witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine had always been interested in the unknown - in that he wanted to gain knowledge, not to adventure and test the limits of the human body. And for once, he'd decided that he'd take a visit to the catacombs for a mixture of both - perhaps he'd learn something within the catacombs. Perhaps he'd even catch some cool pokemon.[break][break] He'd worn comfortable, loose clothing - a grey jacket and sweat pants - so as to keep warm once he descended into the tombs. He'd put his hood on, so as to prevent spiderwebs from getting caught in his hair. He began to descend.[break][break] Caine withdrew a flashlight and flicked it on. It illuminated very poorly, but it would have to do. Cautiously, Caine took a step forward and walked deeper into the mysterious catacombs.

[attr="class","LastCross"]While the catacombs could never be remade in the way prior to the Arkwright feud so many months ago various caverns still remained left untouched by battle. It was these caverns that Aster had ventured into today in hopes of obtaining information about the legendary pokemon he sought, pokemon that could potentially change the world if utilized properly. What he doesn't expect in this jaunt is to run into another traveler far younger than he in the underground maze hidden deep beneath Celestic Town. The child's flashlight shines on the dark skinned man, his eyes attempting to peer through the artificial light The behind the tool looks familiar, but amidst such harsh light Aster's unable to ascertain the traveler's identity. While Aster attempts to confirm an identity his sole pokemon outside its ball fades into the Admin's shadow waiting for orders.
The galactic admin says little as the pokemon hidden in his shadow grows impatient. "Would you mind pointing that flashlight somewhere else?" It sounds more like a command than a question. It's only as Aster finishes that the Gengar rises from the man's shadow it's red eyes focused on the darkness ahead, a sign that wild pokemon approached in the distance "Boy, prepare yourself wild pokemon are closing in." He calls to the stranger turning toward the same darkness that Gengar was focused on. The galactic admin and his ghost type were ready to battle whatever headed this way.
[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine did not expect a person's frame to be revealed by the flashlight's light. "Oh, I'm sorry," he responded, shining the flashlight in a different direction. Only then did it register to him the face that had been revealed. Caine was shocked.[break][break] "Sir, I did not expect you to be in the catacombs," he said, standing a little straighter. He wished he didn't look so grungy - there were several smudges of dirt on his sleeves and spiderwebs had attached themselves to his hood. Oh well.[break][break] Caine noticed bright, red eyes emerge from the admin's shadow. It quickly revealed itself to be a Gengar. For a split second, Caine was worried that the Galactic Admin was about to attack him. "Sir?" he asked. But the admin only replied by telling him to ready himself, his attention focused on the darkness. No doubt, wild pokemon were approaching. Without another word, Caine placed a hand on the pokeballs at his side, ready to withdraw his Aron at the first sight of a pokemon.[break][break]

[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine lifted his flashlight in the direction of the lengthy darkness, peering into the dim light to ascertain the pokemon's footsteps that were coming from that way. His eyebrows lifted as his turquoise eyes settled on not one, but two pokemon: a scraggy and a stunky. He had no particular interest in either, but they didn't look intent on moving out of the way. Caine released the pokeball attached to his belt in one swift motion. He already knew his next move - Earthquake would be a horrendous idea in an enclosed cavern.[break][break] "Power-Up Punch on Stunky," Caine muttered simply, giving instructions to his trusty Aron. The mountain pokemon obliged, rearing on its back legs before slamming a frontal limb into the Stunky's visage. It squealed with pain and began spraying stinking acid around the cavern. Caine cringed at the smell, but he had absolute faith in the ground type pokemon.[break][break] "Okay, let's finish with iron head," Caine said, pointing a finger at the Stunky. Merlin charged at the still squealing pokemon, ramming it hard on the buttocks. The stunky hissed painfully and scrambled back into the darkness.[break][break] Caine lifted the empty pokeball and let his Aron return. "Good job," he said before tucking the pokeball back onto his belt.[break][break][break] Stunky defeated

[attr="class","LastCross"]he sound of the boy's voice not exactly timid, but definitely on edge was familiar and with the removal of the light quickly the blond haired explorer is recognized as one his grunts, a certain Caine Ingram. What exactly a grunt was doing this deep in the caverns beneath the town Aster had no idea. When the pokemon make themselves known neither of them particularly memorable "Eleven remove them." With the order given the gengar only chuckled as it faded into the darkness the pokemon having full rein on how he'd deal with his target. One of which was being handled by the grunt. Aster simply watches the boy as he battles quietly judging this aspect of the grunt's worth.
The boy handled himself well against the wild pokemon, but then again it was a wild skunky, he wouldn't be fit for any kind of service if he couldn't handle that. He glances over to gengar who's wasted no time subduing the second pokemon a single thunderbolt rendering the scraggy unconscious before the ghost type returned to his master's shadow. When calm returns Aster speaks up a golden eye once again focused on the blond haired boy.
"Ingram, what brings you to the remains of the catacombs?" The man crosses his arms as he waits for an answer, it'd be best not to keep him waiting too long.
[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine brushed away some stray strands of hair that had fallen over his turquoise eyes. The fight hadn't been hard - rather, the stunky was just tenuous. He glanced to the side and saw that the admin had made quick work of the scraggy - one hit of a thunderbolt. He was impressed, but the admin's power was to be expected. He felt the Galactic's golden eyes on his own sea-green ones, and he straightened subconsciously under the powerful gaze - merely because he knew the man held more authority than him.[break][break] The man asked a question which he had not really expected. However, Caine quickly formed his answer. He kept his gaze straight to show his sincerity. "I'm interested in the legendary pokemon Palkia and Dialga. I suspected there might be some clues here for the information I'm looking for, but it doesn't really seem like it...plus I hoped to catch some more pokemon while here. Sir," he added a little hastily. What he had said was entirely true - he just hadn't really expected to be asked such a question - he'd thought the majority of the admin kept to themselves, not bothering to mingle with recruits. He hesitated a second. [break][break] "Is there an issue if I'm here?" He didn't see what he'd done wrong - the man looked impatient and slightly miffed, and Caine was rather certain he'd done nothing to offend the man. However, if he had committed some crime, he didn't want to offend the man further. Especially since Caine preferred to be in their good graces - team Galactic was not forgiving, and Caine wanted to make sure he rose in the ranks. Any sort of blemish to his record would hurt not only him, but everyone counting on him. And that, he could not let happen.[break][break] His eyes darted back to the darkness, where he'd heard scuttling noises. "Sir, there's more pokemon coming," he informed. Although he suspected that the man already knew this, as the admin's Gengar had its red eyes trained on the darkness.

[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine watched as two pokemon showed themselves in the dim light of his flashlight. One an ekans and the other a nosepass. He wasn't particularly interested in either. He sighed as he released a meditite. "Ajax, Force Palm," he said. He regretted his decision only a second later.[break][break] For one thing, Ajax was loud. And noisy. And rambunctious. Even as the blue and white fighting type gave the nosepass a palm to the face, it was yelling with fury. Caine buried his face in his open palm, embarrassed by the ruckus it was making. Sure, Ajax was powerful and friendly, but Caine wished that it wasn't so noisy. [break][break] "Ajax, quiet, please!" Caine snapped. The fighting type immediately quietened at Caine's strict tone. Both the pokemon and master watched as the nosepass fell backwards. It struggled to get up, wiggling its wedge-shaped feet and body in an attempt to raise itself. It couldn't.[break][break] Caine was about to call Ajax back when glowing purple gems shot themselves towards the fighting type. "Mind reader!" Caine called. The meditite obeyed immediately. It closed its eyes and dodged each of the violet projectiles, reading the trajectory of each missile. When Caine made sure Ajax was safe, he looked back at the Nosepass to see that it had disappeared.[break][break] Ajax returned to its pokeball, which Caine strapped onto his belt. So far, his investigation in these ruins had been rather fruitless - he'd seen nothing that could aid him, and all the pokemon they'd encountered had been of no interest to him. Caine had been hoping for something like a gligar or a trapinch. Perhaps he was too ambitious?[break][break] He turned back to the admin, brushing his hair out of his face yet again. He frowned slightly as he thought it needed a trim. His eyes settled on the Galactic's outline once again. "Does my answer satisfy, sir?"[break][break][break] [break] Ajax used Force Palm![break] Ajax used Mind Reader![break] Defeated Nosepass.
[attr="class","LastCross"]"ery well, Ingram you'll be accompanying me through the catacombs then." Aster's wouldn't allow any discussion concerning the order his word was final. After giving the command he'd turn to Eleven who'd been preparing for the next wave of encroaching pokemon. This duo was less threatening than the last, both the Ekans and the Nosepass weren't threatening by anymeans still, they were wild and decided to attack as most wild pokemon did. Ingram seemed focused enough on the Nosepass and so the Ekans was left for the admin to deal with. As the snake hisses. Aster simply moves forward refusing to stop his stride, no hint of fear in him. "Psychic." the order is quick and concise, it's one The ghost type had no trouble following either. Red eyes began to glow the inverse color a blue light quickly surrounding the snake. In moments the poison type was unconscious the single psychic type attack too much for the snake to handle. He didn't have much use for the poison type, but perhaps the snake pokemon would come in handy somewhere down the line and so he drops a pokeball on the poison pokemon's unconscious body the familiar red light enveloping and absorbing the ekans in a flash. Only when a solemn ding rang throughout the cavern did Aster pick up the device before observing the end of Caine's battle.
"Come, we're going deeper." Aster wasted no time calling the boy forward as he delved deeper into the darkness a number of things on his mind. As they walked his eyes would travel to the man beside him Aster had a query for the boy, perhaps the first of many. "What do you think of Galactic as it is Ingram, be truthful." Grunts often had a tendency to suck up to him and for fair reason, however, Aster didn't need nor did he care for sweet words. Hopefully, the young Mr. Ingram would understand that.
[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine started when the admin ordered him to accompany him. Had he really heard correctly? "Sir?" he asked. But there was no reply and Caine decided it would be better to follow the man. There was no reason not to.[break][break] He watched as the Admin captured the Ekans with ease holy shit that thing is over 6 foot?!?! and pocketed the captured pokemon. The golden-eyed man cued for Caine to follow him deeper into the catacombs and Caine hastily followed, making sure not to trip over the rocks in his path while lighting the way for them both. [break][break] "What do I think of Galactic, sir?" he asked. The blonde-haired boy chewed on his lip for a moment as he thought of an answer. To him, the question felt like a trap. But the man said to be truthful...Could Caine trust him? He wasn't sure, and that made him nervous.[break][break] "Galactic as it is currently won't get very far," Caine replied truthfully. He thought that the ones who were higher ranked than the admin before him were not taking care of the team, nor doing the best for it. Or at least, the devastation they had caused did not seem aligned to the team's goal in any way. "But as a lowly Grunt I'm not sure my word has much input."[break][break] Hah. Caine knew exactly what he wanted from Galactic - The very same spot that the leader occupied. He wouldn't get there anytime soon, but with patience, he might in the future.[break][break]
[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine turned his head towards the darkness, shining his flashlight when he noticed two croagunk together. They looked surprised to see them and from their angry glares, both of the Galactics had intruded into their territory. It just so happened that one was male and the other was female so perhaps they were mating? Maybe he could find an egg around here. He released a pokemon from its ball and quickly gave a command before the croagunk could attack. "Scorpius, use venoshock!"[break][break] The skorupi hissed and attacked the closest croagunk (male), which cried out in pain as the scorpion pokemon's fangs bit into the nape of its neck. It struggled to get free, trying to sting Caine's pokemon. The galactic grunt withdrew a free pokeball and placed it against the struggling croagunk's forehead. In a flash of white light, the croagunk had disappeared, encapsulated in the small red and white apparatus.[break][break] Caine hefted the pokeball as he tucked it into his coat pocket , smiling. Maybe he could trade it for something...[break][break] Caught Croagunk (M)
[attr="class","LastCross"]"e listens quietly to Ingram's words the boy was young still a peon, but he was no fool. "Ingram why did you join team galactic? Money? Power perhaps? What in this world torments you so that you'd join terrorists and revolutionaries to change it." It wasn't as much of a popular question most grunts kept themselves in what exactly about their existence they wanted to change, whether it was concept, structure or something more personnal. Those boundaries meant nothing to the galactic Admin and the boy's answer wasn't as much requested as it was ordered. The boy was slowly proving useful and it was that competance that Aster sought for in the world he was creating. Before the boy can offer an answer however another wild duo proceeds to intterupt the two.
He's deemed commands unnecessary as the ghost type rises from the shadows once again to defend his master. A second blue aura surrounds the dual poison type pokemon only for it to collapse immediately the psychic type technique doubly effective against it. While he personally had no need for a Croagunk he'd heard of one who'd like it, one who could be convinced to join his side. And so when the ball dings in solidarity he retrieves the device before sliding it into his pocket.
With the battle out of the way, he turns to Ingram once more his face unreadable entirely. "Ingram I'm still waiting for your answer."
[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine listened to the admin's question quietly, formulating a response as he watched the admin catch the croagunk. He didn't think the admin would particularly want a croagunk, considering his team. Perhaps he wanted to trade it?[break][break] Caine shook his head and focused back on the question. Why indeed...[break][break] "There is something I must accomplish," he said finally, tasting the words on his tongue. "I was recruited a time ago but hadn't truly become a member until recently. At that time, it was for money. But I have a more important goal in mind." Caine shone his flashlight into the darkness but saw no trace of other wild pokemon. However, he would keep his guard up. Brushing his hair out of his eyes, he settled his turquoise gaze on Aster's form hunched in shadow. "Are there further questions, sir?"[break][break] Caine had intentionally left out his answer to Aster's inquiry about a want of power. He knew that he craved power badly. He wanted Aster's position in the far future - definitely not anytime soon, but eventually. For now, he would give his complete loyalty to the admins Aster and Adrien. Now that he'd met both, he thought that this would be the best route.[break][break] "And sir, why have you come to the catacombs?" he asked. Caine suspected that there might be information on the two legendary pokemon hidden within, but he wasn't certain. Perhaps Aster held some answers?
[attr="class","LastCross"]hile Aster understood personal boundaries he didn't particularly care for them; especially when they got in the way of what he wished to acquire. as was the case with Ingram. The young man apparently had something he wanted, some goal goal he wished to achieve. That however, was the nature of most in the organization, "We all have agendas Mr. Ingram. Some simple some complex, you wouldn't willingly work with thieves and accused murders if you didn't, would you?" The dark-skinned man would chuckle mentioning his own wanted status before glancing in Eleven's direction. The now silent pokemon served as an indicator that no wild pokemon would be disturbing them further, or at least for the time being allowing for a full conversation as they proceeded deeper into the catacombs.
"So I'll ask again, What is this goal you hope to achieve Mr. Ingram?" Aster had never been a fan of repeating himself, but he'd allow the boy a certain 'leeway' seeing as he'd managed to deal with their wild encounters with a level of skill the Admin appreciated. That being said, who knew if the man would allow such a service twice. "Watch your footing, the catacombs are linked to the lake in Mt. Coronet, as such they're both slippery and unstable." He'd warn the boy as the sound of cavern water dripping and flowing from the various orifices of the narrowing enclosure. Without the distraction of wild pokemon Aster and his escort were making it to the desired cavern at a decent pace now. He'd been here enough now that the layout or at least could navigate through this particular path with relative ease. If he wished to explore new path's he'd need another admin's assistance.
[attr="class","jarcainereply1"] Caine wasn't sure how to reply to the admin. Should he tell the truth? A half-truth? A complete lie?[break][break] None of those options seemed very favorable. So he opted for truth.[break][break] "Stopping time," he said simply, giving a wry yet bitter smile. "Laugh at my hedonistic goal if you wish." Caine knew his goal was selfish, but thing is, it wouldn't affect anyone else's goals in any way - not really. Whatever Galactic's goals were, they didn't really clash with his, and so whatever the admin was planning wouldn't affect his agenda. What he wanted alongside that goal, though, was power.[break][break] Heck, he was greedy.[break][break] As the admin cautioned him on the slippery floor, Caine nodded and moved with more caution, keeping a close eye on the admin's form. He was glad the admin was here - it seemed that the man knew how to get around these catacombs. Beforehand, Caine had planned on etching small markings or putting out some sort of milestone so he could find his way out.[break][break] "Ah, you haven't answered my question, sir," he said politely, trying not to antagonize the golden-eyed man with a repeated question. "What is your goal?"
[attr="class","LastCross"]he boy's goal wasn't odd, but the blond's expected reaction to his aspirations was off. Aster stops for a moment turning to the boy.
"Why would I think your goals are funny? To stop time is neither laughable or out of the realm of possibility." He'd tilt his head at the boy moving too close to the grunt invading the young man's personal space entirely. "Expecting others to disrespect your goals shows you have little confidence in them yourself." He'd look over the boy golden eyes reading him before bringing a hand to his head in an odd form of endearment. "In this world a dream is all you have, to make it a reality you must fight, now hurry along time is precious." With that the man would turn from the boy delving deeper into the caverns.
As they'd reach a more ancient corridor the letters of unown scribbled across the walls now Aster increased his pace, they were nearing the tablets he wished to analyze. Caine also wished to know the Admin's goals a topic that would pass the time until they reached their destination. "My goals are those of my members. I will carry the weight and the dreams of those who will give their bodies to me and fight in my name."
As he spoke finally they'd arrive at the end of the corridors revealing a massive stone painting of the three beings of emotion in the center of the triangle they formed was the red chain, what he currently sought to create. The dark-skinned man would look over the massive tablet once before turning to his subordinate once again. "And so Caine I ask you, will you follow me? For the sake of your goals and my own will you become my sword?" No longer was this simple loyalty to Galactic, no this was loyalty to the being that was Aster.
