Unease.
Being in Sunyshore again was.. difficult. Her fingers tightened on her sleeves, trying to keep her head calm. She couldn't give away the game - not at this stage. And that meant swallowing her feelings, hiding her impulses when she saw a familiar face - that old lady used to give her apples, and talk about how what happened was so unfortunate - and treating the entire town as if it was a new place. All for the sake of whatever she had to be doing. Not that it was a mission - or even ranger sanctioned - but she had decided to show her face to her brother. Or figure out why the last time she called home, it went to a disconnected line.
Maybe she could have avoided putting on a brown wig, and contact lenses that turn her eyes brown, but be better safe then sorry.
Her steps brought her to the old district where she used to live. At least, before she left home. With a lick of her lips, she noticed a cafe that hadn't been there before. It would be the best place to go, now wouldn't it? She was walking towards it, opening the door, when she was faced with a familiar face. A boy she used to date in school - but had broken up with just before her last boyfriend. Giving him a tepid smile, she looked up at the menu, and ordered a simple coffee. Taking it, she headed to a table in the corner, sipping at the drink by herself. Perhaps she shouldn't have come here... it wasn't something she usually did. Rubbing her wrist, the ranger contemplated if she should just leave the town again, or actually stick it out.
A shadow fell over her, and lifting her head, she saw a jock she had once known.
Oh great. Just what she needed. Now either she pretends to wait for a white knight, or just she just dumps her coffee on this loser and leaves. Decisions, decisions.
