major news alert!
witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
The second she made it to Eterna and got cozy at home, Lena realized she had made a terrible, terrible mistake. One shoe was missing, with its sock. She had two pairs when she left home, only only three shoes in her bag now. She panicked, naturally. She texted LIAM SUMMERS , but he hadn't seen the shoe anywhere in Oreburg. Next she re-scouted the bike path, to no avail. She hadn't opened her bag at all on route 203, which meant one thing.. it was lost in Sandgem. Unfortunately the most convenient train station was in Oreburg, so Lena was forced to work her way back, all the way to route 202. She found her beloved shoe at the pokemon center in Sandgem, and make an immediate turn-around to start biking back to the Oreburg station by nightfall.
She's way ahead of schedule, and while she sits to eat lunch she can't help but feel it's been too long since her last battle. So, naturally, she waits. The first person to walk by is going to be her next snack.
After a long rest in Sandgem Town, the girl was finally ready to walk her way to Jubilife City. Sandgem was a nice quiet town, a getaway relaxation town, even including a beach! But Giselle was ready to get a move on and explore the city, maybe she'd even visit the trainer school she'd heard was there and pick up a few tips and tricks.
While in Sandgem Town, the trainer had added two new Pokemon to her team, both pink of course. A cute little Snubbull that a man named Jason had traded her, and a Munna that she'd bought from a breeder. Her team was almost complete, though she practically hadn't trained, at all. If she wanted to be ready to take on the gym leader in Oreburgh City, Giselle had a far way left to go.
Bag packed and slung over her shoulder, the trainer took her first steps onto Route 202. "Let's go, Marcy!" The Sylveon was released from its pokeball, walking close next to her trainer. Giselle hoped to find more wild Pokemon to battle, maybe even catch. Or perhaps she'd run into a fresh trainer like herself who'd want to battle.
Much to her delight, Giselle catches sight of a girl sitting down eating her lunch. Maybe she'd have interest in a battle? "Hey!" the trainer called out as she made her way over to the girl. What was supposed to happen next? Giselle wasn't sure, this would be her first battle, after all, if the girl accepted. "Wanna battle?" Blunt was the best way to go about it she supposed.
Lena almost jumps out of her skin as she's called out; granted, she was going to do it to the first person she saw, too, so... Regardless. She jumps to her feet, grin on her face. "Absolutely!" How did this girl know? Was she a mind reader? Either way, the blond was more than happy to get a battle going. She could have laughed-- she had done the same exact thing to that other trainer. Was this karma? If it was, she was loving every second. Lena releases her first pokemon without hesitation-- her severely underleveled gastly. Martha had only small experience, but Lena was hoping it would be enough.
"Single, right? Or did you wanna double?" She realizes how odd this seems out of context. "Battle, I mean, haa, sorry."
Giselle was ecstatic with how quickly the other girl agreed to battle her. The trainer wasn't really expecting such an agreeable 'yes' but she'd definitely take it. This would be her first battle, and she was ready to conquer.
Her opponent released a Ghastly out onto the field and since Marceline was already out of her ball, Giselle was going to use her Sylveon first. "Okay, Marcy, you're up first go get 'em!" she tried to whisper the words to her Pokemon, but the excitement made them come out louder.
"A single battle sounds good to me!" Giselle called out to her opponent. It would be easier for her to just focus on one Pokemon instead of trying to monitor the actions of two. Now what? Both trainers had their Pokemon out, but who moved first. Would it be rude of her to just attack, or was that what she was supposed to do? Instead of attacking, she simply asked, "Are you ready?" Maybe the other girl would make the first move.
The girl's energy is refreshing, compared to that last few trainers she had run into. To see the girl with the same reckless abandon as she had only a few weeks ago.. it's a reminder to Lena that there are still motivated trainers out here. She suddenly feels very old, but disregards the sinking feeling for the sake of the battle. The sylveon is nothing short of impressive; it becaome obvious to Lena very quickly that the the fairy type was to this stranger as her own ivysaur was to her. She almost feels bad battling it-- but not quickly enough. "All right! Let's knock it out and use that new TM, Martha" she quips, happy to get the battle started. The girl is naive, letting her have the first move, but maybe the sylveon is faster than she expects.
The gastly is more than happy to let its eyes shine red as it gets up in the Sylveon's face, hypnotic waves being sent toward the fairy type in an attempt to lull it to sleep. Whether it works or not doesn't change her next move-- the sludge bomb comes hard and heavy. The gastly regurginates the distisgusting ooze from its mouth before hurling the toxic sludge at the pretty-in-pink opponent. Lena can only watch on, paying close attention to the battlefield should this stranger have any tricks up her sleeve.
gastly - 11 - 100% used hypnosis! used sludge bomb (30% chance to poison)!
Giselle wasn't expecting such a brutal first attack from the other trainer, but that was exactly what came. After jumping into her Sylveon's face and putting her to sleep, the Gastly through a poison bomb at the fairy, knocking it over. Even unconscious, the eeveelution let out a soft cry of pain. If it hadn't already been asleep from the hypnosis, it would have been out cold from the poison bomb. With only a single attack, Sylveon was already defeated.
The trainer's eyes welled up as she recalled the Pokemon to her ball. This already wasn't going to plan, but at least she had three more Pokemon on her team to try and take out her opponent. The pokeball she tossed into the air released a Munna. Just having bought the Munna in town, this was her first time using it in battle.
Maybe she'd have better results if she copied the other trainers play style. "Yawn and psybeam!" Giselle called out the moves and hoped that her Munna knew what to do.
The dream eating Pokemon opened her jaws in a wide yawn, hoping to pass on the drowsiness to the Gastly. Following her yawn, she left her mouth open to shoot out a beam of energy in an attempt to hit the ghost Pokemon square in the face. Giselle didn't know what to expect from the combination of moves, but she hoped they hit hard.
Lena's heart nearly breaks as the girl tears up-- she's been there before. "M-Maybe we shouldn't-" she almost recalls her gastly before the girl sends out her next pokemon, with the full intention of finishing the battle. Surprised and concerned at the same time, she doesn't have time to warn a distracted Martha of the incoming attacks from the girl's next pokemon. Lena has to snap herself back into it. "Sludge bomb, while you still can!" She's already rustling around in her bag to prepare for the next move.
Gastly takes both hits in stride, wavering in its levitated state; she feels groggy, and the psybeam only makes her weaker. Martha is faltering; she barely has enough time to release her commanded sludge bomb before falling asleep, her motions stilling. Lena is quick to act with her potion; it may not wake the gastly up, but it will keep her going for just a little bit longer. The sludge bomb won't be enough to take out the munna, but if she gets lucky it will seep into the sleepy psychic type and do its work.
gastly - 13 - 100% learned curse! hit by yawn! hit by psybeam! -88% Lena used a potion! 100% Gastly used sludge bomb (30% chance to poison)! gastly fell asleep! 2 turns last (randomly generated)
The attack from the Munna seemed to do a lot of damage, but it wasn't enough as the trainer sprayed a potion on her ghost type Pokemon putting it back in pristine condition. The yawn seemed to work though, as the Gastly yawned back, kicking the play into effect. Before the ghost fell asleep, it managed to fling out another one of its sludgy messes.
"Quick, defense curl!" Giselle called out the move hoping it would lessen the effect, but it wasn't quick enough. Before Munna was able to curl herself up, she was covered in the gunky mess. With the ghost Pokemon now asleep, Giselle was free to attack as she pleased. "Uh, how about a psywave!" The girl wasn't exactly sure what the move did, but she knew it was something that the psychic Pokemon knew.
As the Munna sent waves of energy off from its body, she flinched in pain. She must've been poisoned from the Gastly's attack. A tear slid down Giselle's cheek as she watched the pink blob fight through the pain. "Hang in there, Luna!" She knew the Pokemon couldn't withstand much more. Maybe she should take another page out of the girl's book and use a potion to heal her.
The girl is resilient- she gets back up from being knocked down, so-to-speak. Lena is almost proud of her as she lets her munna get it together. The little sleepy psychic type batters gastly with more waves of energy-- this one much weaker than before. Gastly is disturbed in his slumber, but it does not break. The ghost type sleeps on, leaving Lena helpless in the water. With a frustrated grunt, she fishes out a different pokeball, releasing her staravia onto the field. "End this." she's quick to speak, and the flying type is faster. Lancer sends himself forward with a quick attack, energy cascading off of his wings with talons extended as he aims to gouge the munna in its place.
Lena feels bad, briefly. She has to remind herself how valuable of a lesson losing was to her. Winning this battle is only brings her further, only validates her confidence after losing so many times. The girl will hurt now, but Lena can only hope she takes this battle for what it's worth later.
gastly - 13 - 100% asleep! 1 turn remaining! hit by psywave! -17 --> 83%
