“Yo pops! Ya’ ready?”
Byron smirked, slamming his shovel into the ground before stepping onto the pedestal around a large arena littered with rocks and iron girders.
“Heh, you got an attitude kid. Let me smack that out of ya! Go Bronzor!”
The small pokemon appeared in a flash of red, hovering above the ground as it watched Orvis with creepy yellow eyes. The challenger then sent out his pokemon, Vulcan the heatmor. It slammed his claws into the ground, scorching the earth around him as a sign of intimidation and power. Let’s just hope he can hold his own.
Bronzor began the fight with a pulse of psychic energy, the extrasensory attack knocking Heatmor off balance before he was shot with flash cannon.
“Use lick then incinerate!”
Heatmor charged forwards, his fiery tongue turning a hue of grey and purple as the ghostly flames lapped across Bronzor, paralysing it. Now close up, Vulcan released intense flames from his mouth and tail, blasting Bronzor back to the ground.
“Quick Bronzor! Use flash cannon and hypnosis!”
As soon as the light gathered in front of it, it quickly dissipated from the paralysis. But the hypnosis was quick to replace it, putting Vulcan to sleep. Orvis quickly withdrew Vulcan and sent out Chaac instead.
“Okay Chaac, use sunny day and fire blast!”
The castform’s body shone red before changing form as sunny rays shone down from the ceiling, fire then swirled around him like the moon orbiting the earth before it cascaded towards Bronzor. The first pokemon was knocked out cold.
In the bronzor’s place was a giant Steelix, glaring down at Castform with its sharp teeth and menacing eyes.
“Sandstorm and dragon breath, Steelix.”
Castform was quickly changed back to a normal type after the sunny rays had vanished and an annoying sandstorm was kicked up, causing Orvis to cover his eyes and occasionally spit out the odd mouthful of sand. Then the dragon breath roared towards Chaac.
“Bleugh! No need to get me involved in the sand storm! Chaac, use rainy day followed by hydro pump!”
And just like that, the sand vanished and a swirling mas of black cloud formed as rain started to fall. All the droplets of rain started being drawn to Castform, forming an orb of water before growing to the size of a large boulder.
“Cast… FORM!”
The water shot forwards, slamming against Steelix and shoving her to the ground. Byron scowled, holding out his hand as he shouted the next commands. Steelix firstly used Gyro Ball, clamping onto his tail before spinning round like a buzzsaw, knocking Chaac against a boulder. It then charged towards him with icy fangs, but this was an easy one to predict.
“Chaac! Leap left and use Hydro Pump again!”
The water hurt Steelix greatly, her body slumped against the ground before being sent back to Byron.
“I must say, that Castform of yours is definitely a surprise. Okay Bastiodon, you’re up!”
Orvis gulped at the sight of the colossal fossil pokemon, shuffling around nervously. Damnit, he didn’t even know it’s typing. He knew it would have to at least be a steel type, but was that it? What were its weaknesses?
The pokemon used iron defence followed by ancient power, glowing boulders slamming against Chaac like a bunch of bullets. With the rain still pouring down, Orvis knew he had to stick with the only move he knew would be useful.
“Hydro pump! Keep using it!”
The first hydro pump hit perfectly, the second one however was counteracted with the Bastiodon’s flash cannon. Chaac was no out in the open and was knocked out briefly after by another ancient power.
“Don’t worry Chaac, you were amazing!”
Throwing the next pokeball, Orvis sent out Aella the rage filled corsola. With rain pouring down on her, the bubble beam attack should do some bonus damage. Orvis had even finished the sentence before Aella used bubble beam, the bullet-like bubbles pummelling against Bastiodon’s hard head. Grunting and stumbling from side to side, the pokemon fell to its knees. Regretfully, Byron held out his pokeball and withdrew his last pokemon.
“Well… It make’s sense why my Son spoke so highly of you.”
