ana was born in sunnyshore to middle class parents who were pretty busy with their work. as neither her mom nor her dad were able to give time to her, she grew up under the surveillance of her older brother, with whom she would have regular rows and awkward make ups with. they were inseparable as children even though they were ten years apart. at least, ana refused to be separated from him, at any cost.
her brother grew up to be a detective, and little eight year old ana would follow him to his office and watch him work on cases, resulting in her being fascinated with the human body and though morbid, blood. she decided to grow up to be a surgeon, though was nearly swayed out of it when she realized the amount of work it required.
in school, she played devil's advocate a little too much and all her teachers hated her, but she had the presence of a few good friends and everything was alright. she didn't apply herself well because she found things to be quite simulating, and did well only in the subjects she liked.
her parents flipped on her once when she failed geography and they threatened to throw her out of the house, to which she calmly agreed and slept at her friends for two days. when her parents came to fetch her they became overly sentimental, and ana realized she didn't exactly understand where they were coming from with all that emotion.
her family recently fell under heavily financial strain, and while she did get accepted into a university she decided it 'wasn't worth it unless she had a scholarship' and promptly signed off to become a forensics dept. ranger instead, though she still looks around for opportunities because while analyzing already cut-up people is interesting, she admits she'd prefer being the one doing the cutting, and doing it for a living.
