even when the sun doesn't shine, even when the rain doesn't come, even when the thunder doesn't roar, will you stay?
WORDS: 450+ | Am I doing this right ;u;? No pokemon.. yet. Why?
That was, quite literally, the first thing she was questioning. Why in the world was she wandering down route 201? I mean, hooray for travelling and battling, but her legs took her so far from Veilstone. This better be worth it damn it, seeing how Twinleaf practically screamed 'new beginnings' to trainers. Don't get her wrong, she loved the scenery and the peaceful vibes of the little town. She just wished that it weren't full of those trainers who think 'oh, I'm going to become like this pokemon master!' at such a young age. Not to say that everyone thought that - she herself had only been with pokemon for just over a year. Although, the grunt most preferred it if she didn't have to run into trainers.
Like usual, her stoic expression plastered up on her face. On the other hand, her jolly little Vulpix was trying to catch the attention of her very own trainer.
Ambrose had actually gone through the trouble of claiming that she was a trainer herself, and people actually bought it pretty easily. What? Never would expect someone so young and innocent looking to be part of Team Galactic? She couldn't tell if those were people were just stupid, or plain naive. So the naive member says to herself. Hypocrite.
On the bright side, her Vulpix seemed to enjoy the air outside. With her sweet pokemon staying indoors all the time, and the lack of activity they do even when they get outside.. This was like some sort of sanctuary. A rare event took place - Ambrose actually smiled. The Vulpix was just too cute, and she couldn't stop herself from the change of a pokerface to a soothing smile. "Hey.. Stop that. You're making me smile like an idiot." She grumbled, and yet she didn't try to stop the little fox. In fact, she actually pet it quite a few times.
Their peaceful exchange was disrupted, however, on their way back to Veilstone after seeing no point to the walk. It was times like these where she wished that she had a bike, so that she wouldn't have to walk for such a long period of time. Ironic how she was a trainer, and yet she barely trained her pokemon. Hey, it wasn't her fault. Blame her duties and blah. Plus, she went to visit her parents often.
It'd be a lie to say that she weren't the least bit unnerved after seeing some patchs of tall grass shaking, because she knew very well what that meant. Worst case scenario, she'd end up having to run. The girl's hand was hovering over Ralt's pokeball, these actions alone clearly hinting at what pokemon she'd be using.

even when the sun doesn't shine, even when the rain doesn't come, even when the thunder doesn't roar, will you stay?
WORDS: 970+ | I'm typing this at 2 AM >~< Catching buizel Right in front of her was that orange otter.. Weasel thing. Seriously, what was it? Ah, yes. It was a buizel. The little otter pokemon was known for being a pretty fast water type for earlier trainers and the like. At least, that's what she's heard. If she were lucky, she could land a good burn and confuse ray on the little guy and catching her would be a breeze. The problem is the type advantage, which she often took into a large consideration.. Worth the risk? Lets just try it out, see how it goes.
Ambrose had moved her hand away from Ralt's pokeball, pointing forwards to direct the six-tailed fox pokemon to stand her ground. Worst come to worse, she could switch out and get Ralts to smack it with a few magical leaves. With a cheerful cry, the fox hopped forwards and prepared herself for a battle.
The buizel certainly made no haste in moving first. They moved so quickly, but their body hadn't taken upon any effects. Quick attack, wasn't it? But her Vulpix wasn't stupid, and neither was she. "Vulpix! Avoid it, and then draw them in and feint attack!" She called out, with the nodding of her pokemon's head to confirm the command. Almost effortlessly, as if to show off, her Vulpix had hopped out of the way of the attack which left the poor little weasel tumbling into the ground after moving at such a quick speed. Disarmingly, her Vulpix approached the already cautious Buizel that was just about to swing it's tail until..
SMACK.
The buizel was hit with a good ol' feint attack sucker punch. Now she just look plain annoyed, and took a deep breath before her cheeks inflated. Two can play the 'I'm just gonna casually hit you after you're shot down' game. Lets see how this little fox jerk liked it when she got a face full of water. With Vulpix being so close up, it would probably be dangerous for her to be so nearby--
Too late.
Vulpix, having far too much fun basking in her hit had failed to pay attention to the buizel who just charged up a water gun. The vulpix was shot backwards, letting out a cry of pain from the water hitting against it's petite body. One more of those hits, and Vulpix would be completely done for. Was it really a risk she was willing to take..? Sure. Besides. If she swapped out now, Vulpix would refuse anyways due to her competitive nature. Plus.. Vulpix being Vulpix, she'd want to teach the buizel a lesson. Her expression was practically radiating off a 'let me at her, lemme at her!' type of vibe. "Lets just get this over with.." The female mumbled, clicking her tongue in annoyance. The Buizel looked as though they had enough as well, and wanted to end the damn battle and be on with their day. Not today buizel. Not today.
"Get up there and do a quick attack!" She began, with Vulpix making no haste to get up close and personal with the water type that had no doubt made her tired from the water. Nevertheless, Vulpix was able to swiftly tackle into the weasel's stomach; pushing it back and groaning in pain after landing. From there, however, Vulpix didn't stop. "And Confuse Ray!" Ambrose called out. With Vulpix being rather close to the buizel, she was able to send out a small ray of light to the buizel. All of a sudden, things began spinning and blurring out for the pokemon, growing confused. In it's own, jumbled up state of mind, the Buizel had tripped over and faceplanted into the earth - so it hurt itself in it's confusion. Gladly, Ambrose used this to her advantage by pulling out one of the 5 empty pokeballs she had on her, and tossing it to hit the weasel that was already down on the ground. Yeah, they were unable to get up. Let it be willingly, or unwillingly, the buizel popped into the pokeball as it fell to the ground. Shook a few times.
And one.. Two.. Three.. Click! Hooray. She caught a weasel. But she might want to go to a pokemon centre first. Can't be having a buizel who face planted and a weakened fire type now can we? "You did good. Now, lets get you healed up." The girl smiled, holding up Vulpix's pokeball and allowing the pokemon to return. With that, she picked up Buizel's pokeball and tossed it onto her belt right next to Vulpix and Ralts. Buuut.. She would still have to go through the rest of Route 201, and no doubt she'd run into more pokemon. Ugh.With a soft sigh, she sent out the water type that she had pretty much forced to join her. Out it came, and her arms were crossed in a displeased manner. "Oh come on, don't look at me like that." Ambrose huffed, crouching down to get to it's level. "Look. I'm sorry that I took you by force, but I'll make it up to you, alright? I promise, I'll be a good trainer. You can ask my Vulpix and Ralts here if you don't believe me." She motioned to the two other pokeballs, however the buizel didn't appear to be at all impressed.
"Ugh.." She groaned, glancing down at the orange otter. They were both irritated, same look in their eyes. Oh so similar and yet so very different. ".. Then, do you like battling?" She asked, with such a question piking the buizel's interest and gaining it's attention. "Fine. If we run into another pokemon, then we are battling them. That sound good? Then I can prove to you that you won't regret it." And with that, the buizel reluctantly agreed.
The two of them even shook on it. |
