major news alert!
witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.

“Ugh! This place is so gloomy… Honestly, Trixie, I have no idea how your kind can spend their whole lives in caves.”
Her noibat nodded, almost agreeing with her on the fact that caves are somewhat nasty places to live in (even if she was born in one). But that was just Trixie all over, not one to live the life of a regular noibat, she was a pokemon of refined beauty and grace and of course the occasional smack down.
Eretria didn’t really want to come here, but after her Dad had practically forced her to, saying something along the lines of ‘If you want to prove that your independent, then go to the caves and make it out in one piece. You’ve got a radio if you need to call for help.’
“Pfft, Daddy’s always worrying sooo much! I’ve told him it’s not good for his hea- AH WHO’S THERE?!”
Eretria jumped as a shadowy figure approached from the distance, she couldn’t make out who it was due to the bad lighting inside. But she had to play it cool, perhaps she could even tag along with this person to make sure she makes it out in ‘one piece’.

s Ken traveled through the caves he couldn't help but get spooked by every little noise. Yea, he liked the atmosphere of everything but it's still in his nature to keep an eye open. After getting a bit too creeped out after hearing what sounded like a person talking, he sent out his Poochyena, Fae, as a companion and a precaution.
"I'm gonna need you out here in case something tries to attack me." Ken had picked up the Poochyena and held it close in his arms, obviously afraid. The Poochyena was fine with this and panted heavily as a dog would.
After walking for a bit everything seemed fine. Ken had gotten used to the constant creeping feeling at his back and the occasional pokemon scurrying past him wasn't as scary as the first time. It seemed fine, but suddenly the Poochyena's ears shot up and it let out a low growl. Hopping out of Kens arms the Poochyena sprinted forward, Ken running after.
"Fae, wait!" Ren shouted behind the pokemon, trying his best to keep up with the four legged pokemon running out of the cave they were just spelunking in. Fortunately it stopped just as he was about to run out of breath at the entrance/exit of the cave. As the Poochyena growled at a figure in the distance, Ken was slouched over catching his breath in the doorway. "W-what're ya growlin' at?" he said looking at the direction the Poochyea was barking suddenly seeing someone looking in his direction.
As she yelled, Ken, shot up staring at what he believed to be a woman. "I ain't no one, who're you?" he responded slowly stepping forward into a visible distance.

Oh great, the mysterious type. Eretria sighed, twirling her fingers through her hair before walking forwards with a mischievous grin.
“My name’s Vex, sugar. But why ya gotta act all shady for huh? Lurking in the shadows like that could scare a poor little girl like me.”
The light shone on her face a bit more, revealing a pout and puppy eyes as she looked the man up and down, before smiling at the pokemon between his arms.
“Speaking of which, care to help a damsel in distress out? I wanna explore the cave but… I’m a bit worried about going solo, mind if I tag along with you?”

e wasn't buying the puppy eye's, he was immune to them, in fact they almost pissed him off, he felt like she was trying to use him. That feeling was heightened when she asked for help. He sucked his teeth in an annoyed manner at the girl's mannerisms, a slight frown plastered on his face.
"First off, you don't look like the type to go down without a fight, ya' look like you could handle yourself. Second, why would you wanna go with me? Like I said before, your features are mannish enough to scare off anyone that tries to come at ya', what's a guy with a Poochyena gonna do, bite at their ankle while you run away? Nah, I ain't some loyal guard dog. Third, what's sayin I ain't gonna be the one that attacks ya'? You can't just trust anybody these days."
He finished with a smile shaking his head, "But if ya' willin' tah trust me, sure, I'll go in with ya' S'not like I got anywhere else to be." He about-faced and started to make his way back into the cave looking over his shoulder, "You comin' or what?" his smile started to fade into the dark along with his face, Poochyena at his feet.

Job done. Eretria happily skipped after the ‘nobody’, Trixie flying overhead as she occasionally glanced down at the poochyena keeping an eye on it. Eretria definitely found the man’s point rather funny, of course she could hold her own, Daddy made her go to all kinds of martial arts lessons when she was younger and Team Galactic offered quite a lot of training courses that she was also forced to attend.
“Skorr…”
“Grimerr.”
Now that the two had made their way quite far into the cave, strange noises could be heard from every direction; scuttling, cries and the occasional loose rock falling from the walls. Eretria shuddered, she made a mental note not to come inside a cave any time soon in the near future.
‘whoosh!’
A shadow zipped past them, too quick to make out what it was. It caused the grunt to jump back startled, Trixie flying towards her and resting on her shoulder.
“Wah! Did you see that?!”
Then there was an eerie scuttling sound right above her head, once again the cave was too dark to make out but…
“Ahhh! I’ve had enough of this! Trixie use hurricane inside this whole damn cave!”
The noibat fiercely jumped off her, flapping her little tiny wings but created a monstrous gust of wind, forming a wind tunnel that would sure cause some damage to anything inside of here. Eretria had to hold her hands up to her eyes, the wind inside this cave was causing lots of dust to fly up around her.
In the distance were many pokemon cries, but she didn’t expect them to come running back for a fight. Crawling along the wall was a skorupi, already hurt and a bit pissed off. Barrelling forwards on the ground was a grimer, bobbing around like a water filled balloon.
“Trixie! Use super fang on Skorupi!”
With elongated fangs, her noibat dived down like a bullet, chomping hard on the scorpion pokemon and throwing it off the wall. But the wild pokemon also bit back with bug bite, followed by a nasty venoshock.
“Bloody bugs!”
Eretria lobbed a pokeball forwards, smacking the skorupi square in the face.
Nope! Nope! Nope! Trixie hated all of this very much so. Creepy crawlies lurking in every corner, rock pokemon ready to jump up from the ground. She was constantly on edge!
The very moment she heard a strange noise, she retreated back to her trainer, latching onto her shoulder and staying close to Eretria for comfort. This was no fun at all, not one bit.
But the moment she was told to use hurricane, she felt a little bit more confident. Much better to attack anything lurking in the shadows that be attacked first.
Trixie is used hurricane on skorupi ! It's super effective on skorupi ! Trixie used super fang on skorupi ! Trixie was hit by bug bite ! Trixie was hit by venoshock !

s the small hurricane whirled around the cave and Ken was barraged with pebbles and dirt he stood at the back, watching the girl in front of him do what she came there to do. Letting his clothes blow in the wind as the Poochyena struggled to keep a foothold.
After picking up the Poochyena in his arm he stood straight turning his head to look around to where the sound might be coming from. As the pokemon showed themselves he stood in the back still, not even lifting a hand to help the girl if she needed it.
“You got this.” Were the only words uttered during the entire ordeal. Neither did he want a new pokemon or need either offered.
As she caught the Skorupi, Ken would say, “Good Job, let's get movin’.” As he continued forward he would accidentally step in the Grimer and utter, “Eck!” As he’d wiggle his foot trying to get the slop off of his shoes, dragging it on the floor of the cave trying to wipe it off as well. The Poochyena, still in Ken’s arm, would let out a Roar echoing throughout the cave, scaring the half dead Grimer off.

h hey, a Corphish would be cool, Cradaunt is a cool looking pokemon, he could use it.
“Alright, Fae, Sucker Punch it then follow up with a quick Crunch to keep it in place.” The Poochyena did as commanded hitting the pokemon with a quick dash and clamping down on its arm keeping it still.
The Corphish would retort with a Double Hit then Knock Off, pushing the Poochyena off of the Corphish’s arm.
Ken took this moment to toss a pokeball at the Corphish while it was distracted catching it.

Her accomplice made quick work of the Grimer, his pokemon scaring it away with a very cute little roar. They continued walking through the cave, once again hearing very strange sounds. 'Drip'
'Drip'
'Drip'
“Huh?”
Was that water? Why would there be water near a cave, perhaps an underwater river or pond or something? The following sound of splashing had confirmed her theory. Although she couldn't see anything, she did hear the occasional splash of water from time to time, though they never actually came across it. What they did come across however were two water pokemon, a krabby and a corphish, what a cute pairing!
Ken was quick to act and sent his poochyena after the corphish before catching it.
“Super fang and hurricane, I want you to make quick work of this pokemon!”
Trixie swooped forwards, slicing her fangs into the hard shell before slamming it against the ceiling of the cave with a blast of air. Unfortunately, Trixie still wasn’t amazingly strong and the krabby was still fighting fit (barely). Two large bubbles blasted from each of his claws, one flying past Trixie as she ducked downwards but the other hitting her square on.
“Agh! Hurricane, again!”
Krabby was sent flying away, his little legs just couldn’t keep on the ground anymore and he was quickly swallowed up by the darkness of the cave.
Eretria huffed, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear and marching on forwards.

"Woah! Look out!"
Two pokemon came running towards them from either side. A poochyena from behind and a venipede directly ahead. Trixie was already exhausted, but Eretria needed one more thing from here.
"Okay baby! Use tailwind!"
The cave was filled with a strange draft, before quickly turning into a strong wind. The poochyena was lifted and up and carried forwards, placing both pokemon in front.
But before Eretria could shout her next command, the small mutt used tackle and bite, leaving Trixie laying on the ground unconscious. Regretfully, she withdrew her pokemon and let out her much less... favoured of the two- Gino.
The gulpin sighed, both eyes closed in a strange daze as it wobbled around.
"Okay Gino! Remember all the training we've been doing? I need you to use stock pile and sludge bomb on poochyena!"
All kinds of strange purple liquid was blasted from his mouth, hurting the poochyena quite a bit. But the wild pokemon only retaliated using scary face and tackle again.
"Gino! Sludge bomb again then use spit up!"
It was like a double attack, first he spat out a disgusting glob of... Bleugh, Eretria didn't want to know what his sludge bomb was made out of, then a beam of energy. The pooch was out for the count.

hoa, a Poochyena. It’s not like they’re rare or anything, Ken just didn’t expect to see it. He smiled as the Poochyena to his side yapped, huffing wildly with it’s tail wagging like crazy. Guess they’re just attracted to each other.
As the woman brought them forward, the Poochyena barked more, happily. Then it was attacked. The wicked woman brought the Poocheyna closer with tailwind, and started attacking it. The one at Ken’s side quieted down and sat idly while it was finished off. Ken couldn’t help but feel a little bad, maybe he should have caught it before the woman knocked it out. Aw well, nothing to do now but… oh wait, there’s one more pokemon here.
Ken looked it over for a second and decided he didn’t want it. He looked down at his Pooch and snapped his fingers giving the command, “Roar, we don’t need to do like she did.” the ‘she’ directed at Eretria.
The Pooch let out a loud ‘yap’ once again echoing through the caves and scaring off the Venipede.

And so the other pokemon fled.
Eretria sniggered, returning her Gulpin to his pokeball and turning to face the mystery man and his pooch. She licked her lips, giving him an unsettling grin before taking a step forwards.
“Oh please, a fights a fight. Besides, I don’t care about the ugly ones.”
Poochyenas were ugly in her opinion, especially the little yappy one that doesn’t seem to want to gain any kind of fighting experience whatsoever. Perhaps this man was some kind of peaceful monk that lived in the mountains or some shit like that.
“Pfft, anyway, I’m done here.”
The once shy weak little girl at the beginning of the journey was gone. Eretria was back to her feisty energetic self that just wanted a meat shield in case this cave got a little ‘hairy’. Turning her back and then giving him a half-hearted wave goodbye with a very weak hand gesture, not even bothering to face him, Eretria was taking her leave.
