Ezra might have gave Woobat a light scratch if he were to but come within reach, but it was very timid and maintained itself by Theodore's side. His Woobat really is fuzzy... Perhaps Theodore was correct on the matter of battling; his preferences in pokemon seemed uncharacteristic of a trainer, let alone a Galactic Recruit.

Perhaps it wasn't fair to ask, a bit intrusive and with nowhere for Theodore to run away and avoid the inquisition, perhaps Ezra would have been more polite to wait for the right time to ask. But he was genuinely curious. Theodore was one of his co-workers, and he seemed alright. Ezra thought it noble to try and side with him.
Perhaps it would benefit Ezra in the long haul.
"Is it the sort of debt that lasts forever?" Ezra hoped Theodore got the gist of the question. He wanted to know if he could help paddle water out of the boat. Ezra just really wanted to know what Theodore was like without the Galactic affiliation.
