major news alert!
witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
Was it an emotion? Or was it instinct? Some say curiosity was what gave birth to humans' ever so rapid evolution - so much that it has allowed them to capture pokemon within a small capsule. Curiosity was what allowed humans to research and expand as much as they did, and without such a vital thing existing, well, humans would be on the equal plane of intelligence as a barbarian. But what was ironic was the fact that Olivia herself was interested in curiosity as a whole. Why was she interested? That.. She didn't know. In her opinion, it was like a constant loop. You want to know something so badly, but in her case she wanted to know why people to know things. Much like philosophy, seeing how Psychology had theoretically stemmed from oh Mother Philosophy to begin with. It's what made people question how things worked.
Humans wouldn't have evolved as much as they did if the answer to everything was 'Arceus and Mew'. Why would we need school then? Yeah, exactly. Then again, she was the one who dropped out a year in and ran away from Snowpoint. It's actually been quite the number of years since she has left that sorry excuse for a woman behind, but at this point she couldn't find it in herself to care. All these actions and emotions just made her all the more curious, which provoked her to go and analyze the field. Area of interest was Eterna City; the green town that was buried in history. While on any other occasion, she would have come to observe and listen in on little stories of the past. You know, of Palkia and Dialga. If they were the pokemon who controlled space and time.. It should be a piece of cake for them to reset the world. Maybe then she could see how humans would have reacted to situations before they had evolved to such an extent.
The silent Galactic Recruit took her sweet time, lazily staring into space as her surroundings were moving fast around her. While there have been few who stared at her.. Peculiar division between eye and hair colour, she simply brushed off such looks. Hmm.. Maybe she should have just worn the green and black, just so that it wouldn't attract attention. The calm gaze of a brown and pink shifted over to a couple by the statue, ears perking up to eavesdrop. One man got on his knee, pulling out a ring as the woman was covering her lower face to stifle back tears of pure joy. Love was still such a foreign concept to her, and even sexual attraction was something that she had trouble grasping. They were both overwhelming with emotion.. But it was an emotion that she couldn't understand and thus dismissed. On the other hand, there was a child crying because they were unable to get a candy bar from the poke-mart. Sadness, agitation and annoyance from the elder who was removing the child by the collar, practically dragging him back home.
So many events around, and yet she was alone. There were still so many questions she had in that scheming little head of hers.
About half an hour passed, give or take, and she was still sitting on the bench and listening to her surroundings until everything died down. Though rare, a hint of distaste was detectable in her expression. Usually, she had a cocky smirk plastered on her face if not a polite smile. She was bored.
So.. Why was she in Eterna again? Simple, she was most likely slacking off duties again. Olivia grew uninterested at a dangerously rapid rate, but she was good at what she was doing; no matter what it was. "Mmmn.." The woman let out an unimpressed groan, slowly pulling out a petite notebook and a pencil that was clipped to her white coat. The pencil ran over the surface of the notebook smoothly, but while immersed in her scribbling, don't think for a second that she wasn't staying high on alert. Why wouldn't she?
[attr="class","LastCross"]he Eterna City galactic base was running smoothly upon his inspection today. He'd flown out under Cyrus' orders himself to give a report concerning the functions of the facility if things weren't in order he was to stay and make the necessary changes. He figures its a move to get the man out of Veilstone perhaps in a move to discover what exactly it was the man had been planning. If so the commander had acted to late, the wheel of fate had been put into motion and it was only a matter of time before everything changed.
Aster took the command willingly and upon arriving and exploring the base's facilities he had nothing significant to note. Grunts were being trained pokemon were being recovered, and progress concerning a certain Legendary trio was being looked into accordingly. Indeed, all was well at the Eterna base other than one minor smudge on this otherwise ordinary day, that being the disappearance of a certain Olivia Kirkwood. A number of spies offered to retrieve the woman when it was discovered she was MIA, and as it turned out many grunts happened to spot the girl on her way out, all of whom wished to get a good word from the admin. Why exactly the woman seemed so noticable was cited to her pecuilar appearance. Aster had yet to see the woman, but when described it was noted that, "He'd know her when he saw her." To that the man simply raised an eyebrow, stating he'd handle the occurrence himself and would be back with Ms. Kirkwood shortly.
Upon leaving the base the admin called forth Nineteen from her pokeball the Staraptor had wished to fly today anyways seeing as the Weather was perfect for the pokemon. After receiving the girl's description the bird pokemon shot off into the Sinnoh skies scouring the town for this oddly described human.
It only took fifteen minutes for the bird to mark her target.
Nineteen was circling the statues of the legendary pokemon the town revered, it was one of the most popular destinations in town the statues having survived since the town's founding, possibly even before. They pokemon displayed were also the two of the few he needed to acquire for the purpose of his grand design. He'd come to the town many a time in his travels prior to joining galactic, searching for any information absorbing the legends and texts the town offered. He remembers how desperate he was back then, willing to do anything to get the answers he needed. All in all, not much had changed now he simply had the power to acquire what it was he wanted. The process was slow, dreadfully so, but he was inching closer to his goals every day. With every sunrise and sunset the world he envisioned drew nearer to dark-skinned man. As he makes his way to the square where the statues sat he can't help but wonder how much longer would this world make him wait?
His subordinates are true to their words, upon arriving his eyes fall upon a woman her hair and eyes mismatched yet almost surprisingly even. It Almost as if the girl could perfectly be split apart an amalgamation of two people. She looked to be his age if not a little younger as she marked and wrote in that book of hers. He keeps his hood up, lest people recognize, Aster Twain. The man who'd supposedly attempted to murder someone and avoided the rangers for months on end. His disguise isn't complex by any means a black-haired wig and glasses change the shape of his face, and that's enough to avoid any prying eyes. The admin wasted no time entering the woman's personal space taking a seat on the bench his eyes focused on the statues of the legendary pokemon. He'd waste no time with names or introductions instead asking a question. Whether or not she knew who he was didn't particularly matter to the Admin at this juncture only the answers to his questions.
"Tell me, do you care for this world? I'm curious." A single golden eye moves from the statue to the woman herself analyzing the grunt interest in her being not as much obvious as it is expected.
Heterochromia, the condition that has left her in the position she is now.
What made humans divide themselves from others? What made her so much more different than the next? He who was so desperate to conceal her oddly coloured hair and duel-shaded eyes, and she who loathed her because she was nothing like either of them. Why would people separate themselves, she wondered. There had been gazes, stares, and whispers that she could so clearly hear regarding her appearance. However, Olivia herself found no reason to indulge herself in such insufficient comments that bundled up malicious intents.
She wasn't so stupid as to wear her uniform outside of the base; lest she wanted to announce to the world that she was a part of Team Galactic. The silent Grunt would rather not pull off something so foolish, although it would be terribly funny to watch any possible gasps of fear. Or watch any foolish trainer jumping out and claiming that they will defeat her like they were some sort of hero. Just the thought of being able to witness such a scene almost brought a twang of satisfaction to her expression. Almost. In the meantime, her pencil glided across the surface of the pages to record her thoughts of the week. It was always so nostalgic reading back to previous entries, even if it could be physically painful from the sudden wave of it all. Weighed at her heart, but she took that pressure and purposely converted it into aimless curiosity. Maybe that's why she was always asking questions? Pff.. Any more and she may create her own paradox without even realizing.
Olivia knew fully well that an Admin would be coming to inspect the Eterna branch. Many of her fellow grunts and recruits had been trying their best to bring out the prime in their abilities with hopes to impress the big shot who decided to waltz on in to check. If she recalled, it was orders from their leader; Cyrus. While personally, Olivia couldn't care less about landing a very positive first impression. Not to say that she was rude or rambunctious.. She was just labelled an oddball. Was it the hair? The eyes?
Or maybe was it the fact that she didn't speak?
'I'm a mess' She wrote in her notebook, staring at the words written out so neatly in that barrage of paragraphs clumped up together. The woman shook her head briefly, the corner of her lips curling upwards for a moment until deciding to erase it. What to write.. What to write? Ideas were storming in her mind, and yet she was having trouble figuring out what to write. It was eventful, but there was nothing of interest that she would like to record. It was the small things that made things interesting, but to record purely uninteresting events would bore her to near death should she reread said entry. On a search for a subject.. And little did she know, the object of interest would be casually weaving it's way on over - or should she say his?
The sound of footsteps on the pavement was enough to snap her out of the state of thought she was in. She could feel the so very faint pressure on the bench as it was holding both the weight of herself and another individual. Through the bangs of her chocolate locks, the single, pink eye gazed at the figure adjacent to her. A darker tan of skin, and a smooth voice to the boot. What piked her interest however, was the sudden question that came seemingly out of no where.
"Tell me, do you care for this world? I'm curious."
Curiosity. So it could even bring a stranger to speak up. Her topic of interest, and yet she was having so much trouble wrapping her head around it. But onto the question itself.. In retrospect, she didn't know. If she had to pick however, she would say that she didn't. The world had already given her a hard time because of their selfish sense of pride and dividing those who were 'normal' to ones who were 'monsters' and 'freaks' so to say. It was cruel. Words weren't needed to answer such a seemingly simple question. While any ignorant child would say that they adored it, Olivia from a young age so badly wanted to run up to Mew and Arceus in attempts to ask them what was wrong in their heads when making humans.
But she was aimless
So she probably couldn't care less. Olivia's head lifted up slowly, gazing out at the statues before them calmly to ponder over the answer. How she wanted to convey it to him. There were many ways, but picking one was the challenge. There was a pause before what could qualify for a response. There was no point in speaking. Slowly, the woman's lips curled into a soft smile after drawing a conclusion. All in the form of the simple shrug of her shoulders. But now, she was curious as to why he would ask such a question. Eyes plagued with curiosity slowly shifted their gaze over an expectant gleam in both the strawberry and ebony hues. Her hand slowly lifted upwards, opening her palm towards him facing upwards. The gentle tip of her head was to signal her own curiosity, intending to return the question.
She didn't usher a single word, but expression was that of a confident smirk under the shadows of her bangs. She wanted to see his reaction, she wanted to hear his response. Little did she know, she was speaking to one of the admins of team Galactic.
Even if she knew, she probably wouldn't care. She wanted answers, and she expected to be entertained by returned answer. If he could get her to talk, she'd gladly give him her reason for giving such an unsatisfactory answer assuming he would pursue it.
[attr="class","LastCross"]e waits for words but recieves none, he's of the mind the woman has chosen to ignore such a strange quesion coming from a man even stranger, but in seconds time he's proven wrong the woman thinking over a response before finally her answer comes in the form of a shrug. It seems she wants his response, it's not something he's ever hidden.
"Once upon a time, I think this world must have been beautiful. Looking at it now, I can only call it a disgrace, not even a shadow of its former beauty." He pauses for a moment sliding his hands into his jacket pocket. " It's a place disorder and cruelty. A world where justice is decided by a flawed majority that's lost itself to the corrupt." His eyes once again focus on the legendary pokemon before them a certain hardness hidden in the gold as he continues on. "It's a world were the bright fall, and the interesting are shunned. Where true beauty is shamed and common sense is guided only by distrust and hatred."
The passion when he speaks is hidden beneath a layer of neutrality hints of it appearing here and there glancing at the woman every so often the fire in his eyes unmistakable. "A world where people aren't judged by their appearance regardless of how normal or different they appear to be to the individual eye. He gives special note to the woman as he stops for now leaning back on the bench. It's now that the bird who'd guided him decides to land on one of the stone Dialga's spikes. A number of trainers and citizens alike are unnerved by the massive bird Staraptor often stayed away from cities and were known to be savage territorial fighters. This Staraptor in particular didn't seem to be concerned with the stares of the masses instead choosing to relax on the statue glancing at her master every so often.
"That being said, hating the world isn't enough." He knows this better than any, how many nights had he spent in his youth cursing this world, how many morning had he woken cursed to live a life that had taken everything from him? "I'm sure those special eyes of yours have revealed a number of nonsensical truths in this world. The disdain and fear of difference that consumes people when they see those eyes of yours, why?" Perhaps he's spoken too much or perhaps there's something in the air that has the Admin sharing more than he normally cared to. "It's these notions and paradoxical concepts embedded within the hearts and minds of people whether they came from fear, greed or something else entirely that ruined a once beautiful world."
"That answer is sufficient enough. Do you disagree?"
Many people would expect that one who would loathe the world as it is now, a monster of sorts. A lunatic, a psychopath. Label them with the intention to avoid then, force them into solitude. Unfortunately, that was something that Olivia Kirkwood had been exposed to. His answer intrigued her. The sound of his voice, the gleam in his burnt amber eyes, and most importantly; the content those words held. Her expression was ever-changing, barely fazed by such a passionate answer and yet she was interested. Good at keeping a solid poker face when needed, because you never know when it might come in handy.
They had similar views on society in general. Where the blinded and ignorant are led astray to follow the majority's views. Things such as 'morals' and 'ethics'.. Were they what humans always thought to have known, or was it something driven into their heads after years and years of evolution? Like pokemon, humans originally followed their instinct. This type of conversation could easily bring up the question 'what is free will?', and she could debate about it all day if she so pleased. But for now, she found it to be more entertaining to listen to his so very passionate explanation. My, he has put some thought into this hasn't he? She could tell that he was directing some thoughts towards her, something that piked her interest. He had a way with words, that much was obvious. Clearly, he wasn't some ignorant fool as his words made complete and perfect sense.
He was interesting.
Did she wish to speak? Perhaps she did. This was one of the few things that could grab her attention for long spans of time, and so she finally decided that this man would be able to understand. The answer was sufficient, it was more than so. Much as she despised this world with a burning hatred, one can say she also cared about it if you were to look at it from the other end. This man.. Sounded as though he were no different. Easily, by saying that the world was once beautiful. Her lush peach lips parted, as though she were about to say something. "Rather than saying you do not care for it, the appropriate question would be do you care for it as it is now." Her voice wasn't much of a soprano, and held a slightly southern accent. Ironically enough, seeing where she was born to begin with. It was faint, but one could easily distinguish it if their ears were good enough.
"Listen, love. I care not for the world as it is now, but by saying that I hate is the same as saying I care for it's current state." She paused on her words, directing those dual-coloured eyes to snap into contact with the amber that stood out quite vividly on his darker complex. "Am I wrong?"
[attr="class","LastCross"]h, so she does speak. Aster listens quietly as the woman offers her own commentary concerning the question. There's a certain tune to her voice that's lulling, he doesn't care enough to tell exactly what it was, but it's something he can appreciate. Any idea that she could have simply been shy or meek in the silence past is quickly dismissed as she ends her line of thought speaking to him so colloquially. He sits up now leaning forward and turning to meet the girl eye-to-eye once again her character drawing something out him, It could have been a purely physical interest, but he knows it's something more that's drawing him in. Now that she cared to talk the Admin would wouldn't retreat refusing to look away from those exquisite eyes of hers accepting her differences in full. "Clever girl. Still even that old world full of that endless beauty was still flawed."
If she'd spoken to him a year ago he would have agreed whole heartedly, but his aspirations had long since evolved past that. "There's no question that the world at one point in time was a utopia, but still it fell. Regardless of the reason human or otherwise, the fact that the paradise fell meant it wasn't impregnable it was subject to weakness." The drive in his tone borders on dangerous as the dark-skinned man shuffles through his memories. Months spent forming theories and writing theses in an attempt to figure out what exactly it was he needed to do, to figure out what exactly it was he wanted. The answer he'd found at the end of his toils seemed so all too obvious.
"By no means are you wrong, but this world still has the resources to make something...more." There's desire in his voice. Desire for what? It could have been a number of things. Perhaps it was the girl perfectly symmetrical with opinions her knew mirrored his own; perhaps it was desire for this world as whole; something that was by no means perfect but he could make livable, or perhaps it was something more entirely.
As the birds chirp in the distance people continue to move throughout their imperfect lives meandering until death would one day claim them. Truly, there was no purpose in such an existence. People knew this still they hurt and maimed each other disrespect prevalent in all aspects of their lives. No one was immune to the infection that was humanity the virus of the human soul ran deep in all things, but there were qualities embedded in humanity that he could gleam. There were just aspects of the human that needed to be removed just as there were aspects of that once beautiful world that needed to be fortified. Finding the weaknesses in the various structures of life was simple, any philosopher could and most had. But having the power to correct these errors in this continuity that was their existence that was difficult.
"Tell me what does your ideal world look like." His gaze remains focused on her all the while, no longer is it a question but a demand.
Olivia Kirkwood was a silent one. She was a tetris to many, and very few understood what was going on in mind.
Even fewer was able to catch her attention for longer than 3 seconds, especially if she didn't find fun in watching their reactions. Much like how she had no problem up and leaving after her own home failed to supply her the reactions she so craved. It was comparable to a drug, and it would also be unbelievably hypocritical of her to say she hated the world for how greedy humans beings could be. Wasn't every human greedy? It mattered not how much one would deny any signs of selfishness, because it's weaved into a human's instinct. It stems from it, from what she has witnessed. Though Team Galactic wanted a new world to be rid of the ailed one - a noble motive indeed - she herself found it hypocritical of them. In the end, it just sounded they wanted a world where they would be the rulers.
But absolute power admittedly appealed to her, even if it weren't her original intention. So long as she could witness reactions, who cares?
That curious gleam in her eyes never left, her attention was captured. And so, she was intent on listening to what he had to say so long as he piked her interest "Now if we were to bout about what beauty was.. If I recall, one wise man said that humans imitated nature itself. Another man claimed that it was humans that added to it to make it beautiful. What would you classify as beautiful?" Her mind was fixated on this conversation and while there were many ways of going about this, she chose that it would be best to be direct.Olivia absolutely loved this type of conversation. She adored it. possibly a bit too much for her own good. However, there was no way in hell that she would be passing up an opportunity with someone who she could potentially share her thoughts with. Someone who was actually on a similar page as herself.
There was truth in his words - words that she couldn't possibly deny. On the other hand, not once had she thought of the world as 'beautiful'. Perhaps it was at one point, but Arceus and Mew clearly wished for otherwise the moment humans began roaming around the earth. Intelligence was a blessing, but at the same time, too much causes people to strive for more and of course, that can get far out of hand.
She shifted her body to a more comfortable position on the bench, leg crossed over the other whilst both hands were cupped over the top of her parasol's handle. While also listening to the man, she was unconsciously listening to her surroundings as well. As attentive as she was, this by no means that her other senses were dulled. When the question - or demand - regarding her ideal world, the woman once again fell silent to ponder over such a thought. An ideal world.. Did she have one?
Peach lips curled into a small smile, drawing to her conclusion all with the gentle shake of her head. "One without humanity."
How would he react, she wondered? While partially continuing this conversation for the sake of entertaining herself, she was also fairly passionate about this topic. More so than her lax demeanour gave off. "Yourself?"
[attr="class","LastCross"]his woman continued to entertain him.
Victoria was a being of power, through her displays and opinions regarding control she strengthens his mind Athena was a being of wisdom through her knowledge of the body and her skill in the sciences she strengthens his body And now there was a third, Olivia. The girl who wished for a world without humanity her opinions and conversation would strengthen his spirit.
She first transitions into beauty a topic he's thought about significantly less but wasn't unrelated to his field of work. There was a time in which the world he wished to create was governed by his idea of beauty alone, perhaps it was one he'd still create if the opportunity came. That being said all secondary projects were just that, secondary. "It's a bit cliched, but I do believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are certain things that are objectively beautiful I suppose. Evolution for one is something most find beautiful both physically and what it means. The sunrise and the sunset are beautiful in that they are finite. There's also beauty in the beginning and in the end that can't be denied." He speaks with a certain finality moving closer to the girl now truly analyzing, attempting yo pierce through the woman all in attempt to figure out what made her tick. "If you're asking me subjectively I believe control is beautiful as is power. But what I find most beautiful he'd raise a hand to her cheek cool fingers grazing her chin." A bit forward entirely, but Aster while he didn't care much for emotion recognized them. He saw it more as a science than anything else, and so he'd treated urges and emotions as such, since 'her' disappearance. He tilts his head ever so carefully toward the girl perhaps moving uncomfortably close to elicit a reaction from his newest subject of interest. "Symmetry, there's a special beauty in that order that entices me. I believe it's what first brought me to you dear girl." And with that he moves back receding from her space.
When she reveals her ideals concerning a perfect world. for he can't help but smirk, "What is humanity? Is it the soul, but what even is that? Can you define it? can you create it? I don't think humanity needs to be destroyed, but I believe with the right tools you can edit it, explore it. and create it. Perhaps answer a question I'm sure you've asked yourself. What exactly does it mean to be human?"
Before they continue his phone vibrates in his pocket, It was the Eterna Base wondering where he was and if he found the missing grunt no doubt. He'd have been annoyed if this didn't make for a perfect stopping point.
"Just in time, Ms. Kirkwood won't be returning to base. I've decided upon a better alternative." " She'll be returning with me to Veilstone, I have plans for her." " You're dismissed."
He' lift himself from the bench his eyes focused on the legendary statues as he stands tall upon his movement, The massive staraptor would fly at the man's feet.
"I believe that's enough for one day Ms. Kirkwood." He turns halfway now eyes once again focused on her the grin she'd seen spread across his face gone, now only a look of pure neutrality remains. "Greetings are in order I suppose, Galactic admin, Aster. A pleasure." His voice would become distant now as turned to the woman a final time his identity revealed in all.
If you have questions, if you're curious, then follow me. Learn about the world I will create, and become mine." Aster wouldn't beat around the bush he wanted to make Olivia Kirkwood the woman who saw the world in a similar light his just as he'd wanted the other two. She was special and for more than just those eyes that seemed to look through everything they fell upon. No there was something to her person something that held his curiosity He'd seen glimmers of it over the course of their conversation, and now he wanted to claim her for his own.
She's always been in Eterna. Always, being a couple of weeks. Her first few days had been fun, kept her entertained at least, but the work in Eterna was slow. All there was to this area was researching on the olden days. While she was intrigued with certain parts of history, the majority of it just bored her to near death.
He gave her his own opinion on beauty, something that she had paid some attention to in the past. If we are to shape a beautiful world, it would best be to grasp the meaning of 'beautiful' first. Was it nature itself? Or was it to be an imitation of nature? Sure, it was all in the eye of the beholder.. But that's all there was to it. One could have the most morbid sense of beauty on the entire damned earth. Even then, she couldn't deny what he was saying. All emotional and experience ties with certain objects or scenes ignored, things such as a 'beginning and an end', along with more scientific things would be considered 'beautiful' in it's own subjective way.
The man was moving closer to her. Though many would have found the sudden closing gap unnerving, Olivia herself didn't very much move an inch. Even through all this, her expression was ever changing - a calm, lax smile that could easily be identified as a smirk. If she were thrown off by such acts such as these, how would she entertain herself hmn? Affection was foreign feeling to her, assuming that she had felt it at all. While there was one woman who she thought to be an exception.. Her mind was playing tricks on her so to speak. That would explain why his more intimate actions failed to faze her.
He was toying with the nest of territorial Beedrill.
However, this man seemed not to know of the impending difficulties he would face when it came to this woman in particular. She knew what he was searching for by getting so close; he wanted a reaction. Olivia wasn't a clueless fool, possibly playing nearly every trick in the book to evoke a reaction in countless people all just to analyze their psychology. This man was.. In simple terms, 'smooth'. His voice, actions, even his words were all on point as though rehearsed. The charisma he radiated would have been nearly overwhelming, had her own arrogance and cocky attitude not countered it.
Then he moved away, asking her about humans. What it meant to be human. A wonderful question, one of the many that she failed to answer. Ironic, because she was the one who spent the majority of her life observing countless attitudes in both pokemon and humans. Everywhere she went, she was quietly watching others. Hell, call her a stalker if you'd like, but it was all for the sake of learning.
"What indeed.." She wondered, purposely trailing off on her own. It was a question to ponder for another time, as it seems that the man received a phone call. He knew her last name, something that actually put a hint of surprise in her expression. That's the most he would be getting from her, the barely noticeable widening of her Ebony/Strawberry eyes. Those nest words however, made things all the more clear. The woman wasn't surprised that the base would be looking for their stray grunt, though to be relocated..
Huh. Looks like she was going to have something to write after all. Funny how that worked. She goes slacking off and she gets relocated; charming.
Introducing himself as Aster, an Admin, most would have grovelled at his feet. At least, those from the Eterna branch would be more than pleased to know they would be returning with him. On the other hand.. Olivia wasn't very ahem.. easy so to say. The woman stood upwards, bowing as her way of being polite. "Likewise. Assuming you already know my name however.. Olivia Kirkwood." Introductions were dealt with.
Now those next few words sounded like a challenge to her. Olivia had never been chained to one place. She had the terrible habit of jumping one place to the next, with Team Galactic being the only exception. But to say that she was to become his.. Either it was a bold statement, or one that oozed over-confidence. Her mind registered it as a challenge of sorts. "Then let us play a little game, shall we?" She pressed the parasol down on the area between her feet, leaning forwards on the hilt with a smirk on her face. "Keep me interested for a week, doll, and things will go as smoothly as knife to butter." No, she wasn't kidding. No hidden strings attached. Literally all he had to do was keep her attentive for a week and she would work with him without question.
"Of course, should you fail, I won't be as cooperative, love." With that playful gleam in her eyes there was seriousness in her voice. He shouldn't expect her to stick around for longer than a week if she grew bored. "Fair?"
[attr="class","LastCross"]udicous was the only way to describe her challenge. Keep this woman entertained for 168 hours was simply insane, He was an Admin for arguably to most notorious criminal organization in the region. There was business to attend to always, a coup to finish preparing fo,r training to be done and missions to accomplish. There was no way he could bring the woman everywhere with him. The man didn't sleep nearly enough as is. Still he's not one to deny a challenge when the challenger had something he wished to acquire. And this was indeed a chance to delve into what exactly this spark of hers was.
"I must be getting soft if my subordinates are becoming so brazen." He'd sigh tilting his head irises reading the woman as he thought of terms for the challenge. "Seeing as I have an organization to help run, I don't believe I can devote 168 hours of my time to you alone, however, for the next 7 days you'll be allowed to venture out with me as I perform some of my more active duties. You'll be working directly under me so that accounts for at least 35 hours or so. Seeing as you'll be in Veilstone you'll be staying in my domicile."
The man prepares his Staraptor for flight as he continues planning for this little event of sorts. There were a number of things he'd have to prepare, Adrien was far better when it came to things of this nature and even he was shown to be subpar. He also doubted those the one-eyed admin brought under his wing were quite as eccentric as Aster's own choice. Still, she was who challenged him, and he'd chosen her. "My second addendum, I doubt you'll listen to everything I say if and when I order it, and so I'm allowed 7 absolute orders over the course of the week." This rule was set strictly for her safety. Aster dealt with dangerous people and dangerous situations daily, often simultaneously and so when the time came he'd need her to follow instructions. "My third and final addendum those times that you're not with me, you don't shirk your work or cause problems for other employees. If you have an urge out of boredom notify me and I'll take care of it."
With his conditions set, he'd eye the woman once again stepping forward invading her personal space once more his tone remaining neutral even now. "Do you accept, these terms Olivia?"
Of course, she could have made it a month. But that would take far, far too long. She also never intended for it to be 24/7, but it would appear as though he took it as such. No matter, anything float her boat.
While even then, he had a few conditions that she would have to comply to. While part of her wasn't happy to hear this.. It couldn't be helped. He was a busy man, after all. But of course, Olivia was always as snarky and arrogant since she was a kid. She could live with 5 hours a day working under him, because that was just enough time to keep her entertained. It actually touched her seeing how he was going to accept this challenge, and actually try to keep his word. Actually, it made things all the more easier for this duel-coloured woman. "5 hours is more than enough, so long as you can keep me interested in that time." He was up against the girl who lost interest in literally 5-20 seconds, he'd have to keep her pretty busy if he even so much hoped that she wouldn't be sneaking on off.
When it came to his second condition, she almost felt offended. Gasp, her not following orders? What is this nonsense he was spouting? While she wasn't attentive, she'd never ignore an order from the admin. Not even she was that foolish, but those conditions were of no problem to her. Only added to this little game of theirs. She hated playing these games, because at some point, they get boring and she finally views it as a waste of time. That's.. Probably the last thing he would want. Perhaps she was being a bit too unfair? He was a very busy man after all. Even so.. Much as she would like to lighten his load, her curiosity got the better of her. "You wound me.. To assume such a thing." Her tone had a hint of sarcasm in it, but he wouldn't have placed such a condition all willy nilly. "Yes, and the next?"
His final condition involved her not skipping out on her jobs or messing with the others. Though this condition was perhaps the one that caused a sudden shock of irritation to flow through her in the form of a clutching hand over the parasol, her nerves were calmed just as quickly. She could comply.. Hopefully. He said to call him if she got bored, so he could prepare himself to be called. Clearly, she wasn't going to make things easy for him. Not that easy to win oh dear Aster. His figure approached her yet again, needing to tilt her head upwards with less a straight face, although that layer of excitement sparked within the woman's eyes. "I accept your terms. If it makes things easier.. We start next week. I would assume that you need time to organize yourself, yes?" She was playful and scheming, yes, but she wasn't going to let him take something like this up without using some time to organize himself. Though.. She was curious as to when she was starting in Veilstone.
"Yes, before I forget. When do I start in Veilstone, hm?"
[attr="class","LastCross"]er incredulousness wasn't as much expected as it was vaguely irking, concerning his second rule. However her tone changed upon hearing the third, It was a gamble, the best case scenario he wins and she agrees to becoming his it gave him more time to study and figure out what it was about the woman that attracted him in the first place. If he lost the man simply had a rogue grunt to deal with, she hadn't really stated much else. She was one who seemed to thrive on entertainment, enjoyable experiences. After being subjected to the negative her entire life he could understand how this persona came to be. But there was more to it than a simple thrill seeker. His first question how deep did it go. She enjoyed speaking of philosophy and ideals it was obvious she spent much time internalizing and searching for answers on her own this spoke much of another of the woman's layers.
When all is said is done she accepts even with his terms and conditions confident she'll be able to win. She plans on starting the bet next week, Aster had something else in mind entirely. "You start tomorrow. We'll arrive in Veilstone by sundown if we depart now." Perhaps he's a bit too matter-of-fact in his tone as he prepares to embark off the massive bird. It may have been complicated working the logistics out, but he'd done harder work. Where he couldn't make it Adrien would take over. He'd climb onto Nineteen the massive would be slightly slower but carrying a second passenger wasn't a problem for the bird pokemon.
"Do you have qualms starting so soon." Striking the enemy when they were unprepared was a rule in all forms of combat whether it was in war, or in wagers.
He was someone she actually had trouble reading. Something she did pick up however, was that he knew his fair share of philosophy. Hell, he actually shared the interest with her. In retrospect.. She wasn't expecting much. Honestly, she really wasn't. There wasn't a single human being who was able to keep her chained down for more than a few days, with the exception of her own parents. Ahem. Parent.
It was mandatory. She had to submit some sort of background information before joining Team Galactic. While she did add that she hailed from Snowpoint, that was most likely it. Her biography claimed that she lived a normal life, before setting out on a journey like every other starry eyed teen. Could have sworn that she almost spat in disdain while explaining it too. But, she prided over her ability to keep a poker face.
He was hard to read, but that just made things more interesting for the time being. It'd be far too boring if he were an open book, but she had a feeling that even if he were one, the words would be in a dialect that she fails to comprehend. Hearing that she would be starting tomorrow.. It actually did surprise her quite a bit. Hmm.. Was he just over confident? Or did he want to get it over with quickly? She wanted to know. Olivia was a curious, curious woman. Always had, always will be; curiosity had yet to kill this cat. She snapped out of her bewildered state of mind the moment he climbed onto the Staraptor, and she decided that it was enough of standing around like a flabbergasted idiot. "I couldn't ask for a better date."
The woman shortened the runner that the parasol stretched at, causing the ribs to fold inwards and shorten the canopy. It had shorted up to perhaps the length of her thigh, and she clipped it right onto the clip of her belt. Olivia made haste to mount herself behind him, but part of her actually did show some form of concern for the Staraptor. "Are you alright, love? I would think that you wouldn't have to carry more than one person most of the time." There was actually a hint of worry in her tone, eyes lowering to the soft feathers of the bird. The tips of her gloved fingers ran across the side of it, or, at least where she could reach.
