It was appropriate doing this here, on this exact route, the place they had first met. It hadn't been that long, but it felt like ages. The battles and adventures they had been through, it brought a bittersweet smile to her lips. Freya, her Flaaffy was following close at her side, a bit curious on what they were doing here. She seemed to recognize the route though, sniffing the air and making cute little noises when something caught her interest. Yet she never left her trainer's side, and that made this even harder for Charlotte.
Little did Freya know, today she'd be moving on with someone new, someone who would hopefully love her just as much if not more than the blonde did. Times had changed, her team had grown and evolved, and Freya deserved more attention than the trainer could give her now.
It took only minutes before they reached the meeting spot. Jensen, she thinks his name is, hasn't arrived yet so they have time. Charlotte takes a deep breath, kneeling down next to her Flaaffy and scruffs her fluffy head lovingly. "Hey girl, today you'll meeting someone..." she tries to hold back the tears that want to fall. Freya tilts her head, noticing the change of speech. "You'll be joining them, but don't worry they'll take good care of you!"
And here comes the tears. She pulls the pink sheep pokemon closer to her, hugging her gently as she silently cries. It takes a moment but it sinks in and Freya squirms, pulling back and shaking her head frantically. "Shh shh," Charlotte whispers, smiling as she pets her on the head again. "Trust me it'll be fun!" And just then she hears footsteps so she stands up quickly and wipes at her face, trying to put on a genuine smile as Freya clings to her leg. "Jensen?"
