrian began to beckon for the bartender, the sight of a familiar face in her peripheral vision had her pause. Truthfully the woman was not sure whether the gym leader would have come or not. It was a pleasant surprise as Cassidy gave greeting as she sat down across from her. The edges of her lips would turn upwards into a moderate smile as she nodded, "Hey." To her amusement the first thing that the other woman would do is reach for the drink menu. That meant one of two things: either the woman wanted to try something new or was not too familiar with alcohol. There might have been a few creative seasonal drinks listed on the menu but with how much Adrian spent on bars, she knew most of the common drinks there were and as such didn't bother looking herself. This was further supported by the question to which Adrian chuckled. "Depends on your preference, but we can just get-" she was going to say one of everything when a man had come up to the table.
The ginger would look over the person that interrupted the two. From what was being said they were obviously looking for Cassidy and had somehow overlooked herself sitting there. While this was a mild annoyance this was supposed to be a good night and Adrian was not going to let this kill her mood. The positive thing was that the male appeared to realize his mistake and back of, to which was commendable and rather refreshing from the other encounters she has had with men so far. "A friend of yours?" she would ask Cassidy as she turned her gaze to the woman. "If you think he's chill then he can join in on the booze." After all the alcohol would take away all the problems soon.

Cass slides into the seat across from her, and Adrian's lips lilt into a smile, to her relief. She knows she's not exactly the most social, nor most likable person in the room, and she doesn't try to be. Adrian recognizes that in her personality, and for that she's immensely grateful.
Adrian starts, but then she's suddenly interrupted by someone else. It's familiar, and she can't exactly place it until she gets a good look at his face. Even then there's a moment of hesitation, her mind racing to recall his name.
"...Hello." She greets, taken back by such sudden interruption. He realizes his mistake quickly, and backtracks. While he isn't quite so annoying, it was a thing between the two of them. And it's up to her to choose whether he stays or not.
"Um. Yes he can." She says, deciding that perhaps it wouldn't be so bad. He's well intentioned and he's a ranger. His presence will probably chase away any odd people that would want to talk to them.
The two discuss his being there which makes the situation a little weirder, but they or really Cass quickly decides it was cool which actually makes him feel a little good about himself even if it was a little hesitant. "I was lost and just happened to catch a familiar face. I have a show tomorrow night at a club not too far from here so I wanted to check out the venue. Once I found the place I couldn't really find my way back. Kinda embarrassing, you know?" He give a small laugh before taking a seat beside Cass leaving the gym leader in the middle. "But if you guys really don't mind a third, I'm good to hang. I already know you're a good person Cass and Red seems cool too? He directs his attention to the woman who's already started at her drink. "I'm Venti by the way, but everyone calls me Ven, cool to make your acquaintance." He gives a short wave from his side of the table before leaning forward, he's seen this woman before but he can't exactly figure out where.
When the bartender comes to ask for his order he prompts the man closer whispering into the well dressed man's ear. In seconds the man nods before moving to make some drinks. "Since I definitely interrupted first round is on me." He grins at the two this was the least he could do, he also wasn't much of a drinker himself so it gave him the opportunity to order water silently. "Anyways what prompted the night out guys?"

New guy was weird but at least he wasn't trying to flirt. The other woman had given a hesitant greeting which set off some questions but ultimately it appeared to resolve itself. Once Cassidy had given the okay to allow him to join up, Adrian shrugged as she leaned back in her seat. "Fine with me." While she said that, she didn't actually care for his presence much. Perhaps that was due to her bad experience with men in this region so far. Ignoring the nickname that was assigned to her, she'd eye the man as he gave his name in introduction. Friendly guy from the looks of it. Unlike him, she didn't recognize him but that was likely due to her indifference to knowing other rangers to begin with. "Adrian," she replied curtly as she turned her attention back to Cassidy - the actual person she intended to come here with.
As the bartender made a visit to their table, she was going to order something until the male had stepped in and spoke to him first. She'd raise a brow watching this and as the bartender walked away, the man would explain he was paying for the first round. She was getting war flashbacks about people buying her drinks but suppressed rolling her eyes at it. Free drinks were still drinks and it was not as if she was a lightweight drinker. "Felt like it," another swift answer for his question. There was truly no real reason. It was not as if the duo were planning this night out, it sort of just happened. "He always this talkative?" She directed this towards Cassidy as if acting like Ven wasn't standing there to hear the answer.
