She said in a bit of a muffled tone as she was being crushed by the woman who gave birth to her. "Why is everyone making such a big deal about this? No one freaked out when Cassie went on her journey!" Gloria, middle child of Lerry and Katey Fletcher, was following her twenty year old sister's lead in becoming a Pokemon Trainer. However, while Kasey had decided to become a Ranger, Gloria was going to set off and become world champion. Or, at least the best Trainer she could be. Didn't want to over achieve, you know? Katey, her mother that was smothering her with love, brought her daughter out of the hug and gave her a look that, in normal circumstances, she'd be receiving from her daughter. "But you're different!" Katey tried to explain. "Have you seen what you do in new situations? You have a complete panic attack!" It was true. Ever since that one incident when she was five, where some eight year old punk decided to tell her scary stories and proceeded to steal her toys, her trust started to dwindle. From then on, she started having a thing against people. It wasn't "traumatic" in the traditional sense, but it was bad enough to plant a seed of paranoia in Gloria's brain that she could never shake. Gloria grabbed her mom's shoulders and looked at her with as much confidence and reassurance as she could possibly muster. "Don't worry, mom," Gloria laughed at the irony of reversed roles. "We all knew nothing was going to stop me from doing this. I've been wanting to be a Trainer ever since Cassie left on hers! And besides, what kind of example would I be to Bee if I didn't go?" Bee was the youngest of the three girls, Beverly, and clearly the baby of the family. She was four years younger than Gloria, so she still had a ways to go before she could go on a journey. In all honesty, Gloria didn't have to want to go in order for Bee to want to go. If anything, the baby of the family wanted to go on a journey more than either of her sisters. "Mom's just worried that you'll enter the lab and go on and puke all over the Prof's lab coat." Speaking of Beatrice, she was quite the smart mouth. Not a lot of sarcasm came out of her little mouth, but she was a sassy little bugger. They two squabbled a lot, but Gloria couldn't hate her too much when she was literally the only person she really talked to. Ever. The two had always been able to come up with snarky replies to each other's smart mouthed attitude, and despite the circumstance, this was no different. Gloria gave her younger sister a rather incredulous look before giving her a rather emotionless smirk. "Oh, sure. Like getting all psycho and jumping around like an idiot would be any better." The two girls laughed, mentally noting that even though Gloria would be leaving for who knew how long, they still managed to find something to argue about."Some things never change, do they? Gloria asked with a bit of a somber grin. Even Bee's expression, which was almost always a smirk or some kind of hardened expression, had to hide her face in her hair as she felt her eyes sting a bit. Her face softened for the first time Gloria had ever seen it happened, and before there was even another sign of emotion, the middle child embraced her younger sister in a hug. "I knew you were leaving one day," Bee explained. "But I didn't know it would be so soon. I... I wish I could go with you." Gloria let out a bit of a laugh as she patted her sister's back. It really wasn't like Bee to act this emotional. That was more Gloria's forte, but at least she knew that her little sister truly cared about her. "You're acting as if I'm getting married, or something." But Gloria couldn't help her own shaky voice and tears. She'd always been the crybaby of the family, and both her sisters let her know this fact well. But seeing either of her sisters cry like this made her cry even worse. The two sisters squeezed each other before releasing and backing away. "I'll be back. I just, you know, have to get some Pokemon, battle some gyms and all that jazz. I mean, everyone's gotta leave the nest at some point to do this, right? And you won't be more than three years behind me." That didn't seem to make Bee feel any better, but she nodded anyway. Turning away from the two, Gloria looked at the same door Cassie had exited four years earlier before glancing back at them. "Tell Dad I'll miss him, okay?" Her father, a rather rigorous workaholic, had a talk with Gloria the previous night. He had explained that he had a rather important business meeting and couldn't see her off. Gloria wasn't at all happy about that at first, but then she reasoned that some things had to come first. Her father's job, and their family's income, was one of those things. The other two women nodded, both of which looked as if they were trying too hard to keep themselves from crying. Gloria was trying harder than both of them. It was really hard for her to speak right now. Gloria grabbed the doorknob, waved at them, and shut the door behind her. Once that door shut, everyone was in tears. This had to have been the most pitiful send off she had ever heard of. None of her other friends did this, and her sister surely didn't. But of course, this just fit the cry baby so well, that it had to be this way. Once Gloria could compose herself, she ran away from her house in order to make up for the ten minutes she spent just standing there crying. This was truly the beginning of something special. It was new, but it was a good kind of new. She could tell. [PTab=ROLEPLAYER]
