witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
she’s breathless, she’s paralyzed and in addition to that, she’s disappointed at herself for making such rushed assumption. the ranger sits back in disbelief, not bothering to get away from the other because molly had already done it. one single breath exhaled when she heard the other’s words. it went from a ‘didn’t mean to’ to a ‘i’m sorry’. both sentences ran through her brain as she was trying to make sense of what she had missed. this time taar’s resort was only to put on a spirited mask and contour her way around the heartbreaking situation. “it’s okay. i’m the one who should be apologizing…” she whispered a dry laugh. “sorry.” just when she thought she was past being regretful. “not my best judgement call.” she felt like crawling into a hole, but to the feeling she was afraid molly would be there and more awkwardness would prevail. she had no idea what to say to this kind of rejection. what a fool.
Molly pulls her knees up to her chest and tightly wraps her arms around them, resting her chin on top. Guilt and regret fester in her mind, and she can't bring herself to even glance in Taar's direction. She can't even muster up the courage to respond to Taar, too ashamed to try.
"..."
They're stuck in a suffocating silence, and the tension's so thick that she could practically slice a knife through it. She can practically hear the regret in Taar's voice, such a stark contrast form before, that it's rattling.
"I didn't hate it."
Molly blurts out, and she immediately draws a hand to her mouth, because it's like insult to injury. She would never seek to hurt Taar that way, especially now, of all the moments she chose to say something so irrational and reckless.
She reaches over, hesitant fingers feather light against what was probably Taar's hand. If she'd let her, Molly would nudge her pinky in, linking it with one of Taar's fingers, like she's about to make a promise.
taar shouldn’t have done it either way, she’s sure of it, but she took molly’s word for it since sincerity was sounded just low enough for her to hear. despite what occurred, it all felt so extremely intimate… however she’s decided to enable a higher state of cautiousness around the other whilst letting her lock their fingers in a promising matter. she began with a tone so clean it completely masked her own anxiety. "still. i shouldn’t have jumped into such assumption." hands, once freed, motioned nervously on her own lap as if it missed the newly found touch they’ve, just as easily, been deprived to, ripped away by some complete idiot, their owner. [break]she began understanding molly by the way she reacted, although there were so much unsaid. if the galactic had even the slightest of interest in her anymore, taar’d definitely be looking forward to getting to know her a lot more. "i hope… i didn’t fuck things up." she shifted uncomfortably. "are we still… friends?" saying acquaintances felt terribly wrong on her mind, but hearing herself label an extremely recent relationship to a whole other level… to that she just prayed.
Molly feels her fingers loosen from hers, and she lets her hand hang in the empty air before reluctantly retracting it. She usually never seeks to apologize to people, but today it seems as if she's broken a new personal record in the past hour. Taar is just different. She connects with her on a whole new level.
Because for all that she's chalked herself up to be; a manipulator, a gold digger, a bad person, Molly is still human. She feels, and she can't deny the warmth that bubbled up at the thought of seeing Taar when she walked towards the cabin, or the overwhelming despair that weighs her down at this very moment.
"We're still friends."
We've been friends this whole time, she thinks, remembering the way Taar had greeted her at the door and taken the coffee with enthusiasm. There are a thousand things she has yet to say, but she can't exactly find the right words to voice it.
They're stuck in quietness again, too scared to run but too tense to speak. Oh, how I'd love to hold your hand again, she thinks, and oh, wouldn't it have been nice to be like that forever? She rubs at where Taar's fingers had clutched at her skin, tight but not constricting.
The realization crashes upon her like the floodgates that crumble before a tsunami, and she suddenly smiles. Sexuality be damned, Molly will reach for Taar like she she reaches for the sky on a starry night. At this, she takes the moment to clear her throat and lick her lips in anticipation. She's hesitant but she has nothing to lose at this point, her pride already gone.
she senses as if she were on a rollercoaster ride that never stopped. the offer’s so unexpected, that the ranger felt a gust of air trying to knock her down. of course, it was impossible since they were trapped in a complete shut box. her mouth remained parted from the interpretation of molly’s words whilst air struggled to come out. oxygen is running low.“you…” she swallows dryly. “what do you mean by that… exactly? i mean i-“ she’s suddenly hyperventilating, the softest of tones came whispered from her throat. “know what you mean. sorry.. y-yes. i-i’d like that….” she sat very still, afraid the other might go away and wished to see molly's face illuminated by any godforsaken light making its way inside, from a crack of the closet. that needed to happen at that very best moment or she’d miss the golden haired. unfortunately, she's never even seen the characteristically gleam her eye’s possessed (or maybe it was the fireplace earlier) and thus she waited for anything else. something. for she was incapable of even rethinking what had just happened. it wasn’t real, dhr esd afraid. she’s been in there for so long she might as well be dreaming.
Molly waits with baited breath after she confesses. Taar may have been too hurt to trust her again, and she understands that. With a shaky breath the other stutters through, as if she couldn't comprehend what she'd just said. And to be fair, Molly hadn't either.
It's an impulsive, rash choice, but Molly has never cared about the opinions of others. She brushes off the rumors and targets on her back and continues with her life, as if nothing's happened. But in this closet, with Taar, it seems as if everything will change.
"I'm glad."
She sighs in relief, the tension removed from her shoulders, as if the weight of the whole world had just been lifted. Molly pauses to see if anything will happen, but Taar remains still. It's up to her to conduct the first move, but she doesn't mind one bit.
"Can I...?" She asks, but regardless whether Taar would approve or not, she'd reach forward, hands laid on what was her neck. Like before, with the gentlest of touches and a slow caress, she'd move her hands up, before she felt the corner of Taar's lips.
At this, Molly huffs a small laugh, slightly in disbelief because she's actually doing this. Something she had never imagined that'd she do in her life.
Molly doesn't ever seek such attention, especially from girls, but today she's made an exception. Her thumb swipes across the skin on Taar's lips -- they're softer, more than a boy's will ever be -- and she reaches forward for another kiss, much more passionate and possessive from the first.
“…yes.” she muttered coyly. to every touch taar shivered, hesitant not to startle the galactic member by touching her back wrongly. she shrugged it off, maybe that first kiss was simply rushed. this one felt… alive, as if molly had put effort into making it count. if so, the ranger would do the same. it took a couple of minutes to decide if reciprocating was the appropriate action. taar, for one, didn’t regret one bit after locking her fingers on blonde locks. with lips burning red, she pressed them continuously against the other, leaving it to her to conduct the clearly new experience.[break]ah, that realization mid kiss where all muscles relax at the same time and the person, clearly whipped, melts onto their loved ones’ kiss. how could you fall for someone in a single fucking day? wasn’t all those romantic movies all propaganda to have the alienated audience pay more and think less. the so called fan service. speaking of thinking, for once taar had nothing even remotely related to her insecurities crossing her mind. instead, she planned meticulously on her next actions regarding the one besides her. the sergeant used her other hand on the other’s waist to firmly place her, trapping molly’s lower lip between her teeth as soon as both stopped for air. she was sure not to hold it too tight, it was just enough so she could release it and pull the girl for another make out session.
She can feel Taar's hesitation at first, but Molly's nothing if not persistent. They melt into each other, a hand smooths across her hair and she finds that it's not too different from a regular kiss. She quirks into a smile, and when they break, Taar catches the bottom edge of her lip on her teeth.
Molly's breath quickens, and they're reaching for each other again, too caught up to break. She's nearly out of breath when she pulls back, taking a moment to smooth over her rough breathing. Her mouth is numb from such actions, and her face is warm under the darkness they've submerged themselves in.
At this, she only grins and huffs a nervous laugh before leaning forward, resting her head on Taar's chest. Molly has had plenty of moments like this before, but it's never felt better. She sighs, closing her eyes and murmuring a quick thanks. Sleep comes quickly in her exhaustion.
