i'm here to tell ya honey, that i'm bad to the bone.
@whomever picks this up. ♥ Hopefully this is okay. I haven't RP'd in so long. D:
Ophelia had not had a chance to examine the two pokemon handed to her by the Galactic Recruit once he had posted her bail. The whirlwind of being released, shooed out of jail and then essentially set out on her own was enough to make the woman's head spin. In all the commotion she had meekly accepted the two pokeballs with a word of thanks and had left.
So here she was, in Twinleaf town. It was midday and the air was stagnant and humid. In the distance large black storm clouds were slowly rolling in, the promise of a large storm later in the day hung in the air. Ophelia wiped the sweat from her brow, grumbling at her choice of clothing. As per usual the woman had dressed in all black. A solid black t-shirt style dress and long leather boots. Even her travel pack was a thick black leather. For the millionth time in her life she reminded herself to stop dressing the way she did in midsummer.
Still, she wasn't entirely irritated. Not yet, at least. She had come here for a reason. The two pokeballs lay at the bottom of her sack, still unopened. Of course Ophelia was curious but she hadn't had the time to open them and see what was inside.
Now that she was away from the jail and quite a few towns over, Opehlia figured it was time. Shifting the pack off her shoulders, she allowed it to hit the ground in front of her. Bending down, she dug around, grabbing the two shrunken balls from the bottom.
As she stood, replacing her bag to its' previous postion Opehlia rolled the two small circles in her palm. What could be in them? She wondered. Surely Galactic members were handed some pretty beefy pokemon, right?
Deciding it was time, she launhed the balls into the air. In a blinding flash of red light that momentarily put spots in Ophelia's vision, came two small forms. The first was a Meowth. The normal type put her front paws to the ground and made a very feline stretch. The second pokemon was a Sableye, who merely grinned from ear to ear, staring intently at Ophelia with his jeweled eyes.
"Not bad." Ophelia said dryly, hiding her slight disapointment at recieving a normal type. Beggers couldn't be choosers though, Realizing she should be thankful for recieving her pair, the woman held her tongue. "Now, we train." She stated simply, "Come along."
With that, Opehlia hurried onwards, heading towards the outskirts of the town.

@no one in particular~ KO'd Taillow and continued.
It hadn't taken long at all for the trio to find their first pokemon. They had made it only half a mile from their starting point before they came across a Taillow who was doing nothing but minding her own business. She briefly looked up at the trio as they approached before returning to the ground she had been pecking.
Ophelia paused, staring down the creature who seemed indifferent to her arrival. She then turned to the two pokemon that had been tailing her. Sableye had stuck close, the gems for his eyes dashing back and forth across his see-through head in curiosity. Meowth had followed at a leisurely pace, clearly not phased at the adventure she had just embarked on.
"Well..." The woman mused out loud, once again turning to the Taillow who had hopped a bit to the side and now had her back facing towards them. "Let's do this." She said dryly, "Sableye, you're up." Ophelia ordered, thinking her ghost pokemon's type would allow for certain hits to be negated.
The ghost pokemon drifted forward, his constant smile never faltering. "Sableye, use confuse ray." Ophelia said, standing back as the little ghost type ran forward. Before the Taillow had time to register she was under attack, Sableye launched his confuse ray.
The attack hit the pokemon dead on, causing her to stumble backwards. But she was quickly on the offensive, countering with a double team. Within seconds multiple Taillows surrounded Sableye, all staggering and bleary eyed as the real one.
"Shit." The woman muttered under her breathe, realizing that if she had no idea which was the real one, neither did her pokemon. "Use shadow claw! Attack all the clones!" Ophelia cried.
Sableye promptly followed the command. As he slashed at each fake Taiilow, the vanished underneath his fingers. When he got to the last one, the one he was sure was the real one, his attack missed by a hair as the pokemon stumbled backwards, tripping over her own feet and injuring herself.
Ophelia nodded to herself. Although she had injured the bird as she had wanted to, at least it had been hurt. "Feint attack, before it can recover!" She ordered.
Sableye rushed forward, attacking the poor flying type before it had gotten to her feet. She was knocked backwards by a few feet. As Taillow righted herself, she managed to shake off the confusion and took the sky, returning with a wing attack that knocked Sableye to the ground. He cried out in pain and turned to look at his trainer as she formulated her next attack.
"Another feint attack." Ophelia said, watching without blinking as her pokemon launched forward, knocking the bird type from the sky. When it hit the ground, it was clear that it was weak. The battle was close to an end, but not just there yet. Taillow launched forward with a quick attack. A blue blur passed harmlessly through the purple ghost type. Ophelia laughed out loud, realizing chosing Sableye had been the best choice.
With the bird pokemon so close, she once again called for a shadow claw. Sableye lashed out, his purple claws slashing forward and knocking the bird pokemon unconcious.
Sableye did a little dance in victory, clapping his hands silently in delight. "Good enough job." The woman said, nodding her head in approval as she stepped over the sleeping pokemon's body. "You're up next Meowth." She said, continuing on as if the battle had not been her first victory with her new pokemon.

i'm here to tell ya honey, that i'm bad to the bone.
@no one. KO'd Cubchoo. Attempting a capture. -1 Pokeball -1 Potion (will update PC, I lost track of time and have to go to work now! D: Also, apologies for the ending being a bit rushed. I really did lose track of time. )
The sun continued to beat down on the trio as they walked. Ophelia did her best to ignore the sweat pooling in rather unsavory places. Her only saving grace was the dark clouds in the distance making a bee line towards Twinleaf Town. She still skirted the town, making sure the buildings were within view, but far enough away to avoid human interaction. She was close enough to route 201 to duck into the forest for some shelter if it really began to rain.
With her mind lost in thoughts of the weather, she almost completely missed her Sableye's cried warning for the pokemon ahead of her. Ophelia stopped just in time to miss the Cubchoo who stood before her. The small blue and white pokemon hugged itself close and wailed, tears falling from its' large black eyes.
Ophelia shifted her gaze back and forth. Was this pokemon lost? It wasn't likely to find an ice type roaming the warm grassy plains of Twinleaf Town. When it became evident that the Cubchoo was alone, Ophelia's eyes lit up as she realized the opportunity that had presented itself.
Ignoring the distressed pokemon's wailing, she turned to the Meowth who had been behind her the whole time. "Your turn." She said simply, stepping aside as the her pokemon walked in front of her.
"Meowth, use screech!" Opehlia said. Meowth nodded and let out an ear deafening noise. Instinctively the woman clasped her hands over her ears in an attempt to save herself from the pain. The Cubchoo wasn't as fortunate, her defenses fell. The small pokemon reared up and unleashed an ice wind attack. Frozen particles blasted forward, knocking Meowth off her feet.
The small cat squealed in distress, picking herself up and shaking the frozen bits off her fur. Ophelia smirked, she was going to capture this strong ice type and use it for her own gain. "Meowth, use slash!" Ophelia commanded.
Meowth launched forward, raking her sharp claws along the soft white fur of the Cubchoo. Before Meowth could back away, Cubchoo launched her own fury swipes, managing to land two attacks along the feline's sides.
Meowth limped away from the attack, blood beginning to stain her tan fur. This was when Cubchoo began to use bide. No stranger to the move, Ophelia realized this was her now or never moment in the battle. "Meowth, before releases it's attack, use slash again, use everything you've got!" Ophelia cried, pointing dramatically at the Cubchoo.
Meowth once again launched forward, a bit slower than she previously had. Her claws once again raked against the ice type. It merely flinched, but went back to powering up for it's attack. It was clear from the slight tremor in cunchoo's arm that the battle was almost over. When it became apparent that she hadn't quite taken down her opponent, Ophelia demanded another slash.
As Meowth launched her final attack, her own body trembling in weakness, Cubchoo fainted unceremoniously. Ophelia took a moment to observe the scene. Reaching into her pack, she pulled out a potion and pokeball. Tossing the ball at the fallen Cubchoo, she turned her back to it as it engulfed the pokemon. Her attention was now on Meowth, who had begun to lick the blood from her fur, doing the her best to make it seem as if she wasn't hurt.
"Stop that." Ophelia said, her normally cold voice showing a different side of warmth. She gently moved her Meowth's arm away and sprayed the potion on the slashes. "That should do it." She said, nodding at Meowth in a reassuring manner.

@tagged -1 Potion, already removed Ophelia KO's the Cacnea and continues on.
As Ophelia finished spraying the last of the purple potion on her Meowth, she heard the pokeball click behind her. She turned her head, satisfied to see the now still sphere waiting for her. Although the pokemon's rather annoying wail had set off a headache in the woman, she was glad to add another pokemon to her team.
The temporarily forgotten feline pokemon by the croched Ophelia mewed in alarm as another pokemon approached. Although she was feeling better, the cat like pokemon had no desire to fight again.
Ophelia stood up now, taking a step forward so that Meowth was now behind her feet. She eyed up the little green pokemon that had wandered towards them, swinging its' thorn laden arms. "Hmph." The woman muttered out loud, looking at the now filled pokeball on the ground. This would be a good chance to test out the Cubchoo, an ice type against a grass type would be an easy battle for the already wounded pokemon.
Walking over, the woman gracefully picked up the pokeball and tossed in the air. Within seconds the still dazed Cubchoo landed before her. It didn't take long to start wailing again. "Oh shut up." Ophelia complained, pulling another potion from her brag. She gave the small bear a much less caring spray than she had Meowth and nudged her with her foot towards the Cacnea who had sat down to watch what had been going on.
"Cubchoo, it's time to test your worth. Use brine." The woman said coldly, ignoring the obvious reluctance from her new pokemon as well as the nonthreatening and curious stance the Cacnea had taken.
Cubchoo sighed, looking up at her new trainer. When it was clear that this was nonnegotiable, the bear opened her mouth and out came an ice cold spray of salty water. The Cacnea recoiled harshly, suffering heavy damage from the strong water move.
The grass type was quick to respond with an ingrain, shooting roots deep into the ground and absorbing the nutrients below it. Ophelia silently cursed, realizing this meant that her opponent could heal during battle. She would just have to knock it down with another attack with a type advantage. "Icy wind!" Ophelia cried after planning her next move.
Cubchoo hesitated, obviously unhappy with being forced to take down a previously non-hostile opponent. However the Cacnea took advantage of the situation. Launching forward with a feint attack, Cubchoo was knocked backwards. "That's what you get for not following my command." Ophelia said, crossing her arms over her chest in annoyance. "Now, use icy wind."
This time Cubchoo listened, blasting the little cactus with a devastating attack that left it fainted before them. "Good enough." Ophelia mused out loud, "Now, back in the ball. We've got to keep training. I'll get let you out when I need you." She said, returing the Cubchoo to her ball and continuing on the path she was heading.
