her hand hasn't stopped tapping against the seat to some imaginary beat that only she can hear. she doesn't notice the glares and the side glances she had been getting the entire train ride. her eyes were focused on something that wasn't there; her mind lost in her own little world. they were getting closer to the city now and the only thing that she was focused on was on getting her ranger license. she had prepared herself for this day since her brother came to her one day and showed her the paper from when he took the test. it had not been that long ago but it had made her want to leave too; that same little, snowy city where each day they fished for food and ran a shop that neither of them wanted. so when he decided to leave, she did as well.

there had always been a sense of adventure in her and being a ranger seemed like a good place to start. goodbye to the snowy, little town where their future had been already set in stone and hello to a future full of possibilities. it was then a hand reached over to place itself over hers, stopping the repeated tapping and making a collective sigh of relief go through the cabin. she glances up to stare sheepishly into his eyes, shrugging at the questioning look being thrown her way. she was fine; more than fine actually. she was just ready to go.
