Myles always lived with a "what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger" attitude. At the age of seven, Team Galactic stormed Floaroma Town and burned it to the ground. The small boy had been fortunate, he had been one of the few who had escaped. Unfortunately, escaping came with a great cost; his family and partially his vision. As the flames died and the wreckage became obvious, Myles had been carted off to Hearthome City and placed in one of the various orphanages that had been formed in the devastation left by Team Galactic.[break][break]

The orphanage was as nice as one could expect, the various care takers tried their best but it was evident that money was lacking. At the age of thirteen, Myles simply left in the night. From there on out he traveled the region, stealing and living off the land. Missing an eye was a hindrance and the boy struggled but once again, he survived. [break][break]

Through his travels he met his now constant companion, an infant Growlithe orphaned in a scarily similar situation. A devastating forest fire near Twinleaf Town had destroyed the pokemon's nest and had left the small pup abandoned. The two took to each other instantly, Myles now seventeen and quick proficient in his travelling ways nursed the pokemon to health and the two roamed the world together.[break][break]

It was only natural for Myles to fall into the Rangers once he turned eighteen. The organization had offered him money in return for doing what he had already been doing; roaming the region and keeping an eye on things. Now with a steady pay check and a bit more freedom to move, he has slowly began working on capturing and taking down as many Team Galactic members as he can, to avenge his family and home town.
