It was simple really. Too simple for her to feel comfortable doing. She sighed and itched at her cheek, tugging at the bandana covering her face. She noticed something in the distance, and felt herself tense when she realized what - or rather who - it was.
"Hey punk! I want a rematch!"

that rocket thing was not good. they shouldn't be attacking her hometown. she should probably stop rocket more. but not all rockets are bad, just confused. so maybe she should just stop what they're doing if it's bad.
scarlet stopped when she heard someone behind her. a familiar rocket, if she knew voices. and scarlet knew voices kinda well. just enough.
scarlet slowly turned. her face didn't change. she didn't particularly feel strong emotions now.
did she feel like it? "sure." why not? a battle is a battle.

scarlet sent out pikachu. pikachu looked around, and saw the purrloin. pikachu said pikachu. "pikachu!" scarlet nodded. she agreed with pikachu.
go first? did she feel like doing that? not really. scarlet was in a 'move second' mood today. there was no need to think quickly and make a mistake. "nah."
scarlet blinked once. this rocket seemed to be angry at her. she wondered why. there was nothing personal in what she did. maybe scarlet should buy her a smoothie? that always made scarlet feel better.

“Alright Kitty, use Night Slash.”
Kitty rushed forward and used the attack, hoping to land a hit. GG’s stomach was turning, and she wasn’t so sure that she would manage to win this battle. She could hope though, and she stared at Scarlet, not in the eye but mostly at her nose.

渋み sing, sing a song; make it simple, to last the whole day long; don't worry if it's not good enough for anyone else to hear WORDS 100 mood focused | scarlet blinked once more, this time making total eye contact with the other girl. that was only polite when facing someone, she'd say. scarlet never broke eye contact. the purrloin came closer, closer to the pikachu. quickly closing the distance. just before the purrloin was in arm's reach...
"discharge."
scarlet stood perfectly still while pikachu sprung into action. as the cat approached it, the mouse let off a burst of electricity, sizzling any grass in the nearby vicinity. white lightning blasted indiscriminately, but was clearly focused on the cat at hand.
scarlet never lost eye contact. she almost looked bored.

"STOP LOOKING AT ME!"
She screamed, startling Kitty into faltering. Her attack missed and she took the full brunt of the discharge, yelping and meowing in distress. She weakly jumped back and leaped in with a scratch attack, but didn't have much hope for landing. This pikachu was crazy strong already.

渋み sing, sing a song; make it simple, to last the whole day long; don't worry if it's not good enough for anyone else to hear WORDS 100 mood curious | the woman yelled at her to stop looking at her. scarlet simply tilted her head, vaguely confused. did she do something wrong? did this woman absolutely hate eye contact? maybe she was shy. but she didn't seem shy when she was burning down a route. what a strange person.
scarlet shrugged and focused on the battle instead. if the woman said stop, then stop. it was a good rule to follow. "slam."
the purrloin reached with a claw. pikachu lunged in with his whole body, aiming to full body the scratching purrloin.
then scarlet looked back up at the woman.

GG stomped her foot as Kitty weakly limped back to her trainer, forfeiting the fight. She didn't feel like fainting thank-you-very-much! GG scowled under her bandana and sighed, crossing her arms.
"Okay okay you win are you happy!?"
GG clearly wasn't. Maybe this was payback? She wasn't sure what was really going on.

then why? why was she so angry? scarlet breathed in deeply, and exhaled deeply, then stared right into the woman's eyes again. pikachu returned to his poke ball on his own accord.
"not really." suzy admitted. she didn't feel much at the moment. however, she was concerned for the other woman's happiness. maybe she should make her feel better.
"would you like some candy? it will make you feel better."

She sucked in a deep breath, trying to calm herself as she rocked back and forth. Admittedly, as much as maybe she wanted some candy to heal her bruised ego, she wouldn't take it from Scarlet. That would be too much of a hit to her and she was more angry at the other girl for not letting her win than anything.

渋み sing, sing a song; make it simple, to last the whole day long; don't worry if it's not good enough for anyone else to hear WORDS 100 mood tentative | scarlet became somewhat concerned. was she... okay? perhaps scarlet was being insensitive. and that wasn't polite. though, what could she do? it was a battle. scarlet did her best. the other trainer did her best, too.
only thing to do was be a good sport about it. "i'll leave you alone." scarlet said quietly. however, before she did, the girl reached into her pocket and pulled out a few lollipops, still in their wrappers. scarlet peacefully set the candy next to the girl.
with that, scarlet stepped back, keeping watch over the other girl for any last words before leaving.

She stood up and rubbed the back of her neck, flushing slightly. She felt a bit foolish now, but took a few steps back. She wanted to leave, and hurried away toward the next town and a pokemon center.
