major news alert!
witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.

"A normal one." He laughed, though it was a small huff. Still, he was amused at his own failures. How every girl in the past brushed Raj off. Hunter seemed enthused to be next to him, however, and began to elaborate on her answer. She event went through the trouble of proving herself by revealing the many scars she's endured to him. Needless to say, he was a bit shocked. Raj really didn't think that any of the rangers had it this rough. Especially Hunter, of all people. He felt even worse when he thought back on the way Hutner's legs looked like they had been burned before when they were 'getting it on' a moment ago.
"Being a ranger sounds pretty interesting, huh?" This was Raj being honest. He was fascinated by pokemon. That and girls...but there weren't a lot of sensible jobs that revolved around meeting girls. Pokemon could also accomplish a lot of things people couldn't. "Have you ever seen a Horsea in your ventures? Maybe a Seadra, or even a Kingdra?" Raj couldn't emphasize enough how much he wanted one of these pokemon. That and a Magikarp...although some people thought they were lame, so Raj was never very verbal about that particular interest.

Hunter had been shy about her legs. Not the rest of her body though, those scars and bruises? Showed how much she loved her job, how hard she tried to be good at it. It was a problem at times, how far she would go. But she was dedicated, and simply smiled at him with bright wide eyes, innocence still pure and true in her gaze.
"Pretty interesting? Yeah it's.....fun....sometimes. It's really hard work but I love it, I really do even if I get hard missions. Even if I don't always see people around and stuff you know?"
She'd never admit to the crippling loneliness at night. She hummed and ran a hand through her hair, gazing up at the ceiling before nodding slowly. She'd seen a few horsea in her adventures in the past before, it wasn't all that hard to find.
"You need to swim out pretty far but yes I have actually. Horsea are pretty cute, I helped save a few from fishing nets a while back actually."

"Really?You've been out that far? No wonder you have these scars." Rajendra liked the water, but he also knew the kind of dangers that lurked in it. His Dewgong, Harvey, could swim on it's own, but it wasn't quite able to help Raj navigate through the water. Crasher Wake could help him with that, but first Raj needed to beat him in a battle. He wasn't quite sure if it was a good idea to challenge him just yet. "I'm waiting for my pokemon to be able to surf before I try anything like that myself. I guess I will just have to give Crasher Wake's gym a visit after all." Raj was actually hoping to avoid the gym if at all possible. He loved the water, and water pokemon with it. He didn't want to beat the gym because of that. It also made him think he should be it's gym leader if he did win...hot girls always seemed to love the water, and would wear swimsuits...
Rajendra started to think about Hunter in a swimsuit saving the Horsea, his arm around her and pulling the ranger into his affectionate embrace. "You're too good to be true, you know that?" Raj thought about it all while playing with Hunter's hair like she did with his own, but more gently.

"I'd do anything for a job."
She whispered rather seriously. She would though, and she'd done some things she almost wish she hadn't. Crawling into burrows to save sandshrew, relocating nests and dealing with angry mothers, picking up pokemon with sharp claws and teeth who didn't appreciate her help.
She'd saved so many though, and it made her a little emotional to think about.
"Every scar has a story and I'm proud to be a part of it."
Her eyes were a bit wet and she laughed breathily, wiping at the corners briefly. She flashed a grin at Raj but her face quickly colored. She wasn't anything special, and she felt the need to tell him so.
"You're just a bit sap you know? I'm just a person like you. Just cause I'm a ranger doesn't make me special or anything."
She paused, eyelids fluttering at the sensation of his hands in her hair.
"Or rather....you just seem to put too much faith in me as a person. "

"Can you really put too much faith in someone?" He eyed Hunter curiously, noticing how she got when thinking about how much her job meant to her. It was admirable. But Rajendra couldn't quite relate...he was using his job, but the work itself he could do without. His hand streaked through her hair once more before sliding down her cheek and resting there. "I don't think so." Raj moved to kiss her again before allowing his gaze to be lost in her own...
"And I wouldn't want to. If I can't place all my faith in someone, well, why even bother?" Raj paused for a moment and withdrew his touch. "If it wasn't obvious already, I like you and..." He felt a bit guilty for this; trying to rush things between them. But she seemed to be the same, just on the other side of the law. "Never mind." This was probably a turn off, or even something that would greatly unsettle Hunter, but Raj realized he couldn't consider himself faithful. He was lying to her from the very beginning. Or at least he wasn't telling the truth. "I'm..." He struggled inside to say the words, like some sort of social anxiety where Hunter's opinion weighed down on him as if every ranger were in the room with them; sharing the moment of scrutiny. "Not very good at this am I?" The following laugh was low and nervous, causing Raj to look down and away from Hunter. He started to hurt. Maybe he really wasn't cut out for this sort of thing after all. But he started to feel like she was the best person to tell if any.

Hunter sighed into the contact, enjoying the slow kiss as much as she could before her eyes fluttered back open. Huh, she hadn't realized she closed them. She smiled a bit and stared right back into Raj's eyes, gaze seeming to search his own for a while. Appearing to have liked what she saw she wiggled closer, ducking her head into his shoulder.
She felt a strange pang of something in her chest when he didn't finish.
"No really, it's okay what were you going to say?"
She gazed up at him through her lashes. She squeezed his knee in comfort briefly before raising her head again, gazing at him. She decided maybe a touch of humor was what he needed, and gently turned his face back to hers.
"Aw come on, you can tell your friendly neighborhood ranger, I won't get mad."

It seemed nothing got past her. Rajendra smiled lightly as Hunter pressed for the real answer, though he wasn't very certain if giving in was the best idea. There were so many options...so many ways this could go wrong. She could immediately call for back-up and try to make an arrest. She could tell him to leave, and really all it came down to was putting a wedge between them; which Raj didn't want in the slightest.
His lips tensed for a moment, Rajendra's hand running along Hunter's skin as he contemplated what answer to give her. "Well, you see I'm not actually a trainer or anything like that..." His arms wrapped around her own and squeezed tight so that she couldn't take a swing on him when the truth escaped his lips. "I am really a spy for Galactic..." He wondered how this would make her feel. How much regret and resentment she'd have for Rajendra at this point for having apparently duped her for a quick fling and some information on what her work was.
But if he really was a spy, why blow his cover so soon? Would hunter think of that at all, or be eager to give into a blind hatred? Raj hoped not...he was using Galactic as much as they were using him. It was a mutual relation, but one that wouldn't last forever. Rajendra never joined Galactic with the intention of staying for life. It was a new life with new people. People who didn't want him to become some sort of pokemon professor. He had some exciting days as a criminal. He had little to none as a student. This choice was easy for Raj to make, but it was just as easy for others to judge him based on the decision...
Regardless, Rajendra remained quiet during this time. He wouldn't try to reason with Hunter; make her think a certain way about it. For now he absorbed her feelings, and how quickly they could turn against him. Raj didn't come here tonight as a member of Galactic, and that's what mattered in his desperate little heart. He entered her home as a simple person who admired her smile; her laugh. But now their conversation had gone a little further than he had expected it to, and Raj couldn't help but feel like he was to blame. After all, Hunter wasn't the one who joined Galactic.

There was a certain sense of dread that came with his tone, and being held so tightly. Almost as if he was trying to restrain her, which she realized was the truth once it spilled from his lips. She froze in his arms, thoughts racing a million miles ahead of what her brain could actually comprehend. Her lips parted as her mouth worked to try and form words, but she had nothing.
She released all the air in her lungs in a fell swoop and crumpled against him, staring down at her bare lap. So this was.....
"So this was all for information then right?"
Her voice came out shaky and weaker than she'd have liked. It seemed to hit her hard, the thought that this little tryst was for information and not because he actually seemed to like her.
Who could like someone like her anyway?
She thought back to Liam, to the tears, to her broken arm and Perse's teeth and how bad everything was getting.

"What? No...and, well...yes. But..." He realized she wasn't fighting back. If anything she felt to be losing the will to fight, at least judging by the way she breathed. Raj was causing her grief...and it hurt him just as much when he realized she was more worried about the intent behind this date of their's. "It's not like that, Hunter!" He exclaimed defensively. "I didn't come here to use you for information. I came here for you. What you told me isn't going to help them. It can't." He gave Hunter some space to breath, though his arms were still around her, fingers grasping around her own. Raj didn't want to completely let go. Not yet...not at all. "You want to know why I joined Galactic?" It was a rhetorical question. Hunter was going to hear it anyway. "To impress some girls; any girl. Do you know how hard it was to flirt with the cute girls of your class when you were the bookworm? My parents wanted me to be some sort of professor...I wouldn't have it!" Raj seemed passionate about it, raising his tone and only pausing to breathe...
"It's just like we talked about...I joined Galactic for my own reasons, completely separate from their own agenda." He drew closer into Hunter now, his head burrowing into her chest. "I'm not a bad person...well, maybe I am for leading you on the entire time...but I am no criminal. I have no blood on my hands. Please..." His hands reached around her torso and squeezed so tight that it might hurt a little. "Please don't think of me like that, Hunter. I really like you..."
His voice started to sound like he was choking back whimpering cries, and a single tear would drop from his eye and onto Hunter's skin. "And I feel so fucking stupid now! You liked me back before I even told you I was a part of Galactic, and now you probably hate me for it. I should have never told you! I could've spared us both the trouble. I just might deserve this, but you don't..."

Hunter felt ill. Raj's fingers grasped at hers and her hands twitched, wanting to pull away. She didn't though, giving him the decency to explain himself as she sat with him, completely vulnerable in the worst of ways. She ducked her head briefly, blinking rapidly to control the moisture gathering in her eyes.
She made a small noise, wrinkling her nose. He joined to impress girls? She raised her head then, giving him an incredulous look as she listened. This was all over being some bookworm? She flushed as he burrowed into her chest and she could almost feel her ribs creak from how tightly he was holding her.
"Raj....."
She sighed softly, brushing her fingers through his hair. She sniffled slightly, trying to clear her eyes and sinuses as they threatened to tear up.
"You're an idiot you know that? Cheer up, this isn't the.....the worst thing honestly. I uhm.....it's not like you're the only person in my life who's Galactic honestly."
She swallowed hard, thinking of tears and blood and screaming. Of a raging pokemon, of a friend who only tried to help, of Perse who still had burns. Of a bitterness that things couldn't change.
She huffed out a small laugh and forced him to face her, placing a kiss on his lips.

"I'm not the only one..?" He wondered what exactly Hunter was getting at. Did she fall for another member of Galactic before him? Raj started to feel like questioning her, but instead let go of her fingers after a subtle squeeze. Hunter's kiss was welcomed, though, and he returned it for a brief moment before pulling back to put some space between them. "So..I take it you're good with keeping secrets then?" His smile was bent and strained in a way that conveyed desperation. Rajendra wasn't trying to go on the run now, or anything like that. Ideally he wanted a place at Hunter's side, but he felt it would only ruin her more. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone. Especially your fellow rangers...I don't want to go on the run."'I'd much rather stay here with you.' Is what Raj thought to himself, and while he really wanted to say it he held it back.

Hunter held back a slightly hysterical laugh. She couldn't believe this was happening to her. Her lips parted and she sighed, running her hands through his hair and lightly scratching his scalp. She couldn't believe she was doing this all over again - keeping this kind of secret.
"I won't tell anyone. This will be our secret don't worry Raj....just.....next time don't lie by omission okay?"

He knew what he was asking a lot from Hunter, but when she said yes, Raj felt as though he almost couldn't believe it. "I won't lie...not to you, at least." Being deceitful by second nature couldn't be helped, but there would never be a time where he compromised Hunter's trust. When her hand continued it's way through his hair, Rajendra's right hand placed itself over her own. That's a promise."
Moving closer, Raj cradled the ranger into his arms and placed another kiss on her, this time only on the cheek. He didn't want Hunter to feel like he was taking advantage of her. In a way he had, but only in the same way Hunter did. They both were looking for a special 'friend'."But this won't be the last time we meet, right?" A bit of worry lined his voice. "You're not going to leave me for dead, are you? Cos I wasn't lying. I really want you, Hunter."

Hunter couldn't help but laugh. It was getting dark now and she was growing sleepy, and she kind of wanted to lay down. She stretched out slowly, deliberately, and yawned.
"Don't worry Raj. I really want you too. Now let's stop talking about such heavy subjects okay? I kinda want to go to bed."
She turned the television to a lower volume and settled back against the pillows, eyelids already heavy with impending sleep. She dragged Raj down with her and snuggled close to him, stifling a yawn with her hand and closing her eyes.
