However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.

So the mission was simple, but marked as dangerous. A rampaging Kangaskhan had lost her baby, and was destroying everything in sight. She'd already attacked several trainers passing by peacefully, and the rangers had been called to help with the situation. As per usual, Hunter was assigned to it. She was somewhat getting tired of it, only because she was an aspiring "pokemon whisperer" of sorts.
She managed to make very good friends with a lot of pokemon very easily, and the rangers were taking it a bit too seriously as though she were some kind of miracle worker. She sighed as she leaned against a tree before checking her phone.
She didn't know who was going to be here with her, but she hoped they were at least competent.
The missions seemed pretty dangerous if you thought about it, a rampaging mother going crazy because it lost its baby. Made even worse with that angry mama being over seven feet tall.
Corbin wasn't really that great at calming down pokemon in general, which originally confused the hell out of the man with why he was even chosen. However he eventually caved in and assumed that they picked him in case the kangaskhan needed knocked out.
At least the Ranger Elite was able to have his choice of a partner in this mission and he knew exactly the person to pick. Of course he picked Hunter, knowing that the female ranger was great with pokemon. At least compared to him she was some kind of pokemon miracle worker or something.
With a sigh Corbin would approach Hunter from behind, dressed all nicely and properly in his Ranger uniform. As he approached her Corbin would casually lay an arm on top of Hunter heads, staring off down the road. "Heeeeeeey there good lookin, you ready to calm down this Kangaskhan?"

Of course. Of course it was him. While admittedly she was excited, she gave him a slightly tired glare, before it melted into a rather nice and chill smile. At least she now knew that he probably requested her on the mission. She reached up to grab his arm and pushed him in the side, sighing softly.
"You big doofus. Can't get enough of me huh honey? Picking me of all people, shame on you just cause I'm the damn pokemon whisperer."
She joked, taking off her jacket. She wore her ranger uniform, fitted to her needs and tight in all the right places for maximum movement availability. Nothing to slow her down. She tossed the jacket at Corbin and moved forward, cracking her knuckles and rolling out her neck.
"Alright let's get this started lover boy. I don't have all day and I don't feel like dying. Let's try to find the baby in the immediate area first, and if we can't find it then we move in."
"Cmooon could you blame me for picking you mrs pokemon whisperer? Besides im not really that good at calming down wild ones anyway, im not even sure why they gave me the mission."
Corbin said with an awkwardness laugh as he reached a hand back to rub at the back of his head, a bit stupid grin on his face. For a mission that was supposed to be dangerous the ranger elite was surprisingly laid back. Not that he wasn't taking the mission serious or something like that.
Catching Hunter's jacket out of the air Corbin would look at it for a moment before just tossing it over his shoulder, reaching a hand down to grasp a pokeball before sending out his Frost form Rotom. The giant orange refrigerator standing behind him before floating up into the air. "Glitch could help us look, get an aerial view and what not."

Hunter merely hummed, stretching her arms above her head and twisting her torso back and forth to loosen up. She nodded at Glitch and gave a friendly grin, wiggling her fingers at the pokemon.
"Alright Glitch, think you could help? Let me know if you find the baby okay?"
She started forward with a sense of determination and walked into the surrounding brush, scanning the area eagerly. In the distance she could hear the roaring of a desperate mother searching for her child and cringed, sighing softly. She really didn't want to deal with that honestly, but here she was stuck with it.
Otherwise she was doing relatively well. Sadly there was no sign of the baby in the immediate area which really sucked.
With a beeping noise Glitch would float up higher and began flying around the area, letting its refrigerator door hang open as the pokemon flew. The beep just being its way of letting Huner know that he heard her. Thinking that it'd be kinda stupid to follow Hunter Corbin would begin searching a different area then the women was searching. Figuring that this would be made a lot easier if they all searched different areas.
Groaning out after Hunter spoke again Corbin would shake his head, popping out of a bush that he had been searching in. "Nope no luck so far." Glitch on the other hand would beep a few more times and stay up the air, of course if the pokemon had found something it wouldn't be up in the air still.

Hunter was about to comment about the erratic state of Corbin's hair from rifling around in the bush before she heard a noise. She stood at attention as her gaze snapped in the direction of the noise, and she grinned triumphantly. Approaching the noise she found the scared baby all alone, and cooed gently in a graveling murmur, mimicking the tones of the mother Kanga. The baby settled as Hunter picked her up, wrapping her in her shirt in a makeshift pouch.
"Found her Corbin!"
She approached the other ranger with a grin, having enjoyed how easy this mission was so far. She offered the slightly fussy baby to Corbin in a gesture to stroke the pokemon, this was a rare chance.
"Wanna touch her before we give her back to mama? Not many people have managed it and lived. Not wild ones anyway."
Stepping out of the bush Corbin would do his best to fix his hair somewhat, smacking leaves and twigs out of it. The white tips of his hair dangling down in front of his forehead from all the rustling. "You found her already?" He said a bit surprised, this was going a lot easier then he thought it would.
With a wave of his hand upwards at his fridge form Rotom Corbin would head on over to Hunter, the Rotom slowly moving behind him. Trying its best to not scare the baby Khan just by being there.
Not even thinking about any repercussions that could occur from messing with the baby Corbin would reach a hand out and slowly and gently pet the baby Kangaskhan's head. It wasn't every day you would have an opportunity like this after all, it might not even happen again unless Corbin ended up with a Kangaskhan of his own.
"So thats it then? Just gotta bring this little fella back to mama now?"

"Easy peasy right? They don't call me the pokemon whisperer for nothing you know."
She joked casually, gently stroking the nose of the small Khan. The baby stopped fussing, lulled by the repetitive movement on her nose, and closed her eyes. Hunter bounced the baby gently and winked at Corbin, something something motherly instincts? Hunter smirked at the thought and headed in the direction of the roaring.
The trip was short and soon her breath caught in her throat as she saw the rampaging pokemon. She glanced at Corbin with a strange expression on her face, motioning with a hand for him to stay back.
"If I go down don't let me die okay?"
Without another word she stepped forward and cautiously inched her way toward the Khan, who looked at her furiously and raised a hand to swat at her. She cringed, but held out the baby slowly for the mother to take. The Khan stopped and froze, gently reaching out to take her baby back. She chittered quietly in her throat, and the baby chittered back in happiness.
The Khan tucked the baby into her pouch and considered Hunter for a moment. Hunter grinned and turned back to wave to Corbin, and never saw it coming.
Everything was in slow motion.
The Khan raised her giant paw, swiping at Hunter's head. The giant paw connected with a sickening crack and Hunter went down faster than she'd ever fallen before. She hit the ground and gasped for air, fingers twitching in the dirt as her head spun. The Khan roared over her body and raised a foot, intending to stomp Hunter into the ground.
It seemed like the mission was going perfectly to be honest. They found the baby and Hunter was heading down to return it back to its mother, Corbin figured that everything was pretty much over. He even went as far as to flash the woman a big grin as she looked back at him and waved, he was pretty proud of her actually.
Only for the grin to fade from his face as soon as he heard a sickening crack sound, his eyes going wide at the sight of the Kangaskhan randomly attacking. "She just gave you your damn baby back!" The man yelled out in a fit of rage, he was pretty much in attack mode for lack of a better word. He just saw the Kangaskhan strike down his friend after she went through all the trouble of returning the baby back to it.
His eyes would widen even more as the Kangaskhan raised a foot up to try to squish Hunter, his instincts taking over as he tossed a pokeball at the Kangaskhan's foot. Only for Corbin's Steelix to erupt from the pokeball as it neared the Kangaskhan's raised foot. The thirty foot tall Steelix slamming into the bottom of the Khan's foot, sending it backwards onto its back, Steelix letting out a loud roar as it glared down at the smaller pokemon.
"Don't hurt it anymore then you have to Catalysis!" Corbin yelled out as he ran down to Hunter, bending down before gently lifting her up bridal style. Trying his best to be careful to prevent anymore damage to Hunter. Sure the rangers were supposed to protect pokemon but the Kangaskhan had crossed a line by trying to kill someone.
Technically they did complete the mission after all since the pokemon had its baby back. Thinking that Corbin wouldn't look back at the Kangaskhan as he began to walk off with Hunter, just trying to get her some help.
As he started to walk away however there was another loud slamming sound before a dragging sound began to follow behind him. Curious now Corbin would turn his head to be greeted with the sight of...his Steelix crawling along the ground and following behind him. Glitch currently sitting on top of the Steelix's head. He could only assume that the loud noise was Steelix knocking out Kangaskhan so that it wouldn't cause anymore harm, maybe it would be calmer when it woke up.
"Dont worry Hunter ima get you to a hospital alright?" The dark haired man said worriedly as he kept walking down the route.

Hunter saw stars, then darkness, then white spots, then stars again. She was out of it in the worst of ways, a limp noodle in Corbin's arms. She tried to slur out an answer, anything really to let Corbin know she heard him, but her tongue was thick in her mouth and her hair felt tacky, she thought her head might be bleeding from the fall. No shit though, Khan hit hard.
"C-corbin? I think I'm dying."
It wasn't really meant seriously but if the skull splitting headache was anything to go by she might have some minor brain swelling and a serious lump by the end of this. She huffed and tried to wiggle in his arms only to find out her body wasn't properly responding anyway.
"H-hospital?"
She hated them. She really really hated hospitals, but now wasn't the time to let a personal grudge against a series of buildings get the best of her. Her head spun and her stomach turned with nausea, and she gulped in deep breaths to keep herself steady.
"You're not gonna die." Corbin plainly blurted out almost as soon as Hunter said that she thought she was dying. Even if she was he sure as hell wasn't going to let her die on his watch, he was gonna make sure he got her to the hospital as soon as possible. Whistling a bit Corbin would look back at his Steelix before waiting for it to catch up to the two of them. Picking his foot up to walk again as soon as Steelix got behind him, only to end up standing on top of the large pokemon as it surged along the ground.
With a sigh he'd then crouch down again and carefully set Hunter down on the Steelix's head, next to the frost form Rotom. The cold refrigerator just radiating a cool breeze, something that he hoped the girl would find comfortable. After all he did first meet her out in a snow covered route. "Yep the Hospital, im sure as hell not a doctor and theres probably at least one there somewhere."
After saying that Corbin would look along the route as the Steelix carried them even closer to the town, the pokemon planning to take them right to the hospital without causing any property damage if possible. "And I uhhh I didn't do anything too it...technically...Steelix just knocked it away from you. It'll be fine."

Hunter felt herself moving in an odd pattern, and she realized she was being carried. A little disoriented she tried to move around but found that she probably shouldn't, and sat still. Giving the Steelix beneath her a small pat she released a short mumbled "Good boy" before going out of it, her pupils almost taking over her entire iris.
The cool breeze was welcome in the otherwise oppressive heat and she shivered comfortably, trying to get her bearings. With the new information given to her she tensed slightly, a more pained and concentrated expression on her face.
"You didn't hurt it too bad right? We startled her, it was my fault for....for.....what was I saying?"
Her eyes rolled for a moment before she gripped at Corbin's sleeve, unable to complete a comprehensive sentence.
In the distance the hospital staff would become alarmed watching the large pokemon steadily make its way toward the building.
With a blink Corbin would look down at Hunter as she pat the steelix and called it a good boy. Assuming she was still kinda loopy from what happened Corbin simply shrugged his shoulders as the steelix slithered around along the ground. For the moment he simply stood there staring at the hospital as he tried to think of what to do, only to blink again as he heard Hunter speak once again.
"No Catalysis didn't hurt it too much, just got it away from you and what not. It wasn't your fault though, you didn't even startle it or anything you were calm as possible. It was a bit impressive actually.." He blurted out before feeling the tug on his sleeve, causing him to stop speaking and look down at Hunter. Only to see her eyes roll once again.
Of course Corbin knew jack shit about medical things, he assumed her condition was just getting worse again as time went on. Panicking slightly he'd wave an arm towards the hospital staff, yelling out "Hey hey! We need some help over here, really badly!" As he finished yelling Steelix would come to a stop near the hospital. The staff rushing over now that they knew there was an actual emergency to retrieve the woman. Since Steelix was of course slithering along the ground and not like floating around on its tail it was easy for the staff to get Hunter's body off.
Stepping off of the Steelix as Hunter was rushed into the hospital Corbin would return the large pokemon as well as Glitch before rubbing at the back of his neck. Standing in the road as he watched the hospital staff take Hunter inside before turning and walking down the street slightly. He planned to come back and check on her as soon as possible, he just had to find a pay phone and call in to the ranger headquarters real quick to report the mission's status. It was technically complete and over but he still had to let HQ know, as well as let them know about Hunter's condition.
