HEY Don't be surprised that's what I do

PARTY
“Okay, listen up!”
A high ranking galactic member wearing a dark uniform marched in front of the grunts. He was tall, middle aged and quite stocky, his face was covered in a few scars and burns which made the guy rather intimidating. Everyone was stood outside, the HQ situated behind them as they all gazed out towards the forest.
“You’ve all been called here today because we want to see progress in your skills. It’s not just about how strong your pokemon is, but also how strong you are. This test is an obstacle course, starting from the edge of the forest all the way to the end where a big red flag is positioned. The first person to reach the flag wins, but you and your pokemon must get there together.”
With a crack of his knuckles, he’d approach a few of the grunts about to take part.
“The rules are simple! You may select one pokemon from your team to help you along the way. You can push, shove bite and kick the other participants all you like, just no long term injury and of course no deaths. Clear?!”
---
“Oh shit man, this is gonna be so much fun!”
Eretria’s signature smile came creeping across her face, it was incredibly unnerving and made most people think she was some kind of monster. Her outfit was already suited for this kind of stuff, plus her previous training that her Daddy makes her do should help her for this obstacle course. But now she had to pick her pokemon and of course she went with her favourite little pokemon, Trixie.
Clicking her pokeball, she would send out her Noibat, she fluttered around her making cute noises and adorable little faces before landing softly on her shoulder.
“Okay puddin’, we gonna thrash the others yeah? Just don’t hurt ‘em too much.”
With a cheeky wink, Eretria would position herself at the starting line, bending down as she prepared herself to sprint.
[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine wondered why the leaders were holding such a large meeting outside the Galactic HQ. It was a sea of Team Galactic members, and he wondered why he, a new recruit, had been called. Nervously, he fingered the pokeballs attached to his hip, ready for anything.[break][break] A figure approached the group and Caine quickly saw that he wore the darker colors of one of the higher-ups. Immediately, he stood at attention, ready to listen to the man's orders. Other members snickered at Caine's straight posture and rigidity - no doubt they didn't care about rank as much as Caine did.[break][break] Caine listened with astonishment as the scarred man explained that they'd been gathered to show off their skills in some brutal kind of race. Kicking and biting to win? It sounded far too...vicious and barbaric. It was not Caine's style. But there was no doubt he'd do anything he could to prove his worth. It was a great opportunity.[break][break] His mind whirled as he tried to formulate a game plan. He'd always been one to strategize, and forethought usually proved itself in the long run. He probably wasn't wearing the best kind of clothing for a run through the woods, but he at least had on comfortable jeans and a black hoodie. It would make him less visible.[break][break] With slight thought, he grabbed one pokeball and released the pokemon hidden within. "Merlin, you ready for this?" he asked. The Aron's eye formed a crescent-like smile and Merlin grunted with agreement.[break][break] Caine stepped towards the starting line and took a deep breath. "Okay. Let's do this."

Scarlette had just been given the rank of grunt, which meant she was just a little bit better than the recruits that were surrounding her. It seemed a little bit insulting for her to be called in to participate in an obstacle course event when she herself was no longer a recruit. But, if it meant more experience and more recognition, she was willing to do anything.
At the moment, she found herself standing next to some shrimpy blonde haired boy, who honestly, to her, did not seem that inclined. She could see him fidgeting with his belt, as if unsure about which Pokemon to choose. Scarlette already knew, it wasn't that hard of a decision. As soon as the boss started talking, Scarlette's attention drew back to the task as present. With so many young and anxious recruits, this should be a piece of cake. She wasn't some average girl picked up off the street. She had done this sort of thing before with her previous group.
Several people had already started to gather around the front, their Pokemon at the ready. Kicking and biting allowed, apparently. That would make things interesting. Perhaps this was a test to see who was truly capable of being part of team Galactic. Scarlette was determined to follow through with this. With a flash, a shadowy feathered figure appeared perched on the redhead's shoulder. Romeo preened her hair briefly, shivering with anticipation.
"Let's show em what we've got, eh? No holding back, Romeo. We can't kill anyone, but that doesn't mean we gotta be gentle." she said, winking.
Okay, well for some strange reason this guy was shouting at all the recruits, something about a event where we get test, blah blah blah.
Simply put Taylor did not want to be here, and he was going to make it known one way or another even if Luna had to start spewing some flames at people. In the midst of all the ranting and raving of this guy, Taylor managed to pick up one thing. And it was basically a free for all, aslong as nobody got seriously maimed. He could work with that, but aslong as no one got to close to him in trying to be friends.
"Cmon, Lu. Time to ravage some feathers" As the small dragon type pokemon was released from its pokeball it gave of a look of superiority, and it definately did not like the look of the annoying bat pokemon. Which was probably due to the thing flying whilst she cant. She definitely was going to put that thing to the ground making her know, that flying was not all that.
Eritrea was clearly excited and ready to go. But as everyone got into their position to take off, the ore authoritative figure would say a few last words.
"Along your way, you'll find a lot of challenges to tackle. Mud, fallen trees, rivers, walls, the list goes on and on. There is no exact way to take them on, but you must face it. Oh, and one last thing, you or your pokemon don't have to be conscious when you reach the flag, as long as you reach it."
Well, that certainly spiced things up a bit. Though Eritrea was't too sure if Trixie was capable of carrying her, perhaps the other way around if she got a little bit hurt?
"Okay! The race will begin in three, two, one!"
A gun was fired into the air, Eritrea pushed herself from the ground as she began running forwards. And of course, she wasn't afraid to play it a little dirty here and there.
"Trixie, use tailwind on me and hurricane in the middle of the track."
Wind started whipping around Eritrea like a warm blanket, practically pushing her along at a much faster speed as she ran forwards, even her feet had moments when they weren't touching the ground. Then, a hurricane was whipped up in front of the other participants, if they didn't pay attention, they'd run straight into it and fall back down.
Eritrea and Trixie on the other hand were long gone from the starting line and now inside of the forest.
[attr="class","LastCross"]esting the newest grunts and recruits was typically a duty handed over to spies or more experienced grunts. It was a system that worked with the constant influx of galactic members and kept the grunts in a similar bracket of capability, however, every so often an admin would come down in disguise to scout the more talented of the masses. Adrien had done so last time, and now it was Aster's turn to blend in with the newest group to both observe and challenge their precious recruits. Typically the darker skinned man would have shunned the duty, but with a certain event looming closer as the days passed Aster actually volunteered for the task. The prospect of gaining bright young opportunists to join his cause was something more than worthy of his time. Seeing as he wasn't exactly a grunt and his job was meant to serve as an obstacle or overseer to the event Aster chose three Pokemon to drag with him for this little excursion of sorts, that's all to say he had no intention to play by the rules. All three of his pokemon which would remain hidden in their pokeballs for now as the other galactic members prepared to start.
When the grunt in charge gives the go one of the more astute grunts decides to attack the group, a quick glance at her face reveals it to be a certain Eretria Vexus, while he knew little of the woman the last name was something he'd marked as familiar when sorting through the files, if he remembered correctly a galactic scientist or someone in the organization shared the same surname. The girl's partner pokemon, a Noibat released a storm of tornadic winds towards the masses the gale impeding the path of any who wished to follow the girl. Aster would simply watch the winds wondering how any of the other players would manage to make their way around or even counteract the attack, lest they simply waited until the storm ended.

[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine waited patiently for the man to finish his instructions. But now he felt slightly uneasy - they were setting it so that as long as you crossed the finish line, conscious or not, you'd pass. Caine wondered what the consequences were for failing...he did not want to be one of the failures.[break][break] As soon as the gunshot rang out, Caine swiped a pokeball from his belt, releasing his Aron. The pokemon emerged in a flash, emitting a low, groaning noise like a mountain would make. [break][break] "Merlin, use earthquake!" He commanded. Just as the ground began to tremble, a huge gust of wind came, forming a hurricane in the middle of the field. Wind slapped at his face as he attempted to run towards the forest, avoiding the worst of the windstorm.[break][break] Thank goodness Merlin was a sturdy little beast. The steel and rock type was not at all moved by the hurricane. To keep himself on the ground, Caine held onto the small, blunt spike on its back. "C'mon, Merlin, let's head towards the forest."[break][break][break] Merlin used Earthquake![break][break] OOC: Sounds good, wicker.

when you lie i cover it up when you hide i cover it up when you cry i cover it up
Things were going to be tricky, that was inevitable. This was a gang of tricksters, thieves, and manipulaters. Not only that, but they were all probably criminals one way or another, and not opposed to using whatever they had up their sleeves in order to win. Which was fine, especially when the race started.
Eretria up ahead had just allowed her Noibat to use hurricane, a move that slowed down a lot of people, while she sped ahead like a bolt of lightning, whisked away by the speed of her companion. It was impressive to say the least, and Scarlette was hell bent on pursuing her. Romeo had lifted off of his trainers shoulder, beating back the harsh winds with his own powerful wing attack. Albeit a bit sad and underwhelming, the two managed to break through the hurricane somewhat faster than those that had been caught off guard.
"Romeo, use mean look, stop some scaredy cats in their tracks." Scarlette suggeste, before sprinting up ahead, hopefully surpassing Caine and his Pokemon, who seemed to be rocketing up ahead with their queasy earthquake. Scarlette's small body bobbed and weaved, waiting patiently for her Pokemon to return.
The Murkrow had turned to face his opponents, before making a spooky face in the middle of what was left from the hurricane. His ghostly appearance was quite frightening if he did say so himself, and while that was hanging in suspense, the bird quickly flew back to his trainer, who was busy trying to catch up to Eretria and Caine. She had just reached the entrance to the forest, disappearing in and out of trees to try and stay out of the line of fire, which she was sure would come.
The Aron would pose a possible threat with how sturdy it was. It had run past completely unhindered by the hurricane, which meant that little to nothing would slow it down. It was just heavy, and slow enough as it was. Scaring it probably wasn't an option either. Scarlette would have to think of something else.
Romeo the Murkrow [INSOMNIA] mean look, wing attack, sucker punch, feint attack used wing attack to suppress the hurricane, followed by mean look to hopefully slow down the other participants
On second thought, lets just watch how the race planned out. Technically it was just an induction, but it did seem odd that out of everyone there minus the guy that went on and on about the induction, one person had not yet set out their pokemon, after being specifically told that we can use our pokemon to hinder each others progress, whether his suspicions were true, it mattered not as he would just observe for the time being.
"We'll get them soon Lu'" as he bent down at tried to calm down the fuming little dragon. Not only was there 1 pokemon that could fly but two, and that rubber her the wrong way. It did not help that she'd try to seriously maim them so they wont fly anytime soon, but by the by she was angry. Getting swept off her feet up that hurricane only to then get knocked down by the earthquake. These are some big moves coming from small pokemon, but Luna will have her time to shine. Like the moon in the night sky, shining brighter than all the little specks of light surrounding it.
As every participant had run to the forest, he had 2 options burn the forest down with everyone inside, or begin to make his move. Cogs started turning as the idea factory begun to spew out crazy theories on how he could take down each and everyone of those pokemon that he could see right now. His plan, he made it. And now it was time to start phase 1. Aron. The little steal type could easily be classified as the hardest pokemon to deal with at this moment and given its typing, it resist every type of attack it could be thrown at it by the others. Sure in the long run it'd help to have it there to get rid of the pesky flying types, but it would be better for everyone to dispose of it as soon as possible. 2 Idea's 1 plan. It should have enough variables for it to work, lets just hope for its sake that it's trainer will listen to Taylor. He dont care about making friends and enemies could just cause him to prove his worth.
He entered the forest with everyone else, with them ahead but its only a matter of time before him and Luna make their move.

HEY Don't be surprised that's what I do
I slay, and I mean to boo, Too fly for this
PARTY
Wind rushed around her, the sound flowing past her ears making all the other sounds behind her start to fade out, including the roaring hurricane. Although, Eretria didn’t look back, she didn’t see the murkrow counteract the winds but was in fact slightly knocked off course by the earthquake. Luckily she was right near the edge, but it caused it to stumble and trip. However, the trip turned into a roll which then turned into a leap.
Eretria leapt forwards from the ground, her jump a little higher than usual due to the tailwind on her and Noibat. Eretria leapt over a fallen log before jumping back onto the soil. This was going to be a pain to get through at the speeds she was going at.
She ran through twigs, thorny bushes scratching at her skin as she barraged through the forest like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately for her it was hard to fully stop, she just had to keep weaving in and out, ducking under low hanging branches.
“Keep up Trixie!”
Then she had an idea. All around her there were rocks, stones, loose branches and twigs cluttering the forest floor. It would be a shame if they were to start flying around everywhere…
“Hehehe, hey sugar, whip up another little hurricane would ya?”
The noibat let out an excited squeal, wind starting to slam into the ground before spiralling upwards throughout the forest path. WIthin a matter of seconds, branches were flying around, stones were kicked up and leaves from trees would fill the air like snow.
Eretria was quite literally leaving a trail of disaster in her wake. But in the distance, she saw something else - it looked like the ground had become more muddier, hopefully it wouldn’t be too much of a pain when she got there.
Trixie was weaving in and out of all the trees, ducking and diving as she stayed flying next to her owner. Trixie would occasionally glance behind her, watching as the others followed them. For a moment she thought they'd catch up, but then Eretria had a great plan.
Wind swirled around her like a cocoon before being unleashed all around her throughout the forest. Branches lashed up, leaves made it hard to see but luckily this was all happening behind them.
For Trixie and Eretria, the road ahead was clear for them. For everyone else behind, they'd have to take extra care not to be bruised by flying rocks and navigate their way through the leaves.
[attr="class","LastCross"] It was clever a time ago, but using the same tactic twice, no Aster wouldn't allow that. Amidst the masses, he'd let a single pokeball drop hidden in the crowd whispering to the ball before the pokemon appeared in all its splendor. "Remove the hurricane." In a burst of light, a new flying type would appear shooting up into the sky, before coating itself in a blue aura. The Sinnoh native bird wasted no time forcing itself through the hurricane the power of the Brave Bird dispersing the newly formed hurricane just as quickly as it appeared. The Staraptor following the removal of the turbulent attack would then remain idle its eyes glaring down at the smaller Noibat. If the dragon pokemon decided to attack then Nineteen would counter accordingly, but if the pokemon and her trainer chose to retreat Staraptor wasn't ordered to pursue.
With the end of the hurricane, the foliage it'd thrown around prior would begin to fall and crash against the forest floor. While various galactic recruits and grunts entered the forest path Aster would remain behind keeping his head down. Only when all the grunts had passed Aster would begin his own strategy. He'd nod at nineteen giving the sign for the flying type to disappear higher in the skies, for now at least. The pokemon would continue to impede the grunts later down the line, for now, however, the pokemon would remain on standby.
Aster would then drop a second pokeball, but before the flash of light revealed what exactly appeared from the ball both Aster and the pokemon would vanish entirely leaving no trace of his presence.
Uses brave bird to cancel out the hurricane.

[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine gritted his teeth as he watched the black-haired, scantily dressed woman speed ahead, leaving another hurricane in her wake. Merlin had no moves that could speed him up, and he plodded rather slowly. Perhaps, in a race of speed, he should have chosen a different pokemon. However, he had made his choice based on trust, and he would trust his pokemon to bring him through - as safe as possible.[break][break] He was about to call out a command when a large avian shot into the air, diving straight into the hurricane. Within seconds, the howling winds were dissipated and all was calm. Caine grinned, silently thanking the one who had nullified the air currents. Now, for his next move: He'd impede the people who were currently behind him.[break][break] "Merlin, use Stone Edge!" Caine called. The small Aron turned and roared defiantly. Chunks of rock and ground rose up from before it, then fell with a mighty smash onto the ground, creating a huge, hulking mound of earth and stone. As Caine quickly scanned the area, he noticed that the attack had caught several poekmon and their masters under the rubble.[break][break] He didn't care. He had to keep moving. Caine focused his sights on the forest, where he quickly encountered dozens of fallen logs and trees. He frowned as he thought of his Charmander, who could have easily razed them down, but he supposed Merlin could deal with the obstacles quickly. "Iron head," he ordered, pointing at the forest path that was littered with logs. The Aron's head shone as it was reinforced to be hard as steel. Then, the pokemon simply ran through each of the logs, splintering the trees and chopping them in half as it charged through them. Caine glanced over his shoulder quickly before running to catch up with his trusty pokemon.[break][break][break] [break] Merlin used Stone Edge![break][break] Merlin used Iron Head!

The earthquake from before had left great big marks in the ground, the footing had become uneven, and Scarlette witnessed Eretria lose her footing. Miraculously, though, she had pulled out of her roll and back onto her feet. Her Noibat's tailwind though was becoming irritating. She was gaining ground quickly, and it made Scarlette feel as though she had lead feet.
As she lifted her head, she made note of yet another hurricane, tearing branches off the trees in the forest, and whipping stones and debris everywhere. Scarlette braced herself, lifting her arms as bits of stone and twigs ripped at her face and forearms. Thankfully nothing severe, but irritating enough. Fortunately, some dark and strange presence soon appeared in the forest, and Romeo, looking to protect Scarlette from further harm, stood in front of the small redhead. The Staraptor was no threat it seemed, as its glowing body burst through the hurricane and stopped it.
The two took off again, quickly putting aside the strange occurrence. It meant they had that much more time on their side, no longer being hindered by the hurricane again. Unfortunately, there was about to be something new coming into the mix. Caine's Aron had begun to throw stones, literally. Unaware of this in her blood boiling concentration and fury, Scarlette felt claws dig into her back at the last moment before she ran face first into one of the steel type Pokemon's stone hedge barriers. Behind her, several other participants had fallen victim, and were even trapped underneath.
She had escaped with a bloody, perhaps even broken nose, but was otherwise fine. Romeo had slowed her enough to have saved her. The Murkrow had settled onto her shoulder, concern written on his face as she dabbed at her nose. Scarlette made use of some of the leaves nearby, hoping that they weren't poisonous, and proceeded to shove them up her nose to prevent any more bleeding. "I'm fine, Romeo. But we're falling behind. Try and do something about that Noibat and its speed." she said.
Caine and his partner had just passed the two, quickly picking up speed with the Aron's iron head attack, breaking everything in their path to make the way clear. This would likely also give leeway to anyone behind him. Scarlette quickly gathered herself once again, as Romeo sped off to try and corner the Noibat.
Up ahead there appeared to be a field of mud, and Scarlette seemed frustrated for the time being, but continued to race after the other participants that were currently ahead of her.
Romeo the Murkrow [INSOMNIA] mean look, wing attack, sucker punch, feint attack currently chasing eretria's noibat, keeping out of sight
Suspicsions rung true as a staraptor emerged from no where and destroyed the hurricane. It was definately no wild pokemon and did raise questions in Taylor's mind, but he just could not be bothered to figure it out anymore.
Looking down at the little dragon, beside him he could see her getting restless and wanted to join in on the fray, it definately did not help that all the other pokemon were fighing amongst themselves. Taylor could do only one thing, actually participate. Luna was 1 of 2 pokemon that he loved to bits and would do anything for them, but he would not let anyone know.
"Lets go Lu'" As she said this the small dragon set of the marvellous stream of flames in coherence as she agreed and was finally getting involved.
Stick, stone, many tree branches layed scattered around on the ground through out the forest, but non of this was an issue as the duo would just jump, duck and run straight through things. Luna's rock hard head did come usefull for somethings and this was definately one of them.
The forest patch of the course was coming to an end as everyone came out and was faced by a muddy patch, looking around quite a few people were worse for wear, but still participating nevertheless. Even the suspicious guy was here, and not even a speck of dust seemed to get on his uniform.
A Mud patch? Lets do this. Without even waiting to see what the others were going to do, he got Lu to heat up the mud. Drying out the water, creating a somewhat semi hard path for Taylor to run down.
It'd be fun to see what the rest would come up with when trying to traverse the terrain.
A huge bird pokemon sped past them, glowing brightly as it had dissipated the hurricane she just made. Eretria was shit scared, was this an attack? Oh my god what if it was a wild pokemon? Knowing better than to attack a bigger pokemon, she decided the best thing to do would be to run for her life. Eretria had no idea if it was still following her or not, but she didn’t look back.
Instead, she was quickly approaching the mud. Eretria didn’t have many options apart from go straight through it. But perhaps she could use the tailwind to get a little bit further in?
“Okay Trixie! Gimme a hand!”
As she descended down a small slope in the earth, she jumped forwards, grabbing hold of Trixie’s tiny legs like a hang glider as she leapt halfway across the mud. But the landing was very bad. Trixie was unable to hold her up with her small body, and the two plummeted into the mud head first.
“Bleugh, I hate mud.”
It was only natural that a person who liked poison types disliked mud and ground type pokemon. Eretria slowly pulled herself up, it was very difficult to do with all the stickiness of the earth and water. As she started pulling herself forwards, trudging through with big strides, other people started to arrive as well. The first one to show up was the blonde guy.
He was quick to act, getting his pokemon to breathe fire on the mud to harden it to allow him to run across.
“Ugh! Trixie help me out!”
Eretria was definitely losing her cool at this point, all she needed to do was make her way to the dryer path that had just been made, but even that was proving difficult. The poor little bat did her best to pull and pull, trying to yank her out of the mud with all the strength she had, but it just wasn’t working.
For a moment Eretria thought she’d be crawling through this mud forever, but that’s when the light appeared. The noibat shone a dazzling blue and white, small specks shimmering all around her. Eretria watched in awe as the once tiny bat had evolved into a fearsome Noivern. Just like that, she was yanked out by her large claws.
“Oh my god! Yes baby!”
Eretria hopped onto the path and began to run, the now bad ass Trixie flying beside her. But they had to do something about the people up ahead.
“Trixie, use hurricane!”
The galactic member was expecting gusts of wind to go hurtling forwards, but instead, Trixie’s ears released a deafening blast – boom burst. Sound waves blasted forwards, making the mud splatter to the sides and causing various trees to crumble into splinters. Then, there was another blast of sound. The attacks were headed straight for Taylor and his little dragon.
No! Trixie couldn't let Eretria stay in this mud forever! She pulled and pulled, but no matter how much she did so, Eretria wasn't moving very fast. Trixie was so annoyed at herself, Eretria always put in every amount of effort for Trixie whenever she needed help.
But she had to do something. She just had to!
...
First it was like she was falling, then her body was cocoon in a warm light, she could feel herself changing, her wings growing and bones strengthening. This was it, she was actually evolving!
In just a matter of seconds, Eretria was yanked up onto the harder surface, tailwind giving her that extra boost as she ran ahead after Taylor. Eretria had originally asked Trixie to use hurricane but... The noivern wanted to do something a little different!
