Lets destroy each mistake that we made
There's no pride in sharing scars to prove it

Time to smash some rocks.
Orvis ran into the building, the doors swinging open as his little childish grin beamed through the gym. Roark was standing there ready, smirking underneath his orange mining helmet, lifting it up before locking eyes with Orvis.
“So, you think you’re ready to fight against my rock types huh? We’ll see about that!”
The gym leader tossed a pokeball forwards, a tough looking geodude materialised on the rocky battlefield, pounding his chest to show his strength.
“Sure I do! Come on Zephyr, let’s do this!”
Orvis too, threw a pokeball up into the air, releasing his starter pokemon Skarmory. He flew through the air before diving down and perching on top of a large boulder, squawking at Geodude.
“Geodude, use stealth rock and rock throw.”
The rock-type slammed his fist into the ground, causing large jagged stones to rise up around Skarmory’s side of the battlefield. Then, a series of rocks were hurled at Zephyr, pummelling into his side. However, this attack only made Skarmory much more faster, his armour cracking slightly as the weight was reduced and his speed increased.
“Okay Zephyr, keep using steel wing!”
The geodude’s eyes widened as the metal bird came diving down with incredible speeds, slicing his sharp metallic wings into its side before coming back around only to strike again. The geodude rolled forwards, smashing into a rock before passing out. Roark gritted his teeth, returning his pokemon before sending out a cranidos.
Orvis would also switch out his pokemon, sending out Demetria the burmy, who was quickly shocked when a few nasty rocks dug into her. She was quite small, and rather cute but hopefully she could pull her own in this fight, or at least give her some experience.
“Cranidos! Use leer and headbutt!”
The ancient pokemon charged forwards, ready to slam against Burmy.
“Quick! Use protect then use bug bite!”
Demetria, who was utterly terrified, created a dome of blue energy around her, the Cranidos’ head slamming against the barrier before it was bitten rather nastily by the bug type pokemon.
“Jump up and use headbutt, then pursuit!”
Cranidos leapt upwards into the air, diving down towards burmy with his skull and slamming it into Burmy before knocking her back with a shadowy tackle.
“Demetria!”
Battered and bruised, Demetria lay against a rock, squinting from the pain as she tried to get up. Orvis was about to withdraw her from the fight, but then...
White light filled the battlefield, blue glittery particles shining around Demetria like a cocoon of energy. Her body twisted and turned until the light faded, revealing the newly evolved wormadam.
“Wormadam!”
Now evolved and more powerful, Orvis had higher hopes that she just may be able to pull it off.
“Demetria, use tackle and hidden power!”
She leapt forwards, using the strange tendril on her head to grab hold of Cranidos and catapulting herself towards him. She slammed into him, knocking him back before leaping upwards into the air and firing a ray of light and stone.
Demetria then descended like a feather, delicately landing on the knocked out Cranidos before hopping over towards Orvis.
“Wow Demetria! That was so cool! You must be exhausted though, let’s see how Aella does against the next one yeah?”
Nodding and squealing with joy, Wormadam was returned to her pokeball. In her place, was Orvis’ corsolla, the most angry pokemon you’ll ever meet. As she landed on the battlefield, a nasty stone dug right into her side, but she merely shook it off thanks to her own tough body.
“You’ve done well so far… But my Onix will crush your pokemon with ease!”
Erupting from the ground was a large rock snake pokemon, a horn protruding from its skull as it snarled at Aella (who also snarled back, surprising the giant pokemon). Orvis laughed nervously, scratching the back of his head before warning Roark.
“I’m just gonna let you know now. Aella can be a bit… Excitable at times.”
-cue angry coral sounds-
“Pfft, Onix, use screech and rock throw.”
Orvis had to cover his ears from the terrible noise. He thought Zephyr’s metal sound was bad enough, but this was just horrible! Dazed Aella, tried to get her vision straight, only to see a bunch of large rocks hurtling towards her and slamming into her face.
“Aella. Double bubble beam!”
To be fair, Orvis didn’t even need to tell her what to do. The moment the first word left his lips the small angry pokemon had released jets upon jets of the painful streams of bubbles. They slammed into Onix, soaking his body as he was gradually shoved to the ground.
The horror on Roark’s face was kind of amusing, watching his big tough pokemon get taken down by a tiny pink coral. Orvis couldn’t help but laugh a little, but what surprised him more was that Aella was also laughing!
Roark returned his final pokemon, giving Orvis a thumbs up before walking towards him.
“I must say, I honestly thought you weren’t going to win but… I was proven wrong. Well here you go then pal, the coal badge.”
