witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
Grunts. Always the little men, always the one that were so horny for power that they'd do anything to get it. It's a shame, really. Lena may have blacked out last night and woken up with a strange man by the name of isaac frey in her bed, but that doesn't stop her from going to work again today. Hungover and groggy, she barely notices the screaming, the running, the frantic atmosphere. Something isn't right; something is happening in broad daylight. She realizes that the happy music played previously has turned imperial- what a cheesy effect.
Oh. She's being held at gunpoint. Lena turns at the click. Dirty ranger bitch, give me your tech shit and your pokemon, we'll call this a day'. Oh, man. This was exciting. With a sigh, Lena releases a houndoom. Romulus isn't happy about her master being cornered-- the pokemon snarls, jaws flaming with a fire fang as raised hackles threaten to take away the grunt's most cherished of parts.
"Sir, please drop your weapons and leave. The festival is not the place for this." She had to finish this, and fast. Others needed help, somewhere. All that screaming had a reason.
"Cheap shot," she huffs, eyes on the ground type that takes over the field. Romulus's fire fang fades, instead the pokemon focuses on jumping out of the way of the bonemerang. "It'll come back around!" Lena warns, satisfied as a glossy sheen covers the houndoom's black fur, the protect saving it as the dog catches the returning bone in its jaws, snapping it in two. recalls it shortly after, instead replacing the hound with a snover. "Stand by, sit."
A double battle would be necessary here- they had to look out for each other somehow. If only she had Toad, or Lancer on her.. no matter. A battle was a battle, and she had all the tools necessary. "ice it."
The snover, oh so eager to please as always, releases the sharp beam of ice toward the marowak, hail and powder snow following as the snow warning comes into effect. Romulus isn't too happy about being pelted, but she'll last in the long run.

A cool cover, a frantic, mushy core. Lena hasn't had a battle this difficult since her early days, and while she does her best to remain composed, she can't help but feel a bit sick to her stomach. She's on the defensive, and Romulus is forced to protect itself again. The behemoth of the Hariyama will be poisoned with a nasty toxic in the process, but Lena is still forced to dig in and grit her teeth. She doesn't have time for this battle, not with so much going on. "Get one hit on that Marowak and this is over, Delta!" her voice strains as she struggles to remain composed. Rangers never back down, but this grunt was more than what met her eye. She had been caught off guard with a less-than stellar team.
Romulus does her best to ignore the hail that pelts her, while Delta aims his ice beam right for the Marowak's heart. The Hariyama, hyped on bath salts makes short work of the snover while it's distracted, the smelling salts causing a one-hit faint. For a moment, the hail ceases. Heroes never die. One revive and the Snover is back, albeit weaker. It will turn into a dodge-game soon, and not everyone will come out alive.

An exciting development: evolution. Lena is no stranger to the phenomenon, and this one has been long-awaited. Snover doubles in size, the abomasnow roaring as it stretches into its new skin. It roars with its evolution, the hail seeming to intensify as its power source grows. Its fist turn an icy green, the wood hammer aiming to smash the Hariyama before the Musharna's psychic takes over, bringing the new pokemon to its knees, unable to handle the mental invasion. It cries out and ultimately falls, quick to be recalled and replaced.
Romulus is fighting her own battles, her protect becoming weaker, less effective as she struggles to fight against the smelling salts. The next shield won't hold-- they need to end this, and fast. A whistle from Lena and the dog glares at the Musharna, summoning a toxic upon the dreaming pokemon as it takes more hits from hail, bracing for the worst to come.
Infant takes the place of a fallen Delta, skull glowing as it rears back with flaring nostrils, charging for the Hariyama with a zen headbutt, followed by another in succession. Lena doesn't give herself time to relax-- the battle is far from over.
