major news alert!
witness reports from all over the region has been flooding in about strange happenings at the three lakes. what's more perplexing is that these occurrences seem to be happening spontaneously at the lakes. just moments ago, a burst of light erupted at the locations and residents in the vicinity have reported that the lake-side pokemon have turned aggressive and attack on sight.
However, there have been rumours and sightings of the legendary lake trio which has had trainers flocking in from all over the region.
Timeless. The only word that could describe the feeling filling the atmosphere around Orvis. His breath was shaking with excitement and his hands were quivering with joy. This was it, the beginning of the journey he had always dreamed about - sure, he may have left it a tad bit late, but at least he wasn't in his 20's (not yet at least). He was always jealous of the younger kids leaving home to take part in becoming a pokemon master, his parents were very strict with him and didn't want him leaving the house till he was 'mature enough'. Pfft, he practically invented the word.
Holding the pokeball that he had just been given by the professor in twinleaf town, Orvis gave it a light tap with his index finger, unleashing a dazzling red light. He hadn't even stayed long enough for the professor to tell him what pokemon it was, he just turned up, said hello and left. Some may view it as rude, but he likes to think of it as eager... Very very eager. The trainers eyes widened, taking in every single second. Before he knew it, a large metallic bird pokemon was soaring in the air above him - skarmory.
"Oh my God! A freakin' Skarmory!"
Orvis leapt in the air, pumping his fist as he did so. The skarmory gracefully landed in front of him, looking at him curiously before nudging his hand gently with the smooth shiny surface of its beak.
"Ah man... A name... What about, Zephyr? Like the wind right?"
Skarmory squawked with approval, flapping its dark red wings like it was cheering Orvis on. And just like that, his adventure had started. The two headed down route 201 as quickly as their legs/ wings could take them. What pokemon would they first encounter along here?
He was already full of adrenaline, him and his pokemon running through the wilderness. Skarmory searching the air up high while Orvis continued pushing his way through the thick grass. Zephyr's eyes were scanning the ground with a sharp eye, it wasn't long before he had found something.
"Squaw!"
Zeph dove down towards a more rocky area where less grass grew, flapping his wings vigourously like a beacon to show he had found something.
Orvis grinned, running over to his metallic pokemon and petted his hard head.
"Well done! But what did you find?"
As Orvis glanced over to a pair of two large boulders, he noticed a very very small pale pokemon come peaking out. A tynamo! He had never ever seen one of these in person before, only on TV or various posters. The poor thing looked terrified, he kind of felt bad but at the same time, he didn't want to let something like this pass by. Orvis crouched down to his knees, holding out his arms like a hug.
"Hey buddy, no need to be scared. We're nice, see!"

...
"Tyna.. MO!"
The little pokemon darted forwards at a speed Orvis never thought it could move at. Using tackle, the electric type pokemon slammed itself into Orvis, knocking him back some.
"Ah jeez! I was trying to be nice! Zephyr,metal sound! Followed by swift!"
Skarmory followed his orders, releasing a horrible screech at the tynamo, a flurry of shining stars chased the pokemon down, pounding into it with a series of small explosions.
But the tynamo was not very impressed with that at all, its body shone with a yellow light, small sparks radiating from its body. With a quick cry, a charge beam shot towards Skarmory, hurting it greatly.
Zephyr's wings began to flap more slower, it clearly didn't like being hit by that attack. Orvis had to do something quick.
"Metal sound and swiftagain, quick!"
That was all it took, with its defence lowered and no way of escaping, the plethora of stars shattered against the elefish, knocking it out cold.
Zephyr squawked with victory, circling the air before landing next to Orvis.
"Yes! Well done, that was amazing!"

So exciting! Skarmory, wait no, Zephyr now! Zephyr was already having so much fun with his new trainer, it was so dull to be stuck inside the laboratory with all the researchers, too many machines and examinations. But now, now he had a trainer who was so full of energy, just like him!
Zephyr was going to do the very best he could to help Orvis out in any way possible. Firstly, he started flying through the air, watching the grass below for any signs of movement, he couldn't wait to stretch his wings and show off his skill to his new trainer.
Huh? What's that? A little flash of white darted across the rocky terrain on the ground below, a pokemon! "Squaw!"
That should get Orvis's attention. Tucking in his wings, the metal bird dived down, it's talons digging into the earth. His trainer came running over, obviously very proud of his new pokemon.
Rustling his feathers, Skarmory would wait for the wild creature to show itself... A tiny tynamo - uh oh. Small it may be, but shocking it definitely is.
His trainer attempted to show a bit of kindness to this pokemon, pfft, Zephyr had been in the wild long enough to know that very rarely worked.
'BAM'
He was correct. Zephyr rolled his eyes at his trainer who just got tackled. Should he be more concerned? Nah.
But now it was time to get to business...
"Zephyr, metal sound!"
Zephyr used Metal Sound ! Zephyr used Swift ! Zephyr was hit by charge beam ! It's super effective !! Zephyr used Metal Sound ! Zephyr used Swift !
Orvis clutched his chest where the Tynamo had hit him. Lifting up his top, there was a small bruise just below his left pec, damn that thing hit hard.
Zephyr looked slightly concerned, rubbing it's beak against his chest to see if he could help. Orvis raised an eyebrow, the two hadn't even spent a day together and already Skarmory was concerned. He laughed, pulling his top back down.
"Don't worry too much bud! Hahaha, No fish is gonna keep me down for long."
"Skar!"
The two laughed together, well Zephyr did whatever sound Skarmory's make when they're amused - sort of a mixture between a dying meowth and the sound of death in general, but hey at least he's happy.
'Clunk'
"Huh? What was that?"
Orvis turned his head to the strange sound. It didn't sound like it was very far, it sounded quite close in fact. But where did it come from?
'Clunk'
'Clunk'
Zephyr raised his head up into the air, trying to track a scent. Though it wasn't very necessary, Orvis was already making his way in the direction of the strange sound. Walking through the grass and towards the river, Orvis spotted an exhausted pawniard stacking large stones on top of each other in a circular shape. What on earth was it doing? Building a home?
It didn't take long for it to spot Orvis snooping in on its daily business. The pawniard huffed, crossing it's arms and shouting rather angrily at the trainer, Orvis had waltzed right into the pokemons territory to be fair.
"Ready Zephyr?"
His Skarmory flared it's wings out in response, ready to fight again.
"Use air cutter then use steel wing!"
Skarmory screeched as it pushed off with his legs, launching forwards as if it were to attack Pawniard before darting upwards and throwing a blade of air towards the pokemon. It slammed right into it, kicking up some dust as well.
As the dust settled, Pawniard would see that Skarmory was already headed directly towards it, the wings of the pokemon shining as it went in for the steel wing attack. But Pawniard was not going to let this silly bird throw all the punches.
A long metal blade elongated from its hand and with a nice slicing motion, it countered the attack with metal claw, knocking Skarmory against the ground with a thud.
Before Skarmory could get up, it landed a slash along his leg. Luckily both these attacks didn't do much damage, they sure were annoying though.
"Zephyr! Jump back and use your wings to blow up the dust into the air!"
Zephyr did as he was told, using the terrain to their advantage. It wasn't enough to lower the pokemons accuracy, but it gave them time to think about the next plan.
"Fly up above and use metal sound, then circle around it with a swift attack!"
An ear splitting screech slammed onto the pokemon, causing the air to ripple from the sound of Skarmory's powerful cry. Zephyr then began to circle the pokemon, forming lots and lots of stars like a miniature tornado. They each spun round towards the pokemon, exploding against its tough metal one by one.
"Please work..."
The dust settled, the shimmering golden sparkles eventually evaporated from the swift attack, leaving behind a poor pawniard standing still amidst the carnage.
Skarmory continued flying in the air, waiting for it's next command. But there wouldn't have to be another command, the little pokemon fell to its knees, then all fours, then its chest.
"WAHOOOO!"

Well that was invigorating! Skarmory felt so alive after that fight, sure it took some damage but he had fun! But he was slightly worried about the bruise on Orvis' chest, it looked quite painful. Zephyr nudged him gently to see if he wanted any help, but was relieved when his trainer just laughed and carried on walking.
This guy rocked.
Skarmory screeched with joy, only to be interrupted by a very peculiar sound. What on earth? While he was busy sniffing the air, his trainer was already searching. Skarmory followed along behind him, only walking a short distance to see another steel type pokemon making its home. The pawniard instantly started showing signs of aggression, trying to threaten them with an intimidating stance. Pathetic.
Upon hearing the first command, Skarmory launched from the ground as fast as he could, his wings gliding just above the ground before rocketing up.
Time to show what he's made of.
Zephyr used Air Cutter ! It's not very effective... Zephyr used Steel Wing ! It's not very effective... Zephyr was hit by Metal Claw ! It's not very effective... Zephyr was hit by Slash ! It's not very effective... Zephyr used Metal Sound ! Zephyr used Swift ! It's not very effective...
The newly fledged trainer was feeling rather pleased with himself. Orvis wasn't really ready to instantly start catching pokemon, he wanted to form a bond with his starter pokemon first - it would be quite rude to catch another pokemon on his first trip with Zephyr.
They had started walking along the riverbank, Zephyr was gliding gracefully above the river, occasionally dipping his wings into the surface and leaving a trail of ripples. Orvis started to envy the pokemon, the way it had the ability go anywhere it wanted with just a few flaps of its wings. But then again, Orvis could go anywhere he wanted, Zephyr practically was his wings.
'BANG'
A flash of light burst in front of Skarmory, dazing it as he crashed to the ground from the confuse ray attack. Orvis panicked and instantly ran over to the bird, checking to see if he was okay.
"Ghastly..."
In the distance, a small gaseous pokemon hovered ominously above the ground. A large grin plastered to its face as it snickered with menacing eyes.
"Darn thing! Zeph, you okay?"
"Skar!"
That's all Orvis needed. Satisfied with Skarmory's response, Orvis would point to the Ghastly, shouting his commands.
"Metal sound, double it up!"
Skarmory cocked his head back, inhaling before letting out a screeching sound from his beak. The rippling waves slammed into the Ghastly and before he could move, another metal sound struck him.
The ghost pokemon floated upwards, a mass of black light orbiting around it before it sent a dark pulse attack towards Zeph.
"Quick, dodge!"
The poor Skarmory attempted to fly out the way, but the confuse ray must have taken quite the affect on it, making him jump right into the dark type attack instead. Zephyr was sent flying backwards, skidding along the ground.
"Agh! I just need Zeph to land a few hits, the pokemons defence should be lowered enough..."
Ghastly's eyes began to radiate with a yellow and pink light, trying to hypnotise Skarmory. Orvis had to think fast.
"Quick, use air slash at the ground in front of Ghastly!"
Finally Zephyr was able to do something useful. Beating his wings against the ground, Zephyr quickly rose up into the air before firing a wave of air at Ghastly. Dust was kicked up, blocking Ghastly's hypnotic eyes from view.
"Again! This time aim right for it!"
'WHOOSH'
A blade of air sliced through the space between them, the impact against the pokemon caused another cloud of dust to be kicked up. But as the dust faded... Ghastly was nowhere to b seen.
Orvis looked around quickly, where did it go? Did it run away?
'CRASH'
Orvis turned around to see that Zephyr had crashed straight to the ground, his eyes were closed and the sound of snoring could also be heard. Looking up, Orvis saw that Ghastly had hypnotised Skarmory with a surprise attack. Things weren't looking so good.
"Zephyr! Wake up!"
No use at all. The iron bird was sound asleep, but Ghastly was now striking Zeph with nightmare. A shroud of darkness coated Skarmory, damaging it in some strange supernatural way.
"Darn it..."
A hand gingerly reached for one of the pokeballs in his pocket. Clicking the button, he felt the ball expand in his hand. Regretfully, he threw the ball up into the air, hitting the ghastly before it was enveloped in red light.
He didn't want to do it, but he didn't want Skarmory to be hurt any further. Besides, he'd have to catch a pokemon at some point, right?

Such fun! Zephyr swooped in and out of the trees, ducking down and letting his gilded feathers run through the rivers surface. Beating his wings together, he'd rise a little bit, higher, higher...
BANG
He plummeted, dazed and confused from the sudden explosion of light, hitting the ground with a thud. Orvis was there in a flash, checking up on him already. This reassured Zephyr that his trainer was definitely the caring sort, not one to use and abuse pokemon like tools.
Shaking his head, Zephyr would take a look to see what on earth attacked him... A Ghastly.
He squawked and squawked, showing just how annoyed he was at this rude pokemon. Did it not see he was having some fun flying time?!
With a big deep breath, Zephyr let the metal sound resonate within his throat before blasting it towards the pokemon. The next few attacks are definitely going to hurt now...
There was a flurry of claws, shadows and air. The two pokemon battled harshly, trying to land hits as quick as possible.
But now, Zephyr was flying in the air very confused. He could have sworn the Ghastly was right there on the ground, where did it go?
"Ghaa~"
Zephyr felt an overwhelming sense of sleepiness wash over him. His wings tucked in and he dropped like a rock.
Sweet dreams.
Zephyr was hit by Confuse Ray ! Zephyr hurt itself in confusion ! Zephyr used Metal Sound x2 ! Zephyr was hit by Dark Pulse ! Zephyr used Air Cutter x2 ! Zephyr was hit by Hypnosis ! Zephyr is fast asleep ! Zephyr was hit by Nightmare !
